[Q] ClockWork Recovery for G3 - Galaxy 3 General

Hi,

G3MOD 1.7 , Kyrillos ROM or like CM 6.2 or CM 7 has
I need use Fugumod 1366 kernel what has no ClockWork Recovery inside and I need use it only at XXJPS rooted and deodexed or stock ROM.
any Idea how to get there ClockWork Recovery and if possible 4.0.0.5 or newer version
I need ClockWork Recovery able create/wipe/format ext4 and swap partition
thanks for advance
regards to all
Radek

Use a G3MOD. And to my knowledge, it doesn't work properly with ext2/4?

I didn't notice any development related activity in your entire post! !

I am not satisfied with G3 Ultimate. Fugumod 1366 looks much stable at 1366 Mhz 12+ hours stable like G3MOD at 1200 only.I tested G3MOD 1.7 extreme at 1300/1400 , it crashed within 5 mins max
This is why I do not want G3MOD.
Anyway I alraedy ported clockwork to ma phone, but I have no idea how to delete my post :-(

f9 woking g3mod with ext2
no works f9 with ext2 bt only prob is not working cangers like bootn font but this prob persists for every file system type

[Q] SetCPU Wont go past 528 : HTC Wildfire

I installed the Wildpuzzle v8 ... and then i installed SetCPU from this forum ... and i am not able to set the max past 528mhz ... i thought it must be something wrong with the custom rom .. ive even tried cynogenmod bt no luck there either ...
I believe its something to do with installing a custom kernel ... but i have no clue how to work with that ... If any one can please help me with that ... I am new to the android world ... and i want to overclock my wildfire ...
Thanks in advance ... tc
If you are using WildPuzzle, flash the overclockable kernel. (The file name starts with 0130 under kernels).
Once you flash it, OC'ing is enabled, and you will be able to OC till 768 Mhz.
Flashing a kernel is the same as flashing a Custom ROM. Reboot into Recovery > Install Zip from SDC, Select the Kernel ZIP. Remember to take a nandroid backup beforehand though.
Good Luck
Install the Jacob's kernal.
Just flash it like ROM thru the recovery without flashing. I recommend a nandroid backup first in case something goes wrong.
Dont forget to hit the thanks button if it was helpful to you.

Don't flash that package, it's just a speed setting. First, you need to flash this
http://rom.tat.tw/wildfire/wildpuzzlerom/2.2/patches/0130_kernel_overclock_jacob_2.6.32_v1.zip
(3rd kernel of KERNELS title in Wildpuzzle 0.8 post)

Flash it over the ROM, without wiping or reflashing the rom. Just flash it without doing nothing before or afterm and reboot.

This one:
0130_kernel_overclock_jacob_2.6.32_v1.zip
0159 will also do (You will STILL need to flash 0130 before that). It will preset the CPU Speed to 691. Personally, I prefer flashing the OC'ed kernel, and, setting my own speeds and profiles through SetCPU. But, it is upto you.
Flashing a faster predefined speed than the default 528mhz, I prefer 652mhz file, helps with the booting process complete smoother.. less waiting time to load up desktop. That's what I find anyway... used to wait ages until setcpu kicks in.

if you use the 130 kernel with wildpuzzle, the wifi hotspot won't work, it will be visible but won't connect, if you flash 055 overclocking kernel from wildpuzzle 8.0.11 thread then wifi hotspot is all good
strongly reccomend HCDR Jacobs Kernel v4.1 its the bees knees haha
flash taht and your good to go
high - 691200
low - 25800

One more thing .. as i was told flashing the 0130 kernel would help me in setting up a predifine values through setCPU... after flashing the 0130 .. i still cudnt set my speed more than 528 ... then i flashd the predifnd 691mhz kernel ... nw atleast the setcpu widget shows my max 691 nd min 254 .... :/

130 works fine, and if anything got a slightly higher linpack score than 055 as i tested both, it just wouldn't work with wifi hotspot.
i have only ever used set cpu.
to flash 055 i restored nandroid backup i did before overclocking with 130 and then flashed 055.
Flashing CM7 nightly #19 would resolve issues. Also i didn't heard anyone complaining about this on CM7 thread. Please be sure to follow exactly the steps for installing CM7 including wipe and format /system.
CM7 #19 is OC'able by defaul, u only have to install SETcpu.
#19 is pretty stable.

[Q] POLL: What ROM do you use for the Apollo?

Hi folks,
Seems I'm having some troubles running and finding a good mod for my Apollo 5801.
I use Kyrillos 7, but seems my phone is hanging all the time when it reboots.
Could you please tell me
- what ROM do you use
- what version?
- what are the pro?
- what are the con? (what functions do NOT work?)
- how is speed?
- how is memory management?
Sorry to waste one reply...but this is not related to development, and should be asked in the general question....

ok, but it would be nice to see what mod is most succesfull, right?
kyrillos is good for me so far~
Im using stock jpd overclocked to 1400mhz with g3mod extreme and rooted. Its very quick
sent from rooted samsung gt-i5800 froyo
Kyrillos is most popular. I'm usiong v7.0. Try flashing a different kernel such as G3Mod Ultimate v1.5.
Your phone may not like the fugumod kernel for some reason so flash G3 mod since its one of the most popular and your phone should run smoother.
Im using Kyrillos rom v7 with G3 Mod 1.5.1 Ultimate kernel. It working like a charm, smooth like womans legs and fast like a rocket.

I' m using kyrillos' s rom 7.0 with g3mod Ultimate 1.5.1 kernel and supercharger v6 script.
i haven' t lag and the phone is ultra fluid
Where can i get the supercharger script plz

1. Which g3mod1.5.2 i shud go for?? extreme/ultimate/battery performance. etc..
2. is it essential to do setcpu after flashing kernel? cant i use normally just after flashing?

First, flash Kyrillos ROM, then do a partition with CWM (if You want), then flash a kernel.

I would suggest, since you are already running 7.0, check the link Kyrillos ROM v7.1 and update your ROM to v7.1 (its so much better, though optional), post that Flash G3Mod v 1.6 Kernel.
Then using Set CPU you can OC more than 800 Mhz.
Note : Dont forget to read the instructions carefully for Kyrillos 7.1 ROM, G3Mod Kernel and SetCPU.....remember, you do all this at your own risk..check my signature for my stats...

Go to 7.1 link given above, and save the file in your SD Card and rename it as update.zip
Then from CWM recovery, install it and you would have 7.1 (read the link, you got to have 7.0 installed to install 7.1, which u already have)
2ndly as far as OC goes, no one would want to have their cell die..my question is Do you guarantee that OC at 800 Mhz will not make ur phone dead? (just a food for thought, dont make this bug you )
What i normally do is, using SetCPU i OC only while playing game..i normally keep it as 600-1200 MHz, on demand.....after I am done...i set it back to 200-800 Mhz on demand...and I normally play for a couple of hours at stretch...nothing has happened to my phone so far...but at the same time, I know when you run at max speed, you are bound to tire early....decide what you want more

thx for this help !
I'm looking forward to do this update (didn't know it was possible with that zip)
Some Q:
- Will it keep all installs, settings and apps as they are now? (I have K7.0-OC)
- I have G3-1.7 (looking forward to the battery fix), won't it harm this kernel or will of flash the fugumod again? (and do I need to reflash afterwards?)
- I have ext4 with many installs, won't it be damaged after updating?
- I don't have a swap, is it needed? Does it make a difference? (in the g3mod app I've set all to ext4, does this move the swap to ext4? It's 500Mb and half used by now...)
I wouldn't want to ruïn my system now, since it's finally running (not always smooth, dough...)
I suggest using fugumod ultra as that has an OCed bus so games wont lagg.

If its not running smooth, why do you worry about not ruining it, you can try various things on the forum, and you will have finally known, what to keep and what not to!

Dont worry about the quadrant score, its misleading.
You can get a higher quadrant score by some tweaks, but more importantly.
See if your phone is more responsive, much faster, no lags, no freezes. If it is there, quadrant doesnt matter.

Brother, it does not ask for wiping, you have to do it manually...Also Supercharger doesnt work for me however lagfix does, but again I would say more than quadrant score, you should be concerned about the performance of the phone and responsiveness.

hi
1. read carefully on how to use Odin
2. it is always advisable to do a factory/Data wipe and wipe delvi cache and then flash the ROM via odin and if u want to go back to the stock rom dont worry just look in the rollup thread and u will see some links with stock rom with out boot loader for u to flash
good luck and be care full read carefully before attempting to flash
Like it has been said before, it´s ok.
Just remember to follow the guide and you´ll be just fine.
I recommend to flash the Kyrillos Rom 9.2 with G3Mod 2.2.2 noc oc.
Hit thanks if it helped you anyway.
Best of luck
Thanks alot harree.
Also what about the Overclock thingy? and one more question i read in one of the threads that a bettery stats wipe should be done after installing the rom. Well i searched around and i couldn't find a thread on how to do that. I would appreciate if someone can help with that.
@iam_dragonmaster, how can i install the g3mod 2.2.2 non oc (i figure this is a kernal? how can i install a kernal when installing the rom?) with kyrillos rom? besides i can only install kyrillos 9.0 i think then have to use the update.zip thingy to update.

Boot into recovery using the extended boot menu and apply the update for kyrillos 9.2 by selecting zip from SD card and of course you need to put the update in your SD card. You can download g3mod kernel and flash it via Odin one package and it does not wipe your data . Also you can download the battery calibration app from the market and install it and follow the instructions. For me i use Zeppelinroxs die hard battery calibrator script. Can be found with the beta/test releases of v6 supercharger.

Non-oc kernel on Oc rom

Hi I recently downloaded kyararom 5.0 Oc version.I actually do not like to mess up with the cpu settings. The thing I wanted to know is that if I flash it with g3mod 2.2 non-oc over it would it function as an non-oc rom or I have to download the non-oc version of kyararom 5.0 and one more question is it necessary to partion my sd card if I install this rom.
Any help on this would be highly appreciated .
Thanks in advance

There is nothing like OC-ROM.........
There is only a thing called OC-Kernel.....
The ROM is called OC version because it uses an OC-kernel.....if you use a non-OC kernel on that then it'll be a non-OC ROM dats it....
Flash any kernel if you want...there is no problem....

Thanks in advance

you can flash non-oc kernel over Kyorarom and it will be non-oc...partitioning sdcard is optional..if you don't you'll have around 95mb internal free...if you do you'll have around 152mb free on internal...
btw: you could ask in Kyorarom threads....and not opening a new thread

There is nothing like OC-ROM.........
There is only a thing called OC-Kernel.....
The ROM is called OC version because it uses an OC-kernel.....if you use a non-OC kernel on that then it'll be a non-OC ROM dats it....
Flash any kernel if you want...there is no problem....
