Okay, so I saw that WildPuzzle had WiFi N support and it worked great!
But now I'm wondering, is there a way to get the WiFi N support to any other ROM.
Your help is appreciated!
wifi n depends on kernel, not rom, so, look for kernels with wifi n support and flash it to any rom, bam, you have wifi n
I have wifi n at home and I fixed it by using a static ip.
So, about the kernel
You got any links for any kernel with n support for wildfire
and about the static IP adress thing, how to do it?
first on your computer bring up the command prompt.
then type in ipconfig /all
Keep that open and go to wi-fi settings on your phone
Click menu and advanced
And there you'll see the static IP options
Copy all but the IP one from your computer
For the ip change the last number a bit (Lets say your computer is using 192.168.0.5, type in 192.168.0.6 for example, because they mustn't overlap.)
here you can fine latest kernel and radio

Hi there,
I've just upgraded my HTC Tattoo to the SP-FroYo v2.2.1 AOSP ROM, I had hoped some WiFi problems had been solved. At my work we have a WPA2-PSK encrypted network which also sends out a WPA-PSK encrypted network. Only my HTC Tattoo shows it as a WEP encrypted network, but I can't connect. I use a WPA2-PSK encrypted network at home and it works fine.
Is there a update available to fix some WiFi signals?
Thanks!
Did you had a costum ROM before that one?
Sometimes, if something doesn't work, i allways flash oficial ROM first, then root and finally flash the costum ROM.
Cheers
I had the original ROM before this, and in that ROM it didn't work either!
Have you tried to go to :
Settings > Wireless Controls > Wi-Fi Settings and press the Menu button, select Advance > Regulatory domain
And tell the phone to use (all) 14 channels.
Cheers
It still isn't working, it recognising it but I can't connect
I installed MDJ android froyo build 4.3 and everything was working well.
i had to enter ip address for a certain network at work, everything got messed up, so i removed the ip address enteries i made (use static ip) and still needs ip for connecting, i also checked DLNA auto ip and nothing changed!!
keeps trying to connect (giving me obtaining ip address) and disconnects, doesn't want to connect.
i tried reinstalling android again but keeps giving me this damn problem!!!! i think there r some files not deleted
i tried connecting on WM, i found out that it doesn't connect also
what to do for that ****, really annoyed about that!!
TMOUS HD2 on stock Rom 2.10 and radio 2.08, WM 6.5 and recently installed android MDJ 4.3
Thanks in advance

You may need to enter correct APN settings and or change your DNS settings as well. Check my sig and thumbnail for more help.
hello all
I have a problem with the new kernel Tytung 11
Wi-Fi does not work
Tytung says it's changed address Wi-Fi
and update the white list of the wireless router
how do you '??
thank you very much
Which version of android you have ?
Android ginger 2.3.5
Roma MIUI 1.8.19
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10429937&postcount=3
maybe it's the change my address?
Hmm, dont now.. I flash new kernel, same 2.3.5 droid, and have connection to wi fi without any glitch..
Maybe you should try a soft reset?
You need to get the new mac address of your phone first. Go to Settings->Wireless & Networks->Wi-Fi Settings->[Menu] Advanced -> MAC Address.
Next you need to go into your wifi router's settings and add the mac address to the list of addresses allowed to connect to the router. This is different for every router unfortunately, so I cannot help you with that.
You can modify to full permissions of wpa_supplicant in /system/bin use root explorer.
but after reboot you must do it again.
hello friends
today i m showing you a 100 percent working wpa_supplicant for galaxy s2 gingerbread rom for ad hoc network. yes it is test by me and also this is modified by me too. no one is responcible and cant take credit for developing it. currently i m using and testing on litening rom 6.1 and it works flawlessly. so no more wait for new wpa supplicant. becoz wait is over now. use it and reply me about ny bugs. i will try to revamp it. bye
download attachment and use it
if u like my work then plz donate me on my paypal account
[email protected]
and plz reply thanks
This is great!!! Tested on my galaxy SGS1 and works perfectly!
Thanks!!!
Edit: i can connect only if i set my ad-hoc network unproteced. If i add wpa2 or even wep security the phone gets stuck on "Obtaining IP address...", but it could be my ubuntu notebook.
Awsome sauce!!! Been waiting for this. Downloading and testing it now on my SG1.
Thanks
edit: just realised it is not a CWM flashable zip. Where do I put this?
edit2: figured out where to put it so dont worry. Cannot obtain IP address though on an unsecured ADHOC network.
what is this ?
It alows your phone to use your laptop/desktops internet connection. Create an ad-hoc wireless network on your laptop/desktop and then search for that network on your phone connect and voila your phone should now use the interent through your laptop/desktop.
I like it cos it means I can use my internet connection at work instead of 3g.
SGS2 on lite'ning v4.2 (2.3.4)
Open: 'obtaining IP' loop
WEP: 'obtaining IP' loop
WPA: [no connection]
it is not cwm file. first u have to unzip it then copy and paste this on system/bin folder on ur rooted gs1 and gs2.but this will work perfectly on gingerbread 2.3.4
hi haymzee
you should use litening rom ver 6.1 not 4.2 otherwise it will not work correctly.so first update ur rom in 6.1 and then use this wpa file ok
OH YES! will test and report; long awaited!
I can connect in the morning but after turn airplane mode on-off, then I can't connect till now.
It shows obtaining IP address, even I try to re-boot both phone. T_T
Hello everyone,
I finally managed to solve the problem of connections
thanks
hi to everybody,

Hello, how did you manage to solve the looping 'Obtaining IP address.." problem ?
Also got the same problem of Obtaining IP address. I tried many configurations of changing the ip address manually with static ip address settings
Its working perfectly on our rom.
10 char will b built in in the next release
For all noobs:
Use root explorer
Unzip and put the file in system/bin
Reboot
Done.
Now test
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
I use LogMeIn.apk
any solution for GB 2.3.5 ???
I've tried ad hoc on 4 different laptops and it only worked on the newer ones
I can confirm this works 100%. I tethered the internet connection on my Macbook Air with the phone using AdHoc Wifi successfully.
Hi guys...am only geting wifi at home...not workin at my brothers house. it keeps conecting and disconnecting and authenticating..however when i boot the phone from windows the wifi works ok at his house!...i was using tytung v 2.8 gingerbread... i have made a fresh instal using tytung v 3.0 gingerbread but the problem is stil there.....using a htc hd2 running andrtoid from sd card.........please could somebody shed sum light!!!...
control wifi security type of router. wpa is better for android. you may have problems with wep security
...after the phone has scanned for wifi it brings up WPA/WPA2 PSK alongside the network name...after keying in the security password it just wont connect.......keeps connecting and disconnecting......seem to be having the same problem at me mates house aswell!!

Try a trila and error - disable security on the router completely for a few minutes and see if it stays connected. If it does stay connected without security, download the latest tytung kernel package from his thread, extract the wpa_supplicant from /system/bin and push it to the /system/bin in your android. See if that helps.
ok..thanks for your reply... i will try this out...if it does the trick you will have to advice me on the system bin thing!!!!!.........sorry i am new to android romming...might possibly drop you a email....
