I have an Ideos X5 u8800H with stock internal SD bigger then 6gb. I installed the Oxygen rom and found my space reduced to 600mb, I then used Genokolar's custom partition zip and that helped me get 2.7gb of my space back.
But I still have 3gb unused space I can't access.
Is it possible for any developer to increase the maximum partition values in Genokolar's custom partition app to 5.7gb?
This will be a huge help as I'm loving my oxygen rom and don't want to go back to stock rom.

Hi!
You can try to modify custpartition.bat - to increase max partition value
if /i %datasize% LEQ 2733 goto OK

Can't test it - I don't have that much space on phone ))
Thanks man will have a look and let u know if it works.

hi
i know that data.img is a file were all your datas are saved on, but what is meaning when for examlpe in the darkstone froyo tread stands " I have included a 256MB data.img, however you can use any size that you wish if you have your own data.img."
what is meaning with a 256mb data.img? and i thought it was created by itself on first reboot.

If you want to save your data.img, with all of your stuff on it, then you can, but he already has a 256 set up automatically. Check my thread link for info on data.img resizer up to 2gb; more games, etc.
Oki but what means 256mb data.img is that how much space There is on it, and what is on the data img he got, is it apps and so on or what is on it? I am a bit confused

He's created a storage space 256mb in size. There may be a couple of apps that he may have mentioned that are included, but you'll have 256mb of storage space to load pics, software, games.
Ahh okey so if you had one on 1gb you will have 1gb to install apps and other things. Is that because the android os is on the sd card so you have to make a sort of virtual interal memory on the phone

hi
i have installed nexushd2 froyo Nand rom, and it's runing fine. but i just got 21 mb left on the internal storage, so i can't instal any apps or update.
i have tried to use app2sd but don't help anything, and have looked at some other treads but didn't help much
Load up app2sd and then move your apps to your SD card, simple! You can also use programs like Titanium backup to move them also.
If you cant figure out how to move them there isnt much hope for you im affraid.
Alternativley you should give a ROM a go that has App2SD+ or Data2Sd but you will have to create a partition on your SD card either via CWR or via a partition software. Once this is done all your apps will automatically be moved to SD when using App2SD+ or if you use Data2SD your partition will actually be a aextension of your internal memory which is much better
I haved moved all my app from sd card but didnt help

Ill take it you have a EU HD2 and not a US one?

I have the US T-mo version and i am having the same issue as the original poster. The issue is that apparently 200 + mb's left is not enough for me. The phone decides which ones I can move and which ones go to the internal memory. Likewise App2sd is only moving a few apps. Not all the ones I am newly downloading.
I am also experienced a recent problem. I tried to open up pictures with the 3d gallery to view photos. the program started up and then the low disk error appeared out of nowhere then the gallery shut down!?!?!? Now how does this get remedied? this is not an issue for app2sd (that i know of) or moving anything is it?
thanks in advance
Yes it is a EU version, so I have to live with that i can't install Any app?

1.Reflash the ROM (do chalk the sd-card folder paste etc),
2.update again just after flashing v8.0
3.Install setCPU, set governor scaling to conservative.
4.Enjoy your smooth & fast phone.
5.Never post new thread again if there's already a dedicated thread for it, you
should have asked in the official kyrillos feedback thread.
6.Thanks if I've helped you

@sohail77, you can disable swap if its enabled

Swap acts like an additional RAM but incase you create a swap partition, then the extra RAM Space is on your sdcard.
Swap is not really needed. It takes about 4 hrs for my G3 to get completely charged. I guess that is normal.
Reflash you ROM and do the steps as said above. I would suggest using 83-1000 profile and using the "on demand" governor.
Follow the steps on using hybrid a2sd on kyrillos thread. It works fine for me.
hi
can you explain me if it's normal to have only 4 go free in internal sd?

can explaine me if it's good......normaly i think that my 3110 have 8go. correct?
existing a solution?
sorry for my poor english

About 4 gb are reserved for formatting tables rom recovery etc so if you have 8 gb version this is normal use external sd and app like directory bind, gl2sd or app2sd
In 16 gb version only free space is 11 gb

Although saw sygic allows you to move the map files to your extremal SD and it finds them just fine, why cant other apps do the same

Yeah I used apps2sd for a bit to try it out. I could move most apps but some would not work. However your ABSOLUTE BEST option in this regard would be to use data2sd. This moves the entire /data partition to a class 10 SD card. So all your apps will be installed there. This gives a MASSIVE I/O boost. I think you will like how fast your tablet is after enabling data2sd.

Haha nooooo it is a kernel tweak. The easiest way is to flash a kernel that has it included. You also will need a partitioning software on your computer to partition your SD card. This isn't a simple, install an app and enable something. That being said, its not that complicated. Although, I don't think its working quite right on 4.2.1 right now, as kernels are still relatively new. But if you are on 4.1.1 (or downgrade) there are multiple kernels that have it.
Edit: here is the thread with a guide (its for tf700 but its the same process, just use the right kernels) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1962507
And here is a link to a stock kernel with the data2sd patch enabled. Remember this is for 4.1.1 boot loader and you must complete above guide first to format your card.
http://d-h.st/IBm
Also, all this info is in the CROMI 2.x thread.
None of this is mine. I just posted the relevant links. All thanks for creation go to the original threads

Yes this app works great, you can move apps to the primary partition(FAT) of your sdcard, or you can sym link them to an EXT partition, so they are on your SDcard, but android doesn't know they are, so you can still create widgets from the apps.
I use this on my razr maxx and my TF300t.

Best i can remember:
Open the app
Grant super user permissions
Let it install a script
Reboot(dont remember if it asks you to reboot or not, but i had to reboot in order for it to work
After the reboot, open the app, and long press on any non system app and select link to sym link to the EXT partition, or select move to move the app to SD(native android method).
Nope...nothing has worked.

Bro data2sd is being implemented in 4.2... check CROMI-X thread. This is exactly what your looking for and it will remove the crappy I/O limitations of asus's crap hardware. This will speed up your tab. At least look into it man. All you need to do is partition your SD card with gparted then flash a data2sd kernel and boom. Your entire /data partition is moved to your SD card so ALLLL apps can be installed there AND save their data there.
EDIT just saw that your still locked... SORRY! Above info requires unlocked bootloader. =( but if you want the most out of this tab I recommend unlocking and flashing some better firmware. Stock speeds are just so miserable IMHO...
Looks like I'll have to jump that direction...just see so many posts of bricked tabs freaks me out..haha

Hey man, I believe in you haha. But most bricks recently were caused by updating to 4.2. Since your already on 4.2, you only have to unlock and flash recovery via fast boot. JUST MAKE SURE YOU FLASH THE CORRECT RECOVERY. there is a very specific version on twrp for 4.2. Many people have bricked by foolishly flashing the 4.1.1 twrp. As long as you have the correct twrp, and dont do anything foolish you won't be in any danger.
This guide has instructions AND the correct version of twrp

Yes this is a viable option if you wish to remain locked. Also you can Use the guide for data2sd to partition your SD card (if you wish) cuz its the same exact process. However you will not be able to move your /data partition like with data2sd. If your just trying to save space on internal storage, link2sd should suite your needs just fine. Ide say try link2sd first, then if your unsatisfied, all you have to do is unlock and flash a kernel with data2sd cause your SD card will already be partitioned!!! You've got nothing to loose with link2sd so might as well start there. =)

So I got Link2SD working - cool! :good: saved me about 1GB +
Now..my other problem and I don't really know where to go with one...
It says my SYSTEM storage is at 4% LEFT..that's all. It wont even allow me to update an app because it says insufficient memory available.
So does this mean end of the line for it and its time go unlock and go custom?? Any other suggestions or ides?

Excellent, glad to here you got it working. I find apps that I move to my SDcard also run much faster because the SDcard is so much faster than the internal memory.
As for your system, this is nothing to worry about. The system partition is READ ONLY. The main components of the rom are stored there, and nothing is added or taken away from this partition unless you are wiping or flashing roms.
Short answer, it will never move from 4%, up or down, even if you installed 100 apps, or uninstalled very thing you have. When you install apps, uninstall them, or move them to SD, you will be effecting the DATA partition.
Hope this helps.
Excellent explanation thank you! I'm actually leaning towards unlocking and going with Cromi-X as Mark suggested...I'm thinking the Data2SD will give me more of what I truly need...and that seems to be I need more space for all the apps installed.
