Hi guys
i'm writing here to ask you only one thing: can anyone create a new xrecovery update.zip in order to autoinstall jit without using adb?
I've seen it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=902974 and there is a similar one for x10 big
Hope you like my idea
Here we go..
To install:
You will need to extract the 2 files from the .rar archive and then rename the one you want to "update.zip" (Without the quotes) and copy to your SD Card. Then reboot yor phone and start xRecovery... choose "Install update.zip".
does this thing really work???
50 views and no one who has made a feedback?
thanks for your sharing but i'd like to know someone who had tried it

So does it works?
I posted it in the android development thread (with thanks to the author)
your feedback could be great even in that thread
i have install it and the Quadrant gave me the score of 514 points... so this thing really work???
I've answered you in the other post
could you post a E15a version?
Thanks!
Here you are the official thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946231
for 2.1.1 and 2.0.1
I'm not sure about be ok on e15a (i've tried on e15i)
Feedback would be amazing
I've installed this script but Quadrant display a score of ~500.
It doesn't seem to be very efficient...
After that I've tried Racht ROMs and Quadrant score are two times better !
(My favorite is the 2.3.2 CM ROM)
My Score is between 490 - 507 ? Are u sure this is work ?
Sorry...my English is poor !
Any pro guide for Jit ?
From here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877565
dalvik.vm.heapsize=32m
debug.sf.hw=1
From the Autoinstall (Xrecovery)
dalvik.vm.heapsize=30m
debug.sf.hw=1
1 is 32 m and 1 is 30m ? got different ?
Thanks , I installed JIT successfully , although I didn't notice any improvement
I have installed CUSTOM ROMs FLoyo and Gingerbread and now im back in eclair but apps in my ext2 dont work. I have to install it again or?
Hello,
I'm have a X8 E15i.
Firmware: 2.1_update1
Kernel: 2.6.29
Build: 2.0.1.A.0.47
I have installed Xrecovery. Then i have downloaded JIT and placed it as 'update.zip' in the root of my SD card...
When i boot into Xrecovery, i get the option menu. I choose 'install update.zip'
I see now the green logo, but nothing happens (even after 15minutes!)
When i press the buttons, i get the menu again.
When i choose 'reboot phone', i get the green logo again, and nothing happens (even for more than 15 minutes!)
I rebooted my phone by taking out the batterie...
What am i doing wrong?
Tx!
use HOME button as ENTER
tx for the hint!
I was pushing the wrong button...
Before: score 442
After: score 496
Any possibility to make it even higher?
grz.
iv made a jitexperiment with 2.1 rom.
using both 30 and 32 heapsize n few setting free ram.
I use quadrant many times.. never gave a same score..

516.
now, missin my score with racht rom..
what best app to test quadrant?? i see in market lots of apps to test bencmark of cpu, is that same meaning with quadrant score??
my x8 scrore more than 500, without jit. is that good?? (i use smartbench2010.apk)
Hello XDA. I have Se X8 only one week but i know something about android mobile-phones..
I have rooted mobile ..
SORRY FOR MY ENGLISH
QUESTIONS:
1.
Today i wanted download apps from Market but it didnt work..
I push download and then it says downloading and then nothing happens..
I searched forums and they says i need to go to the Options and aplications and remove memory on some apps like Google Talk,Market, etc.
I tried all but it didnt work..
How can i repair this?
2.
What is ROM and what is BEST rom for X8..
3.
I have installed a Glow Hockey 2 , Doodle Jump, RObo Defense, NFS SHIFT, mVideoPlayer QQplayer
And these dont work Modern comb , FAST 5
When i push Modern Comb it 5 secs nothing then black screen for 0,2 second and again nothing.. Im back to menu.
when i want play FAST 5 i see black screen with FAILLOFT logo and then ,, A problem occured and the download could not be completed successfully Do you want to restart download? Yes>> Checking file requires.... ... . . . . . And again A problem occured....... . . . ..
Where is problem?
4.
I downloaded Plants VS zombies and it says Little space:Remove some files and try again.
After i deleted some of my good apps and games it still not working..
Where is problem?
1. What sort of connection? If you have a poor wifi connection it may take some time to download... Also if you internal memory is full you won't be able to download anything more
2. The best for me is FroyoBread But you may argue on that
3. Never used those, but X8's hardware may simply be not enough for some high-end-device apps. For example you won't play latest asphalt on X8. There also may be an version issue. Try to find as many versions as you can and look for one that works with X8
4. How big are the apk files? Remember, no matter what you do, you won't have more than, say, 100-120 MB of internal space...
1.
My Wi-Fi connection is really good.. Fast enough for download Market apps.
2.
I dont know what is FroyoBeard and what is OC 768 MHz.. If i ask you, can you write me on Skype and help me with adding Froyobeard and OC 768 MHz ?
3.
Ok
4.
Plants VS zombies
psvzs10.apk
Type:FILE
Path:/sdcard
Size:48,63 MB ::: and i heard something about app2sd .. Will this work?
Ok, too many questions you could answer yourself by simply doing a little bit of search I'm not going to post whole tutorials here, but I'll give you reference links.
First of all:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=921652
FroyoBread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1079463
If you have problems, refer to my FAQ first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1130548
OC stands for Overclocking, you may find the module thread in the thread hub I posted. App2sd or link2sd are systems that place your apps (and in some cases data) on SD card so your internal storage remains clean and you can place more apps. An app that has over 48 MB is huge indeed and may simply have not enough space to be installed
Link2sd needs rooting. It would be simpliest to google it, and you'll need to partition your SD card for it. It's best for stock SE 2.1 ROM.
If you run any custom ROM you can find in android developement area, you gonna have app2sd by default. If you'll use your default fat32 sd card partition only, then only your apps gonna be placed on SD card. If you use ext2/3/4 partition with app2sd hack, then all your INTERNAL storage apps will go to ext partition along with data, while apps "moved to SD" will go to fat32 partition and will have data on ext. Only system apps will have both apk and data in internal storage then.
Choose to your liking
Hello thank your for that.. But please i think i need some additional help from you..
Can you contact me on Skype? Denoo9
I don't use skype, sorry
And something other where we can talk?
Since i had a lot of PM of people who want explanation to install this ROM
I make this little thread for you.
Notice that i don t make this rom i only test it and make the nandroid image
to know more about that you can read the Mioze7Ae thread here
And for those asking for the performance I try almost all the rom and this is for me the fastest and (with the sileshn theme include) it s also the most beautiful...
I had between 70 to 80 Mo RAM available without swap. With swap i reach the 95 100Mo!!! (I attach my boot.img files too but it s the first fjfalcons').
Here you can find a tutorial to fastboot boot.img to enable swap.
And it works in multilangage (i don t know which but in english spanish and french without a problem)
To enable app on sd and swap you must have your sd part in this way: a fat32 part for the media / a ext3 part / and a swap part
You can find a video guide here on his channel(you will have to search a little but i remember its called 8min Linux...) made by reverendkjr
I make another image and i test it 3times (from sbf to the end...) so all works !!!!!!
For the beginners i will come back to the sbf.
1. SBF
So I m using the Singapore SBF I think you don t need it to get it work but it s better for those who have problem to change it too (it seems to work in every country)
So you can find the singapore sbf here
And you install it wiht RSDlite (do a google search): first put your phone in bootloader mode (when the phone is off you hold the camera and the volume up button while powering up) then you select your sbf and flash it.
2. Recovery
Now you have a fresh new system
You have to install the recovery
First of all you will have to install a file explorer form the market (you can use the one you want it will be deleted when flashing...)
Now you have to move the two apk(universal and root and openrecovery) i attach to this post in your sd
you can now install with your file explorer the apks.
Start with universal and root. Intall it and root your device.
Install the open recovery now. (Install it and install recovery system)
Now you must install Androidiani OpenRecovery I think it will work with out but it s easy and the recovery work better with it... So you just have to extract this zip to your sd (overwriting the similar files)
Now you have a working recovery. To launch it just go to open recovery and click on recovery boot (don t forget to copy the nandroid image folder in the sd card/ nandroid/openrecovery before you go to the recovery)
3. Restoring the nandroid image
Now you have a working AOR (androidiani openrecovery) and you have extract the attach nandroid image to sd card/ nandroid/openrecovery folder
Don t forget that nandroid need a folder name with out any space and in this folder you can only have .img or .md5 files.
So in Open recovery you go to nandroid / restore /
And if you don t change the folder name you must have CyanogenTI0808allupdates in the list
You select it and launch an restore all operation.
After that you come back to the first menu and wipe dalvik cache/ cache partition and wipe data / factory reset
Now you can reboot system. And it s done. Don t forget that the first boot is very long (about 5 or 6minutes)
CyanogenTI0808allupdates (the nandroid image)
(made and posted the 08/08/2011)
With all the new update from the official post (until the 08/08)
And the Twisted Inception theme from sileshn (with the update for the white text and the new battery icon)
You have to change the hour color (in settings / Cyanogen Mod / user interface / status bar) (from black to white)
Known issues:
- Fm Radio not working
- Media Gallery button not working
- Recovery boot (from the restart menu) don t work (you have to reboot holding the volume up button)
- Led notifications from the Cyanogen mod menu don t work but Led Me Know works
- Some users have issues with installing payed apps... I never have so....
Just a reminder to new readers: do not flash the fjfalcon boot.img. You have to use fastboot boot boot.img over USB every time.

Without my apps i have 95 100Mo of free ram (with out the app2ext I have so nearly 100 apps and it take some ram...)
But with all my apps and with the swap enable I can get between 70 to 80Mo
I don t use advtaskkiller anymore i think it use more ram that it can free
I use autokiller memory optimizer (it change the settup of the android task killer so no useless use of ram) and to kill my apps i use the Go task manager (a widget from the golauncher app)
wat u set at the autokiller memory optimizer?

Optimum settings.
But maybe someone have others settings better?
I know some use minfreemanager (already in the rom) but it seems the same than autokiller
b4 reboot the cm6 room was pretty stable... y after i reboot thn it started to freeze?
my 1st fastboot was pretty stable.. can run asphalt6... but the next time ll freeze... bcuz i install chainfire3d have to reboot and i have to fastboot again
even with fast boot i m only getting around 50mb of ram
Here is my Autokiller settings (user set, not pre-set and no fastboot). The work for me after many days/weeks of trial, error and monitoring.

I don't do a lot of gaming but I do listen to quite a bit of online media.
I average around 65-75mb all the time and at the very least 55mb when running Tune-in or Jango radios or Poweramp (memory hog btw but really good media player).
Side note: keep you widgets to a minimum. They eat RAM.
i just encounter some prob when swaped... for the 1st time i swaped it work fine and smooth all the way and no freezing but later on i reboot and try to swaped again my xt started to freeze when run certain apps...

i don't know about that, I went without widgets for the longest time cause everybody always told me how they eat ram and battery. Now for the past month or so I have had 1-2 widgets on each of my home pages and I really don't see much change. I am keeping the same amount of ram available and battery seems to drain the same. Not much difference, but I could be wrong I would have to go back to no widgets for a day or 2 and monitor my ram to be positive. I do know it isn't nearly as bad as what people say that kept me from using them to begin with.

I use both minfree and autokiller and they seem to work together, I set my autokiller and minfreemanager automatically copies the settings. Don't know if it does much good but doesn't do any harm. It seems to work good

Think of it this way. Say you have a 4x2 or 4x4 widget that is oh say MSNBC or Reuters newsfeed or your Facebook/G+ feed. These not only tax you home screen memory but they are always "running" too. If you have something like Widgetlocker where you can customize your lock screen and put apps or link on it directly, I have found that it munches free RAM really bad (14-17mb). So much so that I don't use it anymore (paid app too).
All a widget is is really just a custom icon that either monitors a running app/service, in which case it itself is running. Or it is running on its own, like a clock or feed or some kind.
Something like mClock or Battstat isn't too harsh, but 3rd party Keyboards can be quite draining too (I use Better kb and it is around 11mb but I like it and have had it since day one).
Good way to check is to go to Settings->Apps->Running Services and each will have the MB on the far right. Anything in double digits is hungry for your RAM.
I know you use that Go widget. Check out how much RAM it is using by going into settings and see if it is worth having it on there. Might be. You seem to be getting good RAM so is it aint broken don't fix it.
first what i do when i flash a new rom.
1. i install system app remover,and uninstall all apps i dont use.such as radio,DSPmanager,voice dialer,voice search,email apk.
2.for speed improovement:if you know and want to overclock your phone its ok.but dont expect your battery to last two days.it will last one day, maybie lower.it depends on wich frequency you set.i think 710Mhz is the best frequency.juwe's ram script is also good, but use v6 supercharger.it blasts.i dont use overclock, but still i get 1200+ quadrant points.
3.battery save:use program fast reboot from market.it frees ram,and kills background running apps.undervolt-lowering cpu frequency.your phones battery usage will be much lower, but expect some lag and your phone will be slower.but overall its not worth it.
battery calibration.you can do it manualy, but i use a program from market.its all explained there.use juice defender,it helps a little.
4.for those who dont know how to use supercharger script!
1,download this attachment from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991276 (third attachment, its called like this txt V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-update8.sh.txt
2. put it on your sd card, and rename it to v6.sh
3.run terminal emulator, type su,then enter, and you will be prompted for superuser permission.click allow.
4.type in this command: sh sdcard/v6.sh
5.then its easy later, choose an option you want.
If you brick your device with it,its not my problem.if you dont feel safe, dont use it.i never encountered any problems.
OVERCLOCKING!
ok it seems like every starter vonders how its done.so lets start.
1.download the attachment from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020313&highlight=overclock+module the attacment is called x8oc-v004.zip
2.copy the x8oc.ko from your sd card to system/lib/modules using root explorer.
3.now go to system/etc folder, and find file that is called hw_config.sh,long touch on it,then choose an option "open in text editor".
4.now when you opened it,put in this line in top- insmod / system/lib/modules/x8oc.ko # x8 overclocking
5.save changes, and go to setcpu app and choose how much you want to overclock it.for me the best frequency is from 710Mhz to 787Mhz.but you can go higher.
Tell me if i forgot something, and most importantly, dont TROLL!I am only here to help.
so here it is in short.i hope i helped
Thanx alot mate for your effort, here's what I do :
1. Advanced Task Killer
2. Memory Manager
3. Battery Booster
That's it... and I've found 40% boost in battery timing...
Use app called fast reboot.because task killers spend more battery.

how to use it on x8??
1. post updated,check it out.
ok , I unistalled all those three apps and trying fast reboot , will check if it improves battery or not, but it's causing 1 problem though , whenever I hit fast reboot I got a notification on status bar "Data traffic Disabled" and 1 Missed called...
while I've already cleared those two notifications by using that clear button on status bar...
I did disable data traffic intentionally !! why is that ?
p.s by celebrating battery you mean wipe battery status after a month ???
I never had that issue with fast reboot.and battery calibration is somethong like this: charge the battery to 100%,then use it untill the phone shuts down, and charge it to 100% again.its the manual way.but download the program from market called battery calibration, its easier.
I tried the Supercharger script a week ago on my FroyoBread and choosing option 4 (balanced) would just make launcherpro loop-crash when i booted the phone and then after a while just reboot itself and repeat.. It totally broke everything... How come?
Some options dont work good with x8.try using agressive 1 or agressive two.try to experiment with various options.it cant harm you.for me,the best is agressive 1,or megaram.

Yes, it does harm me because when it ****s i cant use xrecovery or anything... I have to reroot and everything all over again.
Sorry man,i didnt know.it never happened to me,and i tried all options.
sorry bro,but i never had that problem.
and now i have exactly the same problem..i cant boot neither to ROM or xRecovery or CWM..what can i do now??
Flash it again with seus.
i actually did the thing, just some hours ago no issues, i chose multitasking.
seems to be pretty good!
And how exactly will i update with SEUS?..as i said earlier i cannot boot to rom..i had floyo 2.2.5 v1.0..and i can't load to xrecovery..and the phone must be connected first to pc companion to recognize the phone and fw version..to do that, the phone must be powered on and functual..hmm..is there any way to bypass that and go straight to flash an x8? i thought about using another x8 but i cannot find any

Assuming your phone is off, hold the back button and connect it to the PC via USB. The green LED should light up. PC should recognize it as flash mode or some such thing. When you run SEUS and it says connect your phone to the PC just do this and proceed with it. Then re root, xrecovery bla bla youre good to go
As for supercharger, for minfrees to stick you have to run the script everytime you reboot and the best setting for daily use is Balanced 3 (option 6) Ive pretty much tested all of them.
@xperiauser132 there is a instalation problem on supercharger
correct installation for supercharger:
1.use script manager Download:Here
2.Press menu --> more --> Advanced options --> config tick Browse as root
3.Run v6.sh from sdcard dont forget to check run as root
4.choose an option you want
5.select reboot (number 16 on supercharger option)
6.re-run the script (v6.sh)
7.again choose an option you want
8.Type exit (17)
9.go to /Data find 99supercharger.sh --> open as script Tick run as root and run at boot Save (for stock only (2.1) )
10. reboot
Well, I've tried this supercharger thing, and for me, at least, there was no improvement, if anything, the phone was slightly worse - with quadrant giving me an average of 34 points less compared to how my phone normally runs - using GingerDX v010 at 710Mhz on Smartass.
Maybe i'm doing it wrong?
Backed up phone now to pre-supercharger status.

Thats Great to Hear , Enjoy the Arc !
Well, I have done it quite similar that you did.
I only didn't use doom kernel for partitioning sd card.
My class 10 8gb has second partition of 1gb ext3, that is enough for my use.
In lupus menu through TE I have CACHE 1024. Don't know what is your value... ?!?
Now I have installed around 40 apps. most of them i have greenefied.
I experience modest lag.
Before I had 3 times the same configuration and tested performance on around 80 apps. There was heavy lag. Even When I uninstalled most of apps.
I always format everything. I have 3 peaces of 8gb SD cards that have myself tested R/W speeds around 20/12 mb/s.
I formatted them 7/1 and 6/2 ... doesn't matter.
Now I experience lag, when using internet browser and someone calls me, or if I want to make call... when using numpad, there is lag. I also have to wait to respond to call.
So my arc s is not even close to speed monster.
After all that you have written, you didn+t mention nothing about tweaking cpu speed...
On my last flash and install I haven't tweaked cpu, cause I experienced heat on the back side of phone and no noticeable advance in speed.
Greg
Lupus Kernel allows OverClocking!!.... 1.6 Ghz with Intellidemand or Interactive will do for normal Use !!
Now I'm flashing again... this time with 32gb SD class 10 with max speeds of around 36mb/s-17mb/s, r-w. I formatedit 27,5gb fat32 / 2 gb ext3.
still don't know if 1024 should be max cache value for ext3... in lupus through terminal emulator...

I love UHD with Lupus 16, it very fast
Xperia T ICS with ktg kernel is very good.
Go try. Ty!
I'm totaly lost in all this, I'm new and it's hard for me to understand all this stuff.
I have Arc S LT18i, Android 4.0.4, rooted, but dont know how to do all this.

Can somebody guide me better ?

to install custom kernels you need to unlock your bootloader (can do it officially from sony)
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/unlock-yourboot-loader/
after this its need to install kernale manually via cmd OR flashtool, there plenty of tutorials in ARC forum how to do this
good luck !

you can enter recovery (kernel menu) via:
reboot menu --> reboot device --> rboot to recovery (need be activated 1st in dev settings "show more reboot options")
or press CONTINUESLY volume down on very 1st boot screen (legacy xperia)
good luck!
Instead of flashing the Doom kernel to partition the SD card, or using Minitool, is it possible to partition it on a computer using gparted? Also, is the LUPUS kernal flashed using fastboot, or can it be flashed in CWM?
