Just did the update. It says "Improve stability and bug fixes". Not sure what was fixed. So far so good.
Vesion info:
Android Verion: 3.1
Build number: P7510UEKME
Just updated myself. Does anyone know what was "fixed"
Were either of you two rooted? After I pulled the update, my Tab just stayed on a black screen and wouldn't boot at all.
I'm flashing a backup in CWM right now.
Nothing
Stock here, no updates available for me.
yep, i just got it too, i was on stock touchwiz, asked for update, nothing, then asked again and it was there.
Hhhhmmm..... no updates for me yet.
Fully stock here. Update applied, no issues.

http://www.droid-life.com/2011/08/1...i-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-is-not-android-3-2/
Droid Life article says it is a minor bug fix.
Same thing for me, checked for update...nothing, went back 5 minutes later and there it was.

No root for me stock touchwiz. Applied the update and no problems so far.
My wifi 10.1 updated this morning. No changes noticed. Although a few widgets were removed from my desktop. I tweet @GalaxySsupport to ask for a changelog. No response yet.
No update for my UK device - what country have the updates appeared in?
Nothing showing for me either (UK).
I am on StarBurst.8.8.UEKMB with Pershoots 2.6.36.4 kernel from 8/19 (WIFI, VA in US, Rooted, CWM) and can pull down the update. I am not going to install it until I hear it is good for rooted users though.
According to Android Police ...
http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...ilable-for-the-samsung-galaxy-tab-10-1-wi-fi/
Samsung just started pushing a small, 3.22MB update to the Wi-Fi Galaxy Tab 10.1, most likely to address bugs that were introduced with TouchWiz UX. It's unclear exactly what the update fixes, only that it "improves stability."
I must warn you, though -- I accepted the download on my rooted Tab 10.1 with ClockworkMod recovery, and after the installation was complete, the screen went black (but remained on) and nothing else happened. After waiting for several minutes, I rebooted, only for the same thing to happen again. I was still able to get into ClockworkMod to flash a recent backup, but it was scary nonetheless. If you're rooted and plan to pull this update, then I encourage you to tread carefully.
To see if the update is available to you, head into Settings > About Tablet > Software Update.

Seems as if all of these minor bug fixing updates are looking to kill rooted devices.

But I have no idea what the update did! Popped up with a message saying "System update available"
20mb roughly to download. Kernal version says "2.6.36.3"
Build number is Acer_A500_1.139.04_COM_GEN1
So far I don't see any changes at all - it's still on 3.0.1
Anyone know what the update was for?
I found built in exchange support and a new scrollable agenda widget
Are you rooted? If so any issues ? thanks !
I was rooted.
Before the update would work I had to unroot as well as revert a few things.
as root I added cifs.ko, googlebooks.apk and the asus transformer email.apk and emailwidget.apk
not sure which of the above allowed me to update because i reverted them all at once.
I haven't tried re-rooting just yet.
Yeah I think I'm going to wait until there's some more info on this one. I would rather not risk root.
I didnt unroot and didnt need to - update went fine then rerooted with gingerbreak. Havent found any differences yet except the you tube widget seems to have shrunk.
Edit: reloading the you tube apk in the app folder seems to have brought it back to the original size.
I can't complete the update. It downloads fine but during the actual update in recovery, I get the exclamation and triangle icon.
I've tried unrooting - no difference.

Might give it a go then
Edit : couldn't update, I think it is because I removed a lot of the bloatware. Maybe I'll have to find the apks and add them again.

Already download the update. Need more confirmation to proceed.
1. Ability to re-root the device.
2. If cifs works, or need copy cifs.ko again.
3. If need to copy Eee email.apk again, and if the configuration will be lost.

Southwestern US, actually just across the border in Mexico. My tab and I are both American though. No update here either, but as noone has noticed any glaring improvements and there is no changelog, I'm in no rush to get the update. At least we know Acer is at work doing something. I'm hoping it fixes the screen coming out of standby at random as well as a few other minor issues.

I am getting tired of waiting for the stock 3.1 rom now so I am starting to think about using one of the custom roms.
Have there been any performance and function comparisons between the stock rom and the custom roms?
Or do you have any good arguments either way?
The two most popular appear to be Virtuous Picasso and Virtuous Galaxy. I have been using the 1.08 version of the former for sometime and have had no issues. I thether, have gps, bluetooth, WiFi all w/out issue. If your rooted, get wild and flash them both; see which you Luke better.
I like virtuous galaxy for the the touchwiz, but there were too many broken things. Exchange didn't work, couldn't access files on my external sd card (although apps like google music seemed to be able to) and my usb keyboard didn't work. Virtuous galaxy seems to work without any issues.
I've tried them all so far, and they all have pro's and con's. They also all have bugs, which is only to be expected.
Currently, I'm running stock and, to be honest, kinda prefer it. Though I *have* rooted and added a few tweaks...

I don't mean to speak for willy but I think what he was saying is that at first, Virtuous Galaxy was nice but had too many broken features but after the release this past weekend, most of the bugs are fixed.
I am using Primee which is the Asus Transformer ROM with some of the Acer items left intact. I have tried Virtuous Galaxy and UI is beautiful but I was getting a barely perceptible lag opening and closing the app drawer even after OC to 1500 and it was bugging me. I think the problem could have been one of the Samsung widgets.
I normally recommend loading a custom rom if you feel comfortable. I rooted my HTC Magic back in the early days of Android and have never looked back.

You should go for 3.1 stock (official acer update), works like butter and fixes problems that custom roms still have (like cell stanby) unless they are based on 3.1 stock (I'm still waiting )
Update to 3.1 stock Acer Official Update
No wipe needed or acer recovery/cwm, you don't lose your data, but it's highly recommended to backup and use recovery/cwm, through again not necesary.
Here is a change log (what's new/changed) to see if it's worth, if you do update please share with me in that thread what's new and changed so we can inform, share and encourage pleople to update to 3.1, plus if you do it now you get new OTA Acer_ A500_4.010.30_COM_GEN1 (I sound like a salesman ) who knows for how long they will keep the update

How do you procede to go from EMEA_GEN3 to COM_GEN1?
My machine is COM_GEN1 so I'm happy. My sister who got hers in Denmark is EMEA_GEN3 and is still stuck with firmware 1.x (Android 3.0.1)... Is there a step-by-step instructions for going to COM_GEN1 for her machine?
I suspect I can then download the latest firmware manually from : code.google.com/p/acer-a500/downloads/list or use OTA like my machine?
Thanks,
Gilles.

I too went from EMEA_GEN3 to COM_GEN1. Here is the basic low-down as to how I went about it:
* Install Acer Recovery from Market and use it to install clockworkmod.
* Download the COM_GEN1 ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1176632 thread.
* Use Acer ROM Decrypter to decrypt the .zip file and extract the update.zip from there.
* Rename the update.zip to something like e.g. AcerROMcomgen1.zip and copy it on your SD card. It's important that it is on the SD, not internal storage.
* Turn off your tablet, then turn it on while keeping the volume button pressed down until you see white text appear on the tablet screen's top-left corner.
* Use clockwordmod to first make a full backup for just-in-case. I really mean it: do a full backup. You never know if you might need it later!
* Then format cache, format data/factory reset, then install zip from SD.
* Reboot.
As for navigating in clockwordmod: you use the volume button to go up or down in menus, and power button to select the menu item.
Not sure what it is but a couple of people on the Verizon Site say they are being pushed a update
Even though it say's ed05 on the PDF
It is EH03
Here is the updated PDF from Verizon.
That PDF is ED05 and not the update I just downloaded and applied.
Firmware version
2.3.5
Baseband version
S:i500.04 V.EH03
Kernel version
2.6.35.7
Build number
SCH-I500.EH03
I just opened it and is definitely EH03, you have to refresh the page if you have opened the pdf page from Verizon's site recently to make it show the correct page.
Here ya go: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20768745/samsung_fascinate.pdf
good to know...was gonna be a tad irritated if it wasnt eh03 lol
First problem i have encountered is my picture share to bluetooth and then send to my computer keeps failing. I guess I will be doing a factory reset sooner than i had originally planned.
I have tried removing the device from the bluetooth list, but it seems i can't find delete anymore.
I have removed the phone from the computer, added it again, and still can't share pictures over the bluetooth. I will try a few other things later on after work.
Waiting to see how my battery life will be after streaming bluetooth music another 4 hours of my work day.
sd card encryption
Has anyone seen that the new GB update is supposed to contain SD card encryption? I have been waiting for that for the last year. Is it true and does it work?
I have the leaked eh03 package installed a few days ago on my phone, I was wondering if this OTA build is the same as the leaked one. Thanks!

So I rooted my wife's Fascinate and put CWM on it (no change in ROM other than root+recovery), and when I try to install this update it just boots to CWM. I figure it is trying to call a command to the original recovery which isn't there anymore.
Does anyone know how I can get this update under my strange configuration? This is probably the weirdest question ever, but can I flash the stock recovery back??

Have you managed to download it, and verify if you got ICS ?
I was chatting online with Samsung support about the availability of the download, and checked checkfusdownloader while I was online and founf the update - but the support person says it is not an ICS update. I hope they just don't know what they are talking about.

For those curious:
Build Number- IMM76D.UELPL
I must say, This thing runs soooooooooooo much better. It also feels a bit more cohesive with my SG3. I think I'll keep it stock for a while. Also, I notice I can uninstall the bloat they included with it originally now. Not just hide, but remove Amazon, Kindle, etc. crud that I don't think I could before. Would be nice to add smart stay, Allshare Play, and face unlock eventually. I'm a little spoiled with some of the things on my SG3.

No, i just installed the update via OTA. Did not wipe device, however you will lose your homescreens if you are using the native TouchWiz launcher.
Checked mine a few hours ago, got update available.
Did a reset for a clean update.
Now when I check, no update available.
Checked my wife's tab, same thing, not available.
Checked some other forums and some are also getting not available.
Could Samsung be staggering the update to keep the servers from getting overloaded?
I just checked for update on mine and no update is available.
Is anyone else getting "Your device is not compatible" with Chrome? What the hell? It's 4.0.4
edit:cleared market data and it's available
If you are not seeing the update try hooking up to Kies

Did anybody get an OTA update?
Is ICS coming OTA or via Kies? I live in Mass. and as of 11:30 a.m. on 8/13 my tab says there is no update available. I rather not have to bother with Kies, so I'll wait awhile longer.
^My update notification popped up as soon as I unlocked my Tab this morning.
I've been stuck on stock due to lots of ffc use, and thank Christ the keyboard lag is fixed. It's like a new tablet.
Any advantage to going from the UK version to the US version? I live in the US, but flashed the UK version a while back... is there even a difference?
Just my luck, android 4.0 for the tablet is released and suddenly kies stops working and won't recognize my tab, and i also get "No update available"
I plugged it into my computer and the update was available through Kies. Took about 30 minutes for the update to complete, and so far I am liking it.
I have the US GT-P7510 flashed with the ICS 4.0.4 UK version, is it possible to install the US ICS over the UK version using Odin, or do I have to rollback to HC 3.2 then flash this new ICS?
ok its official ICS IS HERE, i was using custom roms but then decide to go to stock i was using ROM HTJ85B.UEKMP i try to use the update from within the tablet but did not work as soon as i connected the tablet to kies bam updating and now its official ICS is here, after the update everything just ran by itself no need to clear nothing. pass the word around and if anyone has the ability to actual rip the whole rom off please do so cause i know for many kies does not work. it was a long wait but its here
I gave up on the OTA update as it has said no update available all morning. Currently connected to Kies and performing the upgrade. Crossing my fingers everything goes smoothly.

I downloaded the firmware from sammobile (4.1.2 was the only one available) then flashed with odin. Sammobile has the basic instructions. Then the 4.4.2 OTA update worked.
I haven't tried rooting yet. But i can save my google music downloads to SD and the glitchy touch screen appears to be fixed
Most of the crapware can also be deactivated running stock
Maybe we got lucky and they unlocked the bootloader; hopefully a developer will be interested enough to check.
I am on stock and still can't get the update. Are they doing this in stages?

Downloading Update Now
Nice surprise when i picked up my Note 8.0 today and the uodate manager started the download!! Will be nice if the "stutters" the note suffers from when typing is fixed (happened as i was typing this).
If anyone is interested I am 100% stock, never rooted, nothing flashed. Dont know if its natiowide rollout but I am im rural Ohio but thew device is a Alaska # & account.
As previously mentioned it would be AMAZING if the bootloader was unlocked but im not holding my breath. And even though i am VERY pleased the update is happening I still cant throw out any " good job AT&T" comments as this, OR ANY, update is BEYOND over due.
Will post thoughts once updated and taken for a spin.

I got my (previously) rooted Note to update simply by checking "Unroot Cleanup" (or a command similar to that) within the settings of SuperSU and then running the update.

Did you full unroot afterwards the check and then took the update?

After selecting the checkbox within SuperSU it popped up a warning saying, essentially, that it was going to remove root, close itself, and it suggested a reboot after that.
Once clicking OK it only took a few seconds to run and then returned to my homepage.
I rebooted, ran root check which confirmed I was not rooted, and then ran the AT&T update.
After 4 calls to ATT, a visit to Samsung Experience and a call to Samsung I am having to send mine into Samsung no one could get it to update.

Thanks for posting...have been waiting for this update for what seems like years.

NOTE 3 - ROOTED FUN!
I had to flash mine through Odin and then factory wipe, then it took the OTA. When I tried just unrooting it wouldn't and would fail
Tried using the full unroot option in superSU but it kept FC'ing. So I flashed stock firmware with odin. Update worked with no problems.
Does any of the bloatware effect updating? i was thinking maybe thats why some updates are failing after unrooting. Im probably wrong just taking a wild guess.
And PLEASE if anyone gets their note to root after updating to 4.4.2 post how it was done. Thank you in advance.

I couldn't find one. Even Sammobile only had the 4.1.2 firmware.
I have the AT&T SGH-i467, and I got the 4.4.2 update. Woke up to the popup to upgrade. My device was not rooted, stock from AT&T. After the update it would not boot completely. It would boot to the loading screen and flash to the "desktop" on occasion, then back to the loading screen. This would continue for as long as I would allow it, it would get pretty hot while doing this as well, draining the battery. I tried clearing the cache a few times with no luck. I had to factory reset it to get it to boot properly. All is well now. I have not yet experienced the usual screen lag either.
I too had to reload original stock ROM via Odin. The it went through without issue.
have tried to root using "known" methods but currently they all fail.
Hope someone comes thru with a root fix here.
Has anyone managed to locate a download link for this? I've unrooted, flashed back to stock via odin, etc. and cannot seem to get the update. I read somewhere that not having active at&t service on the device would prohibit it from pulling the ota update from at&t's server, which makes sense. However, if anyone has located a download link for this, I'd be grateful for it!

Try un-rooting and then pulling your sd card.
