[Q] White screen - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi, I recently sent my phone in to have the USB connector port repaired, when they sent it back everything was hunky dory. I immediately installed Android, the TyphoonN ROM by Twyeen. It was working fine no issues or anything then about a week ago it wouldn't load the screen, so I took the battery out put it back in and there was a white screen. I was driving at the time so my girlfriend kept trying it, anyway after about 30minutes it booted fine.
So I just went on with my phone ignoring what had happened, and yesterday the same thing happened and it has been just under 12 hours now and every time I turn it on it has a white screen, unless if I hold volume down and go into bootloader. This is the weird thing as the bootloader loads fine, the full Tricolour screen and everything. My computer also recognises my phone in bootloader.
Can someone help me please?

If your bootloader loads fine I would suggest a full reset from square one installing hspl, magldr, then android.
Sent from my HTC HD2 überphone

Ok thank you. How would I go about doing that please?

Did you fix that problem?
I think I'm in same situation.
Give me some advice, please.

Erm no, I left it for a while and it was fine, but it did it twice at work yesterday and now wont come out of it after over 12hours again. If you are in warrenty I would unflash everything and send in to HTC.
Sorry.

Thank you for your help & advice. But my warranty is expired...
And when I tried to flash back to init., it didn't work.
leoimg.nbh - 9% and reboot & white screen
task29 - about 4% and reboot & white screen
HSPL - 1% and reboot & white screen
Anyone can help me??
Thanks in advance.

Here's a tricky problem, need expertise!! Kind of urgent..

I have read and read and read. I have "bricked" my phone in the past and fixed it. I have used, tested, and flashed many roms from this site (Thanks to all cooks for their work!) but I still consider myself somewhat 'new' to troubleshooting.
I woke up this morning to make some important phone calls today and as luck would have it, my phone was stalled again. It's been doing that for a few weeks now. My last flash was Open Touch 5.0 UL I believe (either that or 5.2 biggy) and it has been working great except for the occasional freeze.
EDIT: Forgot to add, the actual problem is now it won't boot up after it froze this morning. Just sits at the boot screen
So I've tried my other methods of fixing it... /edit
Except this morning nothing is working. I have tried flashing with Orig. T-mobile ruu, tried SD flashing with the RUU_signed.nbh, tried restarting the computer, phone, removing battery and sim... NOTHING! When trying the sd flash (which I've never done before today, it reads and tells me to push the down button but then goes to bootloader screen and just sits there. With the RUU I'm getting err 300 but I'm using the SAME RUU (4.10...) that I've used in the past to reflash my phone AND tried the new one (4.26...)
Possible problem: Does it matter what kind of usb cable you use? I don't have the normal one I use as I am not home but I figured usb is usb...
I've read about it being a motherboard issue, how common is this?
I've read somethings about MTTY, would this apply to me??
Please help, anyone who has any suggestion, I'll try it!!
Stats:
IPL 4.10.0002
SPL 4.10.0000
NOT hard-spl'd
Wing w/ Open Touch Project 5.0 or 5.2
actualy the sd method needs hard spl thats all i can really provide
I appretiate it, that I did not know... I could barely find anything on how to do it even.
im having the same problem bt instead of freezing da screen jus goes different colors or jus goes gray and stays der
Thats basically what mine did. The colors would get messed up and no matter what button i pressed it would not do anything. My advice to you edrift, is BACK UP YOUR STUFF NOW and reflash it asap if you can still reboot. I can get into my phone at all now.
yea i tink i might jus throw my phone away.dis is jus gettin rediculous

need help...i have no idea whats wrong with my htc6800 stuck in the tri colored scree

ok i have a issue with my fone my phone is stuck on the tri-colored screen which says:
TITA100
SPL-1.20.01ipro
well i am as u can see im not good with tech. stuff like this but i would like sum advice or ideas on how to fix my problem. well here is how it all happened. my fone started off fine, out of the blue it started turning off by itself, then coming back on. it will reboot fine then as soon as i touch the screen or try to text or call it shut off on me. first i thought my battery was dying. that didnt work kept it on the charger switched out the battery, still nothing ended up doing the same. so a fren told me to hard reset or press the ok button pwr n the reset button at bottom using the stylst. now im stuck in bootloader mode after i ran a program:
HARD-SPL-MFG
and was told to flash the fone, which i had no idea what to do the person who was helping me i didnt hear frm again n i was stuck in this tricolored screen what should i do? i just want my phone up and running so i can use it once again...if thats possible..it be great i love the phone n dnt want the money i invested into it wasted
thank you soo much,
If I had to guess, it sounds like you have installed a SPL that is not compatible with your existing radio and rom.
First thing is I would try downloading the stock rom for your phone, I believe you can download this from HTC's website, I would download the newest and the one prior to it. Try installing the older of the 2 first since your SPL that you do have is older, and if it fails to install, then try the newer of the two.
If it still fails, come back here and I'm sure somebody else can give you more advice.

[Q] No Bootloader, HSPL and HTC returns?

I've been using Android NAND for a while with no problems but the other day I struggled getting into bootloader. Eventually (for no obvious reason) it went in and I flashed the shipped rom. I tried bootloader again but no dice. Then I made the fatal error of flashing HSPL again only to get stuck on the O2 screen. I can't get any further.
I can't connect to the pc because it doesn't see anything and I can't get it onto bootloader to flash anything else. I've tried everything I can think of bar JTAG (which is out of my league) and I'm supposed to be sending it back to HTC tomorrow for a repair.
Question is, will HTC see HSPL installed without access to the bootloader and, if they do, will they tell me where to shove it?
..tried searching everywhere before starting a new thread...

How did you flash shipped if you couldn't get into bootloader?
You're doing vol-down and power on right? If you get a splash you should be able to get into bootloader, because SOMETHING is telling your splash to show up.
Try putting the correct shipped on your SD and power up with vol down.
I think they will be able to tell that you modified it.
Thanks for the quick response. I'll try it again with the sd card. The only thing I can think is that the battery died on me almost as soon as I tried the sd card shipped rom. I saw the bootloader for a second and then the phone went off. When I charged it back up, no bootloader...
The problem is I've tried so many things, I'm struggling remembering the exact order of my screw up. I have a feeling after the battery died and I couldn't get it into bootloader, HSPL was working and I flashed the stock rom using USB flash.

Well, I've seen lots of warnings about having your battery greater than 50% while flashing, which (obviously) means that if your device has run out of juice while flashing could lead to unrepairable (by end-user) issues .
Try orangekid's advice and report back.

when flashing from SD, SPL and radio are the first 2 things it flashes afaik, so power out right when you started flashing could be a serious issue.
Hopefully what I said above works though, if your SPL is completely fubar I have no idea what HTC will say, what I would tell them if you try to RMA is you had problems with random reboots and did a hard-reset, then when it started flashing it just turned off for no reason and now it's weird or something like that so they think it was a regular stock hard reset thing and not a "oh **** I have to restore to factory cuz I have HSPL on here" thing.
Ok, so I tried about 10 more times with no joy - at least it's consistently broken now.
Thanks guys, just hoping for an 11th hour rescue. I'll send it off tomorrow and report back the outcome with HTC. I appreciate your help. I knew the lack of charge and flashing via bootloader was going to trip me up one day.
Was HTC able to bring the phone back to its original state or were you able to do something to get the issue fixed? I have the same problem. All I did was to load prj Clean Desire v0.3.2 ROM (this ROM is the same as Cotulla's but with few fixes). This was the first time I ever attempted loading an Android ROM on to my HD2. All looked well initially. The phone was rebooted after ROM was installed. I did intial setup like facebook acct, email, wi-fi, gprs, etc. Then after few hours, the menu button (windows button in HD2) and back button quit working. Even the power button when pressed for few seconds wouldn't bring up the power off and other options. I thought a soft reset would fix it and then I pulled the battery off and restarted. All I now get is the first boot screen with "123456...go.go.go..." and then a white screen with HTC on it. Nothing more. It is stuck there. I tried getting in to bootloader, but I couldn't. Holding down the volume-down and then pressing the power button just restarts the phone as mentioned above and takes me to the HTC screen. Not sure how can I get to the bootloader. Desperately looking for help....

T-Mobile HTC HD2 boot loop

Ok so I mean I wanna say i'm proud of myself for getting as far as I did. I had a HD2 running on a NRG Energize rom. The touch screen was unresponsive so I got that fixed at a repair shop. Then it was having a problem booting and kept going thru this boot loop showing me NRG Energize over n over. I tried to run the t-mobile upgrade to the 3.14 but it got stuck at 8% and wouldn't go passed that. I ended up doing the extraction thing when u rename the nbh file to leoimg and got the phone to run the upgrade from that. I thought all my problems would be solved but the phone started up and as i was setting up my e-mail and stuff it froze and restarted. now its stuck on this stick together boot loop... I don't know what to do next, all i'm trying to do i get this phone working even if its at a stock capacity. Any thoughts i should do now?
So what i'm getting from searching the forums so far is that when i get back to the phone i should check the battery pins? can anyone confirm this? Cause the phone starts up but it'll freeze and reboot or just hit the bootloop from the time i turn it on. keeps stopping.
Yea battery pins should be the first check.

HD2 refused to boot

Hello. My HD2 after about 2 years of working perfectly started to reset itself. Back then it was working on WM 6.5. The reseting problem started to appear more frequently then after one of those my screen went white(without any writing on it). I managed to turn it on with few battery out/soft/hard reset. All that gone in vain because it worked about 30 minutes then after reset gone back to previous state. Then i flashed original ROM but it didn't changed anything. After that I i installed android(nand) which worked fine for couple hours afterwards I saw familiar white screen. This time i couldn't flash rom from comp not even sd card. Task 29 stopped on 0%. In bootloader it seemed that I there was hspl 2.08. Then after keeping hd2 in freezer for about 30 minutes I managed to flash original ROM. However it still stopped on white screen but after instaling hspl 2.08 again i could use task29 then radio, maglar and recovery so i put it up for android again which worked for few hours again then it went white. That's it present state.
I've done some reading and it seems like i need to replace mainboard Plz tell me i'm wrong and there is still sth I could do. Beside of instaling android every few hours I'm sorry for my english. It's my first post so give me some slack.
your mainboard diagnosis seems correct.
either strip it for spares to help fund a replacement or find a mainboard for repair.

Unfortunately for you(OP) it seems the only way out of this...
