I would post this in the rom thread but since my account is on noob status I will post it here. I just installed 1.3.1 version of faux's rom and I have checked all the haptic feedback settings and the phone will not vibrate on incoming calls or when I receive a notification. Anyone else experience this?
Also on 1.3.1, and vibration works fine for me with calls, or text messages. Are you sure it is set to vibrate in the individual app? Stock text messaging for example, had a menu item to set when it vibrates.

I tried that and still no luck, it seems others are having the same issue on the rom thread.
I'm on 1.3.1 (fresh install after wiping), and I have no problems with phone vibration.

Hi,
I am using the latest O2 ROM with the latest Vodafone ExtROM, which works fine, APART from when I use PhoneAlarm.
The default setting for notifications of SMS messages is no audio alert, no vibration, no LED, just yes to display message. Is there anyway of changing this, I've searched the registry and can't find it.
Before I installed PhoneAlarm, I could change the alert to play "notify.wav" for a text, and it worked fine... After I installed PhoneAlarm, I've gone into the profile settings, and the default for SMS Alert was "<SYSTEM>" which is muted like detailed above. I've changed all the profiles so that it's set to "notify.wav", saved it, but it still mutes the settings like above.
This worked fine on the T-Mobile ROM, is there anyway to fix it? As the T-Mobile ROM is SLOOOOOOOOOOOW.
Cheers guys (and ladies)
-Dave.
Looks like it's nowt to do with the ROM, just downgraded to the T-Mobile one, and up to the iMate one.
Whatever I set the SMS tone to in the profiles section of PhoneAlarm, I then go to the notifications tab in Settings, and the SMS Text Notification is muted. :-/
I have the trial version of PhoneAlarm, but don't think that's owt to do with it; not going to risk paying for the full version if it's gonna do this :-/
Anyone any ides please? :-/
Regards.

I have the registered version of phone alarm and my sounds¬ifications in settings are different to what i have set in the phonealarms profile settings screen.
Best thing to do is set your sms sound in phonealarm and save settings. switch to another profile then back to the one you have just changed. and send yourself a text.
It should sound as you have it set in PA rather than the settings you have in settings\sounds¬ifications. I dont think you should go into the S&N settings as PA takes over from them the next time you switch profiles. Just make sure you have stated a sound to play rather than using <system>.
Hope this helps.
Im not sure what is up with vibrate, i used to be able to have the aria vibrate once i recive a text. I had it set through messages and smspopup but now it just wont vibrate when i get a text. Its weird because haptic feedback works and i also installed vibrating apps lol some weird apps out there but at any rate the vibrating worked for that.... anyone else experiencing this?
Download Sound Manager from the market. When you open up the app, hit menu and vibrate settings. Then under notification settings, select vibrate whenever possible.
when i have my phone on vibrate it does so with calls but not on texts even though i turned on the option under the settings for texts. i also tried audiomanager which doesnt seem to work either.
anyone else having this problem and is there a way to fix it?
Annoying as it is, the vibrate for incoming texts is controlled separately from the ringer volume. Meaning that if you turn on vibrate, it will always vibrate even if your phone isn't set to vibrate.
Menu -> Settings -> Vibrate from the text thread list.
My solution is to use the Tasker app to vibrate the phone when I receive a text on the condition that variable %SILENT = vibrate.
What I'm trying to say is that even when I go to settings and vibrate under text menu it doesn't vibrate on texts. I may give that app a try.

I started having this problem a few days ago and just solved it. I'm using Handcent for SMS, and even though my phone was set to vibrate, and Handcent notifications were set to vibrate, suddenly all of my notifications (Handcent and otherwise) stopped vibrating. Vibrate still worked on calls. I simply downloaded the free app "Sound Manager" from the Market and went to Vibrate from the Menu. For some reason Vibrate for Notifications was set to "Never". Not sure how, since I don't think there's a setting for this in the stock settings on the Epic, but I changed it and now vibrate works on all notifications again.
To me this is easier than setting something up in Tasker (though Tasker is way cool).
Sweet! Thanks so much its finally working now...

I looked everywhere for this and haven't seen anything.
If I set the entire phone to vibrate mode, incoming SMS won't vibrate.
Phone calls, email, all vibrate. SMS does not.
They only way I can get incoming SMS to vibrate is by setting SMS to "Also vibrate when notified"
The problem with this: Then SMS vibrates all the time, where phone is in vibrate or has sound on.
How do I set the SMS to only vibrate when the phone is set to vibrate?
I haven't found a way to do what you are requesting as of yet. Google took this away with the JB update I believe. However CM has an option in setting called profiles that will do this for you when properly set up. If you find something let us know I'd be interested.

There has to be some way around this, without the need to use a 3rd party sms app. I like the stock messaging app, but don't care for no vibration or vibrate all the time.
I also have an issue where the screen doesn't actually come on when sms is received, but I see a number of people on Sprint have that problem.
If I can find anything, I will post back. Hope to check some more tonight when I get off work.
I was using Simple Text for SMS, but changed back to the stock messaging app. Am running rooted stock Marshamallow on my XT1575 (but with root disabled for now). In Messaging app, I have sound set to silent, and vibrate deselected. No matter what I do the phone vibrates on incoming messages. What am I doing wrong?
I dunno. Maybe try Light Flow?
