RAM tweaks can cause dead phones after few months? ? - Galaxy S I9000 General

I'm on designgears/Cognition rom, with " Juwe11's Ram Tweaks " that designgears combined :
The phone (SGS2) is amazing fast snappy and responsive - like never before
The point is : My friend (with sgs 1 ) told me that one of the best RAM tweaks for the SGS1 (don't know which one ?) >>> cause dead phones after few months ?
I'm 100% confidence on designgears judgement & "cooking" !
but...any one knows what was it all about ?
THX!

Tips for Desire HD Bulid Users

hey all
here few tips i can share however most of the users will already know them i think
i use the build [build][1.12.2010][beta] desire hd2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=735
with [Kernel:Hastarin r8.5.3]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787588
cos this build gives the IOps more then twice better then normal FS
some ppls will say its nothing just tricking the quadrant app
but i can say its help app installation, reduce the boot time
scrolling is smooth even with dir lots of files
about the Kernel the CPU score is around 35 in linpack and in MDJ around 29 or less really duno why
u need just copy over [overwrite ] the new kernel to desire_hd2 dir
and now few tips that may help the build run and boot load fast
i use Titanium Backup to remove stuff i dont use like stocks
the less apps will have the less IOps for the sdcard android will be more respondent
and system panel lite to easily End all the tasks that run to get around 250-280mb ram free i just exclude the useable tasks and kill them all
i cant be sure if the killing apps is helping but its fast and easy to use
thats it, now u should enjoy it
btw if u have something to share too will happy to ...
I already know most of this but it's a very nice of you : ) hope it will help someone!
is it better than mdeejays 4.4 and is it compatible for daily use?
my suggestion is use launcherpro. Its much faster and more responsive than SENSE

You should never kill tasks in Froyo... When you kill a task, it restarts, puts more stress on the cpu and kills battery...

Hence a bit rude earlier, but it is the second thread from you which is pointless.
Instead of creating a new thread, you could do some research how to improve your battery life.
You should know, that CM7 for GT-i9000 is still in heavy development and the CM7 guys is putting their best effort to solve this issue(s) + they just got the GB source, which i think is going to improve CM7.
The simple way to get rid your drain, is to flash another ROM

yes you have to delete it
I see now you put the script into 00tweaks.
I still don't feel any difference though, only that Quadrant dropped from 1800+ to 1700ish, but well... it's Quadrant
Another issue I have is with these changes it closes SetCPU from background after opening a game so I have to restart it manually, it happened with v2 too.

appreciate it.
This script is a best of both worlds deal! better ram optimization+battery life!
so that's the reason for the drop!
as you said "Quadrant" is Quadrant after-all. ahha do the benchmark twice you will get a better score hah !
also yes 00tweaks thats true. ketu helped me in testing
not sure with why SetCPU is giving troubles! i will check it out.
if u really want to know the difference this script produces.

As with any RAM overclocking you will see an increased temperature which puts more strain on the components. This can obviously cause them to fail in the long run. And taking into account that the our S2s aren't exactly no water cooler to begin with I'd say it is plausible.

First of all it was never ram tweak that caused sgs to die but rather ext2 tweak on bell sgs and froyo update that increased write speeds that killed external memory (burned the io?) in droves till Samsung/bell made a patch for it in the form of modified secondary bootloader.

All of this is just placebo until numbers can be shown, and even then its not for sure. Even Antutu can be + or - 1000 points depending what cycle the moon is in (joke), but yeah I believe 90% of the scripts out there don't do anything useful at all. I've never noticed a difference. Even the bravia engine is a joke, unless you side by side a hi res picture, you really aren't going to notice difference.
In past, i used this. And i think that is placebo effect, like others. No real or significant results.

To be honest, I don't think people can win. If they start a new topic about something then they are told to use the search as the topic already exists elsewhere but then if they do use the search and find a relevant topic then they are told its too old. How can you win?
In my opinion, if the topic is relevant, the age of the thread shouldn't matter. Its much better to have an old thread with a lot of contributions to it than the same thread posted 100x over.
i hate all that placebo think they love to play with our mind....lol, like the volume control apps, that gains bout 120% of volume gain...lol not true
