I bought an 8 GB class 4 microSD and then using the CWM for g3mod kernel partioned it to 1GB EXT and rest FAT32.... I then installed the App2SD v2 script USING The TEAM LC Kitchen... But Apps still installed on internal memory.. so i once again partition 128 MB but every time i partition, the FAT32 partition size keeps decreasing and still i am not able to install on the EXT partition.. TitaniumBackup says i don't have any EXT partition....
>>> I am on X XXJPS firmware and using dharam's g3mod kernel... <<<
You need to do a wipe data/factory reset after install the script. Maybe this resolve the problem
ale_bot from cm7
Do you need to have a kernel that supports a2sd? :/
Backup ur sdcard and format it from phone and then partition...i partioned my card using kryillos rom v5.5 without any problem since then I havent used any other recovery to partition as v5.5 always worked for me,it even made my sdext to ext4...

After i have installed it, the phone cannot detect my sd card. What is the problem there? Can anyone help?
Do you have only a Fat 32 partition or do you have ext2 or ext3 partition?
I have the same problem, I have 2 partition (fat32 + ext2)
how can I solve this problem??
there is no need to use ext, i have only fat partition and it works very vell, format is with the pc to fat, and i think is will work
When you use this rom, you have to only use a Fat32 partition.
format the SD card with other cell phone (this work for me when i have this problem), with 2.3 and 2.2 you don't need have a ext 2 or ext 3, my card is formated on fat16, in fat32 don't work
grettings, sorry for the english jaj
I formatted it with fat and fat32 with ext3...it doesnt work at all...hmm...format the ext part?
had the same issue , a full wipe and deleting the ext3 partition worked.
happy hackdroid 2.3.3 user now , i hope te fix the camera to take some pics as well now cause thats the only thing i can care a lil bit more
I formatted to fat32 and resulted =) thanks for help....
now just missing the camera work
yeah...i solved the problem by formatting the ext3 part to only fat32...it works..thanks alot guys...but installed apps will continue eat my phone memory???
Oh..found that this 2.3.3 have the function installing apps into sd card..great! thanks!!
Hello everyone! I installed the Srom 2.2.1 V3 earlier. Everything is working very good and stable. But i noticed a problem. When i was on 2.1, i installed link2sd to have my apps on the sd. So i partitioned my sd card. When i installed the new rom today, i didn't do anything to the sd card, and when i started to install applications i saw that they were going to the ext2 partition, despite the fact that they were marked as installed on phone memory. Then i tried the option "move to sd" (through application manager) and the apps moved to another location of the sd card. So what can i do to use my phone memory? (which has 180MB free space!)
Thank you very much in advance!
delete and format the ext partition in SDcard
If i backup the apps that are installed there using titanium, and then after formatting the sd i restore them, will they be installed on the internal memory, or will there be any problems?
1st you need to use minitool partition checking is it your SDcard creat a ext2 partition. if you just format the sdcard it doesn't mean delete your ext2 partition. so that after you update to 2.2 ROM, is still will recognized ext2 partition as your system storage
P/S sorry my bad English.
I've just deleted the partition and formatted the whole sd card. Then i wiped cache and did a factory reset because i had some install issues. So ext2+android 2.2 don't get along well!!! Thank you for your interest and replies
Hi team,
Just wanted to know why should we create Ext3 partition? Will this solve the low memory problem in Blade?
What would be the recommended partition size and how to partition it? Do forgive me if this is a repeat question please point me to right thread.
Regards
UK
Creating ext partition on memory card will move the apps from phone memory to ext partition on memory card thereby freeing up phone memory. So it solves low memory problems due to insufficient storage.
Use clockworkmod recovery to partition memory card. Depending on ur sdcard size and ur needs the ext an be 256 or 512MB with 0MB swap. After partitioning, flash the darktremor apps2sd script from custom recovery to use the sdcard for applications.

I have CM7 running. When I partition it, what happens with the backup and the data on the SD card?

All data on Sdcard will be deleted.
I have flashed the PACMan v1.2a rom to NAND. The system partition size is about 200MB. I have very few space left on the internal storage. I cannot install any applications or update them. I had already partitioned my SDCard to have 1gb FAT32 on the first partition and 1gb EXT4 on the second partition. I was expecting the ROM to automatically use the ext4 partition for data. But apparently that is not the way it works. How can I now utilize the ext4 partition on the SDCard? Do I have to reflash the ROM? A script such IntExt?
By the way, I am not a Windows user. Is there a way to repartition the internal storage without using DAF?

Nope, I just gave up.
I'm pretty sure your problem is that at installation, you're picking the wrong installation type, if you want data on the SD Card's ext4 partition, you need to pick NAND + DataOnExt in the Aroma installer, usually there is 3 options:
-NAND
(For TMOUS HD2 with 1GB NAND)
-NAND + DataOnExt
(For EU LEO/HD2 with 512MB NAND)
-NativeSD
(For very fast SD Cards)
I too had this problem, I had no space to install or update apps, you need to re flash the ROM and choose the NAND + DataOnExt.
There should be 2 partitions on your SD Card; the first one should be FAT32, and the second ext4
I hope I helped!

This may indeed be the reason. I will give this a shot asap.
Hi i had the SD Partitioned and when i tried backup sd-ext it gives an error: No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
So i wiped my SD Card using Android format, and all Partitions was deleted.
So when i try to Partition SD Card using CWM (Cyanogenmod Recovery) it says that is formatting but only pass 2 seconds and it says is all done, but is not my sd stays the same.
I'm using KitKat 4.4 for Galaxy Y (CyanoCream 4) and Whitexp last Kernel with 16GB Class 10 MicroSD.
Can anybody help me?
use minitool partition wizard for windows . u can download it
use it to deleted any partition on sd card and recreated new partition of FAT32 format . then if u want 2nd partition created new partition too (when u make 1st partition save space for 2nd partition) with ext2/3/4 it u choice . after finish apply it and done
note - backup all u sdcard data/files/etc before u started

Thanks but that i'll not solve the CWM Error: No sd-ext found. Skipping backup of sd-ext.
The issue i'm trying to solve is to make CWM Work with SD-Ext, Partition SD and Backup SD-Ext inside CWM.

to start off with you are not using kitkat 4.4 - you are using gingerbread 2.3.6 that is themed to look like kitkat
secondly you are using a banned rom so no support here from xda
thirdly you can only backup sd ext with kernels that support backing up of sd ext - whites kernel does so unless you formatted your sd card in an unsupported way - best to create the 2nd partition in cwm
is that a banned rom i not know it . maybe it me never searching for rom .

no it wont - as you havent created a 2nd ext sd card partition if you have just formatted as fat32 without creating the 2nd sd card partition in cwm
Mod Edit
As has been mentioned , Cyanocream ROM is banned on XDA.
Therefore , there can be no discussion on the subject.
