I'm not sure if anyone has tried to contact HTC regarding some sort wholesale deal. I know on there web site they welcome traders.
I have used group buys in forums before and got some great deals. (I was the Buyer not the organiser) so im note sure of the best approach to get things going.
Maybe this has been even done on this forum before
has anyone got any contacts with HTC??
Any ideas welcome!!!!!!
HTC will only listen to you when your order exeeds 10K pcs or more!
Can't we try to get anyone in the forum to buy a new one?
Than we can reacht the 10k...
count me
count me in if you bid with HTC
very good idea idea
I am for it and will take one as well.
How to effect the different units to the differnt telco operators in different countries.
Htc may have some agreement with their existing distributors and this may forstall any direct deals. However having said this it should not be a dampener as nothing is impossible. good luck to us
Good ... very Good idea.
I´m in!!
I'm in for 1 Universal. I'd be more than happy to get OS updates directly from HTC...
Htc Universal
I am also in the list for buying HTC Universal.

It's not practical. HTC won't send out 10,000 machines to different people. They won't send them alll to one person without payment in advance. So unless that person can afford to buy that many, 10,000 people will have to pay him/her first.
Would you want to have to send 10,000 items in the post to people all over the world? I certainly wouldn't.
What could be done tho is to contact the distributors Qtek or I-mate
Excellent idea. I'll be in for one.
MMB manages to buy them in relatively small quantitys from the carriers such as i'mate etc so it should be possible.I'll have on!
Ok guys, here I am, and I am going to help you all!
I want to be part of it... a huge part of it.
I badly need 9.974 pieces for my relatives and myself (yes, huge family).
There remain 26 pieces out and it's really hard to believe we can't find 26 more guys to do the deal, c'mon... Anybody can afford to pay 874 EUR to buy this jewel, am I wrong ?
Unfortunately my account is running pretty low right now: there remain only 8.715.004,28 EUR on it.
Considering I'm going to pay 8.717.276 EUR for my order (plus shipping), if I do not manage to get a discounted price, I am afraid we will need 2-3 more volunteers to join us.
Please let me know whether you are joining me or not.
I live in the USA and my carrier is Sprint. Do you think there is any way to get it activated on the Sprint network? The Universal works with EVDO, right?
If it's at all possible, throw me on the list for 2 of them. One for me, one for my wife.
hi people. hey SLVRBLLT are you telling us you are going to buy 9,974.0 units at 874 euro each??? just asking
This thread is amusing
If it were practically possible to execute such a deal, I would be in for it.
I think before we start assuming this like the number of units that need to be bought and prices etc. someone needs to take charge adn get in touch with HTC to see if such a thing is even possible.
I dont have any contacts so I can't do it. Anyone else?
humayunl is right....bit of organisation please before money starts flying to every corner of the globe....and nothing comes back
I'll throw down..
Hell....I just bought an SPV M2000, but I'll throw down for this. Count me in....

Me too. why not just have the XDA-Developers Admins involved as well? after all, there's probably one living in each country. What we should do is find the developer in our country/state and find out if we could have a sort of hub setup. if everyone pays their admin, then the admin pays the buyer, all the buyer has to do is ship X amount of units to each admin in each country, then the ppl who paid the admin can come with their paypal reciepts and pick up the units from him one by one or something
Granted, it'd be a massive operation, but if it means everyone has a universal, then i'm all for tryin it.
Well i have started off a little interest. doesn't look like its going to be easy.
Im sure someone must post on this forum who works for HTC maybe they might come out of the woodwork if they know money is involved
Maybe a few words from the moderators would be nice
Hey so I have been searching for the best place to buy a HD2 T9193 so I can use it on AT&T US 3G network. Everywhere I look, there seems to a consensus of anywhere from $800-1000. Then I find this guy, who's hotmail email address is cherryda78, who is selling them for $299 plus shipping. After emailing him he says would be $30. Here are some of the ads he has up online.
**So apparently I cannot post links because I am a new user. I copied the links to a .txt and attached it to this post. How I do I go about getting verified btw?**
I emailed him and he responded the next day with this. Below is our email thread:
Mr. Cherry Da,
I am interested in purchasing the HTC HD2 phone you have listed here and here (these were links). I have been dreaming of this phone for about 4 months now, and to get it would be just amazing. I know you can unlock the radio and run it on US 3G with AT&T. I do have some questions though. You have the phone listed for $299 USD. Is that correct? It seems much lower than most other sites right now, so I am pleasantly surprised but cautiously skeptical. Could you please provide some more information for me? How come you are offering it at such a great price?
Thank you so much!

Seems very shady to me, but for $300, I almost want to take the gamble. My question is if anyone has bought a HD2 from this guy, or would buy. Also, what has everyone paid for your phone? And where did you get it?
Thanks!
Telstra doesn't even sell it that cheap... so fishy...
it is either fake or stolen.
Hahaha Western Union or Bank Transfer - so you have absolutely NO recourse when (not if) this transaction goes south.
"Commenwealth" of Australia? Really?
If you want to throw out $330, send it to me instead!
The same guy is selling the Supersonic for €236! Does HTC have a massive leak in their supplychain that they are totally unaware of?
Please don't send this guy your money. The price is huge red flag and the Western Union or bank transfer only is an even larger red flag. If you send this guy your money you'll never see it again and you'll never receive the phone. This is a scam.
Hmm, poor broken english + only accepts western union or bank wire transfer + rediculous low price = SCAM to me. If it sounds to good to be true.....
don't, just ..... don't
Of course it is a scam.
scam.... Run, run very far.
chinese copy, gotta be, put the phrase
HTC TOUCH HD2 T9193 LEO 3G Unlocked USD$299
into google and there are dozens of hits, dollars, euros, and in one the company info is a pda manufacturer in china.
HD2 9193 is the best phone
Telstra charges AU$829.00 outright or AU$80/month for 24 months (but the call rate of Telstra is extremely high).
so $329 is fake or scam
Don't even think about it.
I work for Telstra, and there is no way that anyone can sell a Telstra Branded HD2 for that price. As mentioned earlier, if you buy it outright from a Telstra Shop it costs over A$800. You may be able to find a slightly used one for around A$700 on eBay.
As someone else pointed out,
Commenwealth of Australia, that should of been your first giveaway.
I tell ya, I know you want the phone...We all do but, be careful.
Any one that will not take a credit card for a high dollar purchase
is someone you need to avoid.
Ebay is the best or Amazon. At least you can track your
order by purchase.
Buy it and give us some feedback
buy it,I pay you $350.
Don't do it! My brother did the same thing on a weight machine set that was for $400 n normally it goes for $1200 n he send a money order n never got the weight machine n he couldn't do anything about it. Its a scam!! Don't do it!!
Scam
This definitely sounds like a scam, it will either not arrive and you can say goodbye to your cash, or it will be a cheap imitation. I know someone who bought a iPhone (idiot!) through ebay and it turned out to be some other type of handset with an 'iPhone looking' case. Didn't even look like an iPhone next to a real one.... avoid!
Scam, scam... If you want to get one cheaper, look in XDA's own marketplace (I picked one up for £310, maybe $550)
Thanks everyone

Subject: Developers phone
I was wondering when you guys will be offering the nexus one for purchase for developers? I was just about to order two of these when you guys ran out/stopped selling.I am a developer and really want this phone,I noticed you said that you will be making them available to devs i was just wondering when.
This is my first post so i had to remove the links but this reply is 100% real!
?huh?
10char
So since the Nexus Ones will now be for "developers" will they have the special bootloader that can be re-Locked?
Just wondering
I wonder how much they're going to be charging, or if they'll sell accessories too!
I just hope they can drop the price tag a little bit. Even the later phones just came out are cheaper than N1.
Also, fix the wifi sleep bug. That's all what I want to ask for.
well... I bought a developer license and what they are selling this very moment is the "Android Developer Phone 2" which runs Android 1.6 has a 500something mhz cpu and like a 3.x" screen. Not very exciting.
I hope the august thing isn't this phone... on the other hand.. its cheaper and completely carrier independent.
Frankly, I'd see the Dev 3 will be HTC Vanguard, which has advanced 3G (3.75G) and slide-out keyboard.
If nothing else, I'd like to buy another Nexus One to get a special developer edition back cover.

guys, i know its not everyones' rquirement, but i have a doubt which needs to be clarified before i get into trouble....
the thing is, i am importing SGS2 from UK to UAE, & my friend is coming back to India on 15th... i ordered it through him, he said handtec replied to him through mail saying that the SGS2 reaches his address in UAE in 2-5 days.... i hope it does...
my doubt is, as i have read somewhere in this forum that dubai customs rules have changed a bit & they do require some things to be fulfilled before SGS2 parcel reaches UAE on time safely without undue delay at the port of entry in UAE.....
so what i am asking you guys/girls is that if anyone of you have imported SGS2 from UK to UAE(Abudhabi), what are all the things we need to do from our side apart from ordering it & paying the money through credit card ????
i mean, like this......
1. shipment Product's "Country of Origin".
2. Sender should Mention on invoice, its for "Personal use"
3. HS Code (Harmonized System Code) of the products.
Click to collapse
anyone know any rules or regulations to be followed for the safe & early delivery of SGS2 from UK to UAE ???? will they put tax/ask for money at the port of entry in Dubai for this parcel ???? how much time they need to clear this product & allow the courier service to dispatch the parcel to the mailing address ???
i am very much tensed up, because its already costing Rs.33,500/- + conversion rate of dollar to dirahms & if the customs catch hold of this parcel & ask for money i will be definitely screwed.....
pls guide me & give me proper information about how exactly things work at dubai customs office regarding foreign goods entering their country.... especially from UK...
waiting for your positive inputs fellows..... keep them coming pls..... pray for me & help me get my parcel delivered soon & safely ..... once i get this beauty into my hands, i will definitely post the pics & would dedicate my device for the development purpose od SGS2.. thats a promise guys..... i wanna test it to the max & i hope lot of devs would love to hear that......
All info is in this thread and that "Someone/ somewhere" is me/here

Buddy did you get your device ? R u happy with it ? Pls post some pics for us......
Ive ordered several devices including 2 in the past six months from the UK to Dubai and all have made it here with no special instructions to sellers or couriers. YMMV.
My SGS2 from Clove is on the way via DHL and I can update once it arrives.
That's promising...... How much did they charge you for currency conversion ? And which credit card did you use to make purchase ??? How accurate they are in terms of delivery dates which they claim it to be delivered ??? How much did you pay for ur sgs2 from clove ?

Sorry.. been too busy playing with my SGSII to check back
1) Currency Conversion is by your Credit Card issuer and not by the seller. Clove charges in £, gets converted to AED by the bank here.
2) Used a Visa card.
3) Very accurate.
4) £470 (440 for device, 30 for delivery via DHL) - no VAT was charged. However the UAE does charge tax on import which came to approximately AED 230 (£38) if I remember correctly - unfortunately can't find my receipt right now.
Others have pointed out that other vendors may have it slightly cheaper and may even deliver slightly faster but my past experiences with Clove have been very good particularly with their responsiveness by e-mail / phone. Thats important to me particularly if I later have to deal with any warranty issues.
Also note as I mentioned above I gave no special instructions to Clove or DHL and did not run into any problems.
Goodluck.
Mates great news.
DavinciTeam also introduced SIM unlocking service for xperia Neo,Arc,Play phones.
i successfully unlocked my Xperia Neo with this service
i purchased 50 credits(min allowed) for 30$ directly from the website and unlocked with the client software
this is tespoint unlocking service(dont panic its very easy)
the good thing is it unlocks our boot loader as well
for Sim-unlock just cost 10 credits only.
since the main website doesnot have the proper tutorial, i'm writing the brief steps to help the people facing problems.
steps:
1. purchase the credits(50) from davinci website
2.pay using paypal service
3.get the customer ID, username and passwprd
4.log in using user id and password in the main website
5. go to your user area and enable your account
6.Download the latest client SW from the website
7.start the client and enter your customer ID and password
8.Once the client starts connect the cable to the phone by pressing back key(flash mode)
9. client will detect it and will show the available services
10.select the unlocking service(10 credits) and press go
NOW your attention is really required
client will ask for test point link, here remove the cable and battery from phone
check tutorial section video for the test point in the website.
11.connect the test point with the ground(-ve), sim card metal is ground so u can connect with that.
12.hold the test point link and attach the usb cable to the phone, wait for 5 sec and the press OK on the client
13. within few sec client will ask to remove the test point link. just remove the test point link alone.. thats all the tool will finish the rest
14. when prompted as Done!! remove the cable
Now ur phones sim-lock and boot loader should be unlocked.
thanks for reading this.. i followed the above method, since the tutorial provided in the davinci website lacks informations so i took opportunity to write here.
i hope it helps..
why pay $30 when I can pay just $20 on omnius and its quick as well.
Grate!
I ask a stupid question, is it could fix the brick that down grade ?
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
Though we pay 30 dollars we can unlock 5 phones. We get 50credits but the service only needs 10 credits. Thats pretty cheap rite??
@shryau. I'm not sure about it. Sorry. Can u explain in detail??
is it available for xperia arc s?
Now SIM UNLOCk xperia play via DavinciTeam costs 50 credits for 30$, not 10 credits.

Does davinci support to relock bootloader.
If not, they arent good
Hi guys - this is Chris from DavinciTeam/SIMLOCK. Just a note that we have lowered to price of all SE unlocking to $20 USD until December 1 when purchased via SIMLOCK.com and we're working on potentially discounted pricing on a permanent basis in the new year.
NOTE: I'm just looking to get in on the action here, not spam in any way, and so omitted a link above.
On an unrelated note, I've been a long-time lurker here at XDA and just rooted a Nook Color last night using the tools supplied by devs here so cheers for that

why you have to pay credits when there is setool1?
I had a horrible experience with Davinci Team back with my K850i. They advertised a service they didn't provide and refused to refund even after I linked the howardforums thread with others who were pissed off. I had to escalate through paypal, which did not want to offer me purchase protection since I received my "credits" (which were worthless). After calling multiple times I finally received a refund.
To top off the above, davinciteam banned my account on their site which wasn't a big deal, but continued to spam me with their newsletters for years via email. I was not able to opt-out of the system because they do not provide a unsubscribe link (in violation of the CAN-SPAM act). After multiple attempts to contact via email I finally received a nasty response and they finally stopped the newsletters coming in.
I'd pay extra money to any service to not deal with davinciteam. Aside from paypal it was one of my worst online merchant experiences. Be warned.
Does it work for SE Arc S (LT18)?

Hi Joe Ouch, I'm sorry to hear all of that, though I do need to clarify a few things:
1. We have offered full services for the K850 for many years, since only a couple of months following its release, and so there was never a time that we couldn't have offered flashing/debranding or SIM unlocking services.
2. We do have a no-refund policy where credit purchases are concerned - this isn't meant to throw anyone off but is simply meant as protection for us and is in accordance with PayPal's own policy regarding "intangible goods." This is why credits are universal and non-expiring - no one is ever out of pocket.
3. I personally compile our newsletter and have since its inception and the instruction to unsubscribe has always been in the footer - not a direct link but rather instructions to opt-out via the customer area. This same customer area functionality has always existed and still does.
Now, on the flipside of things: our newsletter opt-out options suck and a single-click solution should have been in place years ago - I am actively working on this now. Also no one (I hope it wasn't me!) should have taken anything but a lovely tone with you in correspondence so let me apologize if you experienced anything but.
Give me a shout directly at [email protected] - I'd be happy to offer a free service if it would help to patch things over and convince you to give our services another chance

Thats why its best if you think you are going to be ripped off by Paypal / the people who deal with it then make sure that you use a credit card then if people try to defraud you then you can just cancel the paypal direct debit and instigate a chargeback. (Its your legal right far too many scammers on the internet these days and its sad that its necessary - but alas it is).
Well, I've used Davinciteam several times without a single issue and haven't had any issues with PayPal either (but with other PayPal users).
One bad experience doesn't a comprehensive evaluation make.

1. Apologies, upon checking my records it was actually my shortly lived TM506 and not the K850i. This dispute was back at the end of september 2008. Paypal likes to destroy records of comments, I have the two disputes I made and the transactions applicable, as well as the confirmation number from davinci. Here's probably the thread I linked from howardforums at the time, btw it's not me reporting, others got the cold shoulder from you guys on this issue. http://www.howardforums.com/printthread.php?t=1436442&pp=30
2. One of the things I *do* have still is the emails confirming my account was banned from davinci. Assuming you have the ability to ban or revoke credits and a way to track them, there is no reason why you should not be able to refund a payment for a misadvertised service. It's poor business practice. Even paypal realized this and had a live person review and reverse the transaction based on the evidence I provided (and against their written policy).
3. Thanks for acknowledging that the newsletter opt-outs suck. It took me two years to get off the list. I made two simple one line "unsubscribe" attempts on 10/31/08 and 3/3/09 . I also tried the link in the newsletter to access my account (which was inaccessible due to ban). Eventually on 6/29/10 I emailed this:
> Message :
>
> Please stop sending me emails. I did not have a good experience with your
> service and would not like to be reminded of it every day. I cannot
> unsubscribe since my account is blocked from changing settings.
Fairly promptly I received the reply:
Hello,
no problem, we had also not such good expirience with you!
Thanks,
Tim
Davinci Support Team
Again, I'd like to remind you, I made repeated requests to stop receiving solicitation over the course of TWO YEARS, I think enough was enough.

That's just the thing, they are supposed to be a reputable company, I expected a civil response and not having to escalate through paypal. It was clearly their mistake and I'm not the only victim. As my record and the thread linked show, they did not handle the situation professionally. As for the advice of using a credit card through paypal, I do so knowing it's a one shot deal. You agree in the paypal policy to not chargeback merchants through CC. If you do end up in a bad situation like this and issue a chargeback, you can expect to lose your paypal account for life.
The only thing I like about that reply is that my name isn't the one signed under that email It looks like you ended up with one of our developers there; suffice it to say that their bedside manner may need some work!
At the time of that problem I was playing a less-pronounced role with decision-making and so I'll have to refrain from trying to explain and skip directly to the apology. We definitely don't make a habit of ignoring any problem.
As I said above, I'd be happy to make it up to you with a free process in the name of renewing your faith in our product and people - give me a shout any time
