Anyway of getting Sense on this? - Galaxy S II General

I hate touchwiz, its damn awful and in my option looks like a cheap iOS rip of, anyway of getting a sense type theme on this?

Porting sense to this thing would be very, very hard. Maybe not possible.
If all you want is a sense theme, then just look in the theme section. I know there are some. You could also install cyanogenmod and use their theme engine.

AGILE LOCK - Gives you the SENSE 3 LOCKSCREEN
LAUNCHER PRO PLUS - with MIUI ICON PACK is a nice combo as well and launcher pro has most of the sense widgets

Sighs not another Sense thread. Maybe try using the search function to find one of the 1000000000 other people whining about Sense and post on those threads. Anyway if you like Sense so much you should've gotten a Sensation. If you don't like Touchwiz install a different launcher from the market and get a Sense theme.
The End!

[q] htc sense rom? Or launcher?

Hi, i am looking for something that can be in a ROM or a launcher for my droid x that is or like htc sense. I really want to go back to blur, but i stupidly messed up my framework.apk file waaaayyy to much and i dont know how to install a replacement framework apk file.
If you could tell me about a sense like ROM or launcher or even just some help with replacing the good o'l framework-res.apk file it would be soooo apreciated
P.S. im also a dev so feel free to PM me for a beta .apk file of a bluetooth chat app im working on
Would launcherpro be a sense like launcher?

no, im really looking for that lovely black notification bar and that classic dock. also if u have any suggestions it can also be like htc sense esspresso
I don't think there are any htc sense roms for the x, at least i haven't noticed... and if you want the black notification bar, just flash a rom as i think most have the black bar... and i guess use launcher pro and i think there may be a dock that looks like the htc sense dock.... (i think)

Hey there,
I am using Launcher Pro because is stable , fast , have some very useful widgets and nice customization options.
Cheers

For me, ADW Launcher ex is the best, because thre's a lot of themes and i feel it good !
Yeah ADW is nice, and the ROM your using is same as me so great choice ;P
so thanks for voicing your views

The only time I used it was the version you made, due to that bottom bar being way too oversized and hideous imo..
I didn't like the lack of any customization though so it didn't last long.
love ADW Laucher :x
GO Launcher EX with Suave theme. Simply beautiful. The wallpaper scroll/no-scroll option renders Wallpaper Wizardrii obsolete.

Custom User Interfaces

Ok, I really am not liking Sense UI anymore. I don't really like MIUI or Vanilla Gingerbread. I would like to know where to begin in creating my own custom user interface to run over Gingerbread. Or perhaps a simpler task would be porting over other user interfaces from Motorola and Samsung to run over Gingerbread.

Why not use go launcher or adw or launcher pro. They will replace sense...

Hmm, never thought about that. Nice idea. But I guess my main purpose in making this was to see if anyone has (and can help me) created my own custom UI. It'd be nice I guess.

First you would need to learn Java and C+ coding. Next I would learn Linux as android is Linux and you will need the knowledge to work on the UI.
Have a good look through the 'post your homescreen' thread. There's a wealth of inspiration in there. Have a look in the widget thread too.
Unless i'm wrong it's not the UI that you want to change as such, but what we'd call a Layout. For all intents and purposes it's the same thing. but UI is software whereas layout is graphical. End result being you want homescreens that look nice right?
Good Launcher+Good Widgets+Wallaper+Imagination and you'd be surprised how good you can make your device look. Some of what i see in the Homescreen thread are works of art!

Well, What I really want to do is make my own thing. I mean a couple of starter ideas,
- 6 basic home screens (in a cube shape) you can change when slid vertically or horizontally
- 2-4 (based on how many you want) "tabs" on the side of choice that can hold apps, home screens would mainly be for widgets, can also be used for apps though.
I don't know, Its just ideas I wanted to be able to put into my own UI. I think I may get into coding to make my own UI.
Check out an open source launcher, it will give you an idea of how to do crap, beyond whatever is in the API docs. I think ADW is open sourced.

I would start with flashing a non sense ROM. Thus you'll get rid of sense bloat and will get a stock standard launcher or any other customizable launcher. Just look through available Roms. Personally I'd recommend CM 7.

Launcher suggestions

Hey anyone have some nice ones they know of with nice themes? I refuse to use go launcher because it has a cluttered menu. I want simple like stock but fast and smooth and themed like ics or sense 4.0
Adw has very nice ics themes

you can change the app drawer between vertical and horizontal, or 4D. you can also change the background.
The Xperia Home launcher found in this rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675639
I was utterly amazed when I found this launcher on here.
I extracted it using Titanium Backup, Flashed MikG 3.11, installed Xperia Home and pushed to system apps.
This works very well in unison with the Car-O-Dope tweak as the launcher is quick and smooth to begin with.
I was looking for launchers like A month ago and someone recommended sslaincher and I have fell in love with it I use to be a go launcher Guy but sslaincher is the most customizable launcher you can pretty much make your home screens anyway you want them in any which way if you can imagine it you can do it

You'd have to use a launcher like go or adw and use a sense theme. Try the play store. Nexus is pure android with no overlays, for most people that's why it's so great
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
yeah i tried that, nothing comes even close
If you're using a cyanogen or aokp rom you can apply the sense theme. I thinks its just what you're looking for. It's not included nor free, but out there and working even though it gives you the error when applying.
