Looking forward to see great ROMs and updates come out of this news. Well at least some minor bugs get fixed.
having looked into it, im pretty sure this has no relevance to us whatsoever.
well at least until the kernel source gets released but its not looking likely.
Already submitted the request for said code

I signed in...but from what i can read...its not a full sense dev pack...this it says:
"Today we are making available an early access version of the HTC OpenSense SDK that provides APIs for Common Controls, the Stereoscopic 3D display, and the Tablet Pen. Over time, HTCdev will be supporting new features and additions to the OpenSense SDK to enable deeper integration into the HTC Sense experience."
Correct me if i´m wrong because my english is not so good but..for me only APIs for Common Controls, the Stereoscopic 3D display, and the Tablet Pen..is in the OpenSense SDK
Kernel source is also the old froyo..at this time
with kind regards..Alex
Would it now be possible to port some Sense-Apps to AOSP-Roms?

oops, I accidently pressed thank you button
It seems that it is not for porting apps to AOSP, or other roms which is using other frameworks than Sense UI. It is for developing apps that has Sense UI look, and its feature.

Completely agree, seems a great BUILD !!!!
Ok
I have tried a few builds for the HD2 and initial reaction is it does seem a good Android build. Now....if someone could make a Miui build for the HD2 with Sense type clock, then that would be something. I love the fact you can create as many screens as you wish, can move the home page, have bluetooth, wifi etc controls in the notification screen. I would be willing to give it a thorough test if someone can build it as it should be.

Did you do a search before posting this? A thread about this has already been made here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1107647.
Yeah! Did you even try to search for the news that you had no idea existed before today?!?!?!!? GRRR it makes me soo mad that people aren't psychic and don't search for news that hasn't happened yet!
(that was sarcasm)
Thanks mtnlion, it's news to me. It's pretty cool that HTC has been becoming a lot more friendly with the modding community as of late. I wonder if this will trickle down to our little Aria community.
Just did twice from the app.didn't get the thread you linked.its been my experience that searching from the app doesn't always yield the results you think it would. So if someone is just following the aria forum they see this thread then know what to look for.

I desperately wants senses "in call" screen intergrated into cm
Sent from my Liberty using XDA App
There seems to be a lot of confusion about what this announcement actually means. HTC is allowing application developers to create applications that can utilize the features of Sense directly. They are NOT making Sense open source nor are they allowing Sense to be added arbitrarily to any phone or ROM. Non-Sense ROMs don't benefit in any way from this.

Umm..so far all the Gingerbread roms that are out are still having some issues...low in- call volume, no hardware acceleration(videos), no flashlight...etc...and aren't quite fully functional as Froyo is just yet..which is perfectly understandable...
I was just wondering if your up coming rom will still have those issues....or if you are going to blow our minds with a fully functional Gingerbread rom for the Fasciante...

Completely understand your frustration. Unfortunately, if the devs don't have a full, stable source drop to work with, we really can't hold the current crop of common /generally recognized GB issues against them. Heck, they're probably more frustrated about it than the rest of us

I think that everyone is very excited - it's something we've waited for a long time. But who needs threads made of thousands of posts like "OMG Finally!!" and such? Those post serve nothing, there is no point in writing them. It only shows, that we have very well behaving community here. Let's just wait and for the magicians (or "devs" as we call them ) to take it and make bugs gone .
There is another thread in the dev-section.
I would go insane with joy but I am a linux failure so other than making me anxious for one of the geniuses here to go to town on our kernel I am still in the same position I have been, on the edge of my seat waiting :/

Yeah, if the OP had posted in the Dev section, he would have received loads of thanks as well as more attention, but to be fair it is pretty risky posting in the dev section. You never know whether you'll get flamed or thanked.
Also, that thread is newer than this one, therefore it isn't as if this is a duplicate thread, but more so that that is a duplicate of this (if that's what you're trying to suggest).
Hello, XDA!
I am organizing a team of developers to attempt to port HTC Sense to the Atrix 4G. Theoretically, this should be possible, correct? I've seen reports of it being successfully ported to Samsung phones. I love the Sense UI, and would love to see this happen, if it is at all possible! This will be my first attempt at an Android development project, so really any help would be greatly appreciated!

My thinking exactly. There's also a project for porting Sense to the Motorola Triumph, and the Epic 4G. So, i thought, "Why the hell not?"
A) Why wouldn't you get an HTC phone if you like the Sense UI?
&
B) Why would you want to take the bloatware of MotoBlurr off a phone and load it with another manufacturer's bloatware, HTC Sense?
Interesting idea, none the less though. I guess just to prove you can

You can get de-bloated Sense roms.
