This is a kind of generic question...
Do we have a list of 'things' like libraries and files that are required by the wifi calling application?
I used to have a MyTouch 4G but then gave it up to my sister. Then my cousin gave me an AT&T Atrix 4G. Now I am trying to somehow get this wifi calling app from MyTouch 4G to work on the Atrix.
From what I understand, simply installing wifi calling apk will not be sufficient. There must be some build.prop changes to go along...
Any ideas?
wow...anyone?

Anyone with the 3G version of the Xoom has the Verizon 3G Hotspot app come standard install? I don't see it on mine. I can't seem to find it on the app store either.
It's in Settings->Wireless & networks-->Tethering & portable hotspot
Enjoy!
oh, i saw that..didn't know that activated the app. thanks
It's not an app - it's an included feature in the OS w/Verizon
Hey everyone, I want to enable the wifi hotspot on my aT&T atric, the problem i have is that i have un unlocked atrix and im in Chile. All the intructions i find are for AT&T and adding AT&T APN, is there any other way to enable this for users outside of AT&T?

Thanks for the reply, i saw that already but i´m looking for a way to enable the native wifi hotspot trhat the atrix comes with.
Hi!
I'm at Colombia, and I was able to use the AT&T hotspot, until the 1.83 update .
After that, it did not work anymore.... When I tried to activate it, asked about AT&T authorization or something like that .
Then, I rooted my Atrix and now use Barnacle.... a lot better than AT&T's hotspot.
Hope it helps.
well, modding the build.prop worked for me in Mexico. Anyway, barnacle and wifitetherforrootusers is adhoc, so you will want official hotspot
On my atrix there are multiple APN's. There's AT&T US, AT&T US HSDPA, AT&T US Tether, and AT&T US MMS. They're all pretty much self explanatory except for the difference between AT&T US and US HSDPA; what's the difference? Also, does the phone switch between APN's automatically if you tether or use mms?
I tried creating a new APN so I could tether without buying a tethering plan using the settings here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11493471&postcount=193
Do I need to set up a new one because the default APN will switch to AT&T US Tether and AT&T will track that?
That actually didn't work, my computer only has limited connectivity when it connects to the network. Does anyone know why? I'm thinking of trying Barnacle Tether if I can't get the APN to work, but will AT&T be able to see I'm tethering if I use that?
Tether is for them to know you are tethering using at&t's method. That way they can monitor usage. Hspa is 4g. Install custom rom and use mobileap. If not, root and use android wifi tether.
You need to install customs rom which support it

which support what
Not sure what you're talking about.
Hi folks,
I just got this phone yesterday (LG G2) and I enjoy the wifi calling since i don't get any service in my area. I want to root my phone so i can throw some roms on there but I have two questions:
1. when I put on a custom rom, will wifi calling still work?
2. I have unlimited 4g LTE. the T-Mobile sales rep say that I have 2.5gb dedicated to tethering. Will the custom rom ignore that 2.5gb limit?
Thanks
Hey guys been doing some searching do not have a definitive answer. I know Verizon Wireless recently enabled wifi calling on their network for iOS and select android devices which was back at the end of last year. As Android has native support wifi calling since Lolipop I believe, does anybody know if wifi calling works on nexus 6p with a verizon SIM card inserted? I have read different places its part of advance calling, or you may need the verizon messages app, so conflicting information, my new job provides me a phone with VZW, I am currently on T-Mobile do not want to carry two phones but VZW gets next to no service in my neighborhood, talking 1 or 2 bars of 1X only! Any help would be appreciated.
There is currently no wifi calling on VZW and the nexus 6P unless you use VZW's message+ app.
I'd be surprised if any non VZW Android phone ever gets it.

Thanks! But the wifi calling definitely works with that app installed? I use google voice so SMS isnt what I am looking for as that always works on wifi, I am talking about actual phone calls lol which I know in this day and age is crazy talk
Edit - you mean this app right? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.verizon.messaging.vzmsgs
yeah that's the app. It has a voice call option, I just put the phone in airplane mode and enabled wifi. It would NOT make a call so maybe I have no idea what the heck I'm talking about.
