UPDATE: MODS REMOVE THIS THREAD, FIGURED IT OUT WITH SOME MORE DIGGING, THANKS!
Ok, I have the TMO Leo, currently running Tyween's TyphooN cm7 port. I need to reset the phone and going to privacy->reset phone does nothing for me.
I tried doing a clean install of the entire rom, but I'm running into issues everywhere with magldr or the phone in general.
First off, I've downloaded both WMDC 6.1 and HTC Sync (Although htc sync doesn't load after many attempts to repair, and uninstall/installs I get the error : The Program can't start because the tlib_log.dlll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling... Blah)
But the computer recognizes the phone's driver now.
I tried running Task29 to no avil, and then figure I'd skip that set, tried to reinstall magldr (being that booting with power down ONLY boots into the boot loader (also tried reinstalling CWM from the app on the phone, also to no avil)). The computer shows that madldr was installed successfully but, it won't launch into it. Yet I know magldr should already be there, since it's needed to load the current ROM, which works great (minus the the unable to reset thing...)
My other thought was trying to restore the phone to WM and just go from there, but being that WMDC won't recognize the phone, I can't really do that as far as I know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! ASAP too
Side note: Need to do the whole reset because friend is currently in need of a phone, and I'd rather not give him my main phone (mytouch4g) because I'm a bit partial to it lol, don't hate on me for that please

Error happen
Read below for more information
Error Description: USB init failed
Info: .\RSPL\RSPL.cpp (723)
I got this when I first installed the standard DFT ROM, i found that by remving the accept USB connections in activesync resolved it and I was able to install. I then tried to install a different ROM and failed, I tried another and the same. I was initally getting RAPITOOL errors, dll not found. Reinstalled activesync and I am not getting those errors anymore but ROM still wont install. With error above.
Reinstalled Mag ok so bootloader installs still ok, anyone any ideas?
FECK, my NAND Android build has gone as well...
What helped for me:
- If USB is connected: right click on USB -> safely remove MAGLDR USB device
- remove MAGLDR USB driver from PC
- restart pc
- connect phone again via USB and let driver install
Should work fine again now. Guess something can go wrong in the USB driver sometimes.
mag does not show up as a device to remove, i will reboot and try again.
I think activesync reinstall resolved it as it worked after a rebooted, didnt reboot prior to that, thanks for your help anyway.
I spoke to soon, well managed to flash another ROM, didnt like it so flashed again, got half way through and then came up with error again, tried again, back to square one. Anyone ideas what is causing this?
rebooted, still the same, reinstalled activesync and rebooted, all ok again. Why is activesync required, cany anything else be used, anyone any idea what is happening here?
you can install magldr, radio or roms with ruu in 3 color mode in hspl...
get there with wol down key and end call button pressed
when magldr is already installed boot up your phone with pressing end call button until magldr menu appears
and then start you android flashing procedure the way cotulla explained it!
I had the 723 error too and what helped for me was executing the daf.exe with password secured admin rights (your profile on computer has to have admin rights and has to be password secured)

Hi, thanks for info but I am passed that point. I have already installed mag and tested my first ROM, I am having this problem when trying to flash new ROMS. I have now go another ROM on by reinstalling activesync and rebooting again, I am hoping someone is aware of this issue and let me know how to resolve it as I dont want to have to go through this rigmarole everytime I want to flash - as I am still at the stage of settling on a ROM and are trying all the current set.
In a much happier place right now. don't have to stress over winmo 6.5 anymore. Thank you all for your help. Lovin' Android on my HD2. So fast.

I have the same problem, I have radio 2.10.50.26 but Im having some issues with WP7 restarting itself and no data connection, so I want to flash the 2.15 radio. I think I need be running WinMo to do this, but I have no idea how to flash back to a winmo rom from WP7. Help?
Simple,
Get to the tri color boot screen (vol down + power button)
Flash your win 6.5 ROM.
Hi, I am also trying to flash back to 6.5 from WM7. Could someone please give me some more details about how to flash back? I have the 6.5 rom on my PC and can get to the boot screen no problem but if I then try and install the old rom it fails as the PC doesn't detect the phone as being connected. Any help would be much appreciated, as although I love WM7 on my HD2 when it is working, it has a habit of randomly rebooting a lot! Thanks!

Just keep your phone unplugged and put it in bootloader mode. After a few seconds, the bottom part of the screen should say serial. Once it says that, plug it into your computer. Serial should change to USB in a second. If your computer doesnt have a driver for it yet, it should install that. Once its done, and once your phone says USB on the bottom of the bootloader screen, you should just be able to run the rom installer on your computer and install it. Good luck!
Thanks for you help, I managed that fine, though I had also wanted to remove the Hardspl I had used to add WM7. I have tried flashing the stock ROM back (via SD card and via USB) to overwrite it, however it fails to install correctly and the phone is being very unstable. Any suggestions!?
According to the thread I used to flash HSPL to my phone, you just make sure youre running a stock rom, then run the HSPL program like you did when you first put on HSPL, but choose 2.08.0000 in the selection screen.
That said, I havent removed HSPL so Im not entirely sure what to do if that doesnt work. If thats what you tried, Im not sure what to tell you
Have tried fiddling again and think I have done it! In the boot screen it now says SPL-2.08 (hopefully this is stock!?) and the phone seems to be behaving! Cheers for your assisstance
Yup, thats stock. No problem

You can changes Radio Roms as you wish under any OS. Just hold the Vol Down key when switching on to enter bootloader and flash via USB from there.

Hmmm I actually havent tried that yet, Ive done pretty much everything aside from reinstalling windows and stuff. I shut off my wireless during the process though because I turned off my antivirus and firewall. Hopefully that will work. WP7 is nice even without being activated, but it certainly doesnt come with many apps.
Hello guys,
Before getting frustrated about just another noob; No, I know the stuff with the volume down button, but it doesn't work (anymore) for me. I'm a noob but not a retard.
I have a very strange and frustrating problem. Like many of you I wanted to install Android 2.3 on my HTC HD2. Unfortunately I'm quite stuck. I did put radio 2.15.50.14, the 2.08.HSPL (with HSPL3_PKG), MAGLDR 1.13 and CWM (MAGLDR_CWM_Recovery_v3.0.2.5_for_NexusHD2_135M) on my device, but when I tried to install the ROM via AD Recovery the device didn't show the menu and got stuck on "go go go". That's bad, but even worse is that I couldn't enter the tri-color screen to connect via USB and restore the original stock ROM. However I did manage to boot the "Stock Android" (NAND). Only way I can still flash is via USB Flasher. I read something about cabine (.cab) files that could somehow get you in the boot loader on other HTC devices, but can't find any for the HD2.
Anybody has any idea how I can enter the bootloader and restore my original Windows Mobile?
I have been searching for hours now. I have found similar problems, but no answers are given that can solve my problem.
I hope you smart guys can help me out. Is there maybe any way that I can run Windows Mobile the "NAND-way", to connect to Windows Mobile Device Center and flash my device?
Thanks in advance,
Stef van Son
This morning I just tried the volume down again, after the phone was in the MAGLDR menu the whole night. And now i could make it to the bootloader for some strange reason. Does anybody has an explanation for this?
I'm back to Windows Mobile now and have had it with flashing for now, but maybe after my exams I will go for Android again (I hate WinMo).

You might want to use some of the instructions in my signature... Also check out the CoreDroid thread, we have some pretty good instruction there. Usually if you pull you battery, then turn on your phone while holding vol down button, it will boot directly into the rainbow screen.
Well, I did follow quite good instruction manuals, but at the step of flashing the new rom, my device just didn't do what it was supposed to. It's quite strange, because WinMo 6.5 just works perfectly.
And no, pulling the battery out I tried probably a hundred times...
I've been trying to install ACA CLk update to my HD2 since last night. Task29 will not clear rom. Just reads communication error. I have tried it on 2 win7 pc's along with a win xp pc with same results. Please help.
i am having the same error.
whether i run the ROM update utility or use the HD2 tools from the tri-color boot screen, i always get the same UPDATE ERROR (262, i believe).
i'm using USB2, no cradle or dock, brand new HD2.
any help? i'm stuck in a windows environment!
just to be sure : the communication is ok between the computer and ur phone ? u see USB in bootloader?
yes it is between my windows based pc and my HD2. and i have tried through boot loader, seeing seriel first then connecting and then it says USB. i've tried leaving it attached when i restart sit goes straight to USB. i have tried connecting with activesync/windows mobile and then running the ROMupdateutility.exe
i always get the same error: it stalls out right when the progress bar appears and never gets above 0%. then the error screen shows on my PC and i have to go through the recovery process.
thank you for any and all assistance! and sorry for the typos, im normally use swype.
this might have been the problem.
i did not have HardSPL3 installed.
i have done it, and then MAGLDR installed fine.
i skipped Task29 mostly bc i never ran that on earlier installs.
so try HardSPL to solve it, maybe?
(i'm still pretty new to this, so take my suggestions with a few grains of salt)
My HD2 has no rom. Im able to access the bootloader, which says SPL-2.08.0000. I tried to install stock rom 2.10 and 3.14 from tmobile using 2gb MicroSD card, but phone gets stuck in the grayish screen saying "loading" or install in progress but actuall goes no where.
I can't do it via a USB connection because my computer keeps trying to install the device driver and it can't find it. So I think the MicroSD card is the only option buts its not working for me as I mentioned.
I'm new today to XDA, and dont know what other steps to take. Thanks in advance to all.
Update: At one point, it started the install and stopped with the message: Radio_v2 - RSA failed
The drivers you need fmto get the required HTC USB Synced connection in the bootloader is included in the Active Sync (for XP) and Windows Mobile Device Center (for Vista and Windows 7). Click on the guide linked in my sig as there is a link in the guide to the Microsoft site that has the both of them.
The radio fail message means it failed to install the radio version that is with the stock ROM so the install of the ROM was aborted. Maybe flashing via USB will work if not you may have a hardware issue.
I can't get my phone to load a rom either but I accidently tried to put a touch pro 2 rom on mines not paying attention so what I want to know is if their is a way to erase the memory for flashing I did a master reset with the phone off already anybody else ran into this problem if so do u know what I could do

The only thing I know of that you can do to "erase the memoy" as you said. is to one use MTTY or just a Task 29. Sorry I can not find the original tread on MTTY for HD2 but that one should still work for you. The best thing in my oppinion though is to just run a Task 29 as it is the easiest and does the same as the MTTY. plus jst so you know when you flash a stock ROM it runs a Task 28 (wich is pretty much the same thing, some do argue this fact though) before it flashes the ROM.
Go and check out recognized developer ksubedi's HD2 NAND Toolkit. It makes doing anything to the NAND ofthe HD2 very easy and simple, including Task 29.
Now the only concern I have is can you still get to the bootloader by powering on the HD2 while holding the volume down button down? Cause if not you you bricked the HD2 when you flashed the wrong ROM by accident. If you can you can still run th Task 29, oh and you have to have HSPL flashed to the HD2 to use the Task 29 also.
