Freezing Bloatware - Galaxy Tab General

Updated 12.11.2011
I missed the other unwanted system app (bloatware) thread for the SGT so originally started this one. Hopefully with a bit more help from a few of you I intend to make it as complete as I can.
In my opinion freezing option on the donate version of Titanium is the best way to go but there are a couple other less safer solutions. Even though some items are listed as safe to uninstall I wouldn’t recommend it. Freeze and if you have any issues its easy to fix.
Freezing apps has definitely almost doubled my battery life but I also UV and UC so the credit is split. None the less there is no doubt in my mind that freezing has contributed significantly more to extending my SGT battery life.
In any case below is the list of all the system apps reported to have been frozen by me and a few other users without noticeable issues or loss of functionality. Doesnt mean there isnt an issue, maybe we just dont use the feature or and have not discovered it. Some that are not used may have been replaced with another from the Market.
Please correct any mistakes you find or add to the lists either by adding more things that can be frozen or by advising on which ones not to touch. I will try to update to the original post when I find the time.
Try freezing list. Others reported as no issues.

Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk

For some i have better and more efficient replacements but normaly use it for emailing, various messengers, as a phone, listening to music, check weather, check currency rates, unit conversions, facebook, linkedin, booking hotels, playing games, a lot of thethering, alarm clock, google maps to find my way around, trapster to avoid speed cameras, recording meetings and conversations, take pictures, notes and of course for watching porn.
Do I need to do more or is this sufficient use of my tab?

I freeze Google Maps and all the DRM processes and have no issues. I wouldn't mess with the google services though.

Does that mean you dont use and are not able to use Google Maps? That I wouldnt be happy with coz i use Google Maps quite a bit.

yes, if you freeze it you would have to defrost it before you can use it. It only takes a moment to defrost and then you're good to go. I don't use maps on my tab (don't have 3g)

You will really read posts here in XDA which are completely opposites:
-here you have someone who freezes most of the apps while in another post there is somebody with over 300 apps on his/her gt.....
-another thread/posts comments about gt having very bad battery life and another one says gt has excellent battery life.....

That is exactly the point. Giving people the information so they can make a choice to have 300 apps or close to none. I am prety sure most would object to being forced to use their device in a specific mandatory way without ability to customize.

I use Titanium backup pro.....

Actually, I created a similar thread for the stock gingerbread like almost 6 months ago:
Apps safe to freeze on Galaxy Tab with Gingerbread 2.3.3 ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1084938
It also contains a list of the "Android system" type of apps that should be left alone, though some of them could be frozen as well. Look into it and see if it helps in any way.
Peace,
C.

Thanks will do.

I would appreciate if anyone can advise any experience in freezing any of the below system apps. I managed to achieve a significantly longer battery life by freezing the above list of app without any noticeable impact on my SGT functionality. Now I would like to try freezing some more but want to build upon any existing experience instead of starting from scratch.

If you look carefully the frozen list in my first post includes some apps that are not to be touched as per the thread link provided by cheatman. Freezing apps does doesn’t seem to be identical experience for all of us and each should validate the impact of their own freezing. Might be simply I didn’t notice the impact since I do not use some of the features. Or maybe I did notice it but didn’t attribute it to the freezing.
Also I am again asking for your experience if you froze some of the apps that are on the don’t touch list in the thread provided by cheatman. I would like to know what issues if any you noticed. I may be willing to accept them or may not even notice them due to not using the functionality. All this is for the purpose of gaining battery life.
Besides freezing apps in order to gain battery life I also UV and UC. As a result of any of these measures my SGT reboots 1-2 per week. Don’t ask me to pinpoint the reason for the reboot. I would not be able to say but find it acceptable as a trade off to a significant battery life gain.

Yoube - Youtube I use.
I use another handy App: Autostarts, and disable the autostartup of most apps, except the ones that I want like emails, google+, etc.
If you use the default Video player, you need DRM and Media Storage working.. but you can disable the auto-startup of DRM, cause it wants to always be in memory.
Since I dont use DRM, and hate the Media Storage scanner.... I simply uninstall all that and use MX or Moboplayer - they can scan the files themselves, and dont depend on any DRM.
Just music I dont have a solution for right now.. cause most players depend on the Media Storage scanner. But WinAmp promissed a scan by folder in the next version.
Cheers!

The lists now hopefully combine all the reported experiences with freezing apps. Please advise if any mistakes or missing.

Congrats on the list MutantWizard! My list was intended to be "n00b friendly" and although you can freeze many system apps indeed, they were reported by Android System as depending on them. I also tried to make a point in explaining what the apps do because sometimes not all of them make sense :-D
Anyway, I run a completely custom variant of freeze/uninstall that also includes systems apps as well, so great job on this thread as it brings everything up to date!
If you keep it updated with all Android versions that can be run on the Tab, that'll also be extremely nice!
Cheers and congrats!
C.

Thanks will try to include in the list system apps from all contributing users regardless of the ROM version. From my side I am a dedicated Overcome user and will contribute further findings on system apps found in this ROM.

Original post updated 30.10.2011
Please advise if you notice any mistakes or missing apps.

BetterBatteryStats reports the following as the biggest power consumers from system side. Please advise if any idea which apps are they so I can try to freeze or uninstall them and see what happens.
kswapd0
suspend
kondemand
dhd_dpc
mmcqd

Original post list updated 04.11.2011, Added 3-4 to the can freeze and 1 to can't freeze.
Also added a couple items to the previous post, They appear to be relatively large battery users from the system side. If any of you have any idea what they are please help me identify them.

System apps safe to remove

This question is often asked when people buy a new android device. So, what preinstalled system apps are safe to remove after one has rooted the Galaxy Tab?
You can uninstall these apps (or even better freeze them) using Titanium Backup after rooting using this methodthis method.
Here is what Ive removed so far with no problems:
Kobo
eBook
Digital Frame
Readers Hub
Daily Briefing
Y! Finance Clock
Swype
Live walpapers (all of them)
Live wallpaper picker
News and Weather
AccuWeather Clock
Home screen tips
Music Hub
Samsung Apps
com.sec.android.samsungapps.una
World clock
Calendar clock
My files
Memo
depends on what apps you want to uninstall........
at max i don't see issues with uninstalling apps you don't want
There are a bunch of apps that i have no understanding of:
BadgeProvider
ChocoEUKor
com.sec.android.app.lcdtest
CoolEUKor
CP Message
DRM Content
English Dictionary
Factory Test
Helv Neue
LbsTestMode
OMACP
Pico TTS**
RoseEUKor
TTS Service**
Voice Search**
I never use tts so i dont want an extra service constantly running. But its been a problem to uninstall on my Milestone...
U removed apps only when with root permission right?
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Yes, protected apps cant be removed without superuser permissions.
Titanium Backup will do it. There is a new "Chuck Norris Mode" that apparently can remove even more apps.
If only there was some kind of reference list like the win 7 services library that tells you which apps rely on which other apps...
Im wondering if CP Message might be the annoying TouchWiz settings in the taskbar... ControlPanel Message perhaps?
bump... because its on page 14
While this was a necessary evil on my Vibrant, I am at a loss as why this again necessary on the Tab. Especially considering it comes with much less bloat IMO. What benefits come from removing these? Performance and battery life are already very acceptable to me. Am I missing something?
so how exactly do you remove these after root? got lots of bloatware I'd wanna remove ! thanks !
Kobo

While its sometimes obvious what the apk's are called for each app, can someone list the full apk's for these apps.
these are the exact names when using titanium to freeze apps... if you want to remove the apks you will have to use your head as its pretty self explanatory
by the way, i have since realised that there is no other dnla cliet for android apart from allshare, so ive resurrected drm and allshare to simplify connecting to my home media until we get cifs working on the tab
bump...
does anyone have a list in which is safe? What about the question about the app that weren't known, or these safe to remove?
my list was safe...
thanks! nice advice. i was wondering if there was any alternative to adnroid optimizer app as it cashes alot. so this helped me very much!

[UPDATED]: Reference List and Functions for All Touchwiz Software

Guide Updated for Lollipop in post 2 below! This first post is for Kit-Kat releases
Removing these apps WILL remove functionality, break some of your menus, lead to force closes, and reduce the capability of your device. I am not responsible for what you remove and you have been warned
*Freezing these Apps will have the same effect as uninstalling them and is a much safer option for the user. Please consider freezing first and then uninstalling after you have tested the device.*
I originally set out to make this a list of "safe" to remove software for users bold enough to remove them if they didn't want that feature. The "Apps removed" list is still that original work, but what it has turned into instead is a reference library of all the Samsung apps and what they do. This is a work in progress and I will need the help of the community to keep it accurate, updated, and relevant. The way I have the software listed is the exact name as it shows in Android Tuner. I may edit this post later to include APK names, but for now this is the list as I can report it. The annotations I've added are intended to be as accurate as possible and some provide references for why I think they do what they do. If you know what one of these does and want to add to it or correct me (cause I am wrong a lot) please post and tell me so I can change the descriptions. If we do this right many people can benefit from this, including devs, who want to remove unneeded features from Touchwiz and maximize their ROM's efficiency.
Tools I Used:
Android Tuner (I use Pro but you can use normal for this as well)
BetterBatteryStats
*Please backup your apps when you remove them. Also after removing several system files please reboot and wipe cache/dalvik before noting phone performance.

Some Tips from Me for What It's Worth:
-If you're not sure you'll use it then freeze it first -- there is nothing worse than removing an app and discovering not only that you needed it, but that it is a pain to re-install
-Making a system app a user app is good for battery saving because it can be easily greenified
-Get 3C Toolbox Pro: not only does it remove and backup software it also optimizes libraries, cleans deleted data to speed up read/write times, controls kernel settings, and can be set to automate tasks. It is amazing software
-RAM Usage is handled differently in Lollipop because of ART so this list is not used to free RAM. This is to freeze applications that would take up resources that we don't use or want running
-If you follow this guide and remove all of these apps I highly recommend clearing cache and dalvik--a few removed apps is fine for ART but if you remove a lot of them it is important to give it a clean database to start with. Then run TRIM with 3C or something similar
-Support the devs! Don't thank this post, thank the dev of the ROM you are using and consider donating to them! Note 4 users are incredibly lucky to have so many talented developers. Show them that they are appreciated!
Will be doing this when I get home from work. Thanks!

I'm excited to hear about your results. Please post them good/bad/or indifferent and if you encounter any problems try to let me know what the circumstances were. My hope is that we can get to a point where this information could be used to strip down a ROM and let the user put back the particular software they needed and nothing more.
Also if you have any suggestions to submit for removal and you know what feature it is a part of just let me know. :good:
I have found removing one of these files has made the recent app button almost instant. I don't know which one is the one that made it faster.
Unused ram is wasted ram

Very cool. I hadn't tested the multi-task button since doing my slimming down, but now I am going to try it out.

Unused/unwanted programs waste my RAM.
Compare two setups. The first is stock software exactly the way it comes with Facebook, ChatOn, Hancom, Twitter, Air Wake Up, Direct Answer, etc. Many of these programs you don't use are set to launch at boot. You can verify this by checking the Startup Manager tab of Android Tuner. On boot stock RAM usage is full of programs I don't necessarily need running in memory and the Android OS has to use its memory management routines in order to close those apps and fill the RAM with apps I launch.
The second setup is my setup which boots with on 908MB of RAM used and the RAM is filled by programs I launch and want to stay in memory without having to close other programs in the background that Samsung gave priority.
(less programs closed = less CPU routines = lower battery usage)
Which setup is more efficient for the end user? This post isn't about stripping it down so I don't ever use the RAM, it is about creating a library of information about what these programs do so users can remove what they want and run a system tailored to their needs; not the needs of the many.
Edit: is anyone running pure stock and can tell me what RAM usage is on a clean boot? I genuinely cannot remember its been so long.
UPDATE v1
-Added some new descriptions/explanations
-Discovered error in original list "com.sec.android.app.SmartClipService" is part of S-Pen feature. I put mine back.
-Added some references for where I found my information
-Added a few people to the 'Thanks' section. Take the time to thank them when you can!
Thanks for this! Now, just to be sure, if i remove/freeze all of those under "Reference list/apps removed", I won't lose the "functional features with my list" features??
I'm glad I could help!

I did add a few back that if removed would break certain features, but the descriptions are bolded. Otherwise, yes if you remove things from the reference list it should still function similarly to mine.
However, if you run into anything weird using that list (force close/crash/unusable feature) let me know so we can track it down and know what it does.
Edit: @gretschpr you MUST install Viper4Android before removing AdaptSound and SoundAlive so that you have a mixer control installed. Otherwise, potential force closes.
Much thanks! I'll give it a try!

X-Note Restart Method 3.0 (com.xnote.reboot)
This is pretty much a debloated X-Note Rom. The reason why i use X-Note is so that I can have a black theme (settings menu, dialer, etc).
After a fresh reboot RAM usage sits at 1.17GB after 5 minutes of idle time. After some use (phone calls, facebook, messenger, etc) it sits around 1.4-1.6gb. After a day or so, it sits around 1.7gb. At which point I will just reboot the phone (I usually do this in the morning after a fresh charge). That being said, you don't need to reboot the phone and it will perform smoothly for days (never gone more than a few days without having to reboot for one reason or another - usually flashing stuff lol)
After I have sucessfully used the phone with frozen apps, after about a week or two, i will remove the apps permanently from the rom. Currently the system Rom partition has 2.16GB free of 3.7GB.
Let me know if you have any questions and i apologise if this post is not suitable for T_mobile devices.
Thanks,
Ed
This is a great list! Had about 20 that I didn't know I could remove. Total of 184 apps when I boot up very nice!
That sounds about right!
It gets addictive trying to figure out what can and can not be removed. haha
Thanks for this list, my phone seems a bit snappier now and no fc's.

I'm glad to hear it! Keep testing and if you see anything strange please report it so we can pin down what app it is. I'm going to revise it when Lollipop comes out, but it will require EXTENSIVE testing. Enjoy!

[ASUS ME176C/X] List of Bloatware/Services safe to remove/disable

this list may not be complete, you can help me improving it if you want
Thanks to the following users for their help improving this list: daspex
=== Safe to remove (free up some space) ===
The following list contains app which are safe to remove to free up some space in the rom.
You can gain some hundred megabytes of free space by removing this apps from the system.
Gmail (2 mail apps are unnecessary)
Google+ (how the hell uses G+ anyways)
Google Play Books
Google Play Games
Google Play Kiosk
Google Play Movies
Zinio (some random magazine app)
Amazon Kindle (good reader app, but way to huge for a system app ~100MB)
Omlet Chat
Bbbler Actors for Omlet (comes with latest OTA update)
Flipboard
Facebook (need it? install it as a user app. needs too much space)
Maps (i personally think Google Maps on this device is completely useless)
Street View
Chrome Browser (reinstall as user app if you use it, another app which eats up space in the rom)
EMusic
Contacts (why is this app actually installed?)
Gallery (default image viewer)
MyASUS (classic bloatware app)
RemoteLink
ShareLink
Mirror (uses front camera for a mirror)
WebStorage
What's Next
Google Drive
=== Safe to disable (remove at your own risk) ===
The following list contains background processes and services which are safe to disable.
CMService & DMService* (get rid of OTA update notifications and reduce network usage)
Bubbles (if you don't care about live wallpapers disable it)
PlayTo* (never tried this out, maybe to transfer video?)
EnergySaver*
DLNA Service*
* confirmed save to remove
CAUTION: always make a backup before you remove a app in case you want to restore it later not all apps are available on the play store!
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU BREAK ANYTHING OR END UP BOOTLOOPING! REMOVE AND/OR DISABLE APPS AND SERVICES AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DON'T BLAME ME IF ANYTHING STOPS WORKING! I TESTEST EVERY APP/SERVICE BY MYSELF AND IT WORKED FOR ME!

Asus Launcher
Asus Demo
No issues so far...if they come i'll post it here...
everything works well instead of asus launcher i use go launcher.
as i read the asus demo app installs the flashplayer and removes itself after entering the password no need to do that for me couse i use mxplayer and codecs.
Don't delete Asus launcher If you don't have any launcher installed and currently in use, it'll throw your device in to boot loop.
But Asus Demo is safe to delete.
I have the Lollipop .33 version as far as I tried if any app associated with quick settings is deleted, you can't go to Asus Customize settings and change the apps order anymore.
When you press Quick settings options it'll throw you an "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." error. But apart from that it doesn't effect the system stability.
The .24 doesn't have this problem.
My suggestion is when you have a freshly and fully installed Lollipop .33 and want to delete some apps like Splendid, go to Asus cuatomize settings and change them to your liking first. Then you can safely delete system apps.

I understand what you mean, you can see a lot of apps that you potentially don't use and you'd like some advice on identifying them so you can remove them if not needed.
The vast majority of what i can see are needed, very few can be removed without breaking functionality.
Also if this is for the sake of battery life, there are other ways to get gains and not have to be this drastic, your active applications will have more of an implication on battery life than most of these.
Sorry that you were flamed for asking a question.

Personally i wouldn't bother, but then i don't know what half of these do, this is mainly what i think i'd do, you can break parts of the phone by doing this too, not totally worth it in my opinion.

This is the most XDA of replies: Helpful, informative, concise, and not patronizing. :good::good: Realize that not everyone on XDA knows everything there is to know about Android.
It's sad and ironic that the flaming done here was from someone who had 18,500+ on his Thank-meter. SMFH.
Just in case someone stumbles across this thread again, not advisable to delete the ff:
Google Partner Services Setup
Google One Time Init
Google Backup Transport
SIM Toolkit
Deleting these would either cause unexplained crashes, or annoying and
persistent popup warnings that interfere with some apps like Google Maps.
General rule of thumb if you're rooted is, freeze them using an app
like Titanium Backup, then observe for a while if they're causing any
unexplainable crashes/freezes/slowdowns. If not, then go delete.
Remember to make a Nandroid Backup in case everything goes to sh*t.

Hi...
Not sure where you see someone flaming here?
Also not sure what follows is the appropriate link but it describes the term:

So... Looking at your comment and not seeing a lot of people with so much thanks here, I presume that you were referring to @Heisenberg with his 18.5k thanks?
I don't see any flaming here...

Thank you sir
I've thought about removing these a while back myself, didn't ask and ended up with no rom
Even when i did remove things and ended up with a working but broken Rom the battery gains were negative I'm guessing because the broken parts were in turn using more battery? No idea, but also not worth it anyway
Not sure what we've all learnt here but it's been fun

On many other devices I have owned and flashed there was some thread that listed all the safe, maybe safe and not safe system apps to delete. As phones get bigger and bigger this seems to be less of a thing to do. I personally use TBU also to freeze and observe behavior before deleting.

Just a heads up, that rotation issue can be resolved by replacing a file that gets removed when Facebook is uninstalled. http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...-screen-rotation-fix-libgnustlshared-t3408140. One additional step I had to do was set permissions for the file to -rw-r--r--

Hey everyone! Post here all the apps that you have successfully frozen, or removed, without any issues. If you know what they are responsible for, post that as well. I will keep this post updated in Alphabetic order!
After a couple days of debloating, messing up the system, and restoring, there are clearly some apps that cause major issues if removed. For example, the Facebook app causes the screen rotation function to permanently break, if it is removed. There is also another app that results in screen rotation breaking, I have yet to identify it, but I suspect it is one of the KNOX-related apps.
*UPDATE* We have some new information folks! I will be doing a very large debloat tomorrow and this thread will get a huge update

ORANGE = LOSS OF RELATED SYSTEM FUNCTIONS ONLY (Ex: Touchwiz Launcher, Knox)

Nice thread ?
Hey everyone,
So I compiled this entire list and did it myself. I was doing it in batches. The last portion was after Phase Beam, and that caused an error in the system
"EmergencyManagerService has stopped working"
This causes the error to come up on every reboot, and breaks ultra power saving mode functionality. At this point I am going through them one by one and trying to identify which app breaks this when removed. This may take a while ...

Thanks for the topic/lists @WaterMan! & @kyoji001, I loves some debloating... wait! I... don't care for bloat... Err, both! :silly:
Are you guys using a particular tool for uninstallation or doing so manually? I've used TB with filters in the past but have encountered some (minor, but semi annoying) issues in the past. I had planned on using System App Remover on my next fresh install based on recommendations/friendliness wrt lib files but then an update added a location permission, which set off my sketch alert and put me off of that app.
Ok, this is going to be long... feel free to skim :good: I did an interesting test last night, although I'm still running 5.1.1 (TEKxodus 7.4R2). I had removed about 200 unwanted system apps along with their data via TB a couple of months ago. Like I said, issues were minor and sporadic (mostly various GAPPS fc's). My phone's been running fine, so I didn't bother trying the following until last night, mainly just in the interest of contributing to this discussion, although I can't say yet whether or not this is "safe" on MM... if you think it might be problematic for any reason, please chime in! The steps that I took are here: extracted the system/lib directory from my current ROM's install archive, cut & pasted the entire original system/lib directory into the same directory on the active TB debloated ROM skipping present files and replacing those that were missing/deleted - I skipped subfolders at first then checked my install to see if any of them were missing files which they weren't, next I wiped cache & dalvik in recovery and optimized databases in Synapse (for good measure...), step 4) ????, 5) Profit!(?)
I used Root Explorer to do my lib directory manipulation, and after copying the missing modules, I selected all files in my actual system/lib directories to get a count then did the same in the folder I had extracted which then contained all of the files that were already present and therefor skipped. There were 7 more files in my active lib directory, so it seems that's how many modules my debloating had removed.
I wasn't really sure if/how I'd be able to tell if restoring the modules had any positive effect since the only problems that I had with my phone were so sporadic. I did however run a bench (Antutu) before and after (this morning after the phone had been back on overnight and I had used it a decent amount). The main reason that I was curious about bench scores is that I expected to get higher average scores after debloating, but was surprised that my bench scores stayed exactly where they had been (always somewhere between 68,000 and 69,200. I always screenshot the detailed results with all of the sections expanded (scroll-capture :good: ) after running a bench and jot down any factors or settings that might have some impact on performance on the image before saving it.
Well, it turns out I was... very possibly... right to be suspicious about the lack of an increase in my average bench score. I made sure to use my phone some before testing after my dalvik/cache wipes and such - played a game for a bit, did some web browsing. So after some pretty surprisingly consistent scoring within a pretty narrow range, this morning I hit 72,871(!) with all of the extra points attributed to the (surprisingly, I suppose) 3D tests... some of the other results that I saw in the detailed section were actually a bit lower compared to my test from last night, but all within 500 points of my previous average, i.e. "normal". I'll test again in a week or so or before updating to MM (whichever comes first).
So to wrap this up, I would cautiously recommend this technique for debloating. Summarized: uninstall unwanted system apps however you want, then restore your system/lib directory to it's default install state from the extracted folder from whatever ROM you have installed. Do so at your own risk, of course, particularly if you're on MM. I'll follow the same steps that I posted after doing the update and report back on the results.
Thanks again for this thread and the bloat lists. This type of thread is always a super helpful resource!
The list I compiled is what I personally removed, and tested, using Titanium Backup. No side effects other than the app in question being deleted obviously. I just moved the list around, I have one last chunk of apps to go through. One of these causes the error "emergencyManagerService has stopped" when deleted, and also causes ultra power saving mode to stop working. I will have it done by tonight, and find exactly what app is doing this!

Hey Waterman,
Looking at your list my bet is on something to do with the Launcher. Ultra Power Saving replaces your default launcher with a special BW launcher; I'm thinking that its just a skinned Touchwiz launcher.

I don't know if its worth mentioning in your first post, but the ANT HAL services all have to do with basically fitness wearables. If you use any that aren't BT and remove the ANT+ packages I imagine they will stop functioning.
How do you actually go about removing thsese items?
What are the steps for debloating?
Thanks!
Personally I like some of the Samsung apps & features otherwise I would use a non-Samsung ROM like Resurrection Remix.
I love SHealth and have a Gear VR. I'm surprised if you have a Note 4 and don't use SHealth with its cool heartrate, pulse ox, UV, stress level and other monitoring features. Also think the Samsung photo editor is actually one of the better ones.
Never used CarMode is but it seems like something useful.
Not sure what happens with any of these if you remove Samsung Account and Galaxy Apps I think they may be necessary at least for updates to these apps and for storing the SHealth data.

Yes that is true, and that is exactly what ANT+ does. 99% of people will never use it, I know I personally will not. I haven't yet posted what everything does, but I will. I have been busy and out of town

Again, you may use it, but that's a niche. I would never use any of those features. Note 4 is way too big to work out with, nor would I want to. I have never touched the Photo Editor. Car Mode does nothing practical other than neuter phone functionality when driving. Proceed with caution, and don't delete anything you use.
