Prevent Audo Dial when a Contact is Pressed in Phone Dialler? - Touch HD General

I've always peferred to use Phone Dialler's keypad to search for a Contact by pressing a few alpha/numeric keys -
then I used press the contact that I'm looking for and select SMS or call mobile or home phone, or email.
With TouchFlo 3D's Phone Dialler HD, however, this is not practical as it AUTOMATICALLY DIALS THE CONTACT instead of OPENING IT to allow you to chose your contact option (as in WM dialler).
I don't want to go back to WM6 Dialler because I like everything else but -
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT FROM AUTO DIAL (selected contact) TO AUTO OPEN CONTACT?
Maybe there's a registry setting that can be changed?
PS. I'd also LOVE to be able to make the SCREEN FONT for SMS's in the TouchFlo 3D MESSAGES Tab, any Ideas?
(MUN zoom doesn't work properly on HD)

Mun Zoom was invented for Diamond and consists of a + and - magnifying glass icons. Never really worked properly on Diamond and doesn't work properly on HD.

Yeah, this is an issue that has been discussed here before and as far as I know, there is no ideal solution for it. At least no one here has found any.
The only suggestion I have is to slide over (rather than tapping) the contact name when in the caller ID screen. This of course flips through the various phone entries for the given contact. However, it also means that it selects that contact without calling. Once selected, you have to press Menu (bottom right) and then "open contact". This is the same as opening your contacts list and tapping on a contact.
By the way, once you are in that screen, tapping on a number will initiate a call (or sms depending on what you tap), and tapping on the name of the contact (or picture) will open the contact file for you to edit it.
Like I said, caller ID screen is not ideal, but my suggestion might be a good enough "work around" for you. If you have a lot of contacts in your contact list, then my suggestion is faster than entering the contact list and finding that particular contact.
As far as your sms screen question - sorry, I don't know how.

Contact List Trouble...

I'm currently having my contact list be somewhat unaccessible. My contacts are there, if someone calls they show up, if I go to call history everyone is there with names and numbers. However if I enter 'Contacts' directly the "Contact" tile bar flashes then disappears. I cannot ADD contact I cannot send a text message by searching contacts. I have also added PocketCM to see if that would change the issue, however it behaves the exact same way. A flash of PocketCM then nothing. I have backups .pims and all nothing seems to work properly anymore.
Any ideas?

MP3 Ringtone for each contact?

I just figured out how to set mp3 ringtones for the Sony Xperia... but I'm wondering if there is a way to set a different ringtone for each contact in my phonebook ??
Yes open the contact and scroll to the bottom
I opened up the contact, and it shows their name , call, and send text message only. When choose "edit" to edit the contact, I can only change their name and number. Can you be more specific please ?
When I edit a contact I have 20+ things I can change about that one person. One of those is 'Ring tone'. Might be some of the SPB software adding it but I doubt it....
Ohh, ok thanks! I found it in the SPB panel, but it's not there in the windows mobile contact for some reason..
I think it depends on how you have the contact saved. The option to add a ringtone to a contact might only be available if the contact is saved to the phone, not the sim card.
search for vippimringtone

On my X1, this is how i get to do it.
1) open contacts from start menu.
2) select the contact to edit. You should now see a screen with options like call mobile, call home, etc
3) click onthe name of the contact, and you should now see a screen with a lot of options for that contact.
4) scroll down until you see the option for ring tone. now click in the text space for the ringtone drop down selection box.
Hope this helps. There are also a lot of other useful options to be found on that screen, like setting pictures for contact. birthday reminders, etc.

Missed calls list

In D2 there are 2 different forms of call history representations:
1. Simple Call History. You get there from home screen, tapping on Call History line. You get 3 buttons below, Call History (with options to show all, missed, outgoing, received using submenu), All Contacts, Favorites.
2. Advanced Call History. You get there when there is missed call, and you click on notify bar, then in notification manager - on "you have X missed calls" line.
In this list you see 4 buttons below, allowing quick filtering (missed, outgoing, received, all).
Simple or Advanced are mine inventions, I have to do something to tell them apart ...
So the question is: how can I change behavior of Call History line on home screen, so it will open Advanced Call History (which is much easier to use), instead of Simple Call History ?

Thats really something I would like to have too!
I agree, it would be great to change this.
Your "simple" call history is the TF3D version, whereas "advanced" is the standard WM6 version. Unfortunately, I haven't found any way to turn off only selected parts of the TF3D interface. Must be in the registry somewhere. Maybe someone out there has more ideas?

Yup, I like the "advanced" one also better. Any progress in this topic?
Me too, anyone?
Looks like not too many people are interested in this!
Just discovered something interesting.
During a call, bring up the dialer keypad on the screen (by pressing the button). Now, if you swipe your finger across the blank white space to the left, you'll bring up the WM6 style quick dial list, and if you swipe to the right you'll bring up the WM6 style call history.
Not sure why this works, but it does. Doesn't help much with our initial query though!
For what it's worth, I'm using the Dusk dialer.
Um... found a way of getting the other "advanced" call history to come up... by mistake, and it is a little convoluted! I have SK tools installed and in SK tools set a shortcut up for the "Close Tasks" feature, I then set my call button to access the Close Tasks shortcut, using the "buttons" option under the standard rom settings tab. Now when i use that shortcut by pressing and holding the call button, it closes all the tasks then jumps to the elusive "advanced" missed calls screen!
Odd, not a fix for everyone as it means closing all your other software to open the screen but thought it may be of interest!

Contact Shorcut Remembers Phone Default as SMS Default- Help

I chose a contact as a shortcut. If a contact has multiple numbers, when I click on the shorcut and click on the phone icon, it will ask "remember this choice" for default. Well... I want my calls to this person to have a default number, but I want the default SMS number to be different, but it doesn't do it. When I choose a default CALL number, it uses that as the SMS default number.
Anyone notice this? Anyone know a fix? Thanks

Have you tried going to the individuals contact and long pressing the desired numbers to set them as the defaults that you want?

You can't do that from the contact shortcut (I created a shortcut on my phone's desktop by holding down on the desktop, then choosing shortcut, then choose contact; that's where the I'm having the problem)
Once I choose a default in the contact's shortcut (on the desktop), it uses tha default for both CALLS and SMS. In my situation, I want the Home phone number to be default for calls, but the cell phone number for SMS.

People Widget

So when setting up the people widget, is there a way to set up a shortcut that automatically calls someone, and another shortcut that automatically texts the same person?
Say, for example, I set up 2 different people widgets, on 2 different screens. On one screen, I have the people widget full of people and it's set to automatically call them on their mobile phone. On the next screen, I have a people widget with all the same contacts, but it's set to send a text message instead of call.
Is this possible? I can't figure out how to change the default action on 1 of them in the widget without changing it for that contact in all of the widgets.
It would sure be nice if I could have a screen full of contacts that have the default action as a text message, and another screen with the same contacts with the default action being to call them.
I set up 2 different groups- 1 called VIP, and the other called VIP text, but changing the default action of a contact in one of them changes it in the other too.
Sure you can do that, only don't use the widget. go to home screen long press, then select shortcut then person, then select your contact then when the contact screen comes up select a number then that shortcut will be put on the home screen, if you select one of the message numbers then that shortcut will text somebody. the other option is to use the quick contact option at the bottom of the contact screen this will put a shortcut icon on the home screen when you touch that icon a submenu will open that will give you the option to call text email or even navigate to that contact, there is also a subicon that will allow you to go to that contacts contact card, play around with it im sure you will find it is very easy to set it up the way you want.

Yeah, I know you can do it that way. I am trying to use the Widget though because it lets you add a whole group. If I could get it to work the way I want, I could add a group for calling, then a group for texting in another widget, and be done. Doing them 1 at a time takes a lot longer.
I replied in your topic at AndroidCentral, lol.
I've heard that the People widget can cost you some battery %'s...
The HTC People Widget scrolls though and lets you organize it by groups, so... I guess it's better in that case.
