Dell streak backup and restore app hits android market, exclusively for streak

Its just on the market, search for it... Froyo is very near I think!
If it isn't working the first time ( invalid backup), reboot your phone... Try it again and it will work.

got my streak a week ago, found dell backup in market a few days ago
+2 for froyo release.. I would bet it will be release on the 11th.

I'm confused. Two questions.
1. What makes this program a good sign for Froyo's release?
2. What is different about this from the PC suite that I use with 1.6 and came standard with the Streak for backing up the program?

1) it was on Tweeter and on Facebook (dell uk) stating that prior to receiving Froyo, backup using this app.
2) no difference, backs up the same stuff but the difference lies in the fact that this way, you don't need a pc to restore your settings.

Just got it. Installed fine. Dell restore app worked great. Am I imagining it or is the resolution on 2.2 better than 2.1. Mine just appears easier on the eye

What baseband are you guys on? Im on 421-eu stock 1.6 and im seeing nothing, even when i check for updates manually it says im up to date....

works perfect smooth...good job dell!

Everything went well here too, didn't lose any apps so didn't have to use restore, even ADW still works (used stage for about 10 seconds before thinking yuck! and switching). Quite a few updates to go through on the market.

Hopes crushed.
Front camera works in camera app, but not in Fring.
Tango uses the main camera so you get a nice picture of the wall, but it does work!

Gameloft games keep locking up my streak

I'm on new 1.8 rom and all my games from gameloft keep freezing my phone help please

What options did you use in your install.txt?

Go back and look at the install instructions for 1.8. There are options you can use to get gameloft games working.
Dell Streak powered by Streakdroid 1.8.1

add this to install.txt
volnoppt
then flash 1.8.1
should work fine (does on mine anyway!)

I did add that and it helped with some games but my homerun 3d keeps locking up the phone also. What should I do?

So over my issues with no real help

Ok im on dj steve 1.9 and im annoyed....every game freezes my phone I gotta pull the battery and restart. My phone even has a mind of its own it likes to just randomly restart. And sometimes I have to wait like 30 min before I can even got yet my phone to start. Im upset that this big ass screen does nothing cause I cant get anything to work right.......grrrrr....im frustrated about this.....I did a factory reboot flashed steves rom with clockwork...please help me idk what Im doing our did wrong....

you can try that and see if it works... However u have to use the nandroid backup posted. There is no update.pkg file .
Equally good is 340 . Good thing is that it has update.pkg and update.zip file available for download
Each phone seems to work better on a different rom.

On Steve's 1.9 I keep on running into the issue of all of my essential apps force closing. Such as android.process.core and Messaging, and Calendar storage, and essentially, I feel locked out of my phone because any action I take results in 2+ force closes of apps that close off and come back.
I wiped the Cache initially, and that had no avail.
I used the ClockworkMod cache wipe, and now I'm testing out a straight up factory reset will work.
I'm using the Factory Reset option provided when you get to the initial Clockwork screen "Directly after holding volume and power buttons, but before running Clockwork itself"

That's not going to help you. Factory reset is broken on 1.9 go back to 1.5.1 first to get factory reset working.

Netflix latest update

I just downloaded netflix update from today and it works with no chipmunk effect!!!!

Are you on a stock rom?

I just installed, no stock rom and it's working flawlessly, my dell just got that much better

I can't find netflix in the market? I have the latest version installed already, not that it works or anything.

Edit: Hurray! I can vouch that I can now get Netflix on my Dell Streak !!
Sound is normal, movie plays smoothly !
I am on stock Froyo 2.2 with Rogers, unlocked and using Telus SIM.
Finally a worthy use for my 6gb data plan !

Now this is why we all believed in the streak!!!! Is this not the best android device around now? Its the best of both worlds (tablet and smartphone). Netflix looks awesome on the 5 in screen!!!

Or you could get it from the thread here at XDA that was started about four hours before this thread. It's in the Themes and Apps area.

works great without chipmunk sound and without shifted color.. changed my build.prop file back to Dell Streak, Dell Inc since you no longer need to root/edit the build.prop file

Stock Streak 5 NetFlix now working
I have a factory-unlocked, unrooted Froyo Streak..... Last month, I had side-loaded the NetFlix app (version 1.2.something), and it would take me to NetFlix & I could log in, but would not play any videos (player screen would go black for a second then it would immediately take me back to the NetFlix search screen). Yesterday, I finally uninstalled that version and installed the newer version from XDA (version 1.3.x I think it is), and BOOM.... it's working like buttah! Thanks all!!
