HTC Desire Z cannot get S-ON back - G2 and Desire Z General

HTC Desire Z. Had this phone rooted to load custom ROMs, now want to send it in for warranty purposes.
The phone appears not to be rooted anymore, but I still got S-OFF, cannot get it to S-ON.
Tried to update with RUU (3 WWE versions), tried it with placing PC10IMG.ZIP on SD card and do the update. All’s good, just that god damn S-OFF is still there.
Found a guide on unl..er, but cannot get the first command to work as obviously I’m not rooted anymore.
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p17 of=/sdcard/misc.img
What would you suggest to do to get S-ON?
I was even thinking to root again and then just try that guide again.
And also can you apply factory stock boot loader from T-Mobile G2 onto HTC Desire Z ?
thanks

Read the wiki. Instructions and links are there.

I have some questions that i couldn't find an answer so i come to you guys. (first off here is my information)
Model Number: HTC Magic
Build number: 3.05.631.7 CL#118917
kERNEL vERSION: 2.6.27-5b47e83
Baseband version: 63.18.55.06KU_6.35.10.18
Firmware version: 1.5

All i want to do is remove some stock apps some stock HTC apps. But i am told i need to root my phone.( i have some tutorials http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/29/how-to-root-the-HTC-magic-in-one-click/ and http://theunlockr.com/2009/08/29/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-your-htc-magic/ )
So what should i do if possible all i really want is to install the updates from htc then download apps and install it with astro and remove some stock apps...
can some one give me some incite to my problem.
What custom ROM is exactly like htc's and just as fast.
Or
What custom ROM should i get if i have to! and how often do updates come out.
Like i want to install the newest ROM from HTC http://www.htc.com/europe/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=267&cat=2&dl_id=862 but it's only for (Portugal,Denmark, Norway,Germany,Greece,Sweden,Austria,Israel). plus I'm from Canada so I'm guessing it's in a different language

i have used the guide here in this forum after creating a Gold Card
i have already did that to get the 1.83.415.4 update for my phone to be able to use the Arabic official keyboard in this newest update
or at least root my phone and get better custom stable software
i have checked the software update after downgrading but it still saying my phone software is up to date!!!!!!
Well,
i need your help getting the answers for the following:
1- Does my phone became unbranded now after downgrading? i did not saw the usual vodafone logo when starting m phone
2- is there is anyway to force my phone to update the new official software after downgrading?
3- if i can not force it to update ..what i should do to root my phone and which the most safer way to do that (please refer me to step by step guide and a working links to the required tools)
4- what's the most stable software which contains Arabic support and how i can install it in step by step guide..
Thanks in advance for your help and please excuse the long topic as am totally new to android ( it took around 2 weeks to just figure out how to downgrade my phone)
Waiting your answers ASAP
1. Yes its unbranded.
2. You can update officially by downloading an ruu but don't. Best to get radio s-off.
3. Search the development section. You want to perm root and s-off.
4. Leedroid arabic edition.

Someone Swyped my idea.
Thanks for your reply
Good news that my phone became officially unbranded
Well, in another forum (Arabic one) they just adviced me to download the official new rom 1.8xxxx on my pc (they provided me with the links)
then to connect my phne to my pc and then start the installing through my pc
No S-Off needed... No Rooting needed
and guess what... it's working like charm now
Thanks everybody
Yep, but someone could find the complete lack of root a downside

There is no simple method. There is one method, and it's the one you saw.
Do it right, and there's no risk.

Follow the above exactly, and its no problem. There's a very similar guide on XDA, but when I found it the links to the files were no longer available....these links should all still work. Had it done from beginning to end within an hour. Just substitute whatever ROM you want at the end.

No update from Android 5.0.2 possible

Hello,
I recently went back to stock with my HTC ONE M9+ since i discovered bluetooth doesn't work with CleanState.
I first flashed the Asia_WWE_1.61.707.4. recovery and the Asia_WWE_1.08.707.4_Radio_1.1506V24P14.1605.0421_HT zip.
Then I did a factory reset.
I received several updates without problems, but after installing the last one, it says there is no further update available for my device. I already updated to Android 6 once, so this must be an error.
Any ideas?
My device:
Android Ver 5.0.2
HTC Sense ver 7.0

Nevermind, i figured it out. Had to change the CID from SuperCID to HTC__044
