Have a battery widget app, would like to have it modded so that the battery history button calls the BetterBatteryStats app thats available here.
Tried to do it myself, but the app wont install.
Can provide the apk upon request to be modded.
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Not sure if this is possible in Android but, can you kill/exit for good an android app?
I keep using Adv Task Killer but the damn apps keep on restarting after killed...can anyone advise? Its driving me nuts! I liked that tweak in winmo where you long press x and the program is gone for good.
Thanks for enlightening me!

No one knows the solution?
Startup Auditor
I donwnloaded a program called Startup Auditor from the market. It will allow you to disable a program on startup and keep it diabled.
I also deleted the Footprints app (useless) by getting the root explorer app (costs money) that will allow you to delete the app. This is the only explorer I have found that will let you uninstall pre-installed apps.
**BE CAREFUL** removing some apps like Friendstream, mail, messages, etc could mess up your phone, because they are tied into the system.
Google it thats how I figured it out.
Search in market for developer "Gpc". They have a tool called SuperManager for free with great functions such as Root Explorer. In market you will find it with a desktopsymbol icon and japanese letters! no worrys.. whole app can be set to english :d Second entry i think if you search for Gpc. No need to pay for rootexplorer root/data/app/ think there are the apps like footprints you want to deinstall/delete
attached it

This always happens, the easiest way to do it is just to go the manage application in the settings and force the close, the app should not restart after this regardless what the task killer says. Some apps will restart too if you have background data on within the background.
Hope this helps.
I use autostarts. Its capable of stopping the app from loading during boot, and you can block recurring starts through the options. Easy to use. Click on app then disable. It will boot if you run the app, but will not autorun on startup.
You should NOT USE any app killers the are bad for the battery and the memory dont even install them. Next time you update or change your build leave the app killers out like the DEV intended or they would have added 1 for you
Stop looking at the running apps list. Problem solved. If them sitting in that list worries you then uninstall the app. Android isn't winmo, having apps sitting in that list is nothing to worry about.
So I'm on MIui and for the past 4 weeks I've been receiving approx 1 "spam" message a week which appears in the header of my screen.
It's a little bit annoying, and obviously, I'd like to get rid of them given a choice.
I've attached a screenshot showing the issue.
Is there any advice on how I can stop this spam message being received in the future please?
A cursory google search and an xda search has revealed no obvious answers
Thanks in advance
Looks like you have downloaded an app with airpush advertising, at least I think its called airpush anyway.
There is an app you can download that will tell you which app is the culprit or alternatively there is an opt out app that you can download.
I had the same problem after downloading a youtube downloader so I know how annoying it is
I'll check it up and get back to you.
thanks
appreciate you taking the time.
It's annoying!
http://newbwired.com/2011/06/10/removing-airpush-from-your-android-device/
seems to have solved it for me - a beautiful widgets addon seems to have possibly caused the problem? I say uninstall to that, see what the impact will be over the next week.
Thanks ponk2k for giving me the spark I needed to potentially solve this case.
Yep, it is airpush. You can get either airpush detector or add-on detector in the market which will show you which app is causing the notification bar spam aand give you the option of deleting it or else google airpush opt out to keep the app but rid yourself of the ads
I expect you've already found it, but I used this app to find the culprit when I had airpush problems:
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.brosmike.airpushdetector
The Airpush Opt Out app doesn't seem to be available any more.
Dont forget guys that MIUI builds adds into the roms so it may not be just an app.
I asked in the Must Have Apps thread but never got an answer. Figured a thread would get more attention.
Is there any app for managing applications? Like their notification and sync settings.
Like disabling getting a notification every time I take a screen shot, or preventing a certain app from syncing unless I'm on WiFi.
I don't have root. I figured Juice Defender could help with the sync settings. But what about notifications?

You're in luck, this popped up a little while ago: http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...ively-banish-apps-from-your-notification-bar/
Should help with the notifications, or if you want better control as to what runs in the background, give this a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
And, of course, if you also want to get rid of ads AdAway is a must, but it got taken down from the Playstore, so you have to Google it.

ROM Toolbox Pro is the must have app. It does what 20 other standalone apps do, including managing app notifications, startup triggers, etc. Comes in real handy when you don't want programs starting up on boot or sending usage info.
Greenify , a nice way to keep rooted device running smooth and lag free
I really tried to look to see if there is an answer/app for this but no luck. Basically is there an app that will automatically freeze and defrost an app depending on some sort of time cycle? Basically I want to freeze apps like Viber, and have my phone automatically wake them every so often to check to see if I have any messages?
I currently use Greenify and Titanium Backup but that either hibernates apps or freezes/defrosts them.
I wonder if I could use Tasker for this but I am not very family with that app at all.
Appreciate any help.
Thanks!
I haven't seen any application's that do this but its very possible someone has. Tasker sounds like an app that would accomplish this. You should ask in the tasker thread to see if anyone has created such function.

Need some help. I've installed a speedometer app (switch that lights up the console in my truck went bad) and am having trouble getting rid of the icons in the app drawer. So far I've tried to reinstall the app and uninstall it with no luck. It doesn't show up in titanium after uninstalling the app. I can't find an apk after uninstalling the app. Any help?
What app? Can you back into the play store and install it that way?

Sorry. Forgot details. Locked bootloader, rooted running gpe ROM thru safestrap. Digihud speedometer is the app spedo app
I could upgrade nova launcher or use another launcher to hide the problem. And I would go insane knowing I didn't fix it.

Interesting app, it looks cool but it really f'd up my device. I could uninstall it with tibu but it left something behind. Do you have a nandroid you can restore? Do a wipe before restoring the nandroid. That was the only way I got my device back to normal

Well ****.
Hi, developer here
Hi guys, ok this is something I've not seen whilst testing it on the few physical devices I have and in the emulator. I'm not sure what's happening here but obviously I'm keen to help if I can.
The app has two main parts, the full screen display and a windowed view that is shown in front of other apps, the latter runs as a service. Both parts have settings in the manifest to enable them to be launched from icons and two icons are created when the app is installed. Whenever I've uninstalled the app both icons have been removed from the app drawer. My devices are mostly but not all rooted.
Feedback has been mixed about whether two icons are needed; some people don't want the window icon and ask how it can be removed, others like it so they can call it with other apps like AutomateIt. Because the majority of feedback was against it I've removed it from the paid version of the app...but now there are requests to have it again. Hopefully my solution will be to be able to install a shortcut if required.
Sorry, back to your problem! I'm surprised TIBU doesn't remove it if I'm honest, although the Android uninstall should remove it all. There's nothing unusual or malicious in the code (i'm really not that clever!) to prevent it uninstalling.
If a link to a particular version of the .apk helps let me know and I'll post it if I can.
I'll do some more testing and see what I can find and post anything useful here.
Sorry for the hassle.
James
Would a catlog help in troubleshooting the issue. As JD said it is an interesting app. The HUD display works great (very clever idea there), but I want to be able to remove that icon. I like to keep my app drawer paired down to as few apps as possible and that one icon sticks out to me.

I totally understand. The logcat may well help me see what's up.
Thanks.
