Did a quick search and couldn't find this posted.
Just to let everyone know the the gps wifi and bluetooth work in flight mode on stock 2.3, which is useful sometimes.
Just wish my sgs2 did that as well.

Bluetooth doesn't

Wifi Confirmed!
Selecting flight mode is different now! You have to press flight mode when you hold on/off button... If you release it, screen turns off

Bluetooth does on stock 2.3. both sending and receiving works in flight mode

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
it does turn automatically off, but can be enabled, as can WiFi. Both work, but phone calls are disabled.
This is a good thing, you can sit there with the BT running and watch/listen to whatever. Planes often now have wifi setups, too.
This also worked in 2.1 but for some reason getting wifi to work in flight mode would only work using a widget such as 'SwitchPro'

This is more of a work around to the problem of not having a compatible software app for the SGS to easily Switch between the different data modes to either save battery or prevent unnecessary 3G data on limited data plans
(I tried all the 2G/3G switchers and other alikes, but none were compatible with our SGS)
There's a simple way to Turn Off G/2G/3G/H without going into Air Plane mode is by simply creating a null or empty APN setting profile like this:

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
using the same method you can create an APN profile that is only for MMS, this way you can still get SMS/MMS and Phone calls, without incurring extra data or wasting power on GPRS/EDGE/3G/3.5G
I used APN on/off fro Market....works great.

ahh... great suggestion, this one actually works!
APN on-off Widget
all the other ones i've tested previously didn't do what it's supposed to do, all of them only takes you to the APN page with was kinda useless

ICS has just arrived for the Greek ROM of A500. Everything that worked fine seem to work just fine, but taking screenshots with the Volume Down + Power button combination still not available, face recognition unlocking not available, still unable to get GPS data (Google Maps on receives location data only through WiFi, GPS Status app doesn't receive any kind of GPS data, no Fixes nor Sats, only A-GPS).

Experiencing a lot of application hang, even after restarting a few times, seems that Acer didn't do their job well, even after the long wait, or is just my A500?

I use Llama on my Defy+ (Kayant's Slim Bean 3.1.0 ROM) to monitor my wifi for a minute every X minutes (it's more complex than that, but this explanation will do). However, it appears that the wifi check times out after the phone goes to deep-sleep.
Reading around I found Deep Sleep Battery Saver's thread, which seems to imply that wifi will not work when the phone is in deep-sleep.
I do not want to use Deep Sleep Battery Saver as its behaviour is not as flexible as the scripts I have in Llama. Thus, I'd like to be able to turn on/off deep-sleep from within Llama (either by calling an application that does it, or invoking an Android Intention that does).
Anybody knows if what I want to do is possible, or will it require a change to llama itself?
EDIT: Thanks! I know how to fix it now I am trying a different Wi-Fi Keep Alive app, though, we'll see how that goes.
Re: [Q] Llama: How can I enable/disable deep-sleep mode?

There is an option in WiFi-Advance- Keep WiFi on during sleep: Set that to always

Might not be related, but do you have location logging in certain apps (facebook etc) enabled? And is Location settings set to WiFi and GPS? Because it sounds to me like something keeps using WiFi and GPS for something.
Go to settings>wifi, hit menu button on the bottom left and select advanced. Untick scanning always available... You can also change "wifi always on" too but I tend to leave it on....
Thnx all wifi is fixed but gps not
Hi, I recently bought a shattered Galaxy S7 Edge from facebook marketplace for $45..
Long story, short. When setting it up i noticed it would not let me connect to wifi, anyways i finally got to the home screen and data 4G lte works fine from my SIM card data, but i can not get the wifi to turn on nor the bluetooth to turn on.. it just switches back to off and a circle spins. in the screenshot it shows the spinning circle on wifi and the greyed out bar on bluetooth (from trying to switch on that wont work)

EDIT: So i want to know if there is any like modem file or what not i can try to flash via open to reinstall the "drivers" for the wifi/bluetooth, if that make sense? Or what do i do? Thanks in advance
I suggest you to install this [Rom][VZW_CRI1][Stock_Oreo_PreRooted_Easy_Unroot/Root][Safestrap_Preinstalled] and then unroot (tuto is in there too)
that way you will have flashed stock firmware, which will problbly solve your issue. And then jrkruse rom, which is great. You will end with a perfectly working, debloated phone
