Click all 4 corners in clockwise direction starting with the top left. If you do it correctly it'll close the screen.

I was given a Droid 2 for development purposes, and after a factory reset it requires me to activate the phone. When I do the call, it wants the phone number and billing info yet I don't have that info as the phone was given to me. Is there any way to get around this, so I can just use the phone and it's wi-fi to test apps?
That's odd. When I got my second D2 (which I just recently donated), it had been reset (SBFed actually) but never asked me to activate it. It just had to set it up and go. If you have ADB running you could try to force an SBF and see if that helps.

Thanks for the info. I'm worried that I won't be able to run RSDLite as I'm not seeing the phone through ADB. Is that how I should be forcing it to SBF?
You sure you have ADB set up properly and all the proper drivers were installed? Make sure SDK is properly set up too (and check your device manager with the D2 plugged in - it should show up as an ADB device).
And to answer your question, yes.
When u turn the phone on , on the android activation screen touch the top left corner, then the top right, then bottom right , then bottom left (above the buttons)
And that should make the activation go away

Amazing, thank you! I'm shocked something like that is in there but I'm certainly glad it is.

+1. This method always works. I've had one for months and not had to activate it.

Hi guys,
I'm not sure if there has been a thread about this already but I can't search the forum properly right now.
Anyway, lately I'm getting slightly annoyed by the back button on my sgs2 it seems to be less responsive and sonehow smaller than the menu key. Also it feels like I have to put more pressure on it. I'm currently on kg3 and I'm not sure if I had this problem before. A quick google search showed me I'm not the only one with this problem.
Could this be a software problem or is this more of a hardware problem?
Anyone else got this ?

I've got this too. I thought it was my imagination!

Same here bro, and i just got my phone 2 days ago. I even had the problem that sometime it will double click even when i just press once. I'm thinking of sending the phone back to Samsung to check, but i have already rooted my phone so I'll have to wait until I get the USB Jig to reset the flash counter back to 0 & unroot it before I can send it to the Samsung service center.
What kernel version are you guys runing?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I'm thinking Samsung intended to weaken the sensitivity of the back button so that accidental hitting of the back button would not easily register.
IMHO, its a good feature, after 2 months of using my SGS2, I've already accustomed of how to properly trigger the back button. You really need to hit the back button icon, hitting the surrounding glass around the icon won't trigger the back event.

Agree. Even the menu button is like this. You have to hit it dead center. I find the screen to to be very accurate meaning is you don't hit the icons in their proper borders it won't act.

I experienced this after I rooted and flashed a kernel (first it was the xwd something kernel). At first, my applications icon at the bottom right had a decreased in sensitivity, but somehow it went away in a couple of days.
Then it was the back button, which was so annoying because that button is used constantly. However, after a couple of days, it too went away. And it hasn't come back for 3 weeks. Currently I am flashed with ninphetamine latest version.

I have the double click issue too. Did you get it resolved by sending the phone in for replacement?
Hey guys Name is chubs aka chibixzero, You would normally will find me on the SGH-I777 Forums, But today I have a question My cousin gave me a droid X or x2 Don't Quite know for sure, He own me some money and I figure I activated for my GF or something. But turns out I can't activated because, How he puts it He's friend found it and gave it to him
So I decided to just make it into my Daughters play phone so she doesn't drop mine or whatever. Long Story short I wipe everything from the recovery and now Every time It boots says I have to activate it, Which obviously I cant
I can get into recovery (Not CMW) because is not rooted but Is there anyway I can root/fix get pass the activation screen via the Recovery?
I try searching but dont really know what to search for.

Try pressing the top left, top right, bottom right and then bottom left corners of the screen. (I believe thats the combination) this will.bypass the activation screen

This. Also, make sure you're pressing in the center black area at those points, and not on the status bar and buttons.
My Friend's N4 has developed a strange problem. The Soft buttons (Home, Back & Recent Apps) are not working when the phone is held in portrait orientation. However, they do work in landscape orientation.
He tested the touch screen with a multi touch tester app and found that there is no touch response at the lower portion of the screen exactly in that area that would get occupied by the soft button bar in portrait mode.
The phone is all stock. Non-rooted and bootloader is locked.
Anyone faced such an issue? Please help!
I have the exact same problem, as many other it seems. If i turn the phone clockwise, so that the back arrow/home/apps buttons are displayed where the signal bar is, the buttons work as ecpected; on the other hand, if i rotate the phone the opposite way, the buttons do not work.
It's curious because, as you can see from the partial screenshot below, the phone is rotated counter clockwise and i have swiped to test google now (you can see the dots near the back arrow). So i guess that means that some touch input is registered after all.
I'd like to make some test with those multitouch apps. Can you suggest one?

hello,
i sent mine for repair since it is still covered by the warranty. anyway, due to my post service ((, it will take some more days until i receive it. will keep you updated if anything has changed (hopefully for the better).
Hello I have the same problem!!
I have already did a full wipe and installed CM 11 and Paranoid Android but still facing the same issue!!! Any ideas?
Sounds like you have a hardware problem, you'll need to buy and replace the screen and digitizer assembly.

i have the exact same problem and my warantee expired. it seems most people have this prob after the warantee expires.
Check out the guide below and hopefully you can avoid replacing your nexus 4 screen or digitiser

A few days ago my knock on broke. I've changed Rome, kernels, and restored a stock backup to see if any of that was the problem and it still won't work. Then I noticed that a line of my my screen is not registering touches. If I swipe across the area it registers, just not to touch. I have a feeling that with a portion of the screen dead it is affecting the knock on feature. Can anyone attest to this or does anyone know what my next course of action might be to get knock on back. I have included a picture of lcd screen test to show which portion of the screen is not registering touch. Thanks in advance!

In having the same issue on my Sprint G2. Only just bought this device 3 days ago and knockon with the screen off stopped working. It works with the screen on in every launcher, but turn the screen off and nothing.
I'm thinking factory reset but I came here first because it still works with the screen on.
Oh yeah, what app ate you using to see the dead zones?
From my Sprint Spark LG G2...!
Defective sensor is causing the problem. Only option is to get a replacement.

Sometimes my G2 does not recognize knock on, when I tap on the screen too fast… but this is not related to any particular area of the screen.

The app is called lcd test or lcd screen test. Just an update. The dead zone is gone now and knock on works again. It is more than likely a hardware issue with digitizer and will probably come back, but for now I am getting my knock on.

Found the screen test earlier by rereading your post. Gonna turn Knockon back on to see if it comes back.
Thanks.

This is exactly what i'm experiencing!!! Same dead zone for tapping and no knock on! I submitted a service support ticket to LG earlier.

Mine is doing this and seems to be same zone. How I figured this out was by quick memo and drawing lines to figure out which spot does not registered. Now I'm just waiting on my replacement. This is just strange that 4 people are having the same problem on the same section of screen. And who knows how many more

Did anyone fix this issue?
I guess I'll be sending my phone to lg..
Posting from my LG G2 while driving an Evo IX.
As a temporary work around for the dead zone, I recommend installing the one handed xposed app (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-one-handed-mode-devices-t2735815) and toggling it to shift the screen down by 100 pixels. This allows you to move necessary buttons (such as the install button in google play) out of the dead zone temporarily.
I've sent my phone back to lg to have this corrected. Seems a little silly that I have to work around a dead spot on a new phone with less than two months of usage.
Sent from my Nexus 4, while driving in my Evo9.
Exactly same issue here on my vs980 with dead spot in exactly same place. Weird...

Okay folks. Knock-off works, but Knock-on doesn't.
Turn off the setting in the gestures menu. Reboot your phone. Turn on setting. Power button lock your phone.
Now tap screen firmly for one second then tap firmly again. (No quick tapping like you're trying to turn the screen off)
Say this out loud. (1.- 2.)
One dot, two dot.
The first touch has to be firm and for a solid 1 second.

Well it still doesn't work. Regrettably...
I have this same problem on mine now....
I wish we could figure out what is causing these issues....Has anyone flashed TOT back to stock ZVC to see if it takes care of the issue?
EDIT:
Fix For Me:
Since Sprint doesn't have the update touchscreen driver,
Goto: Device Test-->Individual Item-->Touch Draw Test - Auto
Draw the outline as close as you can (notice the touch screen works everywhere!) then press your power button.
It will ask you PASS FAIL - SELECT PASS! (trying again if only Fail - but it worked on fail too for me)
NEXT:
5689#*980# (From Dialer)
Goto: Device Test-->Individual Item-->Touch Draw Test - Manual
Draw the outline as close as you can (notice the touch screen works everywhere!) then press your power button.
It will ask you PASS RETRY FAIL - SELECT PASS!
Exit, your touchscreen should be responding now that was previously dead.
This worked on my Sprint G2!! First time the dead zone (btw, it's always the same region at upper half of the screen, compared to other people's screenshots) happened, I thought it was the running out storage space, because after I transferred some of the photos out, it worked again. This morning, same thing happened and I moved all my photos out, leaving 3Gb free space, but did not recover. Tried the update touch firmware method, not working, but this one worked (my Touch draw test auto actually failed), but still after the manual draw test and reboot, it worked.

Sadly, it kept happening to me and eventually the method I used stopped working. I sent the phone since it was under warranty to LG. They replaced screen and digitizer. Took care of issue permanently. Sorry for bad news, but it will prob get worse till you have to replace too. ?
