[Q] DeoDexed Stock Froyo rom with HTC sense - Wildfire General

Hello,
i have a simple wuestion: How can i make my stock froyo os (it's odexed) to an stock froyo deodexed. Because i would like to make anything on the theme of it. Best is if it is an update or anything else where my data where don't delete. But post things where all delete, too.
I hope you cna help me
Thanks and Greetings

If you do not wish to install any of the available HTC Sense Froyo ROM's, your best option would be to cook one yourself using the DSIXDA Android Kitchen. Just load the Stock ROM, and, you can just de-odex it and flash it as a normal ROM.

And I dont think its possible to do this without losing data. Obviously, you can take a backup of apps using a backup app and restore it later.

thanks for the link. but sorry. It's my first custimation in this part. Rom and so on i know. But how i use the Android Kitchen?
There is no .exe or something else

Read the 3rd post completely and carefully. It can get a bit intimidating setting the kitchen up , but, it works fine.

How to install App2SD into a rooted original firmware?

Excute me, I've surveyed a lot of tutorial, but most of them told me to use customized firmware to enable the App2SD function.
I have a rooted original firmware with version 1.5.
I want to install App2SD into this phone.
Does anyone can teach me how to do it?
Thanks a lot~
Mod. edit: not dev related, moved to general
Thank jebus Apps2SD is built in to custom ROMs, because it is a PITA to get right. I've only ever got it working once out of over a dozen attempts.
There's a thread over in the G1 on how to do it. Honestly I don't understand why you don't install Cyanogen Mod which will bring you up to 2.1 and give you A2SD, but whatever...
I'm just worried about the stability, and I like HTC sense's contact which can sync with FaceBook.
But, maybe I should try it.
Thanks for your advice.

Adding FriendStream to a Custom ROM ?

Can anybody help me in adding Friendstream to a Custom ROM, which doesn't has FriendStream
can you not just find the App and add it after installing your Rom??
will not work!
Short answer: it's likely not going to be easy
A few days ago I found a detailed guide about porting HTC apps to non htc-ROMS. It was a ****load of work, but doable I guess. In the example he ported an htc app (music player?), by using nice constructions with opening and resigning apk's, pulling necessary parts of the htc.framework and more "mojo jojo".
Problem is: I really can't find the guide anymore, and I have been testing that search function for way to long....
So is there anybody that remembers where I am referring to perhaps?
I tried pushing the .apk's to /system/app/ I knew this wouldn't do, But still gave it a try
EDIT : Maybe a Dev would be able to help us out, Please Any Dev
It *could* work for a deodexed rom... so try asking your rom dev to deodex it and give it a try which rom are we talking about?

MCR r5, But I have tried pushing the .apk's but still it doesn't work, I have tried this on both deodex and odex ROM's.
Tried to add "FriendStream.apk" and "com.htc.FriendStreamWidget.apk"
to a custom ROM and sign the ROM again, but don`t works, too!

[Q] App2SD with original 2.1 ROM

Hey everybody,
I'm new to this forum and this is my very first post. What I wanted to ask is if it is somehow possible to enable App2Sd in the original stock ROM. I already rooted the phone but do not like the idea of flashing an recovery mod and afterwards an custom ROM. Also I googled a quite a lot and found some articles where some opinions like editing the "init.rc"-file were mentioned - but they didn't explained it any further. Another one said something like setting a symlink to the ext3-partioned sd card...
One of this articles is taken from this forum: Here
I would be really happy if somedbody could help me!
Thanks in advance!

I like this idea too. i've been tried a lot customized roms and finally stated at the h3g UK official rom. rooted using universalrooting tool, RA unlocked via the developers' kit method. ready to flash any zipped customized rom but still sunning on the official rom. keen to any idea of how to enable or even add an app2sd+ function on the official rom. Any idea would be welcome!
There are some apps on market that make it possible ....
Perdita2000
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
Which ones?
App2sd frontera market for example....
Sent from my Hero using XDA App
Flash this ROM
Thanks! I'll try!

Are you new to the HD2 and want android? Heres an easy way to flash it.

Its a walkthrough!
Going to try this now, thanks a lot, makes it super simple
Hi, I downloaded the sense rom, but where is the setup.exe in it? I don't see it anywhere
Thanks!!!......
This guide does not work
looks useful, thx... but the radio changing part is missing
Why would you guys use this guide when there are better ones here on XDA? Most likely, they took that from here too. There are better ROM's on here too v
suweet i will try this out thanks!!
This guide is OK at best (basic) and using this guide only allows you to use DFT builds which are becoming more and more unpopular. CWM is the much perferred and easiest way.
Its been updated to be even easier
I can confirm it works

2.3.3 DBT Stock Rom

Hi,
I made the 2.3.3 ROM with dsixda's Android Kitchen.
After flashing it didn't start..
http://www.mediafire.com/?hs0534k0cqfvbbo
Could you help me?
I added a2sd, su and busybox.
The updater-script I used from a blackhawk rom.
After deodexing by kitchen the rom also didn't start..
Please help
Best regards
Marcus
Deodex it using my tutorial here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1466071
and then use kitchen ... or simply use kitchen without deodexing ...
Froyo is history ... no 640 video record, another things that make froyo slowly than gingerbread ...
Why in the world you make things harder 4 you when you have many gingerbread smoothly roms?
wiped cache etc.?
I wiped data, cache, dalvik..
I build a new one now, hoping it works now..
And the rom is a gingerbread rom, not froyo.. (2.3.3)
Thank you

My tutorial works 100% if you want to deodex it.
Good luck
The kitchen contains a deodex-script. I did it and waited a long time
Now the new rom is ready to flash.. I try it again..
Thank you
Maybe it is a baseband problem?
I took the XWKPN-Version..
Could it be the bad thing?
XWKPN is not supported by kitchen??
Why do you use 2.3.3? There is 2.3.6 already. 2.3.3 has a security leak and the battery life is shorter than 2.3.6.

Hi,
i know this but the 2.3.6 had a wifi bug.. it reconnected again and again and again..
But now i will test the 2.3.6.
Thank you

now we are on cm7. works nearly perfect.. but I wanted to make my own rom and flash it..
How do you do this?
I want to learn more about this
Thank you for your answer, maybe we flash your rom if cm7 doesn't work as fine as it should do..
But please tell me more about making roms.
Thank you
this is best way to find how to do it, a lot of good infos..
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=how+to+make+a+custom+rom
haha..
Thank you.. I will ask google for this
http://theunlockr.com/2010/04/15/ho...m-for-android-part-2-creating-your-first-rom/
- I copied the system.img (system.rfs - renamed; 2.3.3 and 2.3.6 tested) and the boot.img (blackhawk's) into the original_update directory.
- Setup working folder from rom
- csc files / directories into extracted system folder
- no more changes (no a2sd, no root, ...)
- built (zipalign, edify)
- used blackhawks updater script and binary and came to the end of building zip file
- signed
- flashed
- freezes while Samsung Galaxy Ace logo appears on screen
What did I wrong? I'll go crazy with it..
My zip file doesn't contain a data folder. Bad?
Best regards
Marcus

http://www.mediafire.com/?6nz64e5x5991u30

Thanks to all of you for your help
Best regards
Marcus
