[Q] Virtuous Unity issue ... ? - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it just me, or does it seem like the lockscreen widgets are a tad off center to the left?

A screenshot of what you're looking at would be nice. But mine look fine.

I can use a scale to verify but just looking, it seems centered fine.

Ok. I flashed 2.35 last night and now 'most' of the lockscreen widgets are centered. But the weather widget for a clear night (just the moon) still seems off a little bit. If I get a clear night in my area, I'll snap a screenshot and post it. Thanks for the replies so far.

Ok. It's not very noticeable, but the moon is slightly more to the left.

Weather Widget

Might be a general android deal, but it showed up after the OTA...My weather graph on the News and Weather widget won't let me scroll through the day anymore. The cursor moves but doesn't update the weather stats. Also, the time displayed below the cursor count's down as you scroll forward through the day. Anyone?

I have this same problem.
I noticed this as well. Is there a place for bugs to be reported rather than dicussed? ;-)
They're already aware of it.

<Q> Lock screen question

I'm not sure if I'm just blindly missing this setting but I cannot find where to change the lockscreen wallpaper. I just flashed CM 7.0.3 and it changed from being the same as my homescreen paper to grass. Not sure if it's a CM setting or an ADW setting or if it's changeable at all. Suggestions?

I don't think you can change the wp. If you really want to change wp though, you can download something like widget locker.

There is no setting to change the wallpaper for the lock screen. The Lockscreen and the HomeScreen will have the same wallpaper. As The poster above me mentioned you can use Widget Locker to use a separate Wall Paper.
Awesome! Thanks for the tips! The grass just doesn't go with my honeybee lol.

With Miui you can have different wallpapers for lockscreen and main screen. Try it out.

[Q] status bar brightness control

Does anyone else have problems with the 'slide finger on status bar to change brightness' not working in cm7?
Thanks

You're not alone. I like that CM7 has that feature, but sometimes it's very buggy I guess. Sometimes it works, sometimes it does.
I have never been able to get this to work, and I have even increased the LCD density to ridiculous levels just to have a larger bar to swipe on.

OK, at least I know it's not just me. I even tried tuning off status bar dead area thinking it might be that.
Any alternatives for changing brightness on the fly?

yeah, the status bar brightness doesn't really work vary well for me ether. I had to add a brightness toggle power widget to the notification bar. brightness mode at auto / dim / 25% /50% / 75% / 100%
There's a really great app developed specifically for CM7 on the Nook called RecentPlus over in the themes and apps forum. It replaces your long press home with a recent apps dialog that contains recent apps, plus brightness and volume sliders.
Recent plus fits the job rather nicely, thanks for the suggestion.
Wish is defaulted to brightness slider instead of volume, or remembered your last choice... But now I'm nit picking.

Hit the settings button once you're in the app and those options are available

Widget trouble

I am using current widget and setcpu and no matter how many of the settings I change Neither of them show the current current or processor speed. Am I missing something?

But youre using the widget for current widget? On one of your home screens? Try to tab on the widget it will toggle between mva and percentage I believe

I don't think that's his problem. If I am not mistaken, the widget is not refreshing and is constantly showing him 0mA. My friend had this problem in his Sensation when I asked him to check his battery drain so I could compare mine to a native Android phone. @ The OP, have you tried manually refreshing the widget (if this is your problem) by the update now button?
EDIT: Oh, OK, so it was his problem My bad.
Man I feel like an a$$ I didn't know they had added that option and since I was using the clear widget it didn't have the arrows so I never saw them. And for some reason after a restart the setcpu is working again. Thank you all for the help I will now go face palm myself!

LG Launcher ??

Just got this phone yesterday. Love it and the launcher. Only thing that bugs me is the bouncy effect on homescreen. Anyway to get rid of that?

If you are referring to the animation that happens when swiping from one screen to the next then you can change it. Settings, display, home screen, screen swipe effect.
Thanks, I did that. But it happens as your swiping. There is a small bounce effect on all animations. Reminds me of Gingerbread. I would like it to just fade instead of bounce. I hope I am making sense. Remember Launcher Pro and ADW? You could choose to have a bouncy effect or fade in etc as you rotate the screens?

If you tried everything and still don't want it, try downloading launcher applications, i.e. Launcher Pro and ADW.
You know, I picked up my wifes Flex today and even though I still noticed a slight overshoot while scrolling screens. The overshoot was not nearly as bad. Plus the transition seemed smoother.
