[Q] Worms Multi-touch Issues - Vega General

Hi All,
Loving my new Vega with VegaComb 3.2 build 7.
However, having a few touchscreen issues when playing games.
For instance, when I pinch to zoom on Worms, the screen becomes unresponsive (home button still works), or it becomes misaligned so none of the buttons work.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Thanks,
Adam

Found out that setting the LCD Density to 160 fixes the issue.
Can only assume the Worms game doesn't support 120 natively.

How does Multi-Touch Work?

I saw some of the ROMs have multi-touch support... What programs work with it and how does it? Thanks
So far, only the browser and a few market apps have been able to officially support multi-touch. This includes the pinching gestures used on an iPhone to zoom in and out. However, in some cases, multi-touch can cause an application to crash when you touch the screen with two fingers (For example, the Steamy Window application will close if you touch it with two fingers). How it works is that the LCD on the G1 supports multi-touch, but to use it, members hacked a kernel and enabled the multi-touch. Overall, multi-touch is a great addition, and I think you should update to a firmware that supports it. Its pretty cool, considering most G1's you will see probably will not have multi-touch, and you can have something to brag about.

[Q] N64oid on xperia play running full speed ?!...

hey people, this guy has zelda - orcana of time running full speed on the white xperia play stock firmware, any ideas how this is possible as mines always laggys, im running 2.3.2 rooted bootloader locked, im using n64oid 1.1.4 i got off the slideme.org website also whats the best way to confiugure the controller for the n64oid, some one i seen has the c buttons on screen and the rest mapped the the hard buttons any suggestions .....?! anyway this is the vid of it running http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6sR1pxupIw
PS. anyone with a o2 uk firmware dump ?.... apparantly they ironed out the bugs with there firmware?.....
Turn sound off and set max frameskip to 8, and it will play smoothly.
Map hardware buttons as close to the pad as possible and yea all c buttons on screen. Make your own tweaks to suit your personal preference for individual games.
Think too that N64oid is so new and needs to be more optimized.
I would like to have support for the Xplay analogs on the next version.
Cheers fir your help ill try the frame skip and onscreen c buttons

[Info] What the Stock Honeycomb 3.2 modified

I had update EeePad to Honeycomb 3.2,
and test some issues in 3.1.
Every thing is so fast now.
I can sure some bugs had been fixed :
1. 90 and 180 degree in home screen is such smooth now
2. Music beta idle when screen off does not appear
3. Stock browser does not show white block when scrolling
4. Youtube plugin works well in stock browser (just testing 720P ...)
5. WEBSTORAGE UI update
6. Some apps are out of screen when scaling up
7. Stock weather widget shows the last update time (but it is real ugly ...)
8. Browser input lag is STILL there ~
so on...
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After charging the battery to FULL in office, I went home.
Until now, my EeePad walked through two states :
1. Suspend mode -> 2 hrs 30min (just screen off)
battery : 100% -> 100%
2. Crazy running -> 2 hrs 20min (web, youtube, music, MV, drama, RSS, FB, ...)
battery : 100% -> 83%
Both these two states are with wifi on.
Seems that 8 hrs continue working is possible for 3.2.

You got the OTA update tonight? Is that what I am reading? What is your location? Thanks!

edit: He beat me to it, lol.
I'd love to know the Splashtop (MyCloud) and PressReader versions. Also is the text selection bug in the stock browser resolved? And are the physical SD and MicroSD cards still writeable?
the splashtop is running the same old version unfortunatey, 1.00.something
one more different thing is the mouse cursor is now a circe instead of the pointer,
and you can do scroll and pinch to zoom using the trackpad now,
its not quite smooth as i like it to be tho
sometimes the machine confuses the two action so becomes a big more laggy

The exact version number is quite important. Asus' Splashtop builds don't match the version numbering of the retail builds. They've made significant changes in past Asus releases with very modest version number changes.
Can you please confirm is the version number still v1.0.0.10-4 r8520? That's the build supplied with the latest OTA patch two weeks ago.
just updated to TW 3.2 and wanted to share for all dock owners
Theres a new "pointer" feature when using the trackpad; basically a circle pointer is on the screen instead of the arrow cursor
Basically it functions the same but gives more area to click?
Also when scrolling webpages with the trackpad, they inverted the direction so moving 2 fingers down now scrolls up and 2 fingers up scrolls down; which ANNOYS me so much, hope they revert it back.
EDIT: PINCH TO ZOOM added on trackpad
However its hard to scroll the pad when the trackpad keeps thinking you want to pinch to zoom
EDIT 2: Scrolling on trackpad better if you use two fingers as close to each other, further apart would make the trackpad recognize as pinch to zoom
that sucks

Gah why can't they just make these things user-configurable? I can 100% guarantee I will not be able to get my head around that, because it is the exact opposite of my laptop touchpad.
youtube app search box bug while playing video still exists, i.e pressing space while in search box while in video playing menu highlights the the other featured videos instead
Hey there,
what about "Battery usage data" in "about tablet"? Is it still not available?
Thanks for info about OTA, will be waiting patiently

To be honest, i think it is more intuitive now because now it scrolls in the same way you would scroll on the tablet screen. But then, i didn't own a laptop to confuse me Just wanted to say i can see why they did revert it.

Is available for me, on 3.1. Guess the "mystery update" caused so.

Yeah, I can certainly understand that some folks prefer it that way. As I said a couple of months back, it's a bit like mouse look in gaming, though. It's something you can't relearn. I started off in gaming with flight simulation, and I learned that forward on the yoke means descend, backwards means climb. I've tried over and over for years to play first person shooters with the opposite directions, but I just can't do it -- the flight sims built something in my brain that expects inverted look.
And that is why Asus shouldn't be forcing a decision like this on us. Some folks will want the scrolling one way, some the other, and for most, they'll never be able to learn to change. Asus needs to make this a user option, and let the user decide what works, because otherwise they're going to have a significant proportion of their users unable to scroll with the touchpad, and feeling like they've been let down.

It's not available for anybody else, so I don't think it's available for you either. My guess is you're not aware what folks are talking about.
We're not talking about the screen where you get an indication of battery consumption alongside hardware status (battery charging, gps use, wifi use, etc.)
On the screen *before* that one, you should get an indication of battery life alongside which individual apps were running, so you can see which apps are using the battery life up.
That works on other tablets. It doesn't (and never has) on the Transformer.

Exactly. Even iCompany gave an option to revert trackpad behavior to "less natural"...
Can anyone else confirm that Battery usage statistics are working? Because on my stock EU TF101 they're broken since first 3.1 OTA. :/ TIA!
Hong Kong already got the updated Android 3.2 with full screen and smooth HD video.

Fantastic. Thanks for that.
Has anyone found out whether it's fixed the the problem with apostrophes showing as HTML entities in the email client?

[Q] Tilt Sensors Way Off

Sky maps worked wonderfully when I first got my tablet a few months ago. However, flashing custom roms seems to have royally screwed up the tilt sensors (I have tried multiple different roms, nothing seems to address it). Compass is okay, but X and Y axes are reversed (i.e. it pitches when it should roll, and vice versa). This happens in both landscape and portrait.
Anyone run into this before, or have any idea how to proceed?
playing SpeedX 3d the tilt sensors worth great, playing table labyrinth where you have to roll the ball through the maze to reach the other side is totally FUBAR, the sensors are opposite of each other which makes it impossible to plays.
So with my finding it works fine with some games and terrible with others.
I noticed the same issue on the a100.

Admittedly, I haven't tried it with too many other apps, but those that I have are problematic (sky maps and several sensor-reading apps). It's frustrating because it used to work just fine with sky maps.
Which version of HC are y'all using, 3.1 or 3.2.
On 3.2 I'm having no problems at all.
Just wondering?
Check out "GPS Status" app on the market, it has an option to calibrate the pitch and roll sensors, maybe you just need a calibration..
It will also show the actual pitch/roll values which may help.

"A Tilt Labrynth" also has a built in calibration tool as well
If I'm not mistaken, those calibration utilities only affect the program that they're part of - they don't have any effect on global settings.
[Edit: I'm using 3.2 (Taboonay 2.1b), though the problem was also present on several other 3.1 and 3.2 roms]
I'm running Skeye and Mobile Observatory on my A500 and havent noticed any problems at all with the x/y axis' being off. Honestly, I haven't paid that much attention since I also have both programs installed on my phone and mostly use it instead since I can mount it to my scope for push-to guidance. But just locating Polaris and other well known objects seem to be spot-on. May want to try another program and see if that fixes the issue.

as that maybe true it would help people figure out of the calibration is off on the tablet. if the calibration is off then we can look into why its happening in stead of what apps are having the issues

Well there's no question that my sensors are off. The only apps that work are those that come bundled with a calibration function. There's a long-standing defect logged with elgoog about the fact that there's no easy way to calibrate, but they've not addressed it yet.
I know some phones come with a calibration function, and others at least have files where one can change the values...

[Q] Accelerometer issue?

In certain apps the axis are swapped - ie horizontal motion affects vertical and vertical motions affect the horizontal. Normal use, most games and a program called Leveller (spirit level type program) it's fine, but in other spirit programs, Krazy Kart Racing and a couple of others, its wrong. I dont know why, cant be the accelerometer if it works most of the time...
Known issue some game manufacturers have added a setting to reverse this.
Look in the game /app setting.
Good luck
