Help anyone!
I rooted my MT4G, download and installed Rom Manager, loaded Rom Manager into the memory, download Virtuous Unity Rom. I rebooted into CWR, I wiped the data, wiped the cache, wiped the Dalvik cache and then installed Virtuous Unity.
The install went well, the phone booted into the rom (at least into the start up screen where you pull the link) then a black HTC screen stayed on for about 15 minutes (I didn't want to damage anything so I waited) I pulled the battery from the phone and it wouldn't boot anymore.
I held the down key to boot into the HTC recovery screen I still saw the S-Off so I selected recovery and it rebooted the phone into the CWR but it won't show my anything but the lil guy in the hat No Text or Nothing. I knew at this point I was screwed.
I tried to load the stock recovery PD151MG.zip file but it wouldn't load.
Please tell me there is a way out of this? I did some research and I saw something about an ext partition . Can I get CWR to work again or am I screwed??

EDIT: i didn't fully read your post, sorry.
You can use adb to flash CWM image again
I didn't do a Nandroid.
When I hold the down button and launch into the HTC recovery screen (where I see the S-Off) I click down to Recovery and press the trackpad (nothing happens) it says " Power" to select item. I press power while recovery is highlighted and then it rebooted to the Hat with a green half circle with a arrow point back to the hat.
Below the hat it says: ClockworkMod Recovery v.3.0.2.4.

do you have the engineering bootloader? do you have abd setup?
I know how to use ADB but I don't know how to flash CWM. Can you lead me to the link? Please man!!!
Can I use ADB even though my phone won't boot into a Rom??

Just making sure, but you put it on your sdcard and then went to hboot and it didn't recognize it? Usually that works flawlessly...

you have to select "bootloader" on the white screen then it will try to detect it
EDIT: mark manning has this guide to easily flash cwm through hboot if you still need it.

Yes I place the stock recovery image in the root of the sdcard
When the recovery starts

The same for all of the rest.

I'm pretty sure I have these items in the correct order to "Permaroot" my MT4G and begin using Clockworkmod to load ROMs (and or/also want to be able to back up my default ROM)
My current attempts:
Downloaded and installed: VISIONary, from android.modaco.com, sorry I can't post actual links (VISIONary+, most recent version) was no longer avalible in the market so I had to install it from the URL)
Downloaded and installed "Clockwordmod" from the Market.
Put the phone into USB-Debugging mod, and disabled fast boot.
VISIONary+ question: I setup TEMPROOT, and "Root on Boot", assuming I would than be able to boot into "Recovery mode" via "Clockworkmod"
The phone reboots, and I'm assuming that would boot into "Root" **Root on boot** (Yes I know the temp. should fail after a reboot, but I thought, I'll stay away from "Permaroot" for now). However, I don't get to any sort of recovery mode, instead I get a screen with a triangle and exclamation in red, and that's it, it just hangs there, I'm thinking that this is just USB-Debugging, and I'm not achieving recovery mode, so this must be the result of not booting into a root mode.
Going back to VISIONary+, I attempt to "Permaroot", the phone's homescreen goes blank and nothing happens. The phone eventually turns itself off but doesn't reboot, subsequently, I must restart it manually, again, I'm not sure if I've achieved anything?
Advice, suggestions? Would be very appreciated.
Questions that might explain what's wrong?
Even in USB-Debugging mode, should I be connected to a PC via USB-Cable during all of this?
Any thoughts on why the PERMAROOT fails, or the "Root on boot" fails to get me to "Recovery mode"?
Last thing, I get a complaint from "Clockworkmod" when loading, that my SD Card must be mounted (which I'm assuming it isn't due to USB-Debugging mode and/or being connected to the PC) So should I get a good charge and disconnect from the PC while attempting all this? Fixed, disconnected USB-Cable, and mounted SD card in settings, this stopped this error
Also, I'm interested in backing up my default ROM ASAP as a safety-net in-case I screw something up. Is this possible via recovery mode in "Clockworkmod"? Links to advice on doing this?
Thanks everyone! Great board!
you should follow this as it worked for me flawlessly

I did the Flash Clockwork Recovery but when I reboot into recovery I get Red Exclamation Point then when I click vol up and power the next says " E:Can't open /cashe/recovery/command " What should I do??

You can NOT flash clockwork without S-OFF and the red triangle is recovery. It is stock recovery if you press volup+power you will see the menu
S is off I rooted my phone using the terminal Emulator and that worked fine
When I press upvol and power I see
Reboot system now
Apply sdcard:update.zip
Wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cashe partition
E:Can't open /cashe/recovery/command
This is what my screen shows when I try to go into recovery and again my phone is rooted s-off and I use superuser
Try flashing the recovery again... for some reason people have reported it not sticking... just go back and flash it like 2 or 3 times then reboot
I found out the problem it was so easy but I never would of thought of checking but my wife said maybe my Rom Manager is a bad copy (because I get all my apps from a not so honest site) so I deleted my RM and downloaded the freebie on the market and it worked on the first try.....Now I have Glacier Rom running and I feel like a new man

Hello everyone...
I have a newly bought HTC MT4G
Really need some help..
My phone got stuck with the tmob welcome logo after successfully temproot and permaroot...it does not seem to continue through the phones interface...I removed the battery and attempted to load factory reset and recovery reset..no luck at all..still got stuck...this is how my bootloader looks like:
GLACIER PVT ENG S-off
HBOOT-0.85.2007
MICROP-0429
RADIO-26.03.02.26_M
emmC-boot

HBOOT
<VOL UP> to previous item
<VOL DOWN> to next item
<POWER> to select item
FASTBOOT
RECOVERY
FACTORY RESET
SIMLOCK
SYSTEM INFO
IMG CRC
I dont know what to do with the phone now...been reading a lot but it seems i get more confused..tnks really appreciate it
You must have the adb and fastboot binaries for this to work. There are several threads on xda to get those to work. Once you have that working, go to the clockwork recovery thread and download clockworkmod recovery 2.5.x.x. Then copy that to your /AndroidSDK/tools folder. Boot your phone into HBOOT mode. Select Fastboot. Plug your phone into your computer. Let it load the drivers. Open up a command window (DOS) by pressing the window button + R and typing cmd and press run. Change the directory to your /AndroidSDK/tools folder (cd /AndroidSDK/tools). Then type:
fastboot devices
It should return your phone's serial number. Then type:
fastboot flash recovery
DO NOT HIT ENTER YET! Put a space after recovery, then drag and drop the recovery file from your tools folder onto the command screen window. Now press enter.
It should say sending recovery....Okay. Then writing recovery.....Okay.
After that select bootloader from the fastboot screen. Then once it changes to HBOOT mode, just select recovery and it'll boot you into clockworkmod recovery where you can flash any rom you need to.
ok Im gonna try this step by step...hopefully I my phone aint bricked.. tnks so much!
Don't worry, your phone is far from bricked! As long as HBOOT mode is available to you you're fine! I'll try to find the link to the original ROM so that way you can just flash that through HBOOT if this process doesn't work. This process will allow you to keep your engineering bootloader (0.85.2007). Flashing the original ROM will make you have to go back through the rooting process. I really hope you get this to work! Good Luck! And by all means you can PM me with any questions you have. That way I can get back you faster. If you include your email, I can respond right away.
EDIT: Here is the link to the Stock 2.2.1 update. This will undo root. So use that as a last resort. But it will definitely work!
You want to download the PD15img.zip

and then went to bootloader

if this is the exact process you used, i'm not sure what could be the issue.

Yup exactly what I did...seems frustrating...any method i use goes to the same logo freeze...but before this happened...in the first place...I tried to replace the (system/bin) folder on the root...coz i haD this issue of placing back my original WPA_supplicant becoz it seems that it wasnt detecting WIFI networks at all...then as soon as I restarted goes stuck with the logo...I was hoping that I could flash it back with the original ROM...then now its this...

When you do the PD15IMG method you store the PD15IMG on the root of the SD card and turn the phone on holding the power and volume down button. It should never get to the boot image.

Just to let you know, you'll only be able to flash Gingerbread ROMs with ClockworkMod 3.0.x.x. You have to use CWM 2.5.x.x to use Froyo ROMs. Just wanted to make sure you knew that, so you don't get into another "brick" kind of situation.

I do believe you are correct...it so happened that i have tried loading Clockworkmod
2.x.x.x and 3.0.0.5 and the only thing that passed through the logo and showed the menu is 3.0.0.0...
I also made a mistake in placing the PD15img.zip file on my SDCARD as "PD15img.zip.zip" because the extensions are already associated and it its these small things that one has to be really careful about the certainty of the process step by step.
Anyways as soon as I corrected the file name...my HBOOT loader automatically did the job..but I am back to square one...but this time IM gonna use the older clockwork MOD to install Froyo roms...which my main problem in the first place was losing my WPA_supplicant file..in which I lost the WIFI connection capabilities of the phone..in which it made it difficult for me to access key files to reflash and boot the phone again as a default factory phone...

it happened to mine as well...did you flash a new kernel on it....sometimes on a rom if you flash a new kernel to lets say overclock your phone or some sort it goes into a BootLoop where the Mytouch boot screen keeps rebooting but does not go into any rom...if you can get to recovery wipe cache and try to reboot..if you cant get to recovery try getting to it through the normal Hboot (volume down +power key)..hope it helps

You should be able to flash any ROM you choose, just be sure to follow the instructions for the ROM (they vary, so you should look at the thread for the ROM).
If it's boot looping, you're probably not following the instructions...

You're right. When intalling a new ROM, the first boot is longer because the new one is building a new Dalvik cache and so on... depending of the release.
Be patient a bit more, then report ...

if you can get into your phone into hboot/recovery/fastboot then your phone is not a brick!
the problems with white htc screen is called a bootloop. like the user above suggested use a full wipe. easiest way is connect phone to PC and go into fastboot from your options when in the bootloader
type in fastboot erase system -w this will erase all system and userdata
then disconnect phone from PC when that is complete and navigate to your recovery option. select the recovery option and then mount back to USB cable and select USB toggle option so you can data transfer to SD card.
put new rom you wish to use or redownload one you wanted. then try again
It's actually a splash loop, a boot loop is the boot animation. But you get the idea

I don't understand where u was waiting.
Can you describe what was happening?
Are you able to access the bootloader??
1. Pull out battery
2. Put in battery
3. Hold power + Volume Down buttons until inside bootloader UI
4. Use volume keys to navigate to the "Recovery" option then press the power key.
5. Once recovery has booted, use volume keys to navigate to the "Factory reset & wipe data" option, then press power key.
6. Reboot.
Results?
Had the same problem in the past.
I downloaded an RUU and managed to get my phone to boot normally.
Take a look on this:

I used the Asia_WWE_1.32.707

Got part with fastboot but where am I supposed to write -w? I'm not that good in this that is why I ask here for help. But thanx anyway. And I tried wipe everything using recovery and when I wipe system writes error all the time.
I also tried all the above method but to no avail. Then a friend of mine bought the dhd so i made a goldcard from his phone loaded a pd98img.zip and flashed.. my dhd is back in action... i think this is your only solution, find somebody with the same phone. If u cant let me no i'll send you a gold card.
If it could help me than upload it somewhere And tell me how to use it. I heard about it but not sure.
You can remove your sd card then you will be able to choose the recovery option instead of it constantly going to hboot. The hboot looks for a file and asks you to instal or not install and then tells you to power of. Remove you sd card and you wont get this option so you can go into recovery and reflash a rom (you can re insert your sd card once in recovery and chose the mount option)
