Fission Atrix Alpha 1 - Atrix 4G General

I didn't see anyone post this, since most people forgot AngDroid developing for the Atrix.
Vanilla + Motoblur
http://teamdefuse.com/
Fission Atrix Alpha 1
This ROM is a combo of Vanilla Android and OEM Moto ROM. Vanilla Android interface with Moto base. When the bugs are worked out all docks and hardware will function properly and have plain android interface.
Remember this is an Alpha ROM and it is based on the same concept as Fission for the DX and D2 (will try to get to them after Fission Atrix is more along the way).
You must be on stock ROM with root and unlock. Please check RootzWiki or XDA on how to unlock.
You should wipe cache and data.
This is only a preview build while I work out the dialer bug and market bug. If you would like to test other functions and report back that would be great. Will save me time which I have little of right now and help with the ROM getting closer out of beta.
Bugs
Dialer crashes when placing or recieving call.
Market Apps do not install.
What needs to get done.

I was waiting for this to fill us in until we got Cyanogenmod...but now we have Cyanogenmod.

I love that we're getting roms like this so we can have ice cream sandwich support.

[Q] Best CM7 build

Idk if this as been asked yet or not but I was wondering which was the most stable build so far that every feature works or almost every feature. Ex. ffc, video, wifi, qik etc. (like the features that works as if it were stock)
Thanks in advance
P.S. Thanks to all the dev/dev teams for all they do cuz of all of ya I think I'll never go back to the Iphone EVER!! ANDRIOD ROCKS!!!
There isn't really a good answer for this yet. They change every night. FFC isn't a rom issue either, its a per app issue. The way the devs wrote their apps for 2.2 was wrong, therefore imposable to function in 2.3. The devs have all been emailed by members of the CM team asking them to fix, but only tango has updated to support gingerbread correctly.
The "best" CM7 build? As you've defined "best" there is no single answer.
Some might tell you to wait for the first Release Candidate -- the first beta, prior to Release.
Some might tell you to wait for the Release.
Some might tell you to stick with a recent nightly build, watching the thread in the development subforum for hints on recently discovered issues that might cause you concern, or the advent of newly deployed features and functions that are of interest to you.
Be aware that the ROM is effectively an Android distribution -- developed to run on many different hardware devices, each with its unique requirements. The HTC Glacier is only one of many.
Quick question, does the gps work in cm7? I'm running the newest build (just flashed today) and everything seems to work except gps. Then again I'm in my apartment and haven't been outside to test.
EDIT: Disregard my question.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
It usually does, it was broken in the last nightly. The devs are aware of the issue and it should be resolved soon.
thx will try it
#40 has been tagged as Release Candidate 1. Look for RC1 at the teamdouche download mirror. GPS issue appears to be resolved.
HTC Glacier CM7 RC1
So they just released CM7 rc1 just as I was about to install CM6 rc2. My question is...
Should I get cm7 or cm6 rc2?? Im a noob to this thing but I have been reading a whole lot &i am aware that they are all a work in progress. Im not looking to overclock nor constantly try custom roms & all. Id jus like to give one of cm roms a try, but ine that will allow me to still use my gps, tango & my other 3rd party apps.
This may help you decide, and of course you may install either:

Note that CM7 is Android 2.3 -- this makes one additional complication -- you need the right version of ClockworkMod Recovery for system image backup/restore (Nandroid backups) and the flashing of ROMs and related software. 2.x is for Android 2.2 ROMs (Stock, CM6, IG, etc) and 3.x is for Android 2.3 ROMs (CM7, GingerCracked). Make sure you do your backups and restores and flashes with the right version.
Option94 has created a unique version of ClockworkMod Recovery that can support both versions of Android: 3.0.0.6:

Thanks. I did read that the ClockworkMod Recovery is different for CM7. I'm gonna watch the official thread for CM7 RC1 & then decide

Netflix on Gingersense ROMs (Discussion and hoping for a fix)

Since there was no unified thread for this, I created one.
As everyone knows, Netflix is working on the Evo, but only on CM7 and Froyo Sense ROMs.
Those of us with the gingerbread sense (1, 2 or 3) ROMs don't have working Netflix.
I have been reading through the various ROM's threads and it seems that we don't really know what is going on. The app makes it as far as the loading/buffering screen before turning completely white and then goes back to the app home screen.
So I create this thread with 2 purposes
-to keep a central thread that all Evo owners can discuss the issue
-to attempt to find out what is wrong
-to hopefully fix a workaround/fix.
I know we can simply switch to CM7 or rollback to 2.2, but I really like having GB with sense and I'm sure others agree with me.
I agree, On all the Gingersense roms I've tried it does the same thing.
Virus has it fixed for the upcoming beta of his kingdom port.
Sent from my Nexus S using Tapatalk
i dont know if this has been said but virus kingdom rom's next update will have netflix.... should be ported to all other roms right after iam sure....
Does anyone know what the specific issue is?
It is it something that can be fix via flashable zip or does it require significant changes that necessitate a complete ROM flash?
Does anyone know what the fix is or does?
I'd like to try it out and if possible, make it usable on all ROMs, so we don't have to rely on his ROM (not that there is anything wrong with his ROM).
netflix on 2.3.4
Netflix is working on my Evo and I'm running deck's 1.2c, which I believe is 2.3.4 . I'm don't remember re-downloading netflix when i flashed 2.3.4 because I came from mikfroyo's 4.62 . I used TB to restore and it works just fine.

Do u know the ETA for the upcoming beta?
It seems that Virus isn't releasing a ROM with it fixed.
Does anyone at least know why it doesn't work?
There doesn't seem to be much details on this. Virus said that it was too buggy to be released, but details would be nice.
I just installed gingersense b4 yesterday and went to download Netflix and it isn't even coming up in the market

I believe netflix took the app off the market so you won't find it there.
Netflix will post an updated version, so its best just to wait, or run an asop ROM if you can't.

[Q] [REQUEST] Android 2.3.5 on G2

Hey all,
I've been dying to have a fantastic essentially stock (real) gingerbread ROM for the G2. While the OTA update is pretty good, it still is missing a few key aspects of what gingerbread should be - blinking LED notifications, the CRT screen turning off effect, a bunch of other stuff. I just recently threw android onto my mother's HD2 Leo, and put this ROM on there. Stock, obviously rooted, with a bunch of awesome features that you can see in the link there. It is FANTASTIC. Probably the best ROM I have ever dealt with.
I guess what I am looking for is a Gingerbread AOSP stock that is currently on the Nexus One - (2.3.5 Gingerbread)
I would love to see a rom identical to this on the G2! Does anyone know of a rom available for the G2 like this?
Or, even better, would someone like to help me figure out how to port this ROM to the g2?
Cheers all
- D
You could try CyanogenMod 7.1-RC1, it has all the features you said you wanted. It does use ADW.launcher, but you can install the stock launcher by following the instructions here.
CM is actually pretty good - my issue is that the look, feel, and operation is nothing like stock gingerbread! I really want something like the stock AOSP Gingerbread Nexus One rom.
EDIT - Hey! One hundred posts!
Cm 7.1 isn't 2.3.5. U need to install the latest nightly. Have a new rom to install every morning is not only exciting, u get new features as they are implemented. What are u talking about CM not being like stock ginger? It IS aosp gingerbread. The true android with zero carrier additions or overlays. You must be confused as to what stock ginger is. Also, get rid of adw the second you install ginger. Adw is a piece of garbage that brings CM WAY down. First thing I always do is search gingerbread launcher in the market and install the real stock ginger launcher. Then your experience will be perfect

Ah - I think that adw launcher is what turned me off of it! I'll give it a go there.
Use the stock launcher, and CM7 is exactly what you want.

This. I've been running a stock GB launcher on CM7 for months now. Check the thread in my sig for it.
I used cyanogen's latest nightly (2.3.5) then xboarder56's converter. Works like a charm!

I Have a Question About Flashing a ROM

I have a Droid X that's rooted but It's on the stock Froyo. I want to flash it to a custom ROM but I don't know how I go about this.
Right Now I can't Decide if I want CM7, Justice, Liberty GB, or Liquid. What's the best one to go too? I care about speed, battery life & awesome features.
Should I upgrade to gingerbread?

I would say go to gingerbread, just because it is the most update version and imo better than Froyo. Most all of the roms have great speed, as far a batery life and features tho ehhhh lol 1 of the 2 will have to be compensated by another basically meaning.
For instance, Liquid and CM7 has tons and tons of customization's about anything you would want to customize you can with those roms, yet due to so many customization features more data is on the rom which compensates the battery life.
Liberty doesn't have as many custom features yet the battery life is superior to Liquid and CM7.
So its all a matter of your personal preferences. I am currently on Liquid 3.0 I also have my phone underclocked and I have been on my phone uncharged for 17hrs with 50% battery still left. I love this rom, thinkin about checkin out the new Liberty or the Shuji rom by Mobile Sensei. After a few days and some more reviews by others.
Speaking of amazing battery life Mobile Sensei is the master of that had ICX by Sensei and could easily get 35 hours off the charger with no problem. Yet rom did not have really any custom options. As I said give and take.
As far as flashing a custom rom. You will definitely need Droid 2 Bootstrap by Koush from the market I think its 2.99, so you can go ahead and download that now. Also as far as flashing a rom I would suggest you visit droidmodderx.com or visit his youtube (just search droidmodderx). This guy Shane is amazing and can show you better than I can tell you how to load a rom. This guy does actual tutorials on how to load a custom rom. So definitely definitely visit one of his sites and you will be good to go (you can download roms from his website as well). You can actually go step by step on your phone loading the rom while you are watching the tutorial on your computer. Decreases the probability of errors.
Hope this helps guy.
Thanks Alot! I'll check out his site & comeback with an update. You helped alot.

Good post with good info!
I just want to add that the d2 bootstrapper is available to download somewhere on the forums, so make sure you take a look around. I downloaded it from here when first flashing CM7.
Also, most if not all of your questions have already been answered somewhere, so check the stickies, and use the search. If you cant find anything close to an answer you need, feel free to ask!

I flashed it to .602 GB to move up to the recent roms but I like it how it is right now. I was wondering can I put t-mobile theme engine without CM7?
I went from GB back down to Froyo and put Darkslide on my DX.

Not sure if I'm understanding your question. But if a theme is built specifically for whatever type of rom you are on the yeah it shouldn't be a problem. If you are running a a Shuji rom i doubt that a theme for the CM7 rom would work on it.
Ok Cyanogenmod 7 has a T-mobile theme engine built in the rom. I was asking is there a way I can install that T-mobile theme engine onto the stock GB .602 rom?

I'm not sure about the Tmobile theme engine, but, in my opinion, MIUI has a FAR superior themeing system.
MIUI's theme manager offers control of just about every themeing aspect of the device.

I think I might have to flash over to that, I flash to the Liquid Smooth 3.0 rom & my dailer force close as soon as my phone boots up, whenever i receive a call or try to dail out.. It's the only problem I'm having with this ROM

ICS v. Sense

I know it's like comparing apples to oranges, but how do you guys feel about the current development behind the ICS ROMs v. Sense (I've namely looked into The Classic 1.0 and DigitalKarma's Heaven "Sense4 meets Sense1" so far).
I haven't played around with Sense at all since rooting my phone back in September when I flashed CM7. Currently, I have jmztaylor's unofficial CM9 ICS ROM (5-10 stable build, I believe) on my phone and I'm liking it. However, I mainly hopped over to CM in order to get rid of the bloatware, thus increasing my battery life while at college (where I got awful service). Now that I've graduated, I'm home, working, and best off all, I have great service again.
That being said, I've been thinking about trying out a Sense based ROM again but can't decide if I should stick with ICS or not.
Thoughts? Opinions on any and all of the ROMs pertaining to ICS and Sense are appreciated.
I apologize. I only searched the General forum when seeing if this has been asked before, but I just found this on the Q&A forum.
Input is still more than welcome here, as my topic is a little more specified and I'd like to have reasoning behind the input too. But I'll continue reading that thread as well.
I personally love jmz's cm9 rom. Sense does offer 4g and Netflix and camcorder but it usually looks annoying and is pretty slow. Cm9 is smooth and fast with no annoying colors. I can't wait for a more stable version of sense 4 for the og evo.

i need help
ok my problem is that i flashed MazWoz b5 which is ics 4.0.3 now when i flash back to ginger bread nothing works right either wont get texting or google play wont load the last problem was that when i download an app to install as soon as it finishes and goes to install it reboots. i did it all i wiped everything but sd card i flashed the roms and if the dev had kernels with it i flashed them as well i then load up and still get errors i have no clue on what is happening.
i am using smelkusmod v4.1 recovery could this be the issue i have an ext 3 as well
Flashed Classic earlier to give it a shot. Sense just feels so incredibly foreign to me now so I decided to revert back to ICS at least for the weekend. After that, I may give Sense another go around.
This time with ICS, I'm giving MIUI a shot since I've been on CM (7 and then 9) since I originally rooted.
All feedback is still welcome, because eventually I'll probably end up trying more to see what feels the best for me.
both jmz's and mazda's cm9's have been stable for me...but seeing mazda's is based off of jmz's it makes sense. aokp has been stable at times with certain builds but i have to admit that i was never had the same results after reflashing at times

Partition your SD card
bump it to ext3
then to ext4 (for aosp and ics ONLY!)
wipe all except SDcard 3 times
then install
I recommend Mazdariders23 CM9 ROM: http://changelogs.tincandroid.com/CM9.html
(Btw mazwoz is now b6)
I also recommend this kernel: http://goo.im/devs/atyoung/Mason-RC/Mason-EI-0.1.5-RC5-sbc-supersonic-signed.zip (thats for cm9 only)
here is for all ICS ROMs: http://goo.im/devs/atyoung/Mason-RC/Mason-I-d15rc4-sbc-fso-supersonic-signed.zip
smelkusmod is now version 3: http://d-h.st/users/smelkus/?fld_id=1930#files
I had to unroot my phone last week to get a replacement I was on jmz cm9 before he left and came back. I didn't miss not being able to record video but now that I'm too lazy to reroot. I'm stuck on sense and I finally tried Netflix and been recording videos more. I still like ICS but I will stick to stock until my next phone.
