Man is this the stupidest problem ever...
The good news: I finally got my DHD yesterday...
The bad news: The battery cover is as bad as I've been hearing. For some reason I couldn't put it back on. So I pushed the Battery as far in as I could in order to put the cover on. The phone works great, but now the battery is stuck inside and won't slide out by itself and I don't know how to take it out
Please Help...
Put your fingers flat on the table, same width as the battery door.
Rest the DHD on your fingers (so that the battery door is facing the table.
Raise the DHD an inch or two and bring it down on your fingers (not so hard that it hurts).
Keep doing this, the battery will work its way free and drop onto the table.
I'll add a pic in a sec...
Thanks James, this definitely sounds very doable; I'm giving it a try now!
The battery has moved about half an inch now!! This is working *jumping up and down with joy*
I got the battery out!! Why does everyone else's battery just seem to slide out by itself? I thought it was because I pushed it too far in, but even when the battery is half way out, I still have to pull it out with some effort...
Maybe my phone just has a lot of "friction"? When I watch those YouTube videos, everyone seems to glide their fingers smoothly across the screen, but when I do it, it feels very fricative...do you guys put on hand lotion or something...
Do not press the screen too much, only a slightest touch is needed. Also if you have moist hands, it makes swiping the screen harder.

Probably because its a new phone. You have to play with it a little bit until the oil from your skin lubes up the screen. Then its all slidey slides.
I had a similar problem with my first DHD... part of the the plastic wrapper around the battery had folded back on itself along the forward edge of the battery. That caused the battery to get wedged inside. A little trimming of the plastic wrapper with a craft knife fixed it... YMMV

I'm pretty I didn't because the phone was working but seriously I could totally go without the cover; the battery really gets stuck in there when it's inside!

No you can't - the WiFi/BT antenna is in that cover .
would've given you some extra grip tho
Now seriously, if when u look at ur battery there's no visible flaws that u can safely and/or easily remove and if your screen keeps giving you the finger in my opinion you should return it for a replacement. There's been enough faulty hardware cases, the folks at HTC know the drill by now. If that's not an option, sell it on ebay ( or your local online market ) and grab a new one;]

And I was wondering the whole time why that piece of plastic would cost 19 Euros!

AWWW it's just my stupid, clumsy fingers are still trying to learn how to swipe across the screen...think I'm getting a hang of it now ...luckily no major flaws with my DHD so far *knock on wood*

I got an aftermarket battery stuck in my DHD and had basically given up on getting it out until I found this thread. Nice work! Worked a treat after tapping it for what seemed like a couple of minutes.
Slow and steady wins the race!
Cheers guys
Today i took my phone out of my pocket 5 mins after using it previously and i noticed the touch did not respond. Suddenly i noticed the print sensor was getting hot, like near burning my finger. i Quickly took out the battery turned it off.
so now
1. phone works fine
2. touch screen does not work at all
3. having a battery or charger or both plugged in makes it very hott (just at the print reader) i havent tested it too long so dont know how hot.
does anyone have any idea whats going on
im planning on sending it to motorola tomorrow for repair since its past 30 days. this is very very veryyyy annoying.
does anyone know what may have caused this?
also i cant rest it back to stock since the screen doesnt work and i cant activate the loader thing.
thnx any help appreciated.
it seems like a very common problem with atrix phones. send it back or get a different phone. take it to att first.
Sent from HTC EVO
its past the 30 days

Yeah Deal with Moto then, they should send you a new device.
here's one thread on it
http://forum.androidcentral.com/mot...ery-gets-hot-times-heat-proof-back-cover.html
But it's around, some say it's the battery some say it's the cpu (or at least it's getting hot in the area of were the cpu is)
hmm, yes but on mine its the finger print reader itself just, that which heats up very rapidly.
almost like its short circuiting the screen
did you get it fixed?
Similar thing just happened to mine. The reader got super hot and wouldn't detect my fingerprint anymore.
I just turned it off and it seems like its working normally after turning the phone back on.
I'm just thinking if I should get my phone swapped out just in case.
I've been trying to win an atrix in contests because I know it's a 'hot' phone, but Ouch!
Hey,
I've Galaxy Note 4 N910G. It got heat up with use. It got so much heated up that it can iron clothes. I noticed that it happens when I increase screen's brightness, and one biggest thing to notice is that whole body is cool expect the upper part (where camera lies). And in upper portion, screen side is hot when touched. So I remove plastic case and check whether battery or camera, sensor are hot, but it didn't seems to, only the area that lies under receiver is hot when touched.
I concluded brightness factor due to following reason:
-I've played GTA LCS to a very long period in very low brightness and phone didn't heat up a lot, but yes, a little.
-I've then played the same for very same period but with mid brightness and phone started heating up, then a lot!
-I've used my Note 4 for a very long time downloading and installing apps in minimum brightness and it doesn't heat up.
-I've played on the music with screen off for a long time, and it still don't heat up.
-While backing up or doing anything in TWRP recovery it get heat a lot.
It doesn't mean that I should you Note 4 with minimum brightness. It was running on stock firmware, so I flashed Dr. Kretan custom Rom, I thought it would help, but it doesn't.
Please help me, what should I do?
Hmm that's a strange part that heats up since the CPU is on the side near the power button. https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/rZAAWFWV4qobuSI4.huge
Normally when a device gets hot at a certain point other than the CPU it usually is water damage or a broken IC (component) on the mainboard.

i guess its snapdragon chip problem, mine gets heat up but not until where i can iron clothes, as twrp backup doesnt heat mine, flashing and booting rom for the first time will heat up. i always try to cool it before anything bad happens

Thanks for your answers. I notice this thing again with Xposed module for CPU temperature in status bar. And you got it right, it is CPU issue, so, how can I fix it? Should I underclock CPU? Or is there anything on market like some heat sink compound! I really have no idea. Ironing of cloth is just saying to show what I'm talking about, currently when it get heat up, I put it in front of Air Conditioner! I appreciate your answering.

i do that too when i feel like its really getting hotter, you can underclock cpu abit but no too low. any other method to fix that heating im not sure. i guess underclock and play your phone in a cold room is the solution
LG G5 *Note Verizon acknowledged this was indeed an issue!
I wanted to mention something quickly to perhaps save others heartbreak.
I run and use the eleptical for extended periods of time. Mind you, My pockets are not wet but perhaps damp After an hour or more. I took my phone out and made sure I was not drowning. To my surprise the phone was dry except a small amount of moisture near the rear finger sensor.
It seemed nothing of concern. After exercising was completed, the fingerprint sensor was non responsive and intermittent. I got home, looked at the device, it was acting erratic. Screen was turning on and off as if someone was pressing the sensor 50 times a second, battery got very hot (not note 7 hot).
I could no longer power down phone, pulled battery. When battery was inserted phone booted but back button was no use, can't power down, turn off screen.
I read somewhere, don't quote me. Exercise creates a barrier of 2 inches of 80% moisture barrier when doing hard cardio.
Too lazy to find article, not good at story time.
Fix: 5.00 waterproof pouch with lanyard.
The best!
Thank you so much for taking your time writing this! I'll thank that to my attention as someone who lives in an extremely humid area in terms of, my sweat never dries unless i wipe it on a different object, and since the sweat wouldn't evaporate, it will build up and can reach situations where it's dropping off my forehead when i stare down the ground, so my clothes could get extremely wet when I sweat, never thought about it harming the phone, preheps since I don't really exercise.
But sure as hell gonna keep that in mind when it comes to heavy duty!

Hello,
I just had something similar happen with my LG G5.
I got hot & sweaty picking berries, with phone tucked in my bra. The phone seemed fine at the time, but within an hour of finishing, the phone stopped working. The water damage indicator is fine, as if no water damage. But unable to use the screen or back power button.
Is the phone just trash now?
It's been 3 hours of letting it sit with the battery removed, and still no improvement.
Thank you for your help.
I don't know why it heats up when it's in my pant pocket. Is pressure the reason? The battery drains because of it. Anyone have any idea?

Using fingerprint lock? It might be the reason.
My best guess is only your pocket is too tight ( yeah because of the pressure ), so the phone doesnt get enough air to cool itself ? I guess soo...
If you said battery drains because of it, maybe apps draining the battery
Does it happen even its laying down on table or any surface ?
Bonus : When you are using phone and get direct sunlight, the screen will get hot too and not because of your phone idling or something( ofcourse )
Its because of the fingerprint sensor....
The fingerprint detects even very little amount of dust on it that invisible to the eye....
When that happens your goes out of deep sleep because of the cdfinger wakelock....
So you can turn off the sensor or if your phone is rooted use naptime... It helps me, my phone never drains battery when its not in use even for 7-8 hrs.....
Also if you're gonna use fingerprint then keep it clean always.
