Hi,
I have been searching for about 2 days for a solution to my problem (my and of many others):
There are several XT9 support packages on the web, but none of them seems to work on Polaris.
I have tried "all" of them. Various languages, various combinations.
Even in this Polaris forum are some not functional packages posted.
The installation was successful, but pressing any character would type numbers only.
Uninstalling the installed package got me always back and repaired the problem.
I am looking for Slovak pack, but I have seen people from all over Europe facing the same problem.
If someone has a solution please post it here.
Have a day!

At least LIE to us and say you used the search function. But you didnt... (see attachment).
There is no solution available. It doesnt seem to work, I suggest you flash one of the custom ROMs around or wait for a Slovak one.

Thank you for accusing me of lies... You know it probably better if I have searched or not.
They guys in the thread you have mentioned talk about T9.
Isn't there a "slight" difference between T9 and XT9?
I am getting confused of all tips that do not work. (One of them on the first page of sticky thread "HTC Polaris tweaks and tricks #17".)
You are the first one to say "There is no solution available." I'll settle with that for now.
Thank you for responding.

Freaky keybrd
I've the same problem. Time-to-time htc keyboard refuses to print something except numbers. My solving is to quit the application in which I try to print, and launch it again. Everything goes ok at second time, but this situation confuses me a lot.
I liked my orbit 1 t9 key pad which i found on this forum however it doesn't work on the orbit 2. I’m finding the HTC one very hard to use.
Oh no buddy, you got me wrong. Please check again, I said you SHOULD have lied, not that you did It's just quite obvious you know, there are 2 threads, almost the same subject, covering the same topic, and like right above each other (this is an unedited screenshot, thats why)...
xT9 is the successor of T9 and it's the only form of text prediction available on the Polaris. There is no T9 anymore. xT9 is supposed to be better, more advanced, but all I see is user complaining. Obviously Tegic (the inventors) didnt do a very good job in making it better and more advanced... Kind of like Microsoft all the time
Sorry for the missunderstanding then.
Hi all
Finally, I jumped into the Android world and just got an HTC Magic. It works great for me even with the original 1.5 rom.
The only problem is the Morelocate 2 app that I downloaded from Market. I would like to change the user interface to Japanese, I visited a lot of forums and I think Morelocate 2 is the best solution up to now. I installed it without problem. However, the user interface had not been charged after I press Japanese option on Morelocate 2. For my understanding, this app is pretty straight forward. I suppose that I press the language I want and the interface language change. However, I got no luck. But I can view Japanese on my device.
I wonder if there are anything that I missed, e.g. extra fonts or something else. That will be great if anyone can share the experience for this app.
Thanks a lot
Im new to the whole Windows Mobile world and having serious issues with adding keyboards, fonts, etc... Ive always had Blackberry and im used to using and modding that, figured it was time to move on and got the HD2 and now im confused as hell! Can someone please post links, how to, to download the HTC IME keyboard? Also how to add fonts? this is really irritating.. Ive searched and searched and still cant figure out how to get the keyboards and fonts on my phone ... Any help is greatly appreciated!
Any1???????
Just curious, but where did you find the buttons and such? Posting link-backs will give us a chance to see what you are talking about instead of trying to guess.
Did they not have instructions on how to install them?
Did you perchance download the versions meant for chefs, that are designed to be cooked in the kitchens and not installed directly?
Also, for me, please refrain from big caps in your post title when asking about such matters. Let's leave that for the folks with bricked phones, k?
While we are on the subject of etiquette, posting a bump less than 24 hours after your original post is a wee bit pushy. Especially when that bump doesn't say "Bump"
So hit me back with those links and I'll see if I can help you a bit.

Adding fonts into WinMo is much the same like WinPC. Just put it into \Windows\Fonts directory.
But on further reading and 2nd guessing what you are trying to say above, it appears that you want to be able use that installed font when the keyboard is activated. Is that correct ?
Isn't HTC IME keyboard already available in the HD2 ? Or are you looking for different language input ?
FYI, I had a bad experience with trying to add Traditional Chinese input capability when installing an extracted HTC Ezinput IME from another stock ROM. See http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611894&page=2
State clearly what you are trying to achieve so that others can help.

Actually, this forum is for people to help people. Voluntarily. As in, for free. When you ask someone for help, it is generally considered a good idea to adhere to certain protocols, such as being polite and thankful for what help you do receive.
Now, since you obviously are not interested in my help, I leave you to the graces of others. I am also adding you to my ignore list, since you decided to call me a "smartass". Good luck to you.
Zen, Thanks for the reply! When i connect my HD2 to the PC (running on Vista) i cant access ny Windows folder on the phone for some reason, so i cant add a font .. No, the HD2 does not come with the IME keyboard. I am just looking for a English version to download for a Windows device.. If i google it, everything comes up for a Droid.

Was you phone connected via ActiveSync or "Disk drive mode" ?
I can't remember off my head but one of them - I take my bet on ActiveSync - will make Windows folder inaccessible. You could have copy into "My Document", remove phone from PC and then move it again via File Explorer.
I still don't get the part about HTC IME that you don't have . What it the ROM version you have ? Go to Start > Settings > About Phone > Software Information. Post the info.
There is Swype, Finger keyboard in the forum. Search for it.
Gotta go offline 24-hr in the next 15 mins or so.

IME stands for Input Method Editor i.e. on-screen software keyboard.
I am using QQ pinyin input which allows me to input Traditional Chinese. The option to select HTC's default IME, which is called Ezinput, is still there. I do not see the need to use HTC IME since QQ pinyin input has all the capabilities and more. Since HTC IME is in the ROM, I can't remove it either without flashing a cooked ROM.
So how do you type/input text into any apps ?

To make the windows available you need to have your PC set to show protected files. On a side not please watch the swearing in the forums.

You want something like in the screenshot.
That's the QQ input I talked about. No, I don't think it is suitable for you since you do not require chinese input.
Let me dig around. Just keep watching this post.

Yes sir, Exactly like that 1. How do i go out installing that?
Take a look and consider:
Fingerkeyboard2 v2.1 (freeware)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501122
Resco keyboard (commercial)
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/indepth.asp
One thing, I wish to point out is that the version date seems to pre-date WM6.5 actual release. I came across one software which allows for Chinese input, released in May 09 but had read forum complaints about paid users who was not able to get it to work on WM6.5 and that software company acknowledged it. I finally settled on QQ input although it is still in beta which I normally would not even consider installing.
Perhaps try out Fingerkeyboard2 first since it is free and also, you can post questions if the need arises.

[Q] A MIUI ROM with multi-lingual T9 support? (aka. "I can't find the ROM for me")
Hello everyone.
I keep playing around with my phone, trying all sorts of ROMs. As you can read in my sig, the "main" ROM I use is WinMo6.5 Energy, which, as far as WinMo ROMs go, is pretty darn sweet.
But I'd really REALLY like to give NAND Android a go.
Unfortunately, every version I try seems to have something missing, and I'm having a hard time finding one that's "just right". Especially since the features I'm looking for aren't at all so bizarre I think.
Sense ROMs lack "cleanliness" due to the graphical glitches. I know it's not the chefs fault, but until HTC kindly releases the source code, I think I'd rather stay clear of those.
Typhoon Cyn ROMs are smooth and fast, but the really interesting loader features require me to make a purchase. It's not an expensive application, but I'm a "try before you buy" sort of person. I can't really tell if I'd like to use it unless I keep using it on my phone for a few days first.
And finally, there's MIUI ROMs, which are awesome except for one, main thing: they lack a localized T9 dialer. I'm from Poland, and as you could expect, I've got a bunch of people in my contacts list who have weird letters like Ś or Ł in their names and NOT being able to dial their numbers (EDIT: dial their numbers "quickly" I should add) is a huge problem.
The only thing I found so far is this: http://forums.miuiandroid.com/showthread.php?7898-MOD-Multilanguage-T9-dialer-(ES-RU-GR-PL)
However, this doesn't seem to work: it installs fine, and then... nothing. An earlier version of this mod, which required manual install via recovery, DID enable the T9 dialer, but one of the main settings app would constantly FC afterwards.
There's also a small matter of MIUI ROMs having trouble with the theme manager and no smooth "flip" animation. Both of these are minor complaints however.
So... the question I'm laboriously trying to get to is this: Is there a MIUI ROM for the HD2 which would have a multilingual T9 dialer buil-in? If not, has anyone managed to get that mod working with any recent MIUI ROM on XDA and if so, how? Finally, perhaps some kind soul read my post and thought "ahh, I know exactly what this lad needs"... in which case, please share this knowledge.
If anyone is interested in instructions, please let me know.
Currently I'm in a middle of exams period so it may take a few weeks.
But I'll make it if to popular demand. :good:
Please, could you write it for me now?
HI Elia. I'm interested in hearing how you got the fonts working. I seem to have Hebrew in some places (such as Opera Mobile) but not in others (Ankidroid). Did you just replace the extant fonts with fonts that have Hebrew glyphs? Is there anything else that needs to be done?
Thanks!

i would like to get advise on enabling hebrew on nook simple touch
Me Too
I just downloaded The Scriptures 1998 version and would also like to know how to have the Hebrew words displayed. Currently, my Nook HD is not even showing the letters, just boxes.
you need root, rename your hebrew supported font to an existing android font and replace it in system/fonts (make a backup before)
