[Q] DMClient won't let me update - Eee Pad Transformer General

I've been looking and haven't found anyone with a fix to this issue.
I just got my TF tablet today (its not even rooted yet) and when i go to the update screen i get:
"The application DMClient (process com.asus.dm) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
I've factory reset twice now, cleared the cache and force closed the DMClient in the application settings to no avail. It's also rather annoying cuz it pops up randomly too.
Does anybody know how I can fix this and get it updated?

i've got the same error today.

Me too...

I had the same - the only way of stopping this error from popping up was to stop the service and clear the cache.
Looking at the cache at the time of the error, I do not see any updates, so I presume that this gets buggered when the update notification comes in.
The FOTA system sucks big time and hasn't given me nothing but trouble since I owned the Transformer.
Asus should offer the firmware update on their site right away.
I just did a factory reset and will return the thing for a refund tomorrow before the returns policy expires. I've had enough.
The experience I had with this platform has been piss-poor and it became apparent very quickly that the underlying platform is Linux - if you love tinkering great, if you simply want it to work get something proper.

Unfortunately, S Health has stopped

So I had this lovely pop up on my phone last night. The message was "Unfortunately, S Health has stopped" along with the "OK" button. The kicker was that after clearing it, it would pop back up after a few seconds. I cleared the cache to no avail. I rebooted to just have it pop back up after it fully loaded all the apps. Battery pull rendered the same results.
My phone is all stock - with no crazy updates or recent app downloads that I could point to as potentially causing the issue.
I did find one resolution - I thought I'd mention it here in case others find themselves in this situation. Between clearing the pop up message - work your way to the Settings->Applications->Application Manager. From there - scroll down to S Health and once selected you can turn it off.
Now - I kind of liked having the pedometer - so I was trying to get it up and running again without doing a factor reset. I found that clearing the app data, deleting cache and uninstalling the update did the trick. I had to do it 2 times with reboots after clearing out all the data before it ultimately came back without issues. I had to recreate my profile again and historical data seems to have been lost.
I'm not sure if there might have been a better way to do it - but just thought I'd mention this issue here.

S Voice - Galaxy S7 edge Issue?

Recently, I factory reset my device and continued to update and install all my apps again. After countless hours of setup, I go into setup S Voice (setting up Wake Up command and what not), then I restarted.
Now, when I go to ask S Voice a question, be it "tell me a joke" or "what time is it?" I usually get the response "Please try again" or "I am unable to assist you, please restart the application" after waiting for about 30 seconds or sometimes the app just shows the loading circle and doesn't respond with anything, going back to the mic button again. Nothing further is reported just that. I must say on my previous device the Galaxy S6, Svoice worked fine! I could ask it these questions without a hiccup, but now these problems arise.
I have cleared the app's data and cache as well as uninstalling all updates to the app and reinstalling all updates (as I thought maybe the update download got corrupted) and yet the problem persists. I restarted the device too, still a no go. One thing I must mention though, commands such as "open Gallery" work fine and open instantly.
Please help!

Trusty Note 4 Booting Issue!!

Hey guys, I have had my Note 4 for about 3 years now and it has never done me wrong. However, things have taken a turn for the worse... I started noticing a few days ago that it was slowing down on me, I mean, really slowing down. Big lag times when it comes to swiping to open the screen, or changing between apps, and the occasional self-shut down when the battery got down to about 15-20%. I had been putting off doing a self-update for a while, and when I finally had time to do one tonight, in hopes of cleaning it up, it is now lying on its death bed
I do not think the update ever finished (my phone is not rooted) but I was desperate enough to even do a factory reset and that has not fixed the issue.
Here are the symptoms:
As I go to boot the phone, I get past the Samsung Note logo and it looks like it is about to load properly, but then I get a popup that says "Unfortunately, the process com.android.phone has stopped" I hit ok and it keeps popping up again. I can't bypass it.. Then after I get passed that for a split second, another popup comes up that says "unfortunately system UI has stopped" It prevents me from getting to the home screen, in fact the screen behind it is black.
I have tried the following:
Clearing the cache partition from the recovery screen
I have done numerous hard restarts
I have gone through with a factory restart
That is where I have left off, and lost most hope, was with the factory restart. Now when I turn it on, I get past the logos and I can see in the background the page you would get as if it was a brand new phone (it says "Welcome! Preparing you device for first time use.." etc. But I can't do anything about it because I am still getting the same two popups that prevent me from doing absolutely everything!!!)
I have read about this happening and people seem to be able to fix this by accessing certain app setting and either resetting them, or clearing their cache. However, that is not an option for me because I can't get that far. I think something must have went wrong during the update...
Please help with any advice you can think of. I have been putting off rooting this phone pretty much because I was afraid of royally f****** it up, but at this point I am willing to try anything.
Thanks,
Eric
Hey guys, does anyone have any suggestions for my issue?? I am about to go out and buy a new phone, I have no idea what I can do to fix this. I have rooted it using Odin, but the popups are still occurring. I can't get the popups to stop, and they are preventing me from doing absolutely everything.
Is there anyway I can get it to go back to complete scratch? Again, I have done a factory reset, cleared the cache, rooted using Odin. I have done everything I can think of/what I have read I can do. I am willing to try anything at this point.
UPDATE: At this point my phone is on, and the only error message/popup I am getting is "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." Behind that popup is a blank, black screen. The only option I have is to click ok, and the screen remains black.
Temporary solution that might work- Try logging in safe mode: Switch off the phone. Power it on and as soon as Samsung logo appears, release the power button and press and hold the volume down button. Release button when you see Safe Mode on the lower left corner of the screen. Try uninstalling all user apps in safe mode. To get back to the normal mode you can drag down from notification and disable safe mode.
You could also download the latest software for your model from samfirm and flash it via odin after factory reset. Could be a permanent solution.
why you just flash last frimware from sammobile,it will solve all your problems
SOLVED!!!
Alright guys, I was able to solve my problem, all thanks to this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-sprint/general/stock-tar-odin-flashable-t3250864
I had already tried flashing a fresh stock rom, but to no prevail. I saw this thread and thought, hey why not give it a shot, and bingo! After downloading the .tar file for marshmellow and launching it through odin, she was good as new! So if anyone seems to have a problem with the system ui or the process phone.android popup, I suggest that thread.

Galaxy s7 Edge launching Google assistant continuously, maybe a hardware failure?

Been a while since I had any issues with a phone I couldn't fix, but this is usually the best place to come when you run into something weird. Whilst I very much suspect that my phone has reached the end, there maybe something I can do if someone here has seen this before and managed to fix it.
A couple of days ago my phone started acting weird. Google assistant would start up for no apparent reason. Sometimes if I was in an app I'd just get a pop-up message but at other times I'd be taken to my home screen. The frequency came and went, but at it's worst it would happen every few seconds and would last for a good 5-10 minutes.
Thought it was just something weird in the OS so I booted back to the factory reset menu, wiped the cache and the system partition and started again. That didn't work. The start-iup process began with voice assistant turned on and every button click requiring activation and double clicking. I've since tried 5 factory resets.
I've disabled Google Assistant now and removed any updates. I've wiped out it's cache and tried all of the settings to make it stop so I no longer get Google Assisitant launching, but I do get something happening which asks me to "complete action using" and shows me the Samsung internet app, S Voice and Quick dial.
This is making me wonder if I'm looking at a hardware problem. I've switched everything off and given everything a good clean just in case one of the buttons has something stuck in it but that hasn't changed the situation.
If anyone here has any ideas or suggestions then they would be very gratefully received.
Thank you
Clean dalvik cache and update stock software through odin or custom rom may solve your problem
Thanks, will give it a go, forgot about the dalvik cache in the last reset so a good heads up. Will have to look into Odin, not had to use that in years.

Apps won't update

I am not sure if this is an Android or Galaxy issue so please redirect me if necessary.
I have a new S10 plus which has worked perfectly well since the beginning of January until a couple of weeks ago. It has the latest firmware. Suddenly, updates have stopped happening either automatically or manually. I notice that there are umpteen reports of this in many forums going back a couple of years and there is a wealth of advice as to how to fix it. I have tried them all many times (Play store cache, Play Services cache, rebooting, closing recent apps etc.) to the point where I gave up trying to find a solution and wiped the phone. It took a long while to restore some 200 apps but all came back and the first lot of updates updated correctly. However, a day or so later, the problem returned with apps only partially downloading or getting to 100% then not installing.
There was one "fix" I hadn't tried as I came upon it late on. I started the phone in safe mode. As soon as I did, the update whizzed through. However, after a normal restart, the problem was back. So I have a messy solution that I can apply when the list builds up but this is far from satisfactory.
This is where my ability and knowledge comes to an end. I am presuming that one of the apps that doesn't load in safe mode is causing the problem.....or is it? Could this be a system app? What can I do next? Is there an error log that could pin-point the cause of the problem?
Many thanks.

I noticed this issue as well. I use Aptoide to get updates faster and updating either Play Services/Store got mine to start working again
I have play store issues too.
One issue is i have to clear cache and force stop Playstore and services to get a list of updates to show up. I keep hitting check for updates and nothing, but when i do the above i get some updates appear straight away
Another issue is my list of beta apps dissapears every night at 9pm and magically reappears next morning at 9am. This also makes the security updates for play services in biometrics security settings dissapear at the same time. After months of arguing with Google and them blaming Samsung, telling me im running beta firmware (which i never installed beta, i went straight to Android 10 Stable) doing a complete factory reset and clean install, the problems still prevailed, then i found an old nexus 10tablet and installed my google account. When the beta apps ect dissapears from my S10plus it also simultaneously dissapears from the nexus 10.
The nexus 10 only has Android 6, has a different version of playstore and services. Yet Google Still insist its because my S10plus is only on beta firmware, even though i sent them about phone screenshots.
Its pretty obvious that this is some kind of syncing issue with Google servers and playstore services
But they refused to take ownership of the issues.
