How to root my HTC magic

Hello!
I have htc magic from orange (PL). I want to root this phone, but I don't want to bricked it again.
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H

hy to all first of all sorry for posting in the wrong place i think my problem is that i have a htc magic 32a y cant rootit i instaled flashrec but when i try it it says unable to execute comand please somebody can help my thanks in advance

need help:after update official sence UI for htc magic,how to flash other roms

after update by RUU, the fastboot information are as below:
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.07.29
i can't get root,and also can't use recovery to flash other roms
can somebody help me?

OMG, what did you expect when you flashed this update ?
Try to search, there is already topics covering this matter so no need for duplicates.
And BTW, wrong section as well!

Problem with rooting
Hi, Im a newbie in android and I ve tried to root my phone using the one-click-rooting method but it does not seem to work. It kept on stating backup failed. I tried to install a new ROM straight away but it failed too.
My HTC Magic is the Malaysian version and it came with no Android Market.
I want a new ROM with the Android Market so badly.
These are my phone details.
SAPPHIRE PVT 32A SHIP S-ON H
HBOOT-1.76.0007 (SAPP10000)
CPLD-12
RADIO-6.35.07.29

Anybody with the same SPL as i do that was able to flash it?

can not root Hami htc magic..

I've tried some way to root magic in XDA.
but any one of them can't do that..
it's Hami htc magic and my friend's phone.

Try flashing back the stock SPL (S-OFF).

Problem fixed over gtalk :0)
But basicly follow this guide:

Just skip the goldcard + sappimg.zip parts since you allready got eng spl!
