You need flash MAGLDR, then flash CWM Recovery with right size, after that flash which Rom you like.
Search in Box, many topic guide you do that or go to Thread of Rom you want also have guide

there's a problem i cant get the phone into MAGLDR i flashed it a zillion times

Which HSPL do you have?
You have to have HSPL3 installed, not HSPL4, that one does not work with MAGLDR.
And please post your questions in the Q&A Forum not in the development forum.

Sorry sir, but you are wrong. HSPL4 will work untill and unless you select "2.08.HSPL" during installation, there is as such nothing called "HSPL4". The latest spl is 3.03 for use with 3.14 roms.
Just grab any HSPL binary and select "2.08.HSPL" to install and you should be fine, the recommended radio is "2.15.50.4" atleast that's what i use.

Yes you are right
What i meant with HSPL3 and HSPL4 as a matter of fact were the file names themselves (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433).

i've got HSPL 2.08 but the flash setup sais 100% complete your phone will reboot but it only reboot to its splashscreen

I´d try going way back to WinMo stock Rom and starting fresh with hspl2.08, task29, radio 2.15... (or 2.12 you´d have to try which one works better and uses less power), maybe a first splash screen, magldr113, cwm 4.0.1.4....

Sorry could you explain a bit more? I flashed HSPL 2.08 via HSPL4 package and also flashed a custom WinMo ROM, so I'll be fine to flash MAGLDR right? Your post has slightly confused me, so any explanation would help.

At First you need hspl 2.08 installed and than you need a radio rom which supports the 576mb ram this are the radio roms above 2.07 .The radio roms you can find in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
and than flash magldr if it stucks at the splash screen it means that you have no 576mb ram radio rom installed after you succesfull installation of magldr install the cwm there are a lot of threads where an how to is download the tool from ksubedi it is easier for newbies.
EDIT: ksubedis toolkit you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1090783

Nearly right - any radio above 2.08, but must be a .50 version, NOT a .51. Just be sure about that
my leo is a 512mb t8585 so im fine right?
Yes mate. You'll need to get HSPL installed in order to use magldr though. You can get that here...

See post 2 for HSPL3 (2.08)
i already have it HSPL2

unlikely. most flashing errors that result in serious problems happen when the fail occurs whilst the spl or the radio portion are being flashed.
neither of these parts are flashed when flashing a nand rom, cos they're already set.
If a bad nand flash occurs, just go into bootloader/magldr and you should be able to flash again.
Changing radio, and flashing stock wm roms are the ones you wanna be carefull of. If your power is shakey, don't flash these too often.
ok thnx will try most likely mdj's cynanogen mod 7 today
BIG THNX to everyone i can not click thnx that many times
instaled MAGLDR1.12 then md'j cynanogen mod 7 2.3 gingerbread, i did al of this for about 10 min soo fast ,again thnx to everyone

[Q] Remove HSPL 3

Hello everyone
I know this is a question that has been asked 100 times before, but a post from mskip got me worried.
Here's my problem:
- I want to install a Gingerbread ROM on my HD2. I have understood everything about how to do that, thanks to XDA.
- My HD2 is currently running a Winmo 6.5 3.14 stock ROM from HTC's website.
- To install it, I had to install SPL3 on my phone. So on bootloader, my phone now shows SPL-3.03.HSPL (Cotulla HSPL btw, thanks Cotulla )
- And to install the Android ROM, I know I have to downgrade to SPL-anything between 1 and 2.
- I know you can do that by installing a stock ROM, but I read somewhere in a post by mskip that you CANNOT suppress HSPL3 by downgrading the ROM.
Anyway, in short, my question is:
Can I suppress HSPL3 and eventually manage to start the install of an Android ROM?
I'm not a complete noob, but not an expert either and I don't want to brick my phone or anything.
Thank you very much in advance
I don't understand what you mean by "suppress" it but basically all you need to do is to get 2.08.HSPL on your phone. How you do that is boot to 3.03 (volume down and power) and open HSPL3 on your PC. Then after it finds your phone etc. on the phone just choose 2.08.HSPL from the menu and flash that. Then after that installs you should be able to flash your radio and MAGLDR etc.
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Skellyyy is completely right you need to run the HSPL again on your HD2 and select HSPL version 2.08 HSPL because MAGLDR only supports 2.08 HSPL right now. You will hsve to flash MAGLDR in order to flash a Andriod ROM.
Thank you guys for the quick answers.
But the point is that the ROM I currently have (3.14) only runs with SPL3.
So if I downgrade to HSPL2.08, isn't there a risk that my phone is not going to be able to do anything after that, let alone installing Android?
See, that is a quote from the post I'm using to install Android. It says:
"A: Install HSPL3
Prerequisites
* Windows Mobile Device Center installed on Windows Vista / Windows 7 or
* ActiveSync installed on Windows XP
* You must have any SPL version from this list on your device:
o SPL 1.42.0000
o SPL 1.62.0000
o SPL 1.66.0000
o SPL 2.07.0000
o SPL 2.08.0000
o SPL 2.10.0000
(To check your SPL version, hold the Volume Down button and do a reset)
You should have this SPL version unless you are using the latest 3.14 ROM with SPL 3.03.0000. No worry, just downgrade your Windows Mobile ROM from v3.14 to v1.66 will do. Download HTC HD2 v1.66 ROM. Then downgrade your phone from SPL 3.03.0000 to SPL 1.42.000."
So it says here, downgrade to v1.66 ROM, and then downgrade from SPL3 to SPL1.42. That is not very clear to me. Isn't that supposed to be the same thing?
If downgrading to ROM 1.66 downgrades SPL to 1.42, then why should I AFTERWARDS downgrade from SPL3 to SPL1.42? Isn't that going to be already done?
And more importantly, you guys say I should simply run HSPL and choose an appropriate version, which is yet another method than what is explained above...
Oh boy I'm confused...

No need to worry my friend I am currently running a 3.14 ROM as you can see by my sig. I also have HSPL 2.08 on my HD2 just incase I decide I want to run Andriod or flash a custom ROM. I can tell you my HD2 is working just fine.
No those prerequsites are just the showing you the SPL version that you habe to have to flash HSPL 3. You only have to have ond of those versions but it has to be a version included in the list or you can not flash HSPL 3. If you do not have one of these versiond then the flashing to 1.66 then to HSPL 3 is just MSkip telling you how to get a SPL version needed to flash HSPL 3. But this is not needed now as there is a HSPL 4 version now that allows you to flash 2.08 HSPL when you have SPL 3.08.0000 or SPL 3.10.0000 with out having to downgrade your ROM.
So that basically means I should get HSPL4, run it and choose HSPL2.08 for example, and then I will be able to follow all steps to install and Android ROM?
Correct?

You have a tmous,,, you can't run 3.14 roms on a reg hd2 with any spl except 3.03.0000 or 3.03.Hspl.you get very unstable phone that thinks it has the 576meg ram unlocked but only really has 200 or so,with only 50 or so free for user apps. Unuseable.
OP correct, into bootloader, Hspl 4, 2.08.Hspl then back into bootloader and flash magldr from there.

Samsamuel I do understand what you are telling me here and I was a little concerned about this when I first flashed the HSPL 2.08 to my HD2. But to be honest I have noticed no real change in my HD2's performance compared to before. Also to be fair though I only have 5 nonpreinstalled apps on my HD2 as I found early on with my HD2 that a lot of apps can effect the performance of the HD2. I also never have more than two apps running at the same time as a rule too.
At the OP yes download and run HSPL 4 and choice 2.08 HSPL and you will be good.

because you have a tmous,,,,,, tmous 3.14 rom comes with spl 2.10.0000 and works with 2.08.xxxx, (or it may come with spl 3.03.0000, im not sure, but it doesnt require it, and your phone is proof of that) however the regular 3.14 roms come with and will not work without 3.03.xxxx.
Oh I get what you are saying now the TMOUS can do this but the EU can not. I was not aware of this. Sorry it took a minute for me to understand, I have been sick for like two weeks so my head is a kittle foggy because of it lol.
heh, it doesnt get mentioned often in relation to tmous.
tmous users never get the unstable system/bad ram error when they flash 3.14, regardless of the spl, so they never need to notice what the spl is before / after, so dont notice it didnt get updated.
Im sick too, its the time of year for it. Not that anyone would notice teh difference, i am still sat hunched over the keyboard, swearing under my breath occasionally at anyone who gets close,,,,,
Sam, it wouldn't really matter though would it? As he plans on flashing MAGLDR straight away so there wouldn't even be WinMo on the phone to make it unstable?
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Oh no course not, all that stuff is fine.
Thank you very much guys, this is all very clear for me now.
I now know that HSPL4 -> 2.08 -> then droid flash is doable for me
Good night/day to you all.

Help

I just got an HD2 T8585 (radio 2.15.50.14), European version.
It comes with Artemis v62, and I want to install a decent sense Android rom.
The thing is, I don't know how.
I don't know if I have Maglrd(?) installed, or not.
Can anyone help me? I don't want to brick the phone!
If you can also recommend me a rom, I'd be thankful.
thanks
I think the maglrd is only for android and wp7 builds (for now)
if you have Artemis installed then you probably only have HSPL installed. Depending on which HSPL you have, it may not be compatible with MAGLDR (which is required for Android/WP7).
There's a thread called 'how to flash everything' -- look for it to get started.
if u have artemix than u have hspl 3.03 or sspl ...to install magldr or clk u must install hspl 2.08 ...download the toolkit ...and choose a rom from nand section ...u will find in the rom thread the instruction for installation

[Q] Android would not boot, now MAGLDR won't start

I tried installing NAND Android ROM several times with no success. Every time I got stuck at the boot screen after installing Android. And each and everytime I used the HD2 Toolkit to Wipe and install MAGLDR once again, and tried installing Android with other ROMs and other Radios.
Now in the end, MAGLDR won't boot at all after installing it, and I'm stuck at the HTC logo without anything installed.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this happened after I installed HSPL 3.03.
HSPL 3.03 is not compatible with MAGLDR (basically, it is not compatible with Any Android Bootloader, it is only for winmo roms)
Downgrade to HSPL 2.08 and flash MAGLDR again, you should be alright.
Saying "downgrade to hspl3" and "Hspl4 aka 3.03" is not only incorrect but it's confusing too, and almost certainly will make people think they need to flash a stock rom to downgrade 3.03 to 2.x so that hspl3 will work,,,, which is not necessary.
@OP He was correct that 3.03 is the problem,, magldr will only start when spl is 2.08.hspl.
You should run Hspl4 and choose 2.08.hspl in the dropdown. No hspl3 or downgrading necessary.

is still wrong, because hspl4.exe is just a loader, and inside hspl4 is contained images of
2.08.0000
2.08.hspl
3.03.0000 and
3.03.hspl
So, you can use hspl4 to apply 2.08.hspl and android will run fine. Once teh spl is loaded, the phone has no clue whether you used hspl2, 3 or 4 to apply 2.08.hspl, so saying 'hspl4 isnt compatible' makes no sense.

Need some help

I have HD2 with windows mobile 6.5, ROM version 3.14 and radio 2.15.
I am looking to install Android on my HD2. Can someone please advise on following -
1. If I install Android, can I revert back to Windows at a later stage? If yes, would that be possible by simply installing the Windows ROM ?
2. Is NAND install, an installation on memory card? If yes, what is the other type of install ?
3. Can someone point to the latest stable version of Android build that I can install ?
Thanks and please let me know if you need more details.

Thanks...Its a very useful tutorial.
To revert back to original WinMo 6.5 or to uninstall HSPL, can I just connect the phone to PC and run the packaged installer I downloaded from HTC site ?
Also, the tutorial mentions HSPL1, I have read elsewhere on this site to use HSPL4 for 6.5 ROMs and HSPL 3 for Android or WP7. Is that correct ?
I am still new and havent installed any custom ROM or Android on the phone yet, so apologies for any naive questions.
Finding 6.5 too restrictive and looking to upgrade to Android or WP7 on my HD2.

flashing stock from usb will reset everything EXCEPT it wont remove HSPL, , that's the whole original point of hspl, to allow flashing without itself being removed.
To remove hspl you could either flash the same stock rom but using the sd card method, OR just use the hspl program again, but this time select an spl that ends .0000 and not .hspl
So, example, , your spl is 3.03.0000, , you use hspl4.exe to set 2.08.hspl so that you can run magldr/android/wp7, , later you want to return to stock 3.14 so you flash the 3.14 rom over USB, and then run hspl4.exe again but choose 3.03.0000
