MIUI/CM7 FFC Camera

Can anyone help or tell me why the MIUI and CM7 front facing camera like mirror flips pictures ? Sense roms dont do it, it takes just what you are viewing. Only AOSP roms flip it.

If your CM7 FFC is not working well, try updating the kernel......
There is some problems with the cam on MIUI, lets hope then to rectify in the new updates....

Is there a better camera that will work with nightlys?

I know there are a few that use the MIUI camera. There's plenty of posts about that in the CM7 thread if you search. But just curious, what's "wrong" with the CM7 camera?

I don't think anyone is questioning the validity of you wanting a different camera. I believe BrettApple is asking what you don't like about the CM camera because knowing this information could help people make better recommendations.
Maybe you want more special effect options
Maybe you want a different shutter mode
Depending on what you are looking for, people will be able to make better recommendations.
I've personally used CM7 stock cam, MIUI cam on CM7, Vignette (a market app), and Camera Zoom FX (a market app).
These days I just use the stock CM7 cam for most stuff. I occasionally fire up the MIUI cam so I can take advantage of the burst shutter mode. I don't have any other cameras currently installed.

So does anyone have a link to the miui cam? And would I flash it or install it with root explorer?

I got one. Not sure what setting though

If you are having reboot issues, I believe that turning off the AutoFocus will resolve. Some people seem to experience it more than others: I have no idea why.
If you disable AutoFocus, touch-to-focus still works.

I use the mini camera without any problems on cm7. I like it better than the stock for the versatility in settings. Is very easy to add.

[Help][Solved] camera rotation bug in sgy..

Hello guys...I don't know if it's a bug or my phone is malfunctioning...but when I try to use camera with any external application like cymera, the preview screen (the screen which shows the live view before taking any picture) doesn't shows up in proper orientation...the screen is rotated by 90° .but the images are fine and after clicking capture button the images are normal like they should be...here are the screenshots
(Preview screen of stock camera and other camera apps like cymera respectively)
I'm currently on ussrv9 and no it's not the Rom issue for me...not working even with stock Rom
Has anyone else faced this bug? Also, please tell me if there are any working custom camera apps available for our sgy or it would be best if you can provide any fix to this bug...if it's with only me then I'm gonna go to service centre

Ps: Both the pics /screenshots are taken in landscape mode
And sorry if such threads already exist...I tried the search button and a bit of Google to..but the search button in xda free app is of no use for me most of the time..dunno why

Camera zoom fx works fine
But a lot of other apps still have the rotation bug...cymera had great features and ui, but it screwed up my phone frequentlt
Any recommendations?

Yeah sure
The blur feature looks like tap to focus...
I installed a lot of camera apps today ...but if cymera didnt had bugs then that would be the best app for our sgy camera
A lot of other apps also had the rotation bug
For me,cymera will be the best...ill write to the dev...till then, camera zoom fx way to go

this seems to be a common problem with the SGY... i experienced this with camera360 too. good thing the dev sent me an old version that worked right.

hi all.
i have made a mod of the stock camera... and dont know if it works on your phones.... so if someone wants to try then please do.
by sounds i mean in app sounds like focus and such.
the shutter sound is not in app... but in system/media/audio/ui.. as written in my post.
please try and let me know...

A Better Camera App

Hii Friends,
I was searching for a better camera app for our XSP, after so many trials I stick with Camera FV-5 app. App is too good & it makes our XSP camera work hard.i love this app.
But last day i was watching Tech news & its gives info abt a camera app known as "A Better Camera", n i tried it. guess wt this app is good for our XSP Camera too.

i tried Camera Awesome, i loved it
can u tell me about Lenovo Super Camera app.. send some pics \

CameraZoom FX is the best in my opinion. It isn't free though.

I got used to it within a few seconds!But I still like the stock album

I think the camera performance has improved alot in existence rom but in the stock rom is very bad
