I have had no such problems.
Try reflashing it again, because my gps works fine, just takes a bit longer to load, or what exactly is happening to it?
SENT VIA HAMSTERBALL
Mine works better than it did before Froyo
Reflashing the radio fixed my GPS issue. Thanks guys.
My GPS has stopped working again. It worked the first day after reflashing the Froyo radio but now, days later, is unable to lock on again. Ideas?

My GPS won't lock on either, I'm using pastorbennet's custom Froyo, didn't flash anything from the imnuts thread since I didn't know what to do with the modem file
Mine works though it seems slower to lock, but that's probably an issue of small sample size

GPS not locking after flashing EC07 either. God I hate this phone.
Edit: GPS intermittently works.
GPS on Froyo is so spotty that I might go back to DL17. GPS is that important to me.
Sent from my Continuum on stock Froyo 2.2.2.
Had no problems with GPS on E03 for me. I wonder if you got a program that intensifies GPS if that would help? Something like "Gps status"

try this, worked for me.

Damn Samsung! ! !
Exactly 24 hours after I flashed the latest modem and rom, the infamous gps bug is back in full force. Don't see any satellites, no lock, no nothing. I knew that this was too good to be true...

I never had a GPS bug until just recently. It worked great from factory, it worked great after I flashed the first froyo leak from firon (w/o a modem update). As part of updating to the latest froyo leaks, I flashed the modem using the guide to flash using odin/PDA setting with a pit and a tar. Now my GPS is hosed entirely
Others suggested flashing the modem.bin instead of PIT/TAR combo using the phone slot in odin. I did that, which just got me a "Baseband Unknown" and no connectivity. Flashed back to DK17 via PIT/TAR and I'm back up and running, but without GPS still.
I'd be interested if anyone has any thoughts on whether they think flashing the .bin should actually help or not; and further, why I get baseband unknown when I do flash the bin.
Thanks
Gps worked much better than under Di18, so looks like they fixed this problem, but for me, the damn cache bug still remains.

I have sign familiar issues on mine.there was a thread that many slammed as bs but it worked for me when I tried the first froyo tom and had the same issue. Odin back to stock and get a lock. I did in gps status and google maps. Then up to froyo. I just put viper rom on mine and am having the same issues and will be doing this soon.
Hope it helps

And there will be more and more until Samsung gets their **** together. As for you, no one is forcing you to read this crap.

We should start titiling gps threads with a [GPS] tag. That way I can tell from the outside which "bug is back"

Maybe that's why it's not on official release yet?
What I'm most curious about is the GPS, since Samsung did design the phone does it have the same issues with GPS as the Galaxy S does..
I know we probably won't know until next week, but still curious.

I am pretty damn sure that the issue has been resolved, i mean it would be absolutely stupid if they didnt
I'd hope so, but then again. The original I9000 Galaxy S phone shipped with broken GPS and then when they came to the US, they had broken GPS...
But in the end, software tweaks fixed most of the GPS issues if you had a rooted phone.
Yea my vibrant GPS is fine now but when on jfd firmware GPS and compass were faulty but was only software related.
But even now with everything working I noticed that my GPS and phone antenna interfere cuz putting my phone in flightmode makes GPS much more accurate so I'm thinking this s why they replaced the antennas.
But yea GPS should be fine on NS
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
The GPS chip in the NS is different from the SGS series. It'll work just fine.
Acording to FCC they changed the antenna

Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yes they changed the antenna. The Vibrant's GPS works anywhere, hard-ware wise. It was just some of the software builds that it didn't work on.
I just read a review that stated gps worked "flawlessly"

Engadget did a review but stupidly did not test the GPS. What a shame review.

Il do some searching and try to find it. I don't think it talked about the gps it just had a little headline in the middle that said wifi and gps work flawlessly.

So I don't know if I am the only one, or if there is something wrong with what I did but after relocking my xoom, rooting using this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1078019 . Then flashing the Newest Titamat kernel through CWM, I have a non-functional GPS. Even outside on a clear day my xoom only sees 3 sats max, not using a single one. PLEASE HELP!! My GPS used to lock in seconds inside to 11 sats.
So I think I just need to push the correct GPS module. Anyone got it?
Really??? No one is willing to help???

Got the same issue need help too
So I re flashed the newest titamat 1.6 and it fixed it, I think it was just a bad flash.

Hi everyone. I upgraded my sgs from jg4 to jvp but now my gps seems insatiable of getting a lock. It can see 6-9 says after about 30s, but it rarely gets a position.
The old gps was terrible because it dropped the lock but at least it used to give a reference fairly regularly.
Anyone else seen this?
I'm running jvp with speedmod's kernel.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Bloody auto correct.
Unable to get a lock, and can see 6-9 satellites
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Use GPS Aids app to improve your GPS lock.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA Premium App
start by going into cwm recovery and making advanced/fix permissions
first lock always take a bit longer to make
jvp gps is best one presented so far (aside few carier 2.3.3 versions) so you should not have any problem with it
such apps as mentioned are unsafe imho
Thx man, this solved my issues. Now I have a fix in about 10-15 seconds, before I was only sometimes able to get one in 2-3 minutes!
@spenceee: Like I said I was doing that what $omator wrote, then I was going into gps aids and changed the ntp server under settings for my region.
your gps should work best with your regional modem, so replace your modem with suitable modem
ntp server change got no major impact on fix
Same as changing modem. JVP modem is ok

Anyone else noticed this?
On two newest radios GPS locks instantly, works perfect for 5 minutes and then drops. Toggle GPS off/on real quick and it comes back and then works perfectly.
I've tried the two newest radios, fastboot wipes, and still get the same symptoms on two different glaciers.
Does anyone else have the same symptoms?

I do too on CM7. Happened last night. Instant lock. Stops working after 30 sec. Exit Nav. Go back. Works perfect.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I haven't tried GPS yet since I flashed CM7, but I'll test it tonight. This probably goes without saying, but you all verified the radio's MD5 before flash, right?
I havent used CM7 in a long while, but I have also noticed this problem in MIUI on a couple builds. turn on GPS and run Navigation app, locks on fast and works well. but after about an hour or so, GPS signal would drop and I would have to exit from Navigation and turn GPS off then on again then run Navigation. about 5-10 minutes later, it would lose signal again and I would have to repeat the process. even after wiping cache + dalvik and fixing permissions, the problem would still continue. it doesnt bother me all too much because I rarely use GPS...I think TDJ said it was an issue with the Navigation app itself, not sure tho
GPS Status & Toolbox can help your GPS lock faster, and might help it maintain connection better. Worth a shot.
Tried all of it. Multiple downloads, multiple fastboot flashes, multiple fastboot wipes, I use GPS status all the time, etc. I've tried all of it.
The stock radio from 2.2.1 seems to work fine, but lately takes awhile to lock.
Oh, and this is the same on multiple glaciers.

I had this exact same problem while running MIUI. Now I've switched to CM7, but so far GPS has worked fine for me since.

Yeah, good everything. It bugs so much. And as I thought more it did happen to me on CM7 just couple days ago. I recently moved to LA so GPS is KEY. I was yelling at my phone each 5 minutes when it would lose GPS. Then I would have to close it and re open then manually input the directions again all while avoiding the dreaded Los Angeles traffic... I wanted to throw this phone so bad. But since I fully wiped and reflashed CM7. Tried GPS once and it worked fine and didn't cut off for 20 minutes so I'm hoping it's fixed.
And I always perform fastboot wipes as well for what it's worth.

I'm on cm7 nightly 175 and noticed constant drops too when using google navigation. Had to exit and restart navigation to get fix again.
Started playing around with other GPS programs, igo and sygics, and never had GPS signal loss!
I think it might be related to google navigation and not the actually GPS signal or kernel/ROM themselves. That would explain why we get GPS signal lock again once we restart navigation.

Yup, same here, lol. Let's keep in touch on these issues.
Pretty sure 26.03.02.26 didn't do this, try rolling back to that.
And don't exit navigation, just use the notification power widget to toggle GPS real quick.
Works for me.

I too have the same issue. Tried every RADIO. All of them didn't solve the issue. Toggling GPS on/off seems to temporarily solve the problem. None of the GPS status or editing "gps.config" seem to have an effect.
just tried CM7 nightly 175 with stock radio, ran gps for about half an hour and didnt have any issues. locked in around 5 seconds, no lost signal or anything. seeming as if GPS is really hit or miss wonder if this occurs on stock rom and kernel?

The problem is not getting an initial lock. It is actually losing the lock around three to five minutes into navigation.
