Downloading
Downloading now, will revert after upgrade.

I am having two problems with the DFT ROM with this version 7714 and previous version, 7713.
Problems:
1) I downloaded and put in the password "www.dft.so", the rar file extract and then at the end I get 1 crc error with "wrong passord" on the FINAL.nbh file, but it still extracts and looks intact.
2) I went ahead and put my Tmobile US HD7 in boot rom mode (with HSPL) and flashed with the ROMUpdateUtility.exe. I kept getting stuck at certain percentage and had to recover by pulling the battery.
The above problems happened on both the DFT 7713 and 7714.
I have Windows7 X64. I tried it on X86 Windows 7 but still no luck with those two problems.
I would like to add that when I flash other ROM (i.e. Ansar's), I have no problem.
Please help.

I recommend that you dowload the file again. I just extracted mine without any CRC error. Although it looks ok you do in fact have a corrupt ROM image.

with the 7713 DFT rom, I downloaded it 4 times! CRC every single time. I downloaded one from my work and the other 3 times from home.
any other suggestions? I'll try downloading again.
All of my systems have Microsoft Security Essential anti-virus. Maybe that's the problem?

I'd just tried that before your suggestion. Tried the winrar 4.01 (x64 and x86). Still no luck. This is driving me nuts!
I guess I'll try to download with another browser instead of Firefox which got some add-ons (i.e. adblock)

normally , in the last few builds before rtm they take out debug software and enable futures that where disabled because developers don't use them

It is just me or this ROM is not Chevron unlocked or Jailbreaked like 7713?

Try downloading with download manager. i downloaded with IDM and dnt have any problem.

I have a feeling that the DFT team is incrementing the build. Not positive but 7713 and now 7714. I find it hard to believe that there are versions 7712, 7713 and 7714..

SuperJustKitchen v0.9 Released.
Go to my site: http://justkitchen.info to get the updates and the info. It takes to long to update every device's forum that is supported, and I plan to support all devices, eventually.
Word of warning:
Not all EXT's have been tested or modified for the every device. Please test test and test and then let me know which packages don't work and what YOU've done to fix them. (I don't have time to fix ALL of them by myself.) Some packages will only be compatible with some devices.
(I'm no longer updating each thread separately for each device but just updating my site and posting the release info here. I will only update each thread to say that a new version is out.)
**Warning**
Before using this kitchen, you MUST read the whole thread. Any questions that have been answered will be ignored. This is your only warning.
**Disclaimer**
I am not responsible for any damage that may be done to your phone with a ROM created in this kitchen.
I am not responsible for any damage done to your computer.
I am not responsible for anything... at all.

At the moment, this is an ENGLISH (WWE) only kitchen. This might change...
NOTE: In order for me to keep track of whether my time was well spent or wasted, if you use this kitchen to make a ROM, please either include SJK in the name or just mention that it was SJK cooked in your ROM's thread.
NOTE: This kitchen assumes that you know how to flash through SD, recover from a bad flash and are able to backtrack your steps to figure out how you broke your own ROM. If you do not understand these, please learn them first. Do not PM me asking me. I have written numerous walkthroughs on all these except on how to backtrack your steps. For that, just remember what you're doing as you do it and keep backups.
If you find any issues, PLEASE report them to the bug tracker in my website. It will help me make this kitchen better!
ENJOY!!!

same here...the final ROM when flashed says image corrupt
Same here all the rom file made by sjkv0.8 gives unflashable rom.
Something might be broken then. I changed the executable last minute. What size is the NBH you are all producing?
ivan the output nbh size is ok it seems for a lite rom it produces about 56mb and remember the one nbh u provided for testing is also having prob it says its corrupt.
help me...SJK won't cook
i cannot make it work...
i get an error while cooking about some files (ringtones) not able to be copied and then hangs.
i tried it on Windows7 and it says that the some payload.nb file is not found in temp folder.
gui-wise/appearance wise...this is the best kitchen ever!!
can someone please tell me where i went wrong? i download four files from the SJK website: ext package, sys package, opal package and the SJK package and extracted to the same folder.
Update:
v0.8.1 - Fixed unflashable ROM bug
Thanks ivan now finally i can use sjk v0.8 (now 0.8.1) after using sjk 7 for so long time.

last night, i cooked 3-4 times using different settings, compression, rom version but it still gives a flash write error for me
cooking works fine except for some errors regarding some *.wma ringtone files inside SYS/PhoneRedist folder not being able to be copied (i overcame them by deleting)
flashing goes upto 100% (i used RUU via the usb cable) but the device reboots and goes to tri-color screen and says Rom Code Error.
btw...do i have to re-download every thing (SYS, EXT, *device_specific*) and the SJK_0.*.* or just the single SJK_0.*.* file?????
+1 Exactly same result since v8 and above

No, if you already had the *_0.8 for all the files, just download the SJK_0.8.3. If you didn't have anything, download EVERY file that's not device specific and your device's file.
You're getting a flash write error?
Still error
what might be the problem????
flashing goes upto 100%, device reboots and goes to tri-color screen
and displays a "ROM CODE ERROR".
i tried all compression methods including UPX on EXT packages but same problem.

[Q] Have HD2 running windows, Want Android Help

Ok.....First I will admit I am new at all of this, second , I am a girl. Not that, that is a big deal but you get my drift. I have spent the last 24 hrs trying to find a good version of android 2.2 to install on my HTC HD2. I have tried quite a few versions, only one has installed that was the FroyoSense. However, none of my status lights worked, personal ringtones didn't work, picture preview didn't work. I create themes for the market and wanted to run android on this phone to help me out with my themes.....can anyone point me in the right direction? Thank you so much in advance.......that is if anyone is up as late as I am.... : )
Mickey
Hi Mickey,
The best builds I've used are NexusHD2 1.8 (if you want completely stock Android) and MDJ Froyo HD 4.6 (if you like the HTC Sense look). You will need to flash your HD2 using ActiveSync with a new '.50' radio. They can be found here (2.15.50.14 is the one I'm using). Without the new radio you'll be unable to boot.
I'm currently running MDJ Froyo HD 4.6 and it's quick and stable with pretty good battery life. I experience trouble with 'robot voice' when calling on NexusHD2, however everything else works just fine. Once you get a bit more confident you can have a play with custom kernels and whatever else.
To install one of these builds follow the link and download the package, then extract everything. I take the MicroSD out of my phone and use a card reader plugged into my PC to format the MicroSD FAT32. Quick format works fine for me. Then I copy the files into a folder called 'Android' (do not use all capitals) in the root of the SD card. Then boot into Windows, use file explorer to find your 'Android' folder and run CLRCAD.exe (nothing will happen - that's fine). Then run HARET.exe, click 'yes' when told about an unknown publisher, and it will proceed to boot you into Android.
First boot may take up to 10 minutes, as the device creates a virtual 'phone memory' for your apps and sets up the kernel. Once it's booted and at the lock screen, leave it for fifteen minutes. After fifteen minutes, unlock and power off your phone completely. Rinse and repeat the booting process, and your Android should be working perfectly.
I'll keep an eye on your thread in case you have other questions. Make sure you flash that radio first, or you'll be in all kinds of trouble.
Good luck!
Justin
This is exactly what ive been looking for Juzz. can you elaborate on activesync and the radio more? installation, etc? and that froyo work with gen. y? If not, whats a good dual boot?
Truaim,
ActiveSync isn't actually called ActiveSync anymore, it's Windows Mobile Device Center on Vista and Windows 7.
When you connect your HD2 running Windows to your computer with the USB cable, you are asked (on the phone) what kind of mode you want to select. ActiveSync is first, then USB Mass Storage, Internet Gateway etc. ActiveSync is the mode where you can update new firmwares, install HardSPL, and (if you use them) sync Outlook calendars, mail and contacts.
I am assuming you have HardSPL installed, which you use to flash custom Windows ROMs? It's not necessary (strictly speaking) for Android, but makes flashing radios easier. Let me know if you need me to cover that more.
Android on the HD2 only works with radios that follow the '2.xx.50.xx' format. They MUST have that .50 or you'll run into trouble. Flashing a new radio is just like flashing a new ROM. You download the installer, extract and run CustomRUU.exe, which launches the update process. Your phone needs to be in ActiveSync mode for this to work.
If you follow my previous link to the radio thread, you'll find all the .50 radios at the top. I'd go with the 2.15.50.14 radio first. Download it, connect your phone, unzip and run CustomRUU. Then follow the prompts. Your phone will do a few odd things, reboot and be running the new radio. It doesn't change Windows in any way, shape or form. It just updates your radio. You won't see any changes, except in the 'About' page where it lists the radio version.
Hope this helps!
Justin
Also, I run the 1.66.405.2 Generic WWE HTC Windows 6.5 ROM. I don't use any kind of bootloader (I'd rather be sure CLRCAD was run myself). There are a couple of stripped-down Windows ROMs floating around, but I find battery life isn't affected a whole lot by running a regular Windows ROM.
Cheers.
Just in case the radio package you get doesn't have CustomRUU...
The most recent stock ROM (3.14) is reported by many to be a very good ROM for running Android with. I use it myself and have had 0 issues. (It comes with radio 2.15.50, which is great for Android.)
It also means that, for once, my phone is in a perfectly "legit" state and I could send it off for repair without worry.
And I'm sorry, but there are no "best builds" for Android. The ones that are regularly updated are all running very well, so it depends what you want from it. I'd recommend ignoring recommendations and trying a few different ones yourself, as that's the only way you'll find what you like.
I bought my HD2 used, so I wont be sending it in. in fact, if it were possible id remove windows entirely. where can i see if i already have that radio installed?

Reboot your phone and look out for the info in the bottom left of the screen when you get the first white screen with HTC logo. The number next to R is the radio version you have.
My radio is currently 2.8.50.08... is this compatible with mdj sense 4.6 suggested above?
Should be fine mate. Give it a whirl.
Good luck!
my radio is 2.05.51
will this work or do i need to go back to 2.xx.50 ?

It is stated all over the forums that you need at least 2.08.50 (don't use a .51 radio).

From opening up the rar, the file mentions:
"US_TMO_SIGNED"
Is there a different ROM for each US carrier?
In other words, the Venue Pro appears to be sold in the US only as an unlocked device, but there is a version for AT&T bands and a version for T-Mobile bands. Is the ROM the same for both, so this would work for both?

So is this ROM the missing link we needed to hack the DVP or do we gain nothing lol
We need a full image dump and not a backup file. And yeah. This is likely the only way to hack the phone.

does anyone have the image file and can post it to a standard upload service (mediafire, fileserve, etc.). webseraph where did the link go?
I've got it saved on my computer at home, I can reupload it later tonight if people still need it by the time I get home. It came with a bunch of Eastern-language files, Chinese or Japanese I believe, old versions of x86 Zune software, old versions of x86 drivers, and the .ffu file.
Since I believe the .ffu is the ROM itself (hopefully not a backup, I don't know much about this stuff and my Dell Venue Pro that I decided to order is still with Fedex), I'll just upload that, and anything else can be sourced at a million other locations.
Thanks ! !

It'll be nice to have a look at it anyways, thank you sooooo much !
Can you upload the file somewhere? I would like to disect it.
Here's a repost of only the .ffu from the original post:
http://www.multiupload.com/5YT27EHLZV
The original rar also contained instructions in Chinese, plus other folders:
1 start, which included the VC redist files
2 Zune 4.7, (x86 only)
3 ZuneDesktop UpdateTool 1404, (x86 only)
4 Tool FFU _FinalCheck_CheckPVK, which I believe is just a wrapper to run the UpdateWP.exe command I mention below. If anyone wants this folder too, let me know.
5 FFU-Deploy, which contained only the .ffu file I zipped up and reposted.
From my brief research into the matter, it appears that you can use Zune 4.7 with an older UpdateWP.exe with the following command:
UpdateWP.exe /ffu <filename>
Zune 4.7 and the older UpdateWP.exe are available all over so I didn't bother uploading those.
Machine translation of instruction file:
Brush process
Computer system XP SP3 (win7 system similar)
By folder order in 1234 to install
A: Click the folder to install the three files in 1 start
B: Download and install this zune4.7 me
C: install about 3 ZuneDesktop UpdateTool 1404 folder in the Setup-UpdateWP-x86.exe
D: Open the folder 4 Tool FFU _FinalCheck_CheckPVK in the file FFUDownload_ShareU.exe,
Tap Browse, find the 5 FFU-Deploy folder of the Rom file
Then began to brush machine,
1 cell phone off, remove the battery

3 Wait a moment, the computer will automatically find the drivers. (Note to zune off, preferably in the Task Manager in the zune process off)
4 drive automatically installed after the point about brush machine software in the download, and then will begin to brush machine, brush machine program into the background of green.

Actually, can you upload the whole original .rar cause I can read chinese and want to flash my phone anyways cause its bricked so I just want to see if this will help and it looks like i need the whole package in order to do so ^^
The FFU works. It is 7704 and it is amazing how much Windows Phone 7 has advanced. Now the trick is to find a way to install an exploit before Mango that sets the interop unlock at every boot or something and then find a way to restore a backup. I am not really sure how the backup/restore process works. It did require me have the latest updates before restoring so it is possible it just restores non /windows files and folders. So if we can find something in the system that can provision the provxml files then we are golden. The problem is I have no idea what would do that in the system. If you dare to do what I just did, make sure you have a back up and a backup of that backup stored elsewhere as you never know if zune will delete your backup.

[Q] Issues with updating DVP from 7720 to 8773 !?

Sup everyone,
I finally got around to updating my TMO DVP. It's been stuck on 7720 this whole time and want to bring it up to Tango.
My question is: what exactly are the steps to upgrading???
Here are the threads I'm trying to follow in order:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103011
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497142&nocache=1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736993
From what I understand it:
Install Windows Phone Support Tool
Install WP7 Backup 1.6
Install WP7 Update Cab Sender
Then???
I don't get it. I've installed WP Support tools which doesn't make sense. I have Win7-64bit. The downloads available are x86 or amd64. My computer is intel based, so which do I use? x86 doesn't install, makes sense. I installed amd64.
My next problem is, are there different versions of WP Support Tools? My Zune is up-to-date 4.8.2345.
After installing WP Support Tools:
WPSupportTools.exe is version 0.0.0.0, date modified 4/1/11
UpdateWP.exe is version 6.1.7600.16385 date modified 4/1/11
Microsoft.WindowsMobile.DeviceUpdate.dll is version 4.7.1404.3 date modified 4/1/11
When I run WP Support Tool, I get:
UpdateWP version 4.7.1404
Error: The installed version of the tool (4.7.1404) needs to be updated to match the Zune version (4.8.2345). Please install the tool version 4.8.2345.

Log from when I got somewhere and nothing happened.
I've uninstalled and deleted everything. If anyone can help me out from square one it'd be much appreciated.

It's been a while since I did this. But you did right, AMD64 is correct. And try the file I attached as that's the newest version to match your Zune software. Let us know if you run into anything :good:
(and no, I didn't create the file. I just have it archived from a working cab sender upgrade so credits go to the original poster)
Ok,.
So I installed WP Support Tools.
Copied the files you gave into the Zune directory.
Copied WP7 Backup 1.6 into the Zune directory.
Tried running a backup.
Attached is the error message I got.
I tried the cmd method and that gave the same error.

I ran into this issue too.
First question: Is your Zune install in the default location? The support tool installer seems kind of... stupid. It always installs in \Program Files\Zune even if Zune isn't actually installed there. You can copy the files from that location to wherever Zune is installed, if not. Be careful of overwrites.
Next question (really the important one, but the question above can be the reason for the problem): Is there a file called wm7updatelib.dll, or similar, in the folder with your UpdateWP.exe? If so, is it the same version (exactly, down to the build number)? If not, you may need to re-install the support tool (I suggest uninstalling it first, using appwiz.cpl).

Looking at this post.
I have wm7update.dll (not wm7updatelib.dll). It is file version 1.0.0.1 /product version 7.0.0.0.
Can you post the right library file?
Thanks
-
Attached are a list of my files and versions in Zune folder. (Ignore the dual Microsoft and UpdateWP, I just added garbage text to the originals)
Backing up now.
Copied the files attached.
wm7update.dll
Interop.wm7updatelib.dll
Interop.ZuneWmdulib.dll

Good work Glad to see you figured it out. Might want to share your experience if you ran into specific problems in case others have it?
Thanks.
All it was, was making sure I had the right file versions for the right files. Those of which I posted above.

I've just update to 8773 myself as well. However, I want to ask you a question: whether we could re-write the firmware version also? My OS version is 7.10.8773.98, but firmware is 2250.1800.7720.219.
No idea. I noticed that too, but haven't seen anything about it just yet.

Yeah, maybe it's not necessary enough for us to consider that. However, I just noticed that while updating via Zune, this firmware version string is changed, but not with CAB sender. So, I just guess there might be a way to do it by ourselves too!
please note that the firmware package contains the bootloader drivers etc.etc.
Dell will probably not update those any more. The latest o.s. updates are provided by microsoft and they don't include any drivers whatsoever.
As long as the OS version is the most recent, you're good.

[Q] error 80180008 help how to cab

Hello all. I am very sorry to bother you all but I have been trying to upgrade my phone for the last 4 months and have almost given up. I saw the film about noods and really left it to the last resort! have an OMNIA 7 on:
7.10.7740.16 trying to go to 8107 for now but would like to go to windows 7.8 if possible
Fimware: 2424.11.112
Boot loader 6.4.09
I tired Zune: got error 80180008
Asked Microsoft: no help
Read forums and tried cab sender to send 8107 (+ languages) by Heathcliff: got same error but now know a bit more helphowto.cab.pkr ERROR CODE: 0x80180008 invalid signature ) (. (thanks Heathcliff!)
Tried sending firmaware: worked!
Tried sending just language packs (got 6 on my phone) only partial loaded to 7.10.8099
I Read more on forum: tried sending certificates to phone by e-mail. Tried installing various certificates on computer. Tried sending a previous help how to cab (from previous O.S. cab via e-mail to phone (thought it might be missing). Tried partial unlock but, as expected, did nothing.
After reading more on this site, I have seen that the certificates have expired on the CAB files (downloaded from "force ugrade") and so guess it has nothing to do with phone or windows (tried windows xp, vista and 7 ultimate). Asking for a new cert. seems like playing tomb raider to me.

Phone works OK except for key board drop so it is not the end of the world I guess. As a last chance I would be to try seven eighter. I have seen that some people even stuck on 7720 have been able to upgrade. However, In one thread you said we can’t roll back. Another one you said it SHOULD be possible to burn a back up back to the phone.
I have seen other questions on ths and other forums about error 8018008 but I have not found an answer that helps.
I Know it is my problem but if someone could find the time to help to answer these questions:
1. to burn a back up back to the phone, will cab sender work ? I have read that zune does not.is there another tool? The tool heathcliff mentioned, does not work with the latest version zune.
2. I have seen other people on 7720 been able to go to 7.8 with seven eighter but I have seen they have had someproblems (I think mainly due to wrong language pack selection issues)-. Do you think it would work for me even if I get this error? If there was not a problem of rolling back I wold gve it a go.
3. Is there something else I can do (except buy a new phone)
Thanks and sorry if this is in the wrong place or I have broken any rules un- intentionally !

Hi,
If you want 7.8, switch to custom rom => look at my signature.

Thanks I will read carefully and let you know. However, If I understand correctly though, the Magldr software unlocks my phone so I can load the immage ROM?
The only other doubt I have is about the memory on my phone. the Samsung site says nothing but an test report I found in WINDOSTECA says it should have 576mb RAM and 512MB ROM. Any one know if it is valid and if it is enough?......also where is the thanks button?
thanks again Misterxp
Yes Magldr unlocks your phone. Samsung omnia 7 as 512Mo of RAM and 8Go of memory, that's enough to install a custom rom.
512MB ROM is the size of the Rom (thus the system). This size can vary depending on the rom.
Thanks Button => http://i70.servimg.com/u/f70/17/66/30/68/captur14.png
problem solved
yippeeeeee
I solved the problem!
I decided that if flashing a custom ROM would solve it then so would flashing the official ROM. Hence I read all I could about official Samsung ROMS, chose the one which was not so old "I8700XXKC1_Many_PROVIDERS_NODO (7.10.7390), Chose the CSC for Italy because I live in Italy and then woke up one morning and went for it.
I followed all the instructions to the letter but had read them 100 times before! I formated the phone holding the Power + Volume DOWN + Camera buttons, followed the instructions in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=973420 by Heathcliff and then, after all was done (went very smoothly, I connected to Zune and went all the way to 7.8. I had to cancel the update a couple of times because zune blocked but all went well in the end.
In between updates, I changed the names of the back up folder, so that zune created another in case I had to go back. I made this a habit in the past and meant I was sure I Always had a back up. (sometimes zune will cancel a backup if the process does not go correctly and, if you don't save back ups you end up with no back up!). When I finally got to 7.8 I used CAB SENDER to send an old CAB which I knew could not be installed and in that way I got a back up of my final version with all my apps installed. I did this because, once there are no more updates, zune does not install anything and so does not make a back up either. It is the easest way I have found but there may be another, I tried the various back up programmes but could never get them to work. I don't think my way does any harm to the phone but some one else more expert than me might know. The main thing I learnt is how important it is to have a back up and save the back up. It saved me a few times. Once, when trying other ways to fix the phone, I tried to restore with zune, but it kept giving an error. However, I managed with CAB SENDER. Once, another time, I got as far as 18% and even Cab sender kept giving an error. I took out the battery and waited a few minutes (before shooting my self!) and it worked! Anyway, thanks to you all at Xda and I will send a donation as soon as I get the chance to load Paypal. bye from Mister Xp
