just wondering which one is the best in terms of performance.!
??
Snapdragon is a CPU not gpu.and it depends on model.for example aderno220 is said to be so powerful but 200is outdated

Agree.
Not snapdragon maybe you can change it to Tegra.

Lol snapdragon and adreno are two parts of the same processor...
adreno=gpu
that like me comparing apples with oranges and grapes ...
Sorry I don't hve much knowledge about mobile processors.!
My bad...

is it possible to know what kind of PowerVR GPUs installed on my device? SGX 530, 535 or 540? anybody knows a special app to analyze that ?
Sure it is possible. Simply search on gsmarena.com for your phone or download one of the thousand system info apps like this one.

I know a bit about the GPU.. it looks epic.
The cpu i'm not 100% sure of.
But i doubt they ignored that part.
Usually the gpu get ignored, so it's looking good for the NovaThor

i got many of them, the most advanced one only shows OpenGL ver or the GPU type (powerVR , Adreno or ...) but never the details such as SGX 530, 535 ,...
on gsmarena find the phone you want to know about, find out the cpu, then google it.. for example google "msm8255 gpu" and you get hundreds of results telling you its the adreno 205..

Jesus christ how many times is this going to get posted?
It's not true at all
lol... fake... the first poster even uses the same font and color that previous fake posts had
and to add another nail to the "fake" coffin. IF it ran W7S then it wouldnt have any external storage (as it mentions in the FAKE spec for micro sd cards up to 32gb)
Microsoft were very clear that all W7S phones would only use internal memory with no other memory slots or expansions available (ala iphone stylee)
If it is real, I will get one for sure
fake, not to mention...am I the only one that feels as though the HD2 is big enough as it is? 4.5" screen? good god, it wouldn't fit in my pockets, of that I'm sure.

Well, who REALLY knows ?
Specs sound VERY realistic.
And as a matter of fact: HTC is one of the big shots in WinMo-Phones and their devs are always at the leading edge. So they will tell MS: either You agree to an exception (external mSD) or we simply install WM 6.5.x or Android. Anyway MS looses chances to sell SW but who cares about MS?
WP7 or not. This dream machine will come, it´s only natural evolution using the latest available hardware .................
too bad that the fastest snapdragon that was just announced is the 1.2ghz dual core
nice try tho

Very realistic
Come on 1 GB of ram what for insane specs needs windows phone 7. And 1.5 GHZ dual core proccesor yeah ok it is possible.
But this specs are alomst capable to run windows xp. I think something like the htc mondrian is more realistic.
HTC just announced the Desire Z version of their "Vision" handset that is identical to the G2. It runs a newer version of HTC Sense that's got a lot of nice new enhancements. I expect G2 owners will want to port this in a hurry.
Desire Z will be available in October in Europe and Asia only.

Probably just to differentiate from the HD and help justify charging more for the HD. Does it really matter though ?
I just realized that according to what Google has already laid out, the HTC Desire Z with its 800 MHz processor doesn't meet the minimum specs standard to upgrade to Android 3.0 aka Gingerbread (at least not "officially") becaue the minimum requird spec is 1 GHz !!
I hope xda-devs comes up with a solution (overclocking ?? hybrid port ??)
because I love the form factor and the fact the Desire Z is HTC and has the latest sense UI
I'm very concerned... I don't want to invest on a phone that will become obsolete that fast !! (gingerbread is scheduled for december-january)
What do you guys think about this ??
The dark side (Droid 2 world edition) is tempting me...

For one you are in America right? So you can't get the Desire Z anyway, you can get the G2 though.
And secondly, this crap about Gingerbread requiring a 1Ghz processor to run was a rumour that Google debunked ages ago so please just get over it and wait like the rest of us to find out what exactly is happening with Gingerbread.
And in anycase the D2 World Edition is almost identical to the Desire Z/G2 anyway. HTC have the new CPU and GPU on these where as the D2 has the new CPU and same old GPU as the original so really they seem on par if this was your case for choosing that so you 'will definitely get Gingerbread'

I find your response very emotional, hey I obviously prefer an HTC device over a Moto one, but the upgradeability is very important for me. I need facts.
Regarding the american bands, pdadb says there's an US version Desire Z scheduled for december
If those google requirements have been 'debunked', I'd appreciate if you can share some links/quotations from trusted sources

I'm guessing the reason he seems "Emotional" is because this same post keeps popping up again and again on every forum, and it seems people will keep churning them out with no end in sight. The rumor is based on a tweet. There are tons of articles about this. (I haven't posted allot to this forum so can't actually post links, but just google for it.)
If you want to see the original statements by googles team you can search twitter for it. We have no reason to assume Desire Z wouldn't get a 3.0 update, if devices like Desire would. And at any rate, the Qualcomm 7230 (Which is the chip in use) is designed to run between 800 and 1000mhz.
The guys designing these devices aren't stupid. They wouldn't release a device (indeed a premier device) if it's going to go obsolete or at least behind within 6 months. Yes, droid devices are constantly moving forward but certainly not that fast. Just don't worry about this kinda stuff.
Thth are recommend specs the g2 will be plenty fast enough
Sent from my HTC Super Hero using XDA App which doesn't have the word iPhone in its vocabulary, and I wish I didn't either all on my custom baked Rom
The 800Mhz proc from the Desire Z is a Dual-Core processor, so, it's better than the 1Ghz proc from my good old HTC Desire ! I think it has the requirements for Gingerbread !

Of course it will.. But mostly it will depend on operation. You can never compare a first 1 generation cpu with later generation by just looking at cpu frequency.
Any link to that supposedly "debunked" minimum hardware reqs ??

is there anything else coming to the market with a qwerty hook up and touch screen?
Im over winmo and want to try an android phone.
Right now i have TP2 and b4 that i had Touch HD
Does Simbian suck?
I need something that i can use when i go to the UK as well, so like Droid X and all that stuff doesnt work for me.
I like this new HTC but everyone talking about 1ghz and dual processors and how its gonna be slow and no front facing cam blah blah blah makes me think twice, or three times even.
Frankly I think the front-facing camera thing is a bit of a white elephant at the moment. I've had one on my phone for about three years now (Win Mo) and I've never used it once. OK that may change as networks get faster, but I see no real need for one now.

There's that Verizon phone that's been floating around recently that had the fire red keyboard. if I'm not mistaken from one of the pics it's a dual mode and has a sim slot though to be honest you will likely pay a huge premium using that or any other phone like t outside the states.
Think it's either a 3.8" or 4" screen.

I am looking to jump from Symbian to Android but am stuck due to the hardware. You might like to consider the Nokia E7 but it's anyone's guess as to when it might actually see the light of day. As an example, the N8 announced six months ago has still not gone on sale yet!
Symbian is functional but I'm afraid that's about all I can say about it from a user perspective. It doesn't have the developer support of the likes of Android and iOS. The point in its favour is the hardware is generally better - better cameras better audio and often better build quality.
Swings and roundabouts I'm afraid ... always the case!
Desire Z using second generation of Qualcomms Snapdragon, as i write in other post, read this:
My opinion : Desire Z is faster .. and do you know why?
So..
Desire HD using Qualcomm QSD8255 -> it is Snapdragon 1st generation

Low-power 45nm process technology for higher integration and performance
High-definition (720p) video recording and playback up to 30 frames per second
Multiple video codecs: (MPEG-4, H.264, H.263, VC-1, DivX, DivX 3.11, Sorenson Spark, VP6)
High-performance GPU - up to 41M triangles/sec and 245M 3D pixels/sec and dedicated 3D/2D acceleration engines for Open GLES 2.0 and Open VG 1.1 acceleration
High-resolution XGA (1024x768) display support
12-megapixel camera support
Built-in eighth-generation gps engine with Standalone-GPS and Assisted-GPS modes
Support for Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connectivity
Multiple audio codecs: (AAC+, eAAC+, AMR, FR, EFR, HR, WB-AMR, G.729a, G.711, AAC stereo encode)
Support for mobile broadcast TV (MediaFLO™, DVB-H and ISDB-T)
Support for Android™, Brew® Mobile Platform and Windows® Phone
So Desire Z have:
CPU on 800MHz .. but not problem go to 1GHz = Same as Desire HD
GPU 2 x better then Desire HD GPU = +1 to Desire Z
45nm technology - Desire HD have 65nm technology = +1 to Desire Z
So in SoC category is Desire Z better then Desire HD.
Regards, MiTMaN
PS: Repair me please when Im wrong.
nice contrib MiTMaNeK

I couldn't find triangles/sec stuff for this one
Note also that this new GPU/CPU combo chip is different to the Snapdragon found in earlier HTC Androids. It is likely that 800MHz on this new chip bears similar performance to 1GHz on another chip.
This is very similar to comparing Intel and AMD CPUs on the desktop. Because different processor designs have varying Instructions-Per-Clock, you can't make a simple comparison between clock frequencies.
The other thing to note is that a major complaint with smart phones (and Android in particular) is terrible battery life when comparing them to feature phones. I'd be happy with a lower maximum clock if it meant longer times between charges.
i think Desire HD using 2nd Generation Snapdragon 1GHz processor which is call Qualcomm QSD825 Scorpion.
So, the Desire HD will should have better performance than Desire Z.
But Desire Z should have better performance than Desire(1st generation snapdragon).
You may check the CPU details at Qualcomm website.
Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts if I should just wait for the toshiba to come out instead of buying a samsung 7.7, both have basically the same screens, the toshiba comes with ics (whereas the samsung is still awaiting that) the toshiba has a better processor, etc, but is heavier and larger, anyone else have any thoughts? One advantage to buying an unlocked international samsung tab 7.7 is I could use it as a phone, whereas the toshiba's phone capabilities will be stunted when it comes to the us. I was holding off for the toshiba, because the screen, and the powerfull chip, but i got tyred of waiting so i bought the p6800. Only regrets?
no ICS. . .
"whereas the toshiba's phone capabilities will be stunted when it comes to the us"
I didnt really get that
is it only gonna be stunted in the US? or it it gonna be stunted everywhere?
the excite have phone call capabilities or not?
I got this tablet for the screen. Halted before purchase to check out the toshiba excite. The clencher was the tegra3 processor. A developer that made a screencasting app can't get it to work on tegra processors, and the only reason I wanted a tablet to screencast drawings I make on it. I know I could have gone with the new ipad, but ---bleck, I hate apple....
Someone get the tosiba 7.7 and we will have devs working to port ics over here ^^

Has anyone seen it in retail?
I've been scouting local Best Buys, Fry's and Office Depot. Nothing in my local stores yet and I've been looking at the overstock in the cages. Best Buy has it listed but that's all...
I think its out next week. I wanna check it out too.

i just bought the Tab 7.7. But if this thing has phone capabilities too then this means I can use my ATT unlimited data phone sim with it. Will likely make the switch. Waiting to hear back from Toshiba about it.
Hello people,
My tablet has a Dual Mali 400, Cortex A9, 512 MB DDR3 and a 800 * 480 display resolution.
At first, the game menu appears rightly, like this: (please replace [DOT][US] with .us )
imageshack[DOT][US]/a/img18/5295/screenshot2012122316173.png
But, when the game actually begins running, this is what i get:
imageshack[DOT][US]/a/img18/5295/screenshot2012122316173.png
The problem is persistant with all HD games, while some of them work better, but the visual quality is disappointing. Do you know why the HD games won't display properly? Is it because of the poor resolution? Or the number of bits are the concern?
I'll appreciate any help
