What changes does the ota bring to the incredible software wise? Like changes to radio or prl etc?I have an unrooted dinc on boost mobile and need to know if downloading the update will ruin my flash thanks.

I don't know much about boost mobile, but I would have to say you should probably wait until someone gets a new version of the flashing method for Gingerbread. It brings a new radio and kernel as far as I know.

VZW removed the update because they are working on a fix got the e911 bug. You can flash the update from the dev section, or better yet, make the jump to 2.2
How stable is 2.2....and should I wait for the new update before I root

Can someone post the link to flash the radio from the 4-1.8.3 UPDATE? I am on that current firmware right now but flash the 1.87 radio on top of the update to see which would give me better speeds but I find that the radio from the 1.8.3 update has better battery life
I think its 1.77.15 if im not mistaken

Are you using a p. rom like gingerblur? If so you have to flash back to be able to access updates

I think you'll get that when your phone is up do date. There is no update ready for release yet.
Edit: I powered down my phone and restarted and checked again. It gave me a different message. It stated that my phone was up to date.

Hi guys. I am in the process of flashing a ROM for my wife's D2. From all of my reading on here, it seems she should be on 2.3. However her system is still 2.2. Am I misinformed? I've hit the system update on her phone, but it says her phone is up to date. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

2.2 = Android verion
2.3.2 = Verizon update
I'm in the same situation, I'm on android 2.2 and system update says no update available. ..

You can be rooted and still receive an update, correct? I know you would lose root privledges, but I am trying to remember if I had to unroot or not.
I'm not able to get the update either (which is basically all I should be writing in this post), but I'm going to just attribute that to my flashing the tbh all in one back to froyo.

I think you need to be unrooted and have all stock apps.

I'm rooted, and the update downloaded by itself. Of course, the only way I'm gonna install it is when a version of cm7 GB is out that has amazing battery life.

Which that wouldn't even work bc its not rootable.

The CM7 has a version for the OTA GB. I've been running it since I ran the OTA.

Root using D3 method, then install the latest CM7 Nightly. I'm running it right now, overclocked to 1.3ghz. This phone is stupid fast and the battery life is killer.
I want to convert my brothers epic back to stock without root or custom roms or anything...i just want to update through the sprint updates to 2.3. I think right now it is on a 2.1 rom...so how would i go about getting it on the official sprint updated 2.3 ginerbread?
thanks
Why nit just flash an ei22 rom ... it will keep Witt and update you. The almost stock rom works good.

Yes here is the thread to help you revert it to EC05 to get the OTA from Sprint:

Also as mentioned you could always just flash a custom Gingerbread ROM like Legendary.

Reccomend this cause the stock update kinda breaks gps and has dreadful keyboard skips.

My GPS survived the update without incident. I then rooted and flashed.
I agree with the other posters, I did the same as you're trying to do, and while I found it to be a very nice update, I liked the ACS ICS v5 ROM much more. It is EI22 Gingerbread as well.
