This is more of an "annoying" occurance then anything, but does anyone else's tab get warm near the power and volume buttons? Mine doesn't get hot by any means, but it does get warmer in that particular spot. I'm assuming that's where the CPU is located?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
Yep. Same spot here. Especially after a full screen Flash video.
Same here. Related to graphics or the screen, would be my guess.
That's what I was thinking, as long as I'm not alone, I'm happy.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using Tapatalk
Yeah. My tab likes to heat up just as much, if not more, near the bottom while charging. It doesn't really surprise me, but it does get quite hot.

Hi, i just bought my TF and i was wondering if anyone else was noticing that after a while the upper right-hand side seems to get quite hot. Is that just a problem with my unit or is everyone in the same boat?
which upper right hand side? landscape? No haven't noticed heat, it gets warm after playing games or when charging.

Not "hot" by any stretch of the imagination. Warmer than the rest of the unit, but only just barely enough to be noticeable.
pretty sure the battery or the cpu is there. so that might explain it.
Just got my nexus 7 in today. It seems fine, although, I noticed that con the cleft side of the screen, it seems to be slightly raised in the middle. The corners attached fine. Are people sending out back for this? It doesn't seem like an issue, just an annoyance
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Sounds like it. Seems like it's always on the left side for some reason. It's lifts up over the bezel and you can push down on it and it lifts again later. That is how mine is... or was hopefully.
I heated it up with a game, then put a couple clamps on it, left it over night turned off, and today it has stayed down so far. Hope the adhesive that is suppose to hold the glass down sticks now.
I had a previous one though that was slightly different, it was raised on the left side, but I couldn't push it down. Seemed like a screw was tightened too far or something. I sent that one back.
Either deal with it or get a refund if it really bothers you. You can also try number of fixes that are posted on these forums. They pretty much all have this issue to some degree.

Yes this is it, but the real problem is if it makes a noise when you push on it. THATS the annoying part.
Mine doesn't make any noise, although it definitely is a tiny bit squishy and if you try and push hard on it, it does act a little like an LCD monitor. I just didn't care enough to try and return it, as I would have never noticed it if everyone hadn't had their panties up in a wad as much as they did. I figure the worst that happens is that it gets worse over the next year and I end up having to spend a whole $200 more on a newer model.
I agree. I can't imagine this truly hurting the experience. Oh well. Not a big deal as long as it works well

Are you guys serious? If I buy a product, it better not have defects. Why would anyone settle for bad quality? Products these days should not have any issues with the technology we have.
This doesn't make sense to me.
Mine is arriving next week and I hope everything is perfect.

I agree, if it was a true issue I would get a new one. In my case, it is only raised in the middle, and not that noticeable. Everything else is fine. You can fix that too
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Besides it shouldn't affect performance. I hope

When I got my second one from the play store, it looked like the middle of the left side was raised. I thought I pushed it down but it never came back up.
I keep looking at it and touching it but nothing. I don't know if I imagined it or maybe bad lighting.
Just install a TPU case where the lip overhangs the screen. Problem solved. Out of sight out of mind. I'm enjoying my N7.
If its a problem 6 months later then I'll call and exchange it. Big whoop.

Doesn't affect my daily use so why should I care. I purchased a two year warranty through square trade should anything go wrong. I shouldn't expect defects but if it truly isn't hurting anything, then meh.

I don't think that they all have this issue, only a select few. I have been lucky enough to get 4 Nexus 7's and no issues. I have seen the issue posted on the site several times though, and the fixes seem pretty easy. There are some youtube videos on fixing it too. Good luck fixing it mate, would take advantage of the warranty if I were you.
Thank you! I can't understand why anyone would send it in for something like that

I can't understand how people can keep a touch device with a raised squishy screen myself.

You can't understand how when someone holds their tablet by the left bezel and it creaks like a floor board, they'd like to return it? That perhaps when using the tablet as a book they don't want to be distracted by clicking noises?

I am not talking about a problem to that extreme, I am talking about, a very slight raise in the middle, with no squeak. The only thing that I can think of that could be bothersome about that is that when you push hard on the bezel, a little bit of the left screen ripples
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have exact the same problem as described. They most annoying part is they "cracking" sound it does when tapping on the left side. I curious whether the touchscreen responsivness issue is somehow related to this problem.
Btw I thought it might be related to the processor since its also on the left side, maybe the heat causes the glue to detach ... if you know what I mean.

Is there anyway to fix the screen ripple?

In the words of the virgin Mary, come again?
Sorry. I was wondering if there was a fix for when you pressed down on the side of the screen and it started to ripple like an lcd
RMA it like I did yesterday.

It ripples like an lcd because it is an lcd.

Yeah, I dont think an rma is going to fix this. Don't squeeze it so hard... fixed.
Mine does it as well, so not knockin ya but. It has yet to be an issue in actual real life use. Sure you can sit there and pinch the thing, but just stop, and you'll never notice it again.
I am very OCD about my devices. Honestly, as long as I know that nothing is wrong with it in that category, I will be fine
I noticed the ripple on two of the three N7's I tried. While I think it probably SHOULDN'T be happening (i.e., it represents an underlying design and/or manufacturing flaw), I don't think it will cause any issues. Like the screen lift, it's one of those things where it's technically a defect, but it's not likely to cause any performance or other issues.
If I hadn't had other problems with mine, I'd have put the best N7 in a case and forgotten all about those two issues.
What were your other problems
My first one had pretty good screen seperation all along the left side, and pretty bad lightbleed from the left side.
My new one has barely any lift (just a 1 inch section, about a third the way up on the left side), but has the lcd ripple.
The screen seperation isn't even noticeable unless you lay it flat and look across the glass and this one feels solid, the first one was spongy.
I can handle the ripple, because it only happens when im messing with it, trying to make it happen.

Tried it on mine. I am kind of shocked at how hard it had to press to get it to ripple. I am hoping get that the op has a worse case than I do because if not this is crazy. I would never pinch that hard I every day use.

So I have desided I would live with the phones warm ish colour its not as bad now. But the mid right side of the phone I can say hit settings on the notification bar and I can clearly see marks happen on the screen for a few seconds like I was pushing down hard on the screen when I certainly was not :/ Whats this and are they all like this or is this one a dud?

my DNA started to do this towards the middle..it's the overall design of the phone and the shape of the back, i believe. i don't notice it on my G2 much.

Okay thanks. How much pressure do you have to.use before it would do it? Im about to drive down to best buy real quick even though its a little under an hour drive to get a.replacement.
Isn't this also using the zero gap technology? If so then the "closeness" improves touchscreen responsiveness.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I just got back from doing an exchange this one is NOT as bad as the first one its manageable! The screen colour is a little better too still warm but not redish like the other one.
Am I the only one that notice how sensitive the display is on the S7 Edge? Most times when I'm scrolling through the Internet, XDA app, etc. it seems to be too sensitive and it'll make GHOST touches.
I had this issue on the One Plus One before but it seemed to be a hardware defect. Hopefully that isn't the same here.
BTW I HAVE A SPIGEN CASE ON IT SO I'M NOT ACCIDENTALLY TOUCHING THE SIDES.
I have the same occasional issue with or without a case. Considering returning it for a regular s7
Gave it to my wife to try and she says it's way too sensitive (compared to her iPhone ). I've been feeling it's sensitive also....
Sent from my SM-G935T using Tapatalk
Same here. I have he T-mobile S7 Edge. Sometimes it seems like all I have to do is hover my finger a couple of mm's above the screen and it registers as though I am touching it. If I remember correctly, didn't the S3 have a setting that could adjust the sensitivity?
It will be fixed with update here soon... Samsung is in the midst or rolling out the update for the edge display... Its a worldwide issue.
For a second I thought it was just me. Hopefully it's just a software issue. I love this phone and I would hate to return it. It's already bad enough that our bootloader is locked.
How is it sensitive? In trying to figure it out lol I should have it too.

You'll notice how sensitive it is once you scroll through the web browser. You will notice a ton of accidental presses.

Ok so I did some testing....it works fine with the Web broswer. I've tried intense sites like CNN,MSN and NFL they all work great. Load fast and scrolled fast too. Absolutely not one accidental touch. I don't see the sensitive side. Maybe yall are just not used to something that can fly? Because it IS fast, it's like my brain touches before seeing.

I would assume that just about everyone on XDA is used to a FAST phone. If the phone works flawless for you then fine but there is obviously an issue with this phone and it's sensitivity.
Yea I made a thread about this issue before. Can't find it ATM.
I almost returned the phone because I thought it was a hardware defect but I learned a lot of folks have this issue. I really hope it gets fixed.
It happenes most when I scroll up or down, if my finger doesn't leave the screen with a swiping movement after the initial swioe/scroll, then 1outt of 5 times it will register a press. And if there are selectable items under my scroll, it's a pita and will select things that I may not be aware of. Ugh.. Staring at shipping labels right now debating on a return . but I like the s7 a lot, I'm torn.
