Hi guys,
I am wondering about the happiness of the union X7500 - Jabra 8010. Sometimes people I talk to tell me that they barely understand me because they hear disruptions/discontinuance in a voice coming from my side. This almost never happens for voice coming from other party. I am not saying the "couple" is responsible for this but it gets me thinking... What could be the reason for this? Why voice is not corrupted in both direction (up&downlinK)? Ohh, I have the BT configured to Stereo, but I think there is no difference in case of mono…
Is there any way I could test the voice quality coming from/to Jabra? Resco Audio Recorder? Anything else….?
jabra 8010 promblem with athena
i have the same problem.
This problem not only happens with my Jabra BT8010, but also with my other bluetooth headset i.Tech Clip D.
I have the same problem too, but not always happen this. Sometimes the quality is good, sometimes bad. If the headset properties on Athena is hands free the outcoming voice is clear. If you're connecting the Jabra with Athena and there aren't any stereo icon on taskbar coming up, the problem dont ocure.
I have WM5 on athena. Perhaps WM6 will solve this bug (Or a new Jabra update).
I tried it with another phones and it worked good.
Hi!
I have contacted HTC support for this and just received their reply. Man, they are "really quick" - 2.5hours - for the bullsh#!#t answer they provided...
Her is the reply:
"Good morning
We are very sorry to hear you are having problems with Bluetooth. You may find that Windows Mobile 6 may cure this problem when it is released for your device on the HTC eClub.
For now we would recommend using a compatible recommended Bluetooth headset as below:
http://www.expansys.com/htc/p_htc_item.aspx?i=150737
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html
"
I shall install Resco Audio Rec and try to record one of these problematic calls. Maybe it will make a difference presenting direct "evidence"...
Any other ideas?
I've got an X7501 Advantage with WM6 on it. I'll be getting the BT8010 in a week or so. I could test this out if that would help.
I have X7500 WM6 Jabra BT8010.
It just disconnects at random times. I will go back to my Jabra BT500 and use the BT8010 only when I want stereo music or other audio output.
Hopefully Jabra will take a look at this problem.
Bluetooth priority patch?
Just curious, have you guys tried installing the Bluetooth priority patch?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=262119
I believe it increases the priority given CPU wise for the bluetooth audio. It actually resolved a problem I was having with my BT8010 and the Universal, the audio during a call was a little choppy and callers reported that my voice was frequently dropping out no matter how close the device and headset were. After downloading and installing the registry edit in the 1st post of the thread I linked to above, problem is gone.
Please let me know if this works, I'm considering purchasing an Advantage and would want to know if it works with my Jabra BT8010.
Thanks,
Galt
hi guys
i've got the same problem.
but not only when using my jabra bt250v
but also when using the wired headset, or no headset at all
so imho this is not a bluetooth related problem
after installing wm6 the problem didn't improve at all.
HTC produce the best WM devices out there
and the Advantage is their flagship device.
These problems with the most basic function shouldn't happen.
And HTC's answer is just poor!
I'm sure they know about this problem and also know that WM6 doen't fix it
(or at least not the ROMs available until today).
I'm still waiting for another RadioROM to fix this fault.
hi galt,
Thanks for your post. I have manually entered the fix form your link:
"Make a new Dword value and name is Priority256 and then for the DWORD Data value make that 60 save and reboot. Presto no more lag, cuts or audio drop outs." since the attached reg file did not have the contents the author has been talking about. I made this reg file with a fix and would like to share with you...
I will test it and let you know how it goes...
Uros
Could someone monitor battery consumption with this fix?
There was a similar fix with A2DP and the current consumption was crazy, so I uninstalled it...
Good news so far
1. With the fix installed and the X7500 "at rest", there is no additional current drain = 90 mA.
2. With BT on playing music throught the Jabra BT8010 the current drain is about normal = 320 mA.
3. With BT off, the current drain returns to normal "at rest" current of 90 mA. With A2DPfix the current drain remainded at 400+ mA.
Good news so far!
NOW: the remaining question: Does it solve the problem of dropout?
I'll try it for a day or so and report back.
GREAT news so far
After 4 hours of listening to music (X7500 WM6 BT8010) with Priority256 installed, I can report:
1. One BT dropout that lasted less than 1 second!
2. Normal battery drain!
I have not used the phone enough to know if there will be and BT disconnects or voice issues, but I will report back on these issues soon.
Looks very good at this point.
So far so good
Hi,
It worked for me as well . Almost completely gone, except some tiny/small discontinuance from time to time... GREAT!
I've been using this fix for 3 days and so far having no complain from the people I talked to. Good fix indeed.
Thanks for posting the zip file, makes installation painless. Testing right now!
Well, so far so good. I did experience 2 or 3 drop outs during music play, but I can not contribute them to the device as I was in my office and an ambulance put on their sirens, somehow there must of been some interference.
The best thing about music play was that when the player switched to each successive song, there used to be an audible click or bump, that just isn't there now!
Did anyone ever confirm if this fixes outgoing audio problems? I've had several callers complain of noise/breakups coming from me, when they sounded normal. I know it wasn't a signal issue since this happens when the Advantage is next to me, and I've used my 8010 from 50 feet away through multiple cube walls plus one real wall...

Try to upgrade your Radio ROM to v1.50. That'll solve most of your bluetooth problems.
I just recently acquired a stereo bluetooth headset from dell model number BH200 and so far the stereo music quality is superb, but the moment a call comes in or I pick up a call it immediately disconnects itself. My question would be if any of you guys have any experience with this issue. the Stereo bluetooth and handsfree profile are both set to active. Any suggestions or hints?
I'm going to go on a limb here and assume that you guys haven't had access to the aforementioned bluetooth and i'm short out of luck here... right?
p.s. SAY IT AINT SO!!!!
Hi, I also have the same headphones and the same problem - only on HTC Universal flashed with WM6.
I search a bit on Google and it seems that the problem is with MS Bluetooth stack - it was working correctly for WM5 (but no A2DP), now in WM6 A2DP works, but handsfree does not.
Right now I'm testing alternative BT stacks - started with UniBT (it's Broadcomm stack modified for Universal) - now A2DP works flawlessly (before that, it didn't), but handsfree/headphones mode does not. At least trying to receive the phone call doesn't turn the headphones off.
i tested my fuze with a jabra bt2010 and it works fine. I'd prefer to not carry 2 bluetooth devices so i'm trying to find a way for it to work. I've been suggested to use a widcomm bluetooth stack as well but i dont know how to change my stack. If anyone here does know how to do it, please do enlighten us.
It's been nearly a month so I'm going to bump this thread in hopes of someone might possibly have some insight into this.
Push/bump.
I got the S9 now, it works for both functions but craps out completely when i'm outside, really bad signal reception as well as "muffled sounds" according to my audiophilic and audiophobic friends.
I think it has to be something to do with the actual firmware inside the bh200 that is wreaking some unknown havoc.
Dell bluetooth headset BH200 not working with Sony Xperia X1i
I have a Dell Bluetooth headset model BH200 and in A2DP mode, works flawless but the moment it is used with handsfree mode for call, the connection is broken and the headset switches off itself. This headset works very well with other non WM6.1 devices. Any clues with anony one what should be done in this case, some people have suggested JETware Hands-free Extension , any one tried on this.
I actually gave up on the bh200 and got myself a jabra bt8010. it works like a charm and the sound is just as good as the bh200
Indeed... i used to have a WM device (Mio A501) and I had the WM6.1 Pro..
I bought this BT at that time and it didn't work on WM6.1 (it even didn't asked me the PIN to pair it) but, when I tried with WM5.0, everything worked great, great sound on call's music, etc.. now I have a Sapphire and I'm not able to make calls on it (music works), but since I'm not driving and people used to look like "what a crazy guy speaking in English alone, no cables, it must be a mp3 or something.. hmmm" when I was on a call, it doesn't make a huge difference
i have yet to try this on wm6.5 but I highly doubt there would be a change..i'll give an update when I do charge up the bh200
i charged the bh200 up completely and tested it out.. it was a failure.. looks like 6.5 did not do anything to help...
Maybe windows mobile 7 will work.......... maybe.
You can use BH200 on call by this way only(I tested)
1. Turn on BT
2. Accepted call(However just Turn on your BT after accept call is OK)
3. Turn on BH200
4. Pair ur PDA w/ BH200
5. Done
IS this thead still active? I have a solution
Guys..
Use Reg edit and make the following modifications in your WM device by creating a new DWORD value 0 with the parameter UseESCO. Check out the path
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\AudioGateway\UseESCO = DWORD:0 (Dont use space between UseESCO)
Then restart the phone and delete any previous BT devices on your phone, start up the paining process and get it to work.
worked flawlessly on my Dell BH200
Thanks,
Raj.
seriously????
the fix is in one freaking registry tweak????
I'll have to wait 2 months before i can test this since i left the damn thing to rot in the US while i'm here in thailand..-_-

Heya, Finally got back ot he US and tested out the BH200 with the fix you mentioned. it works!!!!!
although, i'm wondering if you're having problems with the bh200 not wanting to connect to the phone automatically.
Need help for the same problem in android
I am having similar issues on my Nexus one. Dell BH200 works for music playback but stops functioning when a call is made or received. Even the connection between the phone & BH200 gets lost.
I would be really glad to get some help on this.
I have a problem where my HD2 does not work properly with my Land Rover Freelander 2 in-built bluetooth car kit.
The HD2 pairs with the car and I can search my phone book, see my last dialled number, I can even dial a number, BUT, the phone does not connect properly - the car radio should cut out and phone audio come through the car speakers, but instead the radio just continues to play. And shortly after the call is connected to the other party the line is terminated.
My Nokia phone works perfectly with my car, but this phone does not. Even my Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 did not for properly with the Freelander 2.
I did manage to make one successful call, but after I stopped and restarted the car, the problem returned!! Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
So, does any one know of a fix? Surely hands free/car kit is a standard?
Help!
same problem here. i have a bluetooth car stereo. Always worked fine with my previous HTC's. But now with the HD2 i get the exact same problems as you... I think it's software bug. i have rom version 1.43.404.1 NLD
i hope this gets sorted out cause i use bluetooth audio streaming a lot in the car....same for handsfree calling
Paired it with my Pioneer FH-P80BT on my way to sell my 3GS and recieved a call. Got the same issue as described above - just a bug i presume.
I'm experiancing similar problems. All works fine (incoming call's or outgoing call's) but they get disconnected randomly it seems. I'm using a JVX NX7000 by the way. No problem with my iPhone. Hope they fix it soon!
I tested it with my BMW Idrive last night which is notoriously difficult and it worked fine, I was really surprised tbh! But was able to recieve and make calls, the stereo cut out and could see the phone book too. With my N82 i was only ever able to make/receive calls.
Same problem - Jaguar XF - it docks ok but I have to initiate calls from car (vs phone). Just some weirdness going on...

Mercedes brutality
I have a new Mercedes C, and when the HD2 is connected over bluetooth I get an extremely loud, strange ringtone when receiving a call. It is so loud it could really make your shoes go off.
Also it is none of the ringtones available to choose from, inside the phone - it sounds more like a BIOS beep from a PC and hits me while the normal ringtone is playing as well.
It definitely comes from the phone, not from the car stereo. I have not figured out how to resolve this, I think it is outright dangerous for unprepared drivers.
I have a Nissan Pathfinder; it paired ok, and dials from the Pathy without probs. Ringtone is ok too. Sound quality seems better than my old Tytn so all in all v happy.
Doesn't stream music, but that's Nissan's fault, not HTC.
Works fine with the Ford BT system in the Ford Focus (2009).
HTC HD2 Pairing with a Freelander 2 - SUCESS!!!
Success!!!
So far so good, I applied a known change to the HD2 registry and I am now making and answering calls without fuss!
Change Registry setting:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Bluetooth\Sys
Add the DWORD setting COD=5374476
This makes devices see the HD2 as a 'Normal' phone.
Hope this helps everyone.

Interesting, I have a similar problem with my 2009 BMW 3 I explain here (sorry I posted before discovering this thread) and I'll try your registry tweak.
But you say that it is "a known change" to the HD2, could you tell us where you saw it ? Is there another discussion about the BT stack somewhere or more generaly about the Widcomm implementation in the HD2 ?
The HD2 being so recent and in short supply, I'm a bit surprised something like that is "well known"
Thanks for your help.
It works !
graemenwallace, I just tried after applying your tweak and... OMG, this is AWSOME man, it just WORKS !
I still just have one gripe though, it seems that the car doesn't always receive the RF level correctly at the first connection. Sometimes it sees the phone as having no carrier at all (no bars in the RX level display), preventing the car to make any calls, but as soon as I receive a call, the level resets to full bars and I can pick the call and make calls myself after that.
When the first call comes in, I can see the display with no bars and a "?" appearing on top of it for a short time before it becomes full bars.
So there is still some compatibility problems, but at least now I can pick-up incoming calls without risking my life.
So I suppose you are a potential life saver then
Thanks mate,
Yves.
Bluetooth is working YES with JVC KD-AVX44 ADV49
After the registry tweak from graemenwallace the bluetooth connection is working properly with my car radio (JVC KD-AVX44/KD-ADV49).
The phone functions ok now (incoming & outgoing calls) Also the AD2P connection is super (very good sound)
Also the ID3 tags are functioning (didn't function with the X1 Xperia)
I see the track title now into the JVC display
Skipping etc. all is functioning. I will tell HTC about it because I have a ticket running for this issue. I think they have to solve this issue
Big thanks for this trick
By doing a little search on the net, it seems like graemenwallace suggested that this problem is not new with smartphones that identify themselves as such.
The tweak above forces the BT stack of the phone to identify itself as a standard phone instead of a smartphone.
What's puzzling is that my BMW handsfree worked with other smartphones so far, including the iphone.
Anyway, it's ok now, but I wonder what bad press this will cause to HTC.
The majority of the users are unaware of this kind of wizardry and this justs adds up to the long list of bugs of the HD2.
When I first got the phone a few days ago I was rapidly convinced to return it immediatly as it's fancy interface wasn't enough to overcome all the shortcomings. It was plain unusable as a business phone.
Now after applying most of the tweaks, it begins to show potential, but HTC really has to work on the problems we can't fix by tweaking the registry.
I tried this also, but for me it didn't work.
But my situation is a bit different, as I am not able to connect the HD2 through the Sim Access Profile with my car, which is an Audi A6 mit Bluetooth preparation and I have also the Audi rSAP Adaptor installed in the centre arm rest.
My problem is, that I get a connection to the car, but SAP does not activate and I can't get access to my phonebook - so I only have kind of a handsfree profile...
Am I right that you all use the handsfree profile in your cars and no SAP?

Does your Ford system have the Bluetooth audio choice?
I get my Ford Focus changed every six months coz i'm a driving instructor and it comes as part of the deal.
On my last Ford Focus my htc tytn 2 connected ok and I could make and receive calls ok.
However, when the new car was delivered the Ford system had bluetooth audio choice and ipod integration which the other one didn't.
Now my htc tytn 2 didn't connect very well at all.
Now with my HD2 it does connect only if I have the bluetooth audio profile selected.
But now the music player keeps appearing and wants to play music all the time. If I pause the music on the phone it just starts replaying.
Anyway I will try the registry tweak in this thread and hopefully that will solve the problem.
Paul.

I have the same problem. I`ll try to pair my HD2 with MB C-klass using SAP but i can`t get them connected it seems like a SAP adaptor can`t activate a PIN input window on HD2 (i guess). With other phones it works perfect (tryed with Nokia 5800, 6500).

I feel your pain, my wife has a GolfPlus and the rSAP instalation is crap.
It's overly expensive and useless if you don't have one of the few phones compatible with it.
Unfortunately, many customers are falling in this trap, thinking it is a standard handsfree, but it is not, it is a full GSM build-in which only access your phone SIM card to log into the network and download your contacts.
In the case of my wife, the dealer was honest and clearly stated that it was a mistake to order this option.
The only problem is that he had no other alternative than proposing an Parrot retrofit which wasn't really an option for me as it wasn't integrated in the car and certainly not in the navigation system.
But internet is your friend and the solution is quite simple, the Kufatec kit.
This is brilliant, it is a small box that connects to the CAN bus of many german cars and integrates perfectly into existing navigators, it uses the steering wheels command buttons and so on.
It is much better (more functions) than original BT options, is tailored to each brand so that the displays are in the same style as the original ones etc.
More interesting, it is field upgradable (just a laptop with BT) so that it is potentialy compatible with anything existing or not yet.
And it only costs a fraction of this crappy rSAP option.
In your case, the good news is that it can simply replace your actual rSAP kit for a minimal installation fee. (the CAN bus has to be reprogramed however, so professional instalation needed)
There is another solution: to replace the unit you have (it is situated under the driver's seat) by a skoda unit. This unit has the same connector but is simple handsfree instead of rSAP.
Hope this helps.
There are a lot of problems with carkit connections & the HD2.
I tried several things to get it working without success.
When I try to connect to the JVC KD-AVX44 it connects but give no sound at all. (making 2 connections, handsfree & stereo audio)
Then I tried the registry tweak mentioned into this forum and had success once. I was very happy because also the title track was shown onto the JVC display and also the phone was functioning ok both ways.
The sound trough AD2P was perfect. Only one time.
After that i get a lot of disconnects.
Then I tried to make only connection with the phone function and this is working ok now. When I want to make the connection trough AD2P then the problem is back. Also when you make it without making the phone connection
So I think the problem lies into the stereo connection. For instance when you skip a track onto the JVC then the connection will be lost and reconect again and giving 2 seconds of sound and then it's quiet again.
Also when to 2 connections exists the phone is blocked by incomming calls because it's thinking it's connected so the earpiece & mic are dead at that time. And also the radio.
Did you try the LineSpeed setting to 256 in the AV key of the Widcomm registry settings ?
Don't know if it could help in your case but it did for me, I don't have disconnects with my Sony headphones anymore and sound is better.
Bluetooth

Ok but are you also making stereo connection. I only have the handsfree conected at this time and then the connection is stable. Only with the A2DP it goes wrong.

Strange, so far I didn't experience any disconnection.
I have conversations during more than 20 minutes daily and line quality is far better than with my Diamond, with no drops.
With the Diamond I had the BT stopping regularily on the phone, it was very annoying because I always discovered it when receiving a call and not being able to answer.
So far it didn't happen on the HD2, but it is really too soon to jump to any conclusion.
I don't use A2DP in the car as I didn't order the option, which I viewed as useless because the hard disk capacity of the iDrive is sufficient to hold a good collection, the audio quality and functionality is much better and I can still connect the phone to the USB plug as mass storage if I want to play or transfer something from it or any memory stick or external HD.
So maybe not having the A2DP profile active may help also.
I also not any problem with my old HTD HD and Cruize ... but with HD2 i have this issue.
Today i receive answer of my ticket from HTC: they offer me to contact with BMW and to ask them why they not support HD2 ... I think this is stupid becouse every new device must support old protocols and older devices.
Now the choice is to change Car or Phone ... sorry but HD2 not have any chance to survive.

Yes how lousy is that
Got the same answer first, but they realised that BMW coudn't recall thousands of vehicles to do a BT upgrade just because HTC decided to adopt the crapy Widcomm BT stack.
So they say they are working on a fix, but given how many issues there are with this stack, they better switch back to the old MS stack instead.
To be clear, it is the Widcomm stack at fault here, not BMW. Every single phone not equipped with this stack, I could try on the BMW, worked flawlesly.
I hope they will recognise this officialy and not blame the others each time a customer opens a ticket about these flaws.
In the meantime, the registry hack works perfectly for handsfree profile, but it seems it doesn't fix everything when the A2DP profile is activated.

After much playing around - I found a linespeed of 300 works best for the HD2. 256 still has questionable quality and 320 for some reason skips a lot. Reducing it to 300 seems to be a workable equilibrium!
I used to use MSVC 1.6 on the Tytn2 on WM6.5 (see sig) and the confirmation notifications when you called someone always used the bluetooth headset. Since running it on the Leo MSVC seems to use the loudspeaker on the handset instead of the bluetooth headset even though every setting is marked as "Announce notifications using Bluetooth hands free only"
Anyone else having this issue as I did a search and couldn't find anyone.
Edit: Just had it working once but then the other end couldn't hear me when the call connected. Then I tried again and it had reverted back to not working.
I went to Bluetooth settings, Advanced, Audio and ticked the box then rebooted the phone...
I have this same problem! Its annoying... you want to make a call and the prompts/confirmation come from the phone... Please, can someone figure this out?

IT isn't... I have done more research..
The Leo (and the TouchPro2) use a Widcomm BT stack as opposed to the usual MS stack. Sadly, this means the BT won't play nice with a lot of different apps/equipment. This isn't something that can be swapped out easily as NRG has pointed out. Touch Pro 2 users are still facing the same problems even though that phone was released much earlier. Some however have reported some success when using certain custom ROMS... how its working with some ROMS and not others is still a mystery it seems
I would watch the ROM Development thread carefully to see if a ROM what works with our MSVC shows up....
Hello,
Is there a workaround... ?
Thanks in advance for any info,
Jean-Jacques
I have the same problem. I'm using an old phone when I need to use hands-free. After spending a lot of money on my HD2, I'm not impressed.
I there a particular combination of headset and software that does work, especially for voice dialing?
have you tried this?
I would, but I don't know if I even have voice command on my phone.

Workaround
Hi,
for this following workaround seems the only way to get it runnin:
My BT-Headset has the ability to be set as a Stereo-Device. When I establish a connection to this Stereo-Device, I can use it (my BT Headset) to give Commands and recieve "answers" from the VC. In case I want to start a phone-Call, my headset changes the connection automatically from "Stereo-Device" to "Handsfree-Device" and back, after finishing the Call.
This may be the Reason, why someone here already got it running with a BT-Stereo-Headset.?
Sorry for my bad english...
