Gallery on 2.1

Since updating to 2.1 i can only view piccltures i took before the update in the gallery. My latest pictures only show through by going through the new camera app in 2.1.
Any ideas

Have you cleared your Dalvik-cache since updating? Give that a try if you haven't already.

Just checked, and i'm seeing picture from after! But then then i'm still using the beta, and won't be installing the official anytime soon. Only extant issue is GPS acqusition appears slow (but then I only ever really check when i'm indoors )

8023 had very slow gps. The previous version (i forget the build number but I think it began with 7) was better. 8105 is better for gps but not as good a the 7xxx build.
I guess its a power saving change

Sims 3 on froyo wont install?

So ive got froyo 2.2 and I downloaded the sims3 for android but ite wont install.. anyone know why and how I can play? Do I need any1 emulators?
Also does anyone else experience device not responding to touch and inactivity of soft keys every know and then till battery is removed?

I think the community may need more specifics from your SIMs 3 issue. I for one watch my wife use it quite a bit on her froyo'ed streak daily. Did yours installed entirely from Market?
And not really on the soft keys mine are good and have been good.

YEA, did that it just wouldnt install. Then I dlded 2 others on the net and one has the same error - doesnt open while the other says something about parsing!
Another thing ive noticed recently is my streak automatically restarts in the middle if im using FB or anything else. Using the Stage UI also causes weather, fb and system to force close :S
I have the AVG pro isntalled.. Doesnt seem to be any good!

Nope.. Apparently I'm a noob at this! Do my contacts and apps get cleaned off with a factory reset?
Will try that now.. My phones giving me lots of problems now can't even use fb with out it force closing 19 times.

345 or 1.8.1 what's better

Ok all input is needed.....do gameloft games actually work right on 345 I'm on 1.8.1 and they all crash. Plus I get a bunch of reboots

Why not just try them both and see which works better for you? There are pros and cons for each that really depend on your personal setup and useage

I was unable to come up with a stable configuration using 1.81 and various install.txt's as I always ended up with reboots after a few days so I would recommend 345 over that. ( If anyone has a solid config please let me know )
That said, I am sticking with 318 and the tweak patch as I personally didn't notice a difference between 345 and 318 aside from the Stage UI which I don't use anyway.

I just did this.
Go to the wiki for the dell streak (at the top) and get the following for the 345 build:
Recovery (You will need this flashed with fastboot onto you streak)
PKG (This will need to be on the root of your SD card named update.pkg)
DSP (You need to flash this for video after you install the PKG)
1) Copy the PKG to the root of your SD card
2) Flash the recovery image
3) Reboot your phone holding down the up and down volume and install the new rom
4) wait for reboot
5) Flash the DSP file

Gonna try 1.9 first see how that goes ill let u know when i do that

I think that the choice now is 345 or streakdroid 1.9.0.
I am testing 1.9.0 right now. It is based on the latest official roms so it is Android 2.2.2. I have tested and you can make nandroid backups from 1.9.0 (does not hang at backing up firstboot)

240 is huge I like smaller like 140 or 120

I'm running 1.9.0 and everything works fine including gameloft....
I used this option....
volnoppt - flashes a kernel without the new kgsl(3d) per page table support AND VOLUME BOOST - fixes some gameloft games
Everything i've tried just works....and damned quick too!

I updated to 1.9.0 and now some market apps don't appear. anyone else have this issue?

What about appbrain ?

So all the games play and u can see all the colors in the games? The golf game I still cant see the characters and in modern combat 2 I cant get any of the game data to download. So what did u do about this

So over my issues with no real help

Ok im on dj steve 1.9 and im annoyed....every game freezes my phone I gotta pull the battery and restart. My phone even has a mind of its own it likes to just randomly restart. And sometimes I have to wait like 30 min before I can even got yet my phone to start. Im upset that this big ass screen does nothing cause I cant get anything to work right.......grrrrr....im frustrated about this.....I did a factory reboot flashed steves rom with clockwork...please help me idk what Im doing our did wrong....

you can try that and see if it works... However u have to use the nandroid backup posted. There is no update.pkg file .
Equally good is 340 . Good thing is that it has update.pkg and update.zip file available for download
Each phone seems to work better on a different rom.

you have download the files from 347 thread.
then flash them with adb.

On Steve's 1.9 I keep on running into the issue of all of my essential apps force closing. Such as android.process.core and Messaging, and Calendar storage, and essentially, I feel locked out of my phone because any action I take results in 2+ force closes of apps that close off and come back.
I wiped the Cache initially, and that had no avail.
I used the ClockworkMod cache wipe, and now I'm testing out a straight up factory reset will work.
I'm using the Factory Reset option provided when you get to the initial Clockwork screen "Directly after holding volume and power buttons, but before running Clockwork itself"

That's not going to help you. Factory reset is broken on 1.9 go back to 1.5.1 first to get factory reset working.

Everything keeps foreclosing!

Hi guys i've been noticing since last night that my home screen keeps foreclosing on me and whenever a message comes in it comes in slow. At first I thought it was my launcherpro acting so I decided to go back using the stock launcher but then the foreclosings kept occurring and even when opening Apps it would seem slow to open them. Can anyone help or tell me how to fix this? Thanks

Whenever i get forces closes i usually solve it by clearing the data in the app manager or uninstalling and reinstalling.
Are you using a stock rom?

Are you using stock ROM or custom?
Try reflashing the custom ROM if you are. Remember to wipe data / cache / dalvik. This usually solves most problem

Ive had launcher pro for about 2 months and it would fore close once in a while but nothing too bad. I uninstalled the app and it then the stock launcher started foreclosing on me

I think one of the system file is messed up. I'm not sure though. Maybe you can try to unroot it and flash a stock rom (or hell, just go with a custom rom) to see if it's fixed.

I ended up doing a factory reset on my phone and everything is back to normal thanks for the help guys
