Your answer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmvCpR45LKA
And also in wrong section, should ask in Q&A
Sorry...
BTW the problem probably is in your OS not in ROM
I'm probably not the only one that will tell you that mo matter how terrible your problem looks to you you shoudn't post things like this in developer section
now go and find another usb cable and try how it behaves
Since we're piling on your forum etiquette you may also want to name your thread something germane to this issue next time.
Moderator, could you please move this thread to the Q&A section?
Thanks.
thanks...yes move this tread to Q&A...
sorry for put it here!

So I purchased an HD2 from someone and it already has android ported to it. I dont like the ROM that is currently on it and i'm wantign to change it to the Desire HD ROM but I'm sorta stuck.
What steps do I have to do in order to do this? Do I have to remove the current ROM and install the new one? Can I just install the new one on the SD card and *BAM* thats it? do i have to clean the traces of the old ROM?
I have a million questions basically. Can SOMEBODY give me step by step instructions of how to do this or give me a link on how to do this?
To make a build work from the SD card, you need to have Windows Mobile OS.
If you want Android working from Nand, just boot into MAGLDR, hardreset your NAND memory, this will wipe the NAND;
Then enter USB Flasher mode in MAGLDR and either you can flash a new ROM or flash CWM Recovery - a tool from which you can install zipped ROM files from your SD.
Basically, chose the ROM you like to install on your device, and follow the steps provided there, those steps will be sufficient to wipe the previous ROM and install the new one.

Dude, you're a duchebag. Why would I come to a forum (not just a forum, but a Q&A forum) if I havent already looked. Thats why I hate XDA, jacka**es like you and every other "senior member" on this dang website. I come here for help and get insulted by you.
Now who looks like the dumba**? The person that actually needs help or the person that takes to time to not only point out that your a "noob" but also gives you links the the forum that I was already on.
I wish that there was another webiste other than XDA that was interested in HELPING PEOPLE. Rather than just putting them down. The "senior members" need to take a look at themselves and come off their high and mighty cloud and actuall take the time to help the ones that need it.
Wow, no need to be so harsh. And if you keep that up you'll just help turn this into a flame thread, hence the lock down of this thread by a mod. Look at the second link he gave you, it contains links to all the useful information about a HD2, and the answers to your question.
Anyways, look at this thread,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1021837
That thread will give you all the answers, read, read, read, I'm dead serious, it has all the answers.
Read the whole thing.
Best of luck.

Start by going to the windows mobile 6.5 dev thread and in the sticky you will find the task29 without mtty thread, get it. Check what radio you're running and if you don't have the 2.15.50, get it from the same sticky. Now come to android nand dev and find the latest MGLDR and get that too, find a rom you would like to use, find the partition size for such rom and get it.
Now start by task29.
Flash 2.15.50 radio if you don't have it.(if you do skip it)
Flash MGLDR- Either thru DAF or RUU.
Flash Clockworkmod recovery with needed partition.
Copy all your SD card content to pc and within clockworkmod advanced settings, format SD card to 1024mb with 0 swap.
Drop into the SD card the rom zip only and flash it, once done you can transfer the rest of your stuff back to the SD card from pc.
I hope this can help you a bit with your learning of android flashing in the hd2

You've been a member of XDA since 2009 and you ask this in a development forum?
Please spend a few minutes looking for yourself, all the information is available in stickies right at the top, and questions do not belong in this subforum.
To answer some of your queries:
1) You need to have put the right HSPL on your phone, with the correct Radio, and then install a bootloader like MagLdr or cLK
2) All a matter of opinion, you'll have to choose one yourself
3) Yes, you can go back to WinMo6.5 whenever.
If you get through the whole installation process.. i recommend NexusHD2 rom. Stable and snappy AOSP rom.

Throw your phone in the bin, quit XDA.
There are many guides around, have you read any of the stickes or even the forum rules before posting this such usefull thread in "Development" forums of all the places ?
Personally i feel, people like you dont deserve smart phones.
okay mate look first you asked in the wrong forum but anyway
1- install the MAGLDR 113
2- install the Recovery 400 MB
3- make 2 partitions on your sd card one fat32 and the second ext4( 1Gb )
4- download any rom you want i recommend (nexusHD2) you can find it in the forum
5- put the rom zip file on your sd
6- turn on your phone - enter magldr - enter recovery - choose wipe data and confirm it then choose install zip from sd card and continue from there by locating the zip file on your sd and conform the installation .
7- when everything done just reboot your phone
hope i helped
this is link for the rom and the guide too
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905060
and if you want to get back to WM anytime just flash the original stock rom.

Sorry, Noob here..my 1st post, actually.
I installed zip's creamed glacier 3.11 after using 3.10 for a few days. My problem only is that I backup everything to my pc before I install any rom and once I installed 3.11 the option to switch to storage doesn't work. Sooo...I ended up reverting back to 3.10 so I could reload all my music, pics, etc...
My question is, was this supposed to be fixed and it was just me that was the problem or is this a problem for anyone else?
definitely a noob LOL, youd have much better luck posting in zips thread... technically, thats where you SHOULD be posting..
i dont use zips so i cant help you but yea.. ask in his thread for results gl
yes, a noob
...exactly why I can't post on his thread...you need at least 10 posts... quite ridiculous if you ask me.. How am I supposed to post on a thread if I have to start one on my own just because I'm new to the site?
Rules are rules for a reason, I guess...

He is gonna put a new update with the fix but if you can't wait for the update flash the newest version and install USB mount or any other 3rd party from the play store.

Yeah, I got that AFTER reading posts that others were able to post while I was figuring out how to actually post on here...lol

oh, sorry.. lol my fault, completely forgot new members had to wait to post in dev..
seems like a dumb rule to me too but i guess they want you to get used to the site first.. they take the dev section seriously lol
I experienced the same when upping to 3.11, however I'm not too worried. The only thing I needed to add was the low mic fix and I just emailed it to myself.
Download Multi Mount app or
use adb push method to copy files to your sd card
depending upon your recovery - you may have options there too. i use clockwordmod as my recovery - you can mount the usb from the cwm recovery, copy over your files and then update without having to restart, etc. (you can even back it up from cwm)
Hey Guys I have been changing roms alot on my HD2 but I run them off the SD card, which from my experience so far isnt bad at all. But what I would like to do is Dual run WP7 and then Android off the Sd card. Only problem I have is that my physical back button does not work, and every time I se something about flashing a rom with magdlr its says something about using the back button. I guess my question is, is there anay way I can Run WP7 on Nand without having to use my back button? Any help I really appreciate...(and if this is not the right area to ask please let me know and I will move my question to the appropriate place) thanks in advance, :fingers-crossed:
Seriously, this should be in the QUESTIONS section.
LOL
you can try the new CWM Recovery (Still in beta as of this post) which is Touch enabled.
First beta version came with a soft back button although it might have been removed in the newer beta versions.

This has to be one of the stupidest things I've ever read:
1. You're asking a question in the DEVELOPMENT FORUMS.
2. You're asking a question about WP7/SD Android in the NAND forums.
3. You clearly haven't done enough searching before asking your question
4. Your thread is titled wrongly. 'Some questions' doesn't give the people who are trying to help you any information, and I would have just skipped over this thread had it not been in the wrong forum.
as above, you deserve the roasting, , ,however, since i'm in a rare good mood, , the answer is no, you don't need the back button at all to flash magldr/cwm/clk/nand roms/wp7 roms. Send, end and voldown are all you need.
Really?!?

This type of answer is definitely understandable, but for
1. I could have sworn people have ran WP7 on the NAND and Android on the SD card (meaning the base is WP7 and they can run Android off the SD card.) ...maybe im wrong
2. You are correct I havent done enough researching on it, I was going based off some Youtube vids and what some people kept tellin me.
3. My thread isn't titled "Some questions" my thread is titled "Serious Question...please help" and I understand that I posted in the wrong place which is why if you read my whole post I established that I would move it if needed.
4. Im a noob when it comes to the HD2 I do understand that...but no need to act like a sarcastic **** about it

I believe I have used this before and it has worked, but thanks for your input as well :good:
If you knew that you hadn't done enough research on it then why didn't you just do some and save yourself the trouble of creating a new thread in the first place?
Just like to add that the easiest way to root your Arc S android 4.0.2.A.0.62 is to use Eroot v.1.3.4
I tried onelick and srsroot does not work!
Also you need to set admin access in order for eroot to work! I did not do this at first so did not work. But once I did and made sure I got a proper USb port working. It only took a few seconds and I got root access! SOmetimes the USB port plays up.
No flash nothing!!!!!!! Why wasn't this mention before?????????
Could someone put this up as a sticky so everyone can know? Thanks!

I know that post thanks! but I think what wasn't mentioned is how to use eroot! Cause I did try and it did not work! But never knew you got to use admin rights to get it working properly! I also plugged it into a usb port and it did not detect it! So i thought it did not work and then plugged into another usb port and it worked!!! : )And so gave up on it and tried others and that did not work and then as said plugged it into another usb port and DONE it worked!!!!
So just sharing just in case anyone else has found this helpful!!!
So sorry for mishap on saying the software was not on this forum, I should have edited it and say that the link was not clear.....So sorry about that...
