Hey guys, im running virtuous fusion 1.1.8 on my mytouch 4G & all i wanna know is what kernel is the best for this rom? i tried faux's instructions, wipe cache & dalvik, then install first kernel, wipe cache & dalvik again, installed stock voltage kernel & they were both freezing up, so which kernel is good for this rom?
I use unity v4 and i must say it's smooth

I suggest flashing virtuous unity, then unity v4 kernel.

OP, Virtuous Fusion is outdated and no longer supported. Switch to Virtuous Unity, which is also Gingerbread/Sense 3.0, but much faster and is updated bi-weekly.

whats the fastest wildfire rom at the minute? sense or no sense doesnt really matter? like cyanogen or something, my phone is really slow at the minute which is really annoying me
wild puzzle, put an overclocked kernal on and use SetCPU to overclock, that might speed your phone up a bit.
Thats what i would do.

It is probably a kernel issue. Try reusing HCDR.Kernel v4.1 from it's specific thread. Apart from that, you can try Openfire ROM as well, which is a completely vanilla AOSP build.
cold it be that rom manager didnt wipe properly? iv just manualy gone through and wiped everything and it hasnt crashed on me yet,
i thought the kernel would be flashed fresh from cm7?

Yes, it is always recommended to wipe it manually through the Recovery Menu. You have to wipe data, cache, dalvik cache and /system for best results before installing a new ROM.
As for the kernel, yes, it is included by default in CM7, but it is v4.2. Using v4.2 has caused some stability issues for some members, and, in that case, it is recommended to revert back to kernel v4.1
yeh thanks for that info, was a kernel issue i hope, all been goin good so far
strange, cause the only difference between 4.1 and 4.2 is the wifi driver.

Well since using the 4.1 keen every thing is working perfect, nice and fast no fcs or random reboots.
Well my mate said I have a desire hd and thank god I do, couldn't handle the wildfire lol
do not forget to enable jit

Have done
Cm6 and Cm7 is a bit not very stable for me, have to reboot one or two times a day. Maybe I'll switch to other.
you are doing it wrong, cm7 is really stable. I m using nightly 19 for weeks without any problems.

Don't think so, do a wipe data, system, darkvik cache, flash #53, boot in, first time ADW FC. reboot, flash 4.1 kernel, boot again, ADW FC again
I can reproduce it everytime, lol
I used CM the last two weeks..
Yesterday I went to the new CM7 Rc1 then i moved to Openfire..
it's very stable and fast, even without setCPU.. i've just backup all my apps and it is wonderful..
The last cyanogen seems to be quite slow sometimes..
Hey guys. I recently flashed one of faux123's kernel specific to the Virtuous Fusion version 1.1.8 rom. I now want to flash the new synergy ROM. I wanted to now if I can flash the synergy rom with faux's kernel or if I have to go back to the stock kernel? Any help you can offer will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
Is this the kernel you're talking about? That kernel should work with the Synergy ROM, so do a full wipe (data, cache, Dalvik-Cache), flash the ROM, boot the ROM, reboot into recovery and wipe cache and Dalvik-Cache, flash the kernel, reboot, run Fix Permissions, reboot again.
Thank you so much for your time. And yes that was the rom that i was talking about.
The synergy's stock kernel is faux's 0.0.7 CFS kernel so there would be no reason to flash anything unless u want to change to 0.0.8 BFS kernel...

a simple search and you would find your answer....
but i'll help anyway.
TO INSTALL ANY CUSTOM ROMS, YOU MUST HAVE S-OFF AND CLOCKWORKMOD RECOVERY INSTALLED.
the best Sense 3.0 rom out there for the MT4G is Virtuous Unity. it is a beast rom, a must try.
website: http://www.virtuousrom.com/
thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1143177
to download:
1) download rom from the VU website.
2) VERIFY THE MD5SUM (done using the free mand5 app from market)
3) put the .zip file into SDcard.
to flash this rom:
1) reboot to clockworkmod recovery BE SURE FASTBOOT IS OFF
2) once in clockworkmod recovery, DO A NANDROID BACKUP IMPORTANT
3) do a FULL WIPE.
full wipe is:
Code:
wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache (under advanced menu)
4) after you have full wiped, flash the rom, and wait for it to finish
5) reboot NOTE: THE FIRST BOOT WILL TAKE LONGER THAN USUAL, PLEASE BE PATIENT.
6) *hit the thanks button*
7) enjoy Virtuous Unity
PLEASE USE THE SEARCH BUTTON NEXT TIME.

nope, the kernel that comes with the ROM is pretty sweet
but, if you other kernels.. here are two of the best kernels for sense roms:
UNITY V9 KERNEL: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1121939
Demonspeed kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1214489
radio, i would suggest the panache radio, works best for my phone, but you should try all of them. each phone is different.
link to radio thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059347
no problem, just remember to use the search button next time
thanks again, i already booted up, thanks a lot, and yes i will

no problem bro. enjoy Virtuous Unity!
Virtuos Unity is the best sense rom to me hands down. Sense 3.0 is amazing. Hope everything is going well or has gone well with your process.
I prefer using TDJ's newest sense Rom that is sense 3.5. Im using it now and I love it. It's fast and stable and has good battery life and a lot of tweaks.

Thanks for the info.So is there anything i can do to reslove that problem on AOSP?Scince this Sense ROM has alot of bugs(usb tethering, gaming and cAmera are essential for me), i can not use it as DD.Hhmmm.
Well you can try to make your own rom
Anyway, if those things are important to you, move to gingerbread or aokp ics

I agree, just stick with CM7.2 with an ICS theme until all of the ICS roms get their bugs fixed. BTW @ OP...have you tried clearing cache + dalvik then fixing permissions, or performing a whole system wipe then reflash the rom?
Yesterday, I installed CM9-NIGHTLY-120406 in my Defy classic, I had chinese rom froyo. Now I'm having lots of issues with CM9 (blocks, usb not working, etc.)and I was wondering if I can install CM7 now.
Yes usually you can, do full wipe, wipe dalvik Cache and install cm7 ;-)
