Hi friends,
I have a issue for image crop during edit contact and select image.
If I go to All Contacts -> Select Image -> Edit Contacts ->Hit "More" button and click on the right side box for Image... and I select an image taken from Mobile Cam... I dont get the Crop util and entire image is used for Contact Image and the image quality get destroyed.
Now If I got to Peoples TAB and ADD an existing Contact it will prompt for selecting contact picture and It gives the Crop option
What is wrong in Edit Contacts so that does not provide with Crop?
I use below relevant packages from Leo.
Album v3.2.20171632.00
Contact Utility Engine v1.2.20183320.00
Social Networks Engine v1.1.20182024.00
New Contact Card v1.1.20181421.0
Thanks.
EDIT1:
When I hit "More" button at the end of the edit contact screen it takes me to WM Default edit contact, NOT the Sense Edit Contact. From Sense Edit Contact the Crop option is working.
EDIT2:
Sorry for this post. I just understood that there is NO CROP utility from the default Windows Mobile edit contact screen. The Crop works from HTC Screens.

I need to use standart edit contact dialogbox....
I only know Display() method in IContact in Outlook Object Model
But this method shows display dialog box...
I think, there is method like this for show edit dialogbox
(for example, when cprog adds new contact, it shows edit dialogbox without shows display dialogbox)
Is there any way of enlarging the image displayed when a call comes in? Mine is half a finger nail, and pointless. Doesn't seem to change no matter the size of the original photo.
Simply open up the contact picture on your desktop PC and resize the image
The WM5 will store the picture as a property of the contacts in 72x72 no matter the size of original picture.
yes picture seems to be stored in pim.vol (contact\appt info) the only way i found to get picture better is use a cropped rectangle picture vertically longer so the resulting image seems to come out about 75 x 120 - hope that helps
Appreciated. R
On my old Jam, it would allow you to pick what size you wanted the contact pic to be. Like you guys, the photo ID is tiny and useless. Is there a program to organize the photo ID's like on the JAM?
If you want gaint person pictures try Photo Contacts (std or pro) over at http://www.pocketx.net. Also has a neat cropping program so you can make contact pictures from existing photgraphs...
photo contacts pro is ugly... I would like the pic to fill the pop up window in an incoming call like IA Caller on 2003SE used to do Besides, photo contacts pro dows NOT get the pics you've allready assign in Contacts... you got to assign them allover again

You wouldn't want to use the pictures from contacts because they are tiny, 72x72, and when photo contacts pro would blow it up it would look absolutely horrible. Personally I enjoy the feature that PhotoContacts lets your crop any picture. And saving the pictures is even easier, all you do is name the file using the name of your contact and put it in the photoContacts folder.
"I would like the pic to fill the pop up window in an incoming call like IA Caller on 2003SE" when I try to do this with photo contacts pro, the text "Incoming Voice Call" keeps hidden under the pic the full screen option is just ugly.. with big ugly buttons...
I just figured out how to set mp3 ringtones for the Sony Xperia... but I'm wondering if there is a way to set a different ringtone for each contact in my phonebook ??
Yes open the contact and scroll to the bottom
I opened up the contact, and it shows their name , call, and send text message only. When choose "edit" to edit the contact, I can only change their name and number. Can you be more specific please ?
When I edit a contact I have 20+ things I can change about that one person. One of those is 'Ring tone'. Might be some of the SPB software adding it but I doubt it....
Ohh, ok thanks! I found it in the SPB panel, but it's not there in the windows mobile contact for some reason..
I think it depends on how you have the contact saved. The option to add a ringtone to a contact might only be available if the contact is saved to the phone, not the sim card.
search for vippimringtone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309837
On my X1, this is how i get to do it.
1) open contacts from start menu.
2) select the contact to edit. You should now see a screen with options like call mobile, call home, etc
3) click onthe name of the contact, and you should now see a screen with a lot of options for that contact.
4) scroll down until you see the option for ring tone. now click in the text space for the ringtone drop down selection box.
Hope this helps. There are also a lot of other useful options to be found on that screen, like setting pictures for contact. birthday reminders, etc.
I've always peferred to use Phone Dialler's keypad to search for a Contact by pressing a few alpha/numeric keys -
then I used press the contact that I'm looking for and select SMS or call mobile or home phone, or email.
With TouchFlo 3D's Phone Dialler HD, however, this is not practical as it AUTOMATICALLY DIALS THE CONTACT instead of OPENING IT to allow you to chose your contact option (as in WM dialler).
I don't want to go back to WM6 Dialler because I like everything else but -
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT FROM AUTO DIAL (selected contact) TO AUTO OPEN CONTACT?
Maybe there's a registry setting that can be changed?
PS. I'd also LOVE to be able to make the SCREEN FONT for SMS's in the TouchFlo 3D MESSAGES Tab, any Ideas?
(MUN zoom doesn't work properly on HD)
What is a MUN zoom?

Mun Zoom was invented for Diamond and consists of a + and - magnifying glass icons. Never really worked properly on Diamond and doesn't work properly on HD.

Yeah, this is an issue that has been discussed here before and as far as I know, there is no ideal solution for it. At least no one here has found any.
The only suggestion I have is to slide over (rather than tapping) the contact name when in the caller ID screen. This of course flips through the various phone entries for the given contact. However, it also means that it selects that contact without calling. Once selected, you have to press Menu (bottom right) and then "open contact". This is the same as opening your contacts list and tapping on a contact.
By the way, once you are in that screen, tapping on a number will initiate a call (or sms depending on what you tap), and tapping on the name of the contact (or picture) will open the contact file for you to edit it.
Like I said, caller ID screen is not ideal, but my suggestion might be a good enough "work around" for you. If you have a lot of contacts in your contact list, then my suggestion is faster than entering the contact list and finding that particular contact.
As far as your sms screen question - sorry, I don't know how.
Can anyone please tell me how to change the default android robo icon that comes up when i make a call or receive call with a custom pic of my choice.
Any app for this ?
For setting it as your caller id , go to the picture you want in your gallery, select 'set as' and choose contact icon. Simple as that
For the picture when you call someone, if you have set a picture from the gallery or synced with Facebook, the picture would change to the contact's picture automatically and no change is needed.

Just to add to it, the contact should be in phone and not in sim..
how do i know or change where contact is because othe steps did not work still ringing with default picture thing little green man thing
That would involve editing that default contact caller id img in phone.apk of your rom.
You need to decompile the apk, make your changes, compile.

For sense roms;
Select the person from people app. on top right there is a "linked" thingy. touch that. now you'll see a picture on top left. there is an arrow right next to that picture. click on that arrow.
now select an option you wish.
