Well, I downloaded"G3MOD v2.0.rar"
When i extracted the file i got "system.img" usually it's .tar
I couldn't flash it with Odin
And the instructions to install the ROM isn't mentioned.
1) Install G3Mod 1.7 (Pick a edition out of the 4).
2) Copy system.img in /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/G3MODv2_ROM
3) Go into the recovery mode (shutdown the phone, press VOL UP + VOL DOWN + HOME + POWER button to start the phone, when GT-I5800 text pops up release the POWER button and keep on pressing VOL UP VOL DOWN and HOME buttons until you are in recovery screen).
4) Go into Multiboot and select the G3MODv2_ROM and let the phone boot up. Might take several minutes.

I flashed G3MOD 1.7 Ultimate kernel in my Stock ROM
Then i copied system.img in /sdcard/Android/data/g3mod/G3MODv2_ROM
And made a "back up" of my current ROM and "switched" to "G3MODv2_ROM"
This is how it looks now:

You can't build a signature with under 10 posts or so.
What's wrong with the sreenshots you show?
Mine doesn't look like how its supposed to ,
It looks just like the stock ROM except the icons look smaller than before
I wanted mine to look just like this -
Have a look at the first post of the development thread.
[ROM] G3MOD v2.0 - Released
It says "Stock Theme" under ROM Features.

Well, when we're talking about "Multi boot" we dont exactly mean the kind of Multi-boot on your PC, like Linux and Windows, where you have to make different partitions for both the OS
Here, we are just switching one ROM to another from CWM Recovery. So basically what that mean is, you are using one ROM at a time
Hope that's clear

If you dont want to use multiboot, then you dont have to. You can use 1.7v as any other Kernel with One ROM as well. Multiboot is an additional functionality added by DharamG so that we can, if we want have another ROM, without having to flash it using ODIN all the time. It is of great value for testers and those of us who like to try out new ROMs. You can as well use 1.7 on Kyrillos 7..it will work great.

Fixed: I took the app2sd-v2 script from here and stick it to /system/etc/init.d/ then factory reset.

Question and Answer for Wildfire and Wildpuzzle ROM.
How do you root a wildfire?
Use Unrevoked 3.21. Is it safe? Yes, it is 99.9% safe. Just don't unplug your phone and make sure that your computer is good in condition and it won't restart automatically.
After root, what should I do?
After root, you need a ROM or you can use your original ROM. Here is the list of ROM
Which ROM do you prefer?
Currently I am using Wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1 and I feel that it is cool.
What is the difference between original ROM and custom ROM?
Custom ROM such as wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1 unlocked a lot of feature such as live wallpaper in sense, pre-install apps can be deleted and so on. Custom ROM is smoother and gives you more internal memory.
Which ROM is faster? Original or Custom?
After root, you can use custom rom with overclock kernal. Wildfire can be clocked up to 768mhz which is 240mhz more than the original frequency.
How do you install Wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1?
Just visit my How to get 165MB in Wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1 thread and anything about installing rom, it will be listed there.
If I am using Wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1 0.6 and i want to update to 0.7. What should I do?
Here is the problem most of us face. Just download 0.7 and go recovery, install zip from SD and press install. Wait for few minutes, it will become 0.7.
If I want to change my ROM and I want to move my apps to other ROM. What should I do?
First, go market and download on the fly backup.
Then, all your apps will be kept in SD card as APK file.
After you installed your ROM, just open your SD card, all apps will be there.
Press install, and you have all your apps back.
I want the feature that Wildpuzzle ROM v8.0.11 has it, and Wildpuzzle ROM v2.2.1 dont have. What should I do?
Some feature such as enable trackpad to wake only available in v8.0.11 and not v2.2.1. Just download it from V8.0.11 and install it. I will be working.
When I open some of my games, it showed weird stuff such as bad graphic. What should I do?
Because wildfire is a quite low end phone, it doesn't support HD games such as NFS Shift. There is no way to fix it.
Why my angry bird is not working in wildfire?
1st, open angry bird apps.
2nd, when the game is loaded (when you can listen the music), press screen off button.
3rd, switch on screen again and it will work.
What frequency do you use?
I am using 710mhz (performance) when battery >0.0*C (degree Celsius), 122-480mhz (on demand) screen off.
How long can your wildfire battery last for?
I am using 24/7 WCDMA network. With full WCDMA network (full bar) + Mobile Network on, it will last about 4-5hours while ebuddy is on and screen doesn't off.
Do you use Task Killer?
No, I read a thread about task killer. It is bad if you are keep killing your apps.
What if partition not working? Showed >> [a Triangle with a Exclamation point]
1st, try take out your battery and try reboot and partition it again.
2nd, if it is still not working after several tries, try to go market and download the ROM Manager in market.
After partition, your files still in SD card?
1st, try go partition again.
2nd, your phone isn't root yet.
3rd, try another SD card.
When you want to connect your SD card by using Card Reader, it shows "You have to format before using it"
1st, try to get a new Card Reader.
2nd, try another SD card.
I need to change the size of my ext, How??
1st, backup your phone
2nd, copy SD to PC
3rd, go menu > setting > sd and phone storage > unmount SD > format sd
4th, create partition
5th, copy SD from PC
6th, go recovery, restore your phone
7th, all ext and files will restore to ext.
8th, restart and done.
I want cache move to ext. what should i do??
If you are using Wildpuzzle rom 0.6 (or any rom that supported ext cache), you can just install 0.8 and your ext cache will continue working.
I want the apps that have in Wildpuzzle rom 0.6, and 0.8 doesn't have it. How???
Dont worry, you can create your own update zip or apps and install it by visiting How to create your own zip?
My google map navigation is not working? I want it? How?
Just download Brut Mode google map 4.6 and install it. It will work for ANY country.
Special Thanks to anyone that link my page.
More Q&A coming soon.
Thanks,

You need to use ROM Manager
Install Rom manager
Click Flash recovery
Click reboot into recovery
Flash from there.
You will need to lower the current CWM... flash the file i attached for you (it will temporary lower the cwm version), and then flash wildpuzzle

You can't flash it because 3.0+ are using Edify scripting because of Gingerbread.
Almost all 2.2 roms are in Amend scripting which isn't supported by 3.0+

I am Soooo Sick of re-installing Nand Roms ..
Try this .. nope it sucks .. try this .. nope that sucks ..
Flash back and reinstall everything! ( Hits Head On Desk~! )
So I am Asking for your help!
There Needs to be a way to backup the entire nand rom!
( Not Just The Programs - And Data )
So you can try different roms .. and go-back to one that kinda works! lol
( have tried sooo many that I wanna kill myself! - No I am No Kidding! )
I can not tell you how many times I have got a rom working 98% and
then install something .. or change just ONE setting ..
And BOOOOM .. It Doesnt work right ever again!
Dam ClockWork Is Freaking Crazy Hard ..
Or I am Way To Stupid to do it .. And If I am How Many Others?

Partion This .. Do that .. Nope that doesn't work .. try this .. nope~!
( Have you seen All the problems in the forms? )
There has to be an EASY WAY TO BACKUP!
And Yes I Have Tried .. My Backup and Titanium Backup They SUCK!
They Do Not Work Well .. And Do Not Backup All Settings And Files!
( Yes I know They Say They Do .. No They Don't )
+ You Cant use them on different roms .. Screws Things Up .. I Know I Have Tried!
We Need something very simple ..
Just like how DFT Team made it with MAGLDR 1.11
SIMPLE - Easy - Works Every Freaking Time!!
Something that makes (1) Img file that gets copied to the SD Card!
No Partions Ect. Crap .. Then you could just Flash it back
I am Looking for a Complete NAND Memory Backup Program more like ..
Acronis or Ghost That Does an Image of the complete Nand Memory.
Something Universal .. would not matter if you use NAND or ZIP Or > Whatever comes next! to install Android
I figure .. If we can backup using "clockwork" maybe it could not be that hard
to make a program .. that will Image the Nand from Sec. 0 - 99999.
I am trying to express my feelings and MANY others I have seen in other threads.
That we need a SIMPLE.. way to backup the ENTIRE NAND And Do A Restore.
Maybe a VERY Striped Down Ver Of Clockwork Of Some Type ..
And I Would Hit The DONATE Button ..
So Freaking Fast It Would Make Your Head Spin!
And I Am Sure MANY Others Would to!
I Am Hoping A DEV Or Someone WAY Smarter then All Of Us Will Make
A Program That Will Do this .. Thats What This Thread Is About ..
HELP! PLEASE HELP! OMG PLEASE ..
Before I Kill Myself! The Wife And Kids A Depending on you!
I don't see the difficulty of installing CWM, it's descripted nicely:
For new user;
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
2. Extract downloaded zip to a folder of your choice
3. Copy contents of copy_to_sd_root (initrd.gz and zImage) to the root of your sd card
4. boot into magldr and select USB Flasher option while phone is connected to PC
5. Run DAF.exe included in the zip and follow onscreen instructions.
6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
Click to collapse
Inside CWM, do a Nandroid backup and you're good.
Oh and Titanium backup works very well, you probably just don't know how to use it properly. Also, not all settings can be easily recovered among different ROMs, because, you know, the ROMs are different.
I haven't got time to follow every single [Tutorial] thread in here,
so don't know if there is a solution to back-up everything into 1 file (similar to *.ghost back-up file in Window).
Thus, +1 with the demand of WarLockW above

Right .. you can not .. use the settings .. Not thats the point of this ..
The Point is we need a easy way to backup CURRENT ROM .. and restore it.
Without having to do 1000 things that may or may not work.
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
( Were does that go ? And Why Do you need it ? - What One Do I Need ? - Again Hmmm .. )
( Were is that installed? - Why Do you need to do it ? - Does it Erase your Current Rom? )
6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
( Have you Looked at the Menu's ? ) Hmmm .. Ok then ..
Ok .. Or Run a program that has two Options ?
Backup .. Restore ..
Hmmm .. Wonder whats easier ?

But Again .. I am dumb .. and may others are too ..
We Need a SIMPLE Way to back up these dam roms ..
That works 99-100% of the time .. and dont have to worry is this rom compatible with this partion ect.
MAGLDR 1.11 works 100% and is easy!
Thats all I am Saying .. SIMPLE Being the key word~!
Imagine a backup inside of MAGLDR. That would be great. I want to try different ROM's but like you, find CWM too confusing. Even if I do back up a ROM using CWM where does it save? And how do I restore it if the ROM I flashed isn't to my liking? Does the whole ROM be in the file or just your data, apps, settings etc?

I really don't like this arrogant tone you're using. It's obviously you who doesn't know how you gotta take care of all this stuff, so a little more respect towards others trying to help you won't harm.

Yeah, I don't really see any tool backing up a future or old ROM, cause you know, that's not possible. Nandroid is really just 1 thing, and it always works.
1. download one of the partition files, if you don't know which one you need, use the 250M one or check with rom developer.
( Were does that go ? And Why Do you need it ? - What One Do I Need ? - Again Hmmm .. )
Click to collapse
Where that goes is explained in step 3. Patience, young padawan. Which one you need is pointed out too: 250M, unless your rom dev told you to do otherwise. Having problems reading?
Why you need it? Because it's a necessary file, obviously. If you wouldn't need it, you wouldn't have to download it. I don't think you're after some technical in-depth analysis either, so just do as you're told. Easy, right?
( Were is that installed? - Why Do you need to do it ? - Does it Erase your Current Rom? )
Click to collapse
Surprisingly, DAF.exe is in the zip file you just downloaded. Why do you need to do it? You're installing something here ffs, do you expect to magically install CWM without doing anything?
Yes it does, that's also mentioned in the thread.
6. After complete, again boot into magldr and select "Boot AD SD" option
7. ClockworkMod recovery should load, you can flash a rom from here.
( Have you Looked at the Menu's ? ) Hmmm .. Ok then ..
Click to collapse
Which menu's? Boot AD SD is indeed in the Magldr menu, flashing a zip is indeed in the CWM menu's. Yes, it's in a submenu.
Ok .. Or Run a program that has two Options ?
Backup .. Restore ..
Hmmm .. Wonder whats easier ?
Click to collapse
Yeah, that would indeed be easier. So quit all the whining and use CWM, seriously.
can any one help?

its the same rom as http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957123
but with /data and /cache converted to ext2 filesystem (lagfix).
/system was already /ext2 converted by Kyriilos
also note that this will wipe your /data partition, and do not wipe /data and /cache in recovery
Could you pls make it with the coming 2.2 Version, too

its a misprint! My name is Kyrillos and not Kyriilos
Its done
Because Kyrillos post a version without lagfix, so we can implant apollos "app2sd fix"
[ROM] Kyrillos' ROM v2.2 Gingerbread Edition without lagfix
Lagfix + data2sd (Quadrant score 570 + Lot of space for apps)
EDIT: ITS REAL DONE!
Link
I have got a problem with Kyrillos's ROM 2.2 With Special Lagfix.
After flash every thing is great until I restore apps and reboot phone
system services crush (force close) all the time.
I flash it 4 times (directly form Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal and from original JPF),
every time i obtain the same result ;(
On Kyrillos ROM 2.2 Normal it's work like a dream.
Anyone have any idea why?
(i post here cuz i can't post in development yet)
How do you restore apps ?
No idea ... but lagfix is very experimental and the way it was done is not the best. Use lagfix to test : your phone may crash.
/system, /data and /cache are converted to ext2 fs : we didnt include any filecheck if the phone was shut down ... ext2 has no journal system and could make android instable in my opinion if the phone is shutdown (like if you remove battery).
Someone may correct me if I am wrong.

I restore apps by My Backup Root and it's always work.
Now I flash normal Kyrillos ROM 2.2 then install Motafoca lagfix and everything works well.
It's supposedly give the same effect but phone works without crushes.
Maybe it's a bug in that ROM or maybe my backuped stuff screw something up.
I really dunno
I installed Kyrillos' Rom 2.2 (Normal Version) yesterday. Really nice...everything is working fine so far. Does anyone know how to take screenshots with this rom? [Back + Home] doesn't work

Try QtABD. It runs on PC and can take screenshots as well.
Edit: Sorry, you think probably of a standalone solution where you don't need a PC.

Yes, that's what I'm searching for. I thought taking screenshots by pressing Back+Home is a Froyo feature. But in this Rom it doesn't work. So if maybee I'll search the Market for a screencapture-app
Hi!
Can't write in dev part so to try here ... after all I am n00b
Installed 2.2 normal and then did lag+app2sd and everything is working nicely ...
I have a question though ... what if I decide to ay usd2.99 for LauncherPro Plus. Can I install it over the LauncherPro that is integrated into this ROM. I tried uninstall and install over but w/o success. It's system app (so it says) and I can't do aything about it. On previous e.g. normal JPF I was able touninstall reinstall LPPro. What did I miss?
Tnx.
LauncherPro Plus is essentially a key unlocking new features in free version, no need to install anything, especially reinstalling launcher.
To remove system app you have to root your phone (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=778880) and get acces to system files (Root Explorer, qtadb, adb). Of course if you are removing one launcher, you have to have another already installed.
Nice hearing that apollo's lagfix is running well on kyrillo's 2.2, it's running nice on lestat's 1.1 as well.
Anyway to have all (Cahce\System\Data\ converted to ext2 and also partition the sdcard (apollo5801's lagfix). So in short, how can I have special lagfix + sdcard partitioned?
hi guys,
i think it would be wise to use the experience already earned from galaxy s i9000
from guys like supercurio, darky and hardcore, their work is VERY STABLE as it is heavily tested and proved to do miracles.
no one is using ext2 anymore,
i quote:
"Note: Only lagfixes using EXT4 are robust. Other lagfixes run the risk of data loss on freezing, hard-reboots, or sudden power loss."
they have opted for ext4 , to be more specific:
hardcore (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=822756)
would recommend
DATA_FS=ext4
CACHE_FS=ext4nj
DBDATA_FS=ext4
and he has applied many other tweaks
i dont see why his experience cant be used for the galaxy 3
in addition the link below could be useful
[REF] Details about /system RFS corruption and HOWTO correct it (fix included)

Hello guys,
I try level best to find the solutions to the problems on my own, but at times like this i have no way other than to bother you.
Here's the problem:
Cannot see the sd-ext partition in the CWM recovery.
Do not get the backup of my sd-ext partition after making backup of the device.
'Restore sd-ext' IS available in 'Advanced Restore' options, but when to use since there's no backup being made.
and so every other problem which may arrive due to this.
Details:
Rom: Jellyblast3.0.4
Kernel: RepencisV7 Final
CWM tried: cwm-madteam-galaxY.zip, CWM_bla_bla.zip, CWMv5-Skin1980-GT-S5360.zip
Everything is in native rfs format
sd-ext is formatted with ext2
Using A2sd by Darktremor
sd-ext IS mounted and working fine(screenshots)
No additional tweaks by me.
Only ten scripts in init.d(attached)
CWM Error Report: ...backing up cache..sd-ext not found..
skipping backup of sd-ext. Creating md5 sum..backup complete. (log attached)
Please let me know..
if any other data/detail is required.
I don't know what's the cause of this problem, though i feel like it might be something related to the kernel.
And also since its Repencis kernel i don't have any clear idea about whom to approach!
And thus made an individual thread for this peculiar problem.
Hopefully, looking forward to find a solution to this problem.

Thankyou sir for your kind interest, but i have used that CWM also.
And talking about kernel sir, i would first prefer to solve this problem then think of opting to 'alternative' solutions.
Because i prefer full a2sd support, i settled with this kernel after testing many.
The only kernel that supports backup of ext is whitesxp kernel
Flash this kernel and the perm cwm included with it will support backup of ext partition although creating a nandriod backup is much slower than with other kernels

Hello marcussmith2626,
I once also tried Merruk kernel and it also used to make the backup of sd-ext when making backup of the device.
In fact. . .its a common thing.
Whenever backups are being made, if sd-ext is present then its backup is automatically made by CWM.
The problem is, in my case its not happening like that.
And about WhiteXP's kernel..
do it support a2sd?
I did try this kernel too. . .but didn't use it for long..since appeared as if it was draining my battery fast.

You sure? I swear I remember using the CWM with whitexp's kernel 1.3.3 and I lost my sd-ext data upon backing up and then restoring.

Use whitexp's kernel and your ext partition should be ext3 . I noticed that Ext3 format is the only format which supported backing up and restoring sd-ext partition successfully. That's my experience . You may like to try.

ThankYou blackpanther2209 :good:, the CWM you provided solved my problem
It detected sd-ext..:good:
manually mounted it..:good:
made the backup of sd-ext..:good:
checked it in sd card..:good:
Restored it..:good:
All good and working :highfive:
But how is it working, when other CWM of the same version (i.e 5.0.2.6) are unable to detect my ext2 partition?
ThankYou all for your support
ThankYou all..

Well, I don't think that's needed now. I already found a working version of CWM which solved MY problem.

I have it recognised on a previous rom but now it won't restore the backups to it.
thank
edit....

i have been to every single stinkin forum about this topic, and it seem that you guys know what you are talking about- my phone- galaxy s gt-i9000 or something like that- long story short- battery died. nothing else happened, and now it will not boot back up. I figured out how to get to the dark core recovery- yet wiping, restoring, mounting, unmounting, formatting, etc- i get the same message- ERROR. I downloaded something named "kies" thinking that would help (looking at a different forum) and it doesnt even recognize that the phone is connected via USB. I just bought this stupid phone from a "friend" 3 months ago, and i really cant afford to get another one. I, in the mean time, am stuck using my daughters old phone that looks like a spider decided to hide behind the screen and make a home for itself. Please HELP!!!!

This is a forum for galaxy y
but if your phone doesn't boot
Find the stock rom for your phone
Connect your phone to pc
Enter download mode (on galaxy y it's hold volume down home button & power button)
start odin on pc - see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738841
Place the stock rom tar files in correct place and flash
