[Q] HD2 hangs on bootscreen - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys,
I've been searching for an answer in the forum but can't seem to find one here. Hope that you all can help me out with this.
I've flashed to Android from WM6.5 and it will hang at the bootscreen HTC logo. It won't boot into Android. This happens to both SD and NAND versions. This all started a few months ago when I flashed to WP7 and flashed back to WM6.5 and didn't have time to play with Android. Tried various versions of Android and it still hang at the bootscreen HTC logo.
I'm using:
Radio: 2.15.50.14
HSPL: 2.08
Latest MAGLDR
Latest DAT
Can someone please help/advise me? Thanks in advance.

do you make proper nand (internal memory) partition for the roms (5-18-5,5-400-5 etc.)?
if you have leo 512,do you have sd-ext partition?

you should an external partition on your sd
first partition the bigger would be fat32
and the second partition (1GB) ext4 or ext3
then try to run the android again....

Hi guys,
Thanks so much for your help. I'm not sure if I'm doing things correctly. So I've re-read the tutorials again on partitioning my HD2. I've the 512MB version.
The Android Rom that I want to flash to is this NDT SENSE 3.0 PYRAMID SE V4.0[APP2SD+][Raf 2.0 OC] http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185087
Recomended Recovery is 5-160-5
1. I used the HD2 NAND Toolkit to partition my HD2 with 160MB as Partition System with 5MB Cache.
2. I formated my 8GB Transcend microSD and partitioned it 1GB ext2 (primary) and 2GB ext3 (logical) and 5GB FAT32 (logical)
3. I flashed it using DFT_LEO_MAGLDR113_DAF
4. Flash Recovery with edit "flash.cfg" with the recommended settings.
5. Then I Wipe full data and Advance - Dalvik cache on Recovery Menu is recommand
Funny thing... When I tried to do this, it says that there's no SD card in it. Does this mean that my microSD is not supported or do I need a smaller capacity microSD?
I hope you guys can help me with this noob question. Thanks again.

2nd step is wrong.do it that way:2 gb ext3 or ext4(primary)-the remaining part fat32(primary). dont use logical.dont make ext partitions more than one.g
after you have made nand partition with toolkit you have nothing to do with daf (this will repeat the same procedure as toolkit does)
first prepare your sd,put it in phone then partition nand.
now go in mgldr-ad recovery-wipe data factory reset.
lastly flash your rom and reboot.

Hey mutil. Thanks a lot!!!! HD2 running on Android now!!! WOooHOOooo

Need help booting 'Imilka Gingerbread 0.8'

Hey,
I need help with Imilka Gingerbread 0.8, as I don't have 10 posts yet I can't reply in that thread so I have to start a new thread (which is actually .. pretty odd).
I have an EU HTC HD2 and I'm trying to install NAND + CWR, it is my fourth ROM Im using, first NAND, all SDbased androids did work immediatly
Flashed original HTC HD2 ROM
Reformatted SD card FAT32
Used Task 29
Installed radio 2.15.50.14
Installed HSPL 2.08
Installed MAGLDR1.13
Flashed it according to advice 5/170/44 layout
Did every wipe at AD Recovery
Partitioned my 32gb SDcard 1024mb with 0 swap
Installed zip from SDcard
Rebooted
Waiting for about 2 hours at the black screen with green HTC, post says: First boot can take up to 10-20 minutes.
EU users need 5/180/5 CWR system partition and ext2/3/4 partition on sdcard.
TMOUS users need 5/360/5 or more CWR system partition.
ext2/3/4 partition will be made @ AD Recovery partition SD card ?
If not, how can I make this partition, without linux and stuff. Just windows 7.
Or am I doing it in the wrong order?
Just did it all over again
This time with 5/180/5 layout and made ext3 partition using easeus on windows using instead of clockwork thingy.
nope, still doesn't go past the black screen + green HTC
booting for an hour now, nothing
Think I found the problem.
Updated AD recovery to 5.0.2.3 orsomething there was an option show log
and it said creation of EXT2 partition was aborted, so now I put the SD in my card reader and manually formated it ext2. retrying now
Nope, nothing
I can manually mount everything but SD-EXT
show log::
mount: mounting /dev/block/mmcblk0p2 on /sd-ext
failed: invalid argument

thanks a lot for replay
Did you flash the correct partition size (170MB)? Do you have an EXT Partition on your SD card? The translation isn't the best so I'm going to assume that you installed the kernel successfully but are stuck in a bootloop of some sort.

first thanks for replying
i have formated my sd car first partition 7go fat32 primary and 1go ext4 primary
but flash the correct partition i don't know what is 170mb partition
Use the HD2 Toolkit, it explains makes things simple. Read the guides in my signatures too, they should also clear a few things up.

Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card

Hi
I recently installed a Sense 3.x ROM from the Sensation XL Android 2.3.5 and I got only 9MB of free space. I have an initrd-patcher for ICS and JB, but I doubt that it will work on older versions of android.
Is there a way to make android 2.3.5 use the EXT4 partition on the SD-card?
Yes, you have to flash an a2sd or DataOnExt script after first boot/flashing the rom immediately. Of course, while having an ext partition created beforehand.

Thanks for the reply. Can you recommend a good script for doing this?
I'd suggest this one, but there's a whole lot of other ones. So if this one doesn't work well or you don't like it, don't come here asking for another one. Instead, go out there and look for the one that you like.

and just a little clue to help out a little bit
its in the second post of the thread that Marvlesz link to
I used initrd_patcher_v2 on Gingerbread 2.3.7 and it's worked fine. So it should work on GB 2.3.5 as well. Remember to make an EXT4 partition on your SD before any installation, via recovery, and remove any script like a2sd from zip ROM.

I tried to search for initrd_patcher_v2 and found this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36049396
I tried running it on my system, but freezes up just before boot-animation.
I use the SENSATION XL ROM V 3.0 STOCK from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1316632&highlight=sensation+all+in+one
I can't seem to find any a2sd-scripts in the ROM zip, but there's a sd-ext folder inside the ZIP.

Can you do a fresh installation again of this ROM or you try to keep all you data which you using right now?
Sv: Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card
I tried from a fresh install, before booting the first time, and also from an aleady configured installation.

You don't understand, I mean can you format you phone and install this rom again with my advices?
Did you made an EXT4 partition of 1GB or more, with Mini Tool (free), on your sd BEFORE fresh installation of this ROM?
I checked your ROM and the script (apps2sd) is already in that ROM so you probably make a wrong Installation.
Sv: Enabling storage of EXT4 on SD-card
I do understand what you say. I made a task29, clk repartition and recovery from hd2toolkit. Under installation the installer asks if I have 1024mb us model or 512mb EU version. I selected the EU version, as this is the one I have. The only question it asks me is if I have magldr or clk.
After that it returns to clk recovery and I press reboot now. I have created the ext4 partition before I even tried installing android the very first time.
If you want, I can perform a new installation with a video recording to document the process

Do not use CLK or HD2toolkit this time.
I will recommend to do in this way, before touch your phone format your SD with GUIFORMAT (look here on XDA for it) in FAT32 normal mode (no quick), after format the SD use Mini Tool and make a ext4 partition of 2gb (2048mb) at the end of the SD, so when you look at the partition the ext partition have to be at the right side of you. Put inside the SD the zip of Sensation XL 3.0 only, do not do anything else with your sd.
Format your Phone with Task29, reboot in Bootloader,
Flash MAGLDR 1.13 for HD2,
From MAGLDR 1.13 via USB Flasher flash the Recovery Touch Beta 8, (I provided you the Recovery ready for you, unzip and flash)
Reboot in MAGLDR,
put the SD into the Phone,
run Recovery,
Do a wipe data and wipe cache partition and wipe dalvick cache,
Install from sd the zip via recovery,
In Aroma do not select any option if you don't know anything about it, the installation will recognize the EXT4 partition automatically and you ready to GO, GO, GO.
Let me know.

[Q] Stuck on green htc logo after flashing NexusHD2-ICS-CM9-HWA V3.0b to NAND

hi all,
so i've been trying this out for two days and no luck also i've searched for it on the forums
so what i've done so far:
-installed 2.08.HSPL
-the 2.15.50.14 radio
-installed MAGLDR
-flashed CMW with a partition with 200 system 5 cache
flashed the rom via zip installation
and it rebootes and just freezes on the green htc logo on the black background for over an hour and i did a task 29 wipe and stated allover again but with no luck... what am i missing here ?
also how do i prepare my sd so i can install data on ex for that rom ? like from the beggingin what should i do?
and have i mentioned im a noob
Are you sure you're doing NAND install? Or NAND with data on EXT? Cause if you're not having EXT partition on SD card - it's not gonna work for sure (explains why you're stuck on loading screen I guess)
"flashed the rom via zip installation" - make sure you're using correct type of install, out of ideas if you're doing it with NAND (ONLY) option.
well i am sure im installing on NAND because i chose it from the AROMA installer..
say i will flash it on NAND with data on EXT for a change , can you direct me to the right steps for partitioning the sd ?
because all the guides i saw here for prepairing the sd were applicable after i install the rom on NAND ...
The easiest way is to backup your sdcard first, because this will wipe it completely. Go into recovery, then advanced and finally choose partition sd card. I suggest choosing 1024MB, and 0 swap. It will take a while, then return your stuff back into the card and try installing the ROM again.
Or, you can use a desktop software to partition it (use google).
thanks for replying ..
so i partitioned my sd and installed the rom on NAND with data on EXT and my phone still stops at the green htc on black logo
what am i missing here ? has this ever occurred before ?
Are you sure you're using wipe option before installing a new rom? (Task29 @ HTC HD2 ToolKit) cause if you're doing it without any wipeout of your phone memory it won't work either, if it's not that, then I'm out of ideas.
However, Ill make a step-step guide, atleast one which I do before flashing new rom.
#1 wipe, Task29
#2 repartition for the system memory etc, I choose 200mb for system (need some space for additional mods xd)
#3 Install MAGLDR
#4 I don't repartition my SD everytime (moving 30gbs out of it is a pain tbh), but find repartitioning of SD card in Recovery, repartition it to EXT4 format
#5 move your rom .zip to sd card after the SD card is partitioned
#6 install the ROM through CWM, should work after that, make sure that you ALREADY have SD CARD PARTITIONED if you're using NAND+DATA on EXT option, cause otherwise it won't work
I always do it this way and it works, correct me if I missed something there cause I'm already doing it without thinking.
Look my signature and mark your bad blocks for once. After that try to flash rom again with bigger system partition.
Sent from my HD2 using xda app-developers app
OK , I've solved the problem .. i flashed cLK and everything went great ..
i guess something's wrong with MAGLDR and my phone .. thanks everyone for replying

[Q] keep WP7 and switch between android Roms

Hi all
I have HTC HD2 EU , I installed WP7 and Android (Parandroid witch is a good one ) with dualboot ; thanks to all developpers .
Now I want to keep WP7 and switch to other android roms using 4ext correctly (or CWM) , like BOXMAX Rom installatio
How install
- must have 2 part ext4 ... use "MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition" for Re Partition:
1- First Partition "Fat 32" "Primary" (mmcblk0p1)
2- Second Partition "Primary" "Ext4" for system 1gb or 680mb (mmcblk0p2)
3- Third Partition "Primary" "Ext4" for data 1gb (mmcblk0p3)
- use this recovery and boot it from haret or Magldr SD ...
- before flash rom : wipe and format for sd-ext & sd-ext2 from recovery menu then :
- flash rom .
I found a lot of threads but for nand android .
Thanks
I tried some threads , get into 4ext recovery and off course I deleted WP7 , but when started Android ( BOXMAX NATIVE SD) it stuck on boot image for more than 40 min !
I installed WP7 again and Android ( parandroid ) .
keep waiting for help !
You have your answer right within your post, " use this recovery and boot it from haret or Magldr SD ..."
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1337663
Are you using the SD recovery from here https://app.box.com/s/jh2w3keom4x81p1qsw8f which is linked in those instructions?
It sounds like you are flashing 4ext recovery (CWM) and therefore wiping your wp7 in nand.
The sd recovery boots from magldr ad sd.
If you want to triple boot paranoid nativesd, boxmax directsd and wp7, you might want to increase the size of your first sd-ext partition to say 1.5 or 2Gb. So that you have;
fat32 (size=whatever is leftover) first (primary)
EXT4 size 1.5 or 2Gb second (primary)
EXT4 size 1Gb third (primary)
WP7 (whatever you choose) fourth (primary)
Thank you a lot for your answers and your time ,
Now I have dualboot WP7 in nand (4.5 G) and Parandroid Rom in the sd with very easy install .
I only want dualboot , keep WP7 in nand , than use 4ext recovery to wipe Parandroid Rom and flash BOXMAX Rom ( as said in instructions here ) in sd , because when I tried partition with 4ext recovery when flashing BOXMAX Rom I wiped my WP7 from nand :silly: .
How to flash the BOXMAX rom using 4ext recovery without deleting nand ,step by step plz if possible ?
