If it goes as quickly and smoothly as it did for me, that's plenty of time to get root, flash the recovery and a new ROM.
Worked PERFECTLY!! Thanks to the Dev's who broke it. Now I need to flash a new ROM

Great job Team Revolutionary: I wonder if there is a need to run "unrevoked forever" afterwards or if it's even compatible?

I rooted my father's EVO 4G with it yesterday and several reboots afterward, it's running fine. No need for UnrEVOked as far as I can see.
A day Evo 2.3.3 owners will never forget?Lol

Revolutionary and PC36img issues.
Hello all;
new to the game, i was originally rooted with unrevoked but with the upgrade to gingerbread i had to unroot and lost everything. just tried to run revolutionary.exe every thing runs fine until I say yes to internet update, it starts then stops due to error.
help please, I had the a red triangle but with searching i was able to find pc36img_recovery.zip ran that and it fixed the red triangle issue, but the recovery. file only had one img. where would i find the current pc36img for my evo4g, my Evo 4g is one of the 1st released.
REvolutionary is amazing, had to get a refurbed evo that came with update and was stuck with a stock phone for two weeks till this tool saved my life and 3 of my friends as well
how do we revert back to stock?
didnt work on mine 2.3.3 ,4.24.651.1 kept giving me invalid beta key even with copy/paste method..

I have the evo shift and I found a way to get full perm root. ok first off get z4root installed. Rum a temp root after that install vizonary. Restart ur phone after u install vizonary. After re boot run vizonary and run temp root. Make sure ur phone gets temp rootes by vizonary before u do this next step.
After u get temp root working do the perm root. I'm not sure how but I got perm root on my phone I know this cause after rebooting I'm still able to run super powe and wifi tether. Now download rom manager. Use it to install clock work. After installing reboot via rom manager into recvery to make sure it took.
If it took guess what? Ur almost done! Download the rom u wana use and install like usual I am running nfx deoxed with no probs.
I will toucb up on this later

Rocking CM7 On My HTC Evo Shift Thanks To Toastcfh!!
this is mostly for people who are having probs rooting the long way. I tried the long way and ran into some compatibility issues some where. I find that this works perfect. I cam from a htc hero so i know all about rooting and adb and so on. This unlocks every thing and it runs smooth. I am running nfx hero for now odex with my method. Sad part is i cracked my screen last night......OMFG
That's what you get for not doing it the right/long way! You weakened the screen!! Shame on you!!!

Hi,
we are almost at the end of Q2 and I am still waiting to see the 2.3 Gingerbread update for Desire Z. did anybody get it?
hey we have got 3 days to go. it might turn up yet.
But I'm not to bothered.

Have you just started watching the cell phone industry? If you have here is lesson #1. Updates usually come after about 3-4 delays and 6 months after they are suppost to Now you will save yourself alot of waiting. And go download the final thats been in the dev forums for over 2 months.

Yeah I Agree, why worry about a 2.1 sense ROM when we have a 3.0 ROM that is probably better than anything HTC would give us anyway

Yeah but by the time I figure it out the EVO will have gone the way of the dinosaur. I wouldn't even know where to begin. I have thought about development (creating a rom) but I have little knowledge about coding and script writing.
Edit: it wouldn't be a concern for me but my usb port failed and my replacement came preloaded with the update.

Yes, it is being worked on. I've seen a couple rumors that the Unrevoked team is getting close.
Also, keep in mind that the same root exploit is likely to work on both the OG EVO and the 3D, just like the rageagainstthecage exploit worked on multiple devices running Froyo.

Depends where the exploit is -- if it's in Gingerbread, yes. If it's in Sense 3, it wouldn't help us.
But regardless, I'm glad to hear unrevoked is making progress, even if it's just a rumor at this point.
omg I hope this is cracked soon. I had to go to the sprint store with my phone and doing so caused me to load the newest rom by sprint. Long Story but my power button broke. I am waiting for a replacement and hope it comes with older software. I really miss root and need my Synergy fix. I hope progress is made soon.
Sorry to hear that best wishes on the draw I'm in the stock box too
Omgadroid is Linux only
I might just be too used to jailbreaking ipads and iphones for friends, but is there no way to "downgrade" the evo to a jailbreak-able version?
Don't use it to downgrade don't update till ruu downgrades to a higher version then mod that ruu to in a sence upgrade to root
Omgadroid is Linux only
Just a thought

I know once I get root, I'll flash CM7 with the Synergy theme on the market and the Tiamat kernel...

Patience fellas that's all it takes is patience, soon there will be root for 2.3.3.
I will jump in...
As soon as it happened.. I have 3 guys at work that bug me 2x a day for me to root their phones.
I will start with one and work my way around the store.
I want my kingdom Rom back so bad its been like 2 months from the time I had root and that Rom was just getin good so I know it has to be perfict now
Kush Deck, whatever the latest release is (I don't torture myself keeping up with the thread right now), and the Tiamat 3.3.7 SBC kernel.
Then I will breathe a heady sigh of relief, make a nandroid backup to use as a daily driver, and start looking for the latest and greatest of everything and start my old flashing ways again.
Synergy will be my first choice. I liked all the betas, but then started having heat related reboots, went into sprint and the rest is history including my ability to root...
I was using VR Kingdom so I would definitely try synergy and Kings shooter port.....urghhh I hate not being rooted!
