[Q] htc hd2 wp7 issues - HD2 Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting an

ok so yesterday i decided to reflash my phone with dft's leo70 rom Os version: 7.0.7004.0
my phone is an australian telstra handset.
since i put wp7 on it 3g doesnt work, cannot use cellular data
cannot unlock with chevron tool. comes up with eroors saying phone is not connected and zune isnt running when both are working fine
not having cellular data working and not being able to sideload apps is kinda a dealbreaker for me.
if there is a fix at all please help me or im gunna have to go back to winmo 6.5
radio version is: 2.14.50.04
magldr 1.12
anymore info required just ask me
my computer is running win7

Why did you pick the oldest WP7 ROM out on this planet?? Take a new one. They are unlocked out of the box and include a lot of fixes and updates.
Use 2.15 RadioROM how mentioned in every ROM thread!
Use Magldr 1.13 and not the old one.
Maybe this all will even fix your problems.

to update the radio rom, do i have to roll back to winmo 6.5? noob question i know :S

No,
You dont have to rollback to wm6.5 to install a different radio.

i have the 2.15 radio rom how do i update it?

[Q] Pls help to install ANDROID

HELP ME .....I can't install android 2.2 in my htc hd2. I read a suggestion to please downgrade redio version to 2.12.50 and spl version to 1.42.....then run HSPL3_PKG to unlock the divice, after this go file Android and tab CLRCAD and Haret ,with in 10-15 minites every thing ok . But my radio version is 2.15.50.14 and Spl is 3.13......i can't downgrade this ...i tried sevarel cab .... every downgrade process end an error.
Pls help me, to install android ..... my rom version is 3.14.479.2 updated in 10/04/10. thanksssssss
Radio etc is fine, what's happening exactly?

"Spl is 3.13......i can't downgrade this"
Have you tried reflashing with the previous official rom?
i don't know if your device is Tmous or HTC HD2.
mine is the latter,i upgrade to the new rom3.14 WWE asia, spl 3.13 and later reflash with the previous official stock rom 1.66 and i got back spl 1.42.
from there i did hspl, flash radio and got android running.
try reflashing with the previous official rom then check on the spl version.once you confirmed it has been downgraded, you can do watever you want to get android running.
always read carefully if the rom you are flashing is compatible with your device.or you'll end up with a very expensive paper weight.
The 1 and only thing that is important is the radio. Seriously, forget about SPL/HSPL. The only reason people say to do anything with HSPL is because you need to have a suitable radio, and until recently there were no stock ROMs with a suitable radio. HSPL would allow you to upgrade your radio.
The radio you have is fine. It needs to be at least 2.08 (you're is 2.15) and it needs to be a 2.xx.50, not a 2.xx.51 (yours is 2.15.50).
Just follow the instructions on the Android build thread (where you download the build) and you should be able to run it with no problem.
Encfiltlog.menc

Question About Radios [Not Too nooby, Sorry For Inconvenience but i have to ask]

since the new nand android got released for the leo...i have one question about flashing which i just cant understand is this how it goes? ->
1) install hspl3 anything 2.08 or higher as mskip said.
2) install magldr version 1.something or higher
3) install nand Rom (Nand Version Only Not the sd Ones) By going into usb flasher mode...
the only thin i cant understand is where does radio come into all of this...on mskip's tutorial he says use 2.08 radio or higher....
are these hacked radio's or just the same firmware needed to run radio devices on android ?
and when we install like a cyanogen nand or the desire nand do we have to update the radio to a particular version or something?
i understood everything about hspl and magldr and android nand...just cant get where the radio comes into all of this...some guides dont even have radio mentioned.....
do we just need to have 2.08 or higher and just leave it and forget about it...or do we need to upgrade to a particular version....
will it harm the phone if i upgrade or should i just blindfolded upgrade to the latest 2.15 or something(dont know the version number)
i hope i havent troubled you guys a lot...just needed this clear for myself and maybe the community....sorry for the incoveneince
can any1 please help me out?
Just make sure you've got a suitable radio, as you said, and that's it. You don't need to update it when you flash new builds.

Hi guys

howdy all, im new to the forum havent really had a chance to have much of a browse yet.
have had my hd2 for a while now and tbh im no overly impressed with it, whether or not that's just me not being able to get to grips with it im unsure of, but it always seems to be glitching, takes a while to do anything locks up quite a lot many problems.
just wondering is there anyway of making the whole thing run more smoothly?
any help would be greatly appreciated, and bare with me as im so out of touch with phones nowadays.
Well I assume you are still using the stock Windows Mobile ROM. Do this go to Settings>About Phone>Software Information and tell us what ROM and radio you have right now as I bet you are not on the most recent ROM as the older Windows Mobile ROMs were unstable.
it says im running
rom version 1.43.110.2 (70315) wwe
radio version 2.04.50.22_2

T-Macgnolia was right your HD2 is running stock from way back from launch day...
The latest radio is 2.15.50 while the latest stock rom is somewhere in the 3.0 range
If you want to stick with stock try flashing the latest T-mobile / HTC update... make sure you backup anything and everything because you never know what might happen.
Yeah you are running a much older ROM. I can also tell from that ROM version you are using a EU HD2. Go to HTC.com and looks for ROM upgrades and then enter your serial number that is behind the battery and see what the latest ROM version for your HD2. If it says you can use a 3.14 ROM download it and flash it to your HD2. They should have some instructions on the HTC site telling you how to do this. It is simple really come post back here if you have questions. Also you can flash a custom ROM from here on on XDA, you can run Android from your SD card if you want while still having Windows Mobile on your HD2, you can flash Android to your HD2 doing away with Windows Mobile (I run Android right now), and you can flash Windows Phone 7 to your HD2 of you want. But try out a better stock ROM first as it will give you some experience flashing a ROM. Take a look a my guide in my signature as it will teach you some about what I just mentioned, and AI have links to guides on how to install Android or Windows Phone 7.

[Q] Default ROM for HD2

Hi, I have been using Android basically since day one when I got this phone. I have been experiencing random restarts lately and think it could be a hardware issue. I already tried different Android ROMS and also tried using it from a clean state (no extra apps installed)...so it comes down to possible hardware/motherboard issue. I want to send it back to HTC for a replacement.
I ran HSPL3 and it's back to 2.10.0000 SPL now. I found an update for the T-Mobile US (1024) stock rom (3.14.531). I restored it back and everything looks ok now. The only thing I'm worried about is the radio version. I remember putting 2.15.50.14 on it and still see it. From what I see here, the radio should be 2.14.50.04 for this latest update.
My main question (just FYI for my knowledge) is shouldn't restoring the T-Mobile software restore the radio version also? It looks like I'll just have to flash the radio back myself.
The original specs I had were:
R 2.10.50.26
G 15.39.50.07U
D 2.13.90693 8G
I guess I don't need to worry about the 2nd and 3rd one right? Forgot exactly what they meant (read it somewhere) but the radio is what worries me.
Thanks.
No the radio will not change by replacing the rom, you need to choose the radio of your choice and flash it to the phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
So should I flash the original radio back (2.10.50.26)? I read in one of the posts here that for the 3.14.531 ROM, it should have the 2.14.50.04 radio.
Haven't ran into any random restarts yet after I restored it back to the Windows Mobile ROM. Might have to go back to square one if it doesn't happen in Windows but only in Android.
Thanks.
You should flash Radio 2.15.50.14 and HSPL2.08 for your phone,in order to run android.Since, you have flashed your stock ROM,i think its best you start fresh from the beginning.Start with HSPL,then radio. Have you tried both SD and NAND builds? and did you use MAGLDR?. If you still experience boot cycles, you might want to try TASK 29. If you are launching Android from WM, you should want to flash a custom WM ROM that works well with Android.

Yes it sounds like you may have a hardware issue seeing as you have tried different Android NAND ROMs.
If you still see the 2.15.50.14 radio then it is still installed on your HD2. The question though is did the radio version with the stock ROM get upgraded to the 2.15.50.14 version from the 2.14.50.04 version.
To answer your question yes the radio version does get flashed when you flash a official stock ROM via RUU. The radio version that the ROM contains is the version that gets flased.
Thanks for providing the original specs on your HD2 as this lets people know what your original stock ROM was and the original radio and base band versions wee too. The R is the radio version, the G is your Base Band version, and the D is the ROM version.

Not true, if you flash a official stock Windows Mobile ROM via RUU (USB) it will change the radio version to the radio version included in the ROM. This is why TMOUS HD2s get bricked when you flash them with a international ROM. The radio versions in the international ROMs are not compatible with the TMOUS HD2.

I would flash the radio version that is known to be the radio version included with the stock ROM. HTC will be looking for two things basically. One if the radio, base band, and ROM versions all match up, and two if you have SPL on the device and not HSPL. If either of these do not pass HTC will deny your claim.

I agree with member kawshigan, you should check and see if HSPL was removed and replaced with SPL by the stock ROM flash, check the bootloader screen to see if you still have it. If you did it via RUU than it did not. But if you flashed it via SD card then it did remove HSPL. Either way you have to have HSPL flashed to you HD2 to flash MAGLDR or cLK, you also have to have it to run a TASK 29. Once you are sure you have HSPL on your HD2 you I suggest youi run a Task 29, next flash the 2.15.50.14 radio, then flash MAGLDR or cLK (wich ever one you want to use), then flash Clockwork Mod Recovery, and then use Clockwork Mod Recovery to flash your ROM via .zip file on your SD card.

Successful T-mobile USA network users rom, hardware and software radio information

I am asking anyone with an HTC HD2 Leo Euro version, who uses T-mobile as a service provider in the USA and you are able to receive DATA and MMS messages to please post your phone information here in this thread for others to use and try.
After flashing and reflashing roms and radios for 2 weeks I have yet to find a combination that works on my HTC HD2 Leo Euro version. I can get most everything else to work. I have not tried bluetooth as I don't have one. At this point I don't care which rom I use or if it is not the most recent updated one, I just want one that works. This thread can be very useful to many HTC HD2 Leo owners.
Also, if your phone is working could please give us a short version of the steps you used when you flashed your phone. I am thinking the steps could be as important as the software itself. Maybe you do a step that I don't or maybe I do one that is causing the problem. I just want to cover all bases so we can come up with a usable solution for everyone.
There are many posts in the forums from people who use HTC HD2 Leo and get the hardware radio: 0.0.0.0 in their phone information settings and maybe this is why we can't get it to work. I am also one of those people.
These are the roms I have tryed so far, not neccisarily in this order:
1. 1_HD2 Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.5 Tango 7.10.8773.98 v8
2. 1_HD2 Pdaimatejam Rom Wp7.5 Tango 7.10.8779.8 v8.1
3. HD2_Updatable_XBmod_Yuki_v2.1
4. HD2O_2.02_8779
5. RUU_LEO_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.01_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U_NT _Tango_8773_3La_V3_by_ansar
6. TIGER-WP-Stock-(HD2)-V5.0.0-Final
Below are examples of just a few of the hardware and software radios available for us to choose and use.
Hardware radios examples:
2.10.50.19.2
2.15.50.14
2.14.50.04
These radios can be flashed before you flash HSPL or after you flash the rom.
Software radios examples:
5.51.09.06a_22.30.50.09
5.51T.09.29a_22.32.50.10U
5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
These radios can be changed in the rom before you flash the rom, not after you flash the rom.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
So if you could please give us a short version of the steps you used to flash your phone and what rom and radios you have. I'll put in here as an example. I guess I need to say this setup does not get data and mms on my phone.
Steps:
1. task 29
2. Install Windows Phone 6.5 stock WWE version
3. Flash hardware radio
4. Flash HSPL
5. Flash MAGLDR113
6. magldr menu to 10.servicies >4.Uselast24NAND
7. magldr menu to 10. Services >5. ClearSD MBR
8. Flash the rom.
9. go to settings> about> reset your phone.
10. use HTC Connection Setup
hardware radio I flashed: Leo_Radio_2.15.50.14tmous
Rom flashed: RUU_LEO_HTC_Europe_5.12.401.01_Radio_5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U_NT _Tango_8773_3La_V3_by_ansar
software radio: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U - was included in the rom
Also, let us know if you have "Radio hardware version: 0.0.0.0" showing up in "Settings>about>more info"
Please, please, please, only post your steps and information if your Data and mms messages are WORKING. There are too
many combinations of roms, hardware radios and software radios that do not work, we do not need these posted.
Still need help with euro version and Windows 7.5
Well, is there no one using the euro version of this phone and using the T-mobile network able to get data and mms. Just writing this to let you know we still need help with this. I think I am going to dual boot Windows Mobile 6.5 and Android until there is a solution. My brain is fried trying to figure it out. I think maybe it can be done in the registry but I have not been successful yet. I will work on it some more but it is frustrating.
Is there no one out there ???
I thought by now someone would have responded to this thread. I first posted on July 6th just looking for anyone with a HTC HD2 Europe version using T-mobile USA wireless and able to get data and mms. I have recently been adding apn information in the registry but I had no success as of yet. I have been trying on pdaimatejam and ansar's roms. I also have been trying all of the WM 6.5 roms and found I like Artemis HD2 v70.0 >>[WWE] and Energy™-.¸¸.·´¯ 6.5 _LeCiel_'s ".sencity" roms.
youtube.com/user/JuicyBoose/videos
try this one.
