On the latest radio 4.12 I noticed that the signal drops every minute for about 10-20 seconds. I have good reception in my area, normally 4-5 bars. The only work around I have is dialing *#*#4636#*#* changing to GSM only. BUT, when I reboot it goes back to default WCDMA only, I'm on bulletproof miui, latest pershoot, latest radio and yes, I've tried data EFS wipe and v6 and v3 of automatcher. Please help!!!
soooo.... go back to your previous radio that worked for you?
Been running this radio since it was posted. I have lost complete signal twice, only need a hot reboot to regain signal. Aside from that, I have noticed better reception in areas where I had poor signal before.

Anyone else having bad service? I currently have the latest radio, js 1.5 build. Its been going on for like a week. I'm debating on switching back to the previous radio to see if that will fix the problem. I'm also guessing maybe it has to do with the lx just being released.
My G1 is going nuts switching to Edge and GPRS back and forth for the last 2 days.
i just reflashed the latest radio, and everything seems fine again
I've had network disconnection issues with the 2.22.19.26I radio so I flashed back to the 2.22.19.23 & all has been well so far.
FYI: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=515624
Although I am not 100% sure on how this works, I called T-Mobile and had them "reset my connection". Had to turn the phone off for 5 minutes and when I booted up, I have had zero issues since.
She said sometimes the phone will find a tower and get "locked" to it. If you go outside of it's range, you lose your signal. Not sure exactly what the real truth behind this is but whatever she did fixed the problems...
Running 26I
I'm using 2.22.19.26I radio on JDv1.5 and haven't had any problems. I reboot frequently, though, not sure if there's anything there.
Hi all,
Having a bit of trouble with my rooted 32b HTC magic, my phone constantly loses all signal despite being in areas with great coverage. On occasion, it will gain a slight (one or two bars) amount of signal, however this generally disappears before I have time to make use of it. I have searched the forums and discovered this appears to have happened to a few other people, however i could not find a solution. I have tried rebooting, switching airplane mode on and off, and did a factory reset, all to no avail. However, interestingly, after my factory reset I did manage to gain almost perfect signal for roughly 10 mins, before it slowly degrading to nothing after about 30 mins. My specs are:
32b Vodafone Magic
CyanogenMod-6.1.0-DS
Baseband Version 62.505.20.17U-2.22.19.261
Kernel Version 2.6.35.9-cyanogenmod shade toxygene #2
Thanks heaps to anyone who helps with this really frustrating problem

I had a similar problem with the 32A. I had changed the radio and ROM when my issues started. I eventually reverted back to a know working ROM & Radio. Eventually, I waited from a newer Cyanogen ROM to be released. I would suggest to try and experiment with different radio and ROM if you have the time.
When I do flash, I always do a full wipe. Another xda member posted a flashable wipe that works extremely well. I would recommend that method to wipe.
Thanks heaps for the reply, yea i'd considered changing the radio, but couldn't find a download for a 32b device, and i'm not super experienced so i was worried about bricking the device as i understand I would potentially need to flash a new spl as well?.
The problem, however, appears to have remedied itself. I'd temporarily fixed the problem by selecting use 2g only network, (settings > Wireless & networks > Mobile networks ), this would allow strong Edge reception, but as soon it was switched off, i would lose it again. After leaving this setting enabled for the duration of the day, i decided to have another go at switching 3g back on and for some reason i've regained strong 3g reception for the last 3 hours, Ill report back if i lose it any time soon, however if anyone is experiencing the same problem, have a go at this before flashing a new radio.
If this is a repeat thread, I apologize but I'm not having any luck finding this specific issue.
Since using EB01 I've noticed my signal bars going frequently from 2-3 bars down to 1-0 bars, yet checking the signal strength in the About Phone>Status section it is consistently in the -80s, which is relatively good signal.
After a while I started noticing that if my 3G icon was showing up and/or down activity, it would show only 1 or 0 bars, yet when it switched to "D" (meaning dormant), it would shoot back up to 2-3 bars, until data started flowing again then it would go back to 0-1 bars.
As I started troubleshooting this, I was using the Speedtest.net app to check my download speeds. When data was showing that low, it would either time out or would give very low speeds (in the 100k's both up & down). Sometimes it would go up to the 200-300k's.
Now here's what I don't understand: if I turn off my data connection, then turn it back on, my data connection goes back up to 2-3 bars again, and download tests go back to the 600k-1mbps speeds again. So it's like it's losing data reception until a fresh connection is made.
I've tried both some of the Superclean ROMs including the latest 2.8. I've been using the EB01 voodoo kernel. I also recall when I was running the EA28 OTA update before rooting that it was happening as well. Right now I'm back to the stock debloated deodexed ROM with the same voodoo kernel and switched to the DL09 baseband radio and had this happen.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Does anyone recommend a certain ROM/kernel/baseband combination to see if it will help?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You know, I never really paid it too much mind, but I MIGHT have a similar situation. Though, I don't have to reset the connection, it just up and down drastically a lot. I will look into this myself, see if I can find anything to help you.
Yup. I had this problem too. I had a phone that initially came with DH rom. After I flashed EB01 modem and rom, I was missing 3G for 30 seconds after I wake the phone up. Practically the same symptoms: bad battery life, low up/down 3G speeds (I had ~100Kb/s max). I tried to flash different modems DI, DJ, DL, EB, tried different non-voodoo kernels, different roms, nothing helped. Even ODIN back to full stock DI01 did not solve the problem.
Solved with getting a replacement phone. After I got a replacement with EA28, I got double battery life and great up/down speeds. So right now I am wondering: should I risk my phone to flash leaked EB01 again?
I have this weird issue with my hd2 flashed with a custom NAND android 2.3.3 rom.
When its on my bed or desk or whatever it has full strenght HSDPA signal but as soon as i pick it up it drops to 2 bars and then to 0.
It only does this when i'm holding it in my hand, also when i move it around i can see the signal strength switching from 2 bars to 0 and back again.
At first i tought it was the radio but after trying them all and trying other roms i'm still having the same issue!
Switched to 2G only now and my reception is always perfect at full strenght but now im on EDGE all the time...
Did someone here have the same problem and found a sloution by any chance?
thanks in advance!
Several things.
Running a i9020a with KB3 radio right now. I run NSCollab and have been running it for a month. I stay on top of the updates.
I tried switching manually to 2G but if I switch back it fails. I also tried the latest Toggle 2G fix so it doesn't FC, and it does automatically switch me to 2G, but I nevver get back to 3G. I let my phone sit overnight and it failed to go back to 3G. I was on EDGE the whole time.
I flashed radio KD1 on top and it didn't bring me back. The only way I got back was by flashing KB2 and rebooting, then KB3 again and then I got 3G signal back.
Is there something with my phone or have other people seen this too?
