I have been running HoneyVillian/Taboonay off an on for the past few days, but have some issues with Wifi disconnecting, audio, market issues. Want to go back to the latest Acer stock/rooted which was much less buggy for me. Can't for the life of me figure out what version I should use...
This thread may help, which is stickied in this forum...

Hi
I've just ordered a Vega from eBay (cost me just £120 ) and the seller offered to install a rom of my choice for me as he currently had it running ICS beta. Got him to install Vegacomb 3.2 build 9n as its the latest and the 1st one on the forum but just wondering what you guys think is the most stable Rom. I'm basically gonna be using it for games and watching movies from a USB stick.
Thanks in advance

I have tried various versions of: Stock, CM7, Corvus5, Vegacomb, HoneyICE, ICS Alpha2 on mine, but the most stable ROM to date IMO has been:
ViewComb 3.2
(Currently using build 6.3)
Stock is too old
CM7 & Corvus5 too slow / old
VegaComb and HoneyICE
-------------------------
Tried builds:
VegaComb 9n -> 9n upd3
HoneyICE 3.26 & 3.27
I have had many FC's, especially in browsers.
Also a lot of issues with getting bluetooth and Wifi operating together properly.
Also I have found install can be a pain due to having to nvflash then recovery install, then updates etc.
Sometimes it all installs fine in one round, other times I have spent hours re-flashing & installing only to find I get boot loops each time.
(Others have not had these issues but forum posts suggest its hit and miss)
ViewComb
----------
Simple to install - via nvflash.
Stable
Fast
ICS Alpha2
---------
Very nice, fast ROM, will definately move to this when it comes out of Alpha
So would you recommend Viewcomb as like I said all I want is for it to be fast stable and be able to watch movies and listen to music of a USB

I think thats where they are heading, yes. Viewcomb. Not tried it myself as only got mine last Sunday but might flash that tonight.
Hey. I was just wondering if it's possible to install a stock Huawei rom back on my U8800. I cant find the files anywhere. I have Aurora ICS Rom installed, but all my musics don't work. Couldnt play the track you requested. The whole phone lags, browsing is impossible.
So is it possible to get 2.3.5 stock rom back. If not, recommend me some USEFUL roms. I haven't been looking for any for a quite a while.
Thanks, Erik
I think you must search to find:

And these are only some of the places.
Aurora ICS is very stable on latest version. I'm using it from 1x versions and most of them were stable enaugh for everyday use. Especially the latest version is very good. Wifi works fine, no reboots, good battery life, no lags. I haven't mention eny problems on browsing or phone functions also.
Version 1.041.00 of the OTA ROM was flat busted on my A500.
I've updated to a v1.054.00 based ROM and have not had any rotation issues since. The ROM is called FlexReaper-Relix_rev5 and is at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1517181 If you do not want a custom ROM then Civato has also placed a stock OTA of 1.054.00 (with Root) at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633907
I am thinking that perhaps 1.054 is the fabled fix that Acer is putting on devices sent into them for "repair"?
It would be good to know if someone who has received one back from Acer repair can say what specific ROM version is installed when they got it back. Go to Settings -> About Tablet, then report back the Build number and similar info. That would probably help the devs out a bit.
Also, I have the same v7 bootloader as with 1.041, so all that has changed was a version update to the ROM. I also briefly tried Civato's OTA 1.054 ROM and it was not having any issue. I usually had the issue on 1.041 within a few minutes of booting and running just a couple apps.
Knock on wood, hopefully my tablet will remain sane.
Good luck!
Hello guys, I have a rooted D802 device with the November '14 Snapshot CM11 ROM. I'm totally satisfied with it, since I don't encounter random reboots and every app works flawlessy. But recently a problem has surfaced which I think is due to the ROM being outdate by this mane months. My apps don't get the latest updates, for example Messenger won't get the new "Seen" bubbles at the conversations, Sims Free Play is now crashing because it's not getting the newest patch and so on. These all aren't that important compared to my satisfaction with this ROM but they do are nuisances which annoy me.
So after a little digging, I noticed that the CM11 thread here in xda for G2, is flooded with comments about CM12 and when I checked the original site, all CM11 versions were replaced by the new CM12. Basically, what I'm asking since I'm a newb to all this, is what would be a stable nightly of CM12 for me to upgrade to? Are there still bugs(certainly, I guess) and if yes what are they? I will probably be fine with certain insignificant ones, but not big ones like the SMS App crashing or video playback not working etc.. The CM12 thread was last updated on December so this is why I am making my own thread, as I don't want to do anything wrong. Also, is a wipe necessary? Should I re-install gapps? If someone could guide me through the process I would be grateful.
Thanks in advance, George.
P.S.: If there is another solution to my aforementioned problem about the apps not updating as they should, please point it out to me since I can't think of anything else that causes this
LS980 on most recent CM12 Nightly (problem persists on BlissPop offical however). I am on the Ting cell network.
This is the second time I've encountered this problem within a couple of months, and I don't remember how I fixed it the first time...
Any CM12 based ROM (BlissPop, CM, Resurrect) has this issue. I've verified that APN settings are correct, and I'm certain I'm using the right radio file. Tethering and internet browsing all work correctly, just MMS is not working.
Any help is appreciated, I'm really not in the mood for this right now. I have a lot of other stuff on my plate for the next couple of days and just want my damn phone to work.
I'm pretty convinced at this point that this is a residual bug in the CM source code that still, after several months, has not been resolved.

Edit: Does anyone have any recommendations on a good 4.4 ROM to use? And what modem does that require? (ZVE, ZV8, or whatever)
Yeah I'm 100% sure at this point this is a bug in the CM code. I'm sick of this, going back to stock. I know I'm using the correct modem/bootstack/APN. I've ruled out absolutely everything other than the CM source.
Does anyone know of a decent 4.4 ROM that's still available that I could flash? Paranoid Android looked good but all the files are offline from the OP's thread. I need full use of my phone so I have to go back to stock but I know it's a bloated piece of **** so if I could find a stable KitKat ROM that would be great.
