Is there any way to disable sms? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Is there any way to disable sms? I don't have text plan and wish not to use texting. I would like to disable sms completely so I don't accidentally use this sms feature.
Thanks all,

This has nothing to do with Android - plain old GSM blocking feature:
From you dial pad, type *33*4 digit blocking password*16# and press dial/ call.
(Example: *33*0000*16#) - This will work if the barring password is 0000 (which is the default for many service providers)
WARNING: If you do not know the barring password, do not try it more than twice (maybe with 0000 or 1234), else the barring will get locked. The Service Provider can of course unlock it for you.
And to unblock, do a #33*barring password*16#

How to keep incomming SMS from not activating PPC

Dear All
Is there possible to prevent an incomming SMS from activating the PocketPC.
I am looking for a program which can prevent an SMS from turning on the screen but still have the usual alerts such as vibration or sounds
Thanks
Tuan
If your GSM provider supports it, the SMS barring codes might be useful.

Phone options....

Did somebody know how to disable functionality in Phone mode that is sending Your Phone number ID, to the call receiver?....or in other words...is it possible make anonimous phone calls?..
tnx
There are 2 ways. Ask your provider to permanently switch off caller id or go to Start - Settings - Personal - Phone - Services - Caller ID - Get Settings - No one

Of course, you realize that the Cell Phone company still knows you made the call, and whom you called? So it is anonymous only to the receiving party, not in any permanent sense.
Yeah, we should fix that too ! No more bills (Big OR small)
should be interesting in fact....aha....thanks to ZERIMAR... i was able to redefine the settings avoiding to send ID nr. to my frends......
Didn't the GSM network have anoption never to show Call-ID, unless you put some code in front of the tel.number ?
Or was it the other way around ?
Instead of permanently disable Call ID forwarding through Phone->Settings as suggested, in Italy we have also a code you can put before the number you're calling that disable the ID just for that call. The code is *06#. Maybe other countries are using the same code too, don't know.
Isidoro
Yea it is but if i want t permanently hidden , i should redefine all numbers in phone memory adding this code in front...and then if somebody is calling me, ID is not going to be linked to the number in phone memory......better set up everything in the the phone functions directly....

With me everything is working properly when the phone is locked only on the screen touch a send a message and that's all
Hmmm,...I have it checkd but I don't believe anybody ever received an sms from me when I reject a call. Weird,..
Try QSMS To Buddy:FullFeatured free app from android market
It takes care of the situation you have explained. It not only allows you to send sms during rejected incoming calls. But it also allows the same when someone else rejects your calls (outgoing rejected): a feature never seen before.
Interestingly you have ability to modify the messages right when you are rejecting the call and sending the sms. e.g. instead of saying "call you back later" you can change it to "call you back in a min"

QText app has been on my Fav list
QText is the most professional application in the category. I tried many apps and none of them allow you to do below two things
1. Change the message before sending it: e.g. send "will call in a minute" instead of "will call you back later"
2. Send text for outgoing calls as well.
Auto text widget is also included.

Hi everybody,
I had this function before upgrading to JB 4.1.2, but nolonger now?
I wonder if someone can tell me how to get it back.
Thanks.
Works fine on WM6.5 & if need enhance the possible options further then Maicall is probably the answer as can handle sms replies as a whole & individually per number etc & rules can be listed in order of checking.
Far better than any of the Android options I have tried & reminds me why my daily work device is still an HD2 on WM6.5.x .

Google Voice Command

I want to use Google Voice Commands to send SMS via Hangouts. I CAN use it to make a phone call using Hangouts (it will ask me which program I want to use [Phone, Hangouts, Skype], and if I set the preference as "always", it will "stick".
However, no such choice for SMS. If I use voice command to send an SMS, it gives no choice, and ALWAYS sends via the standard phone Messenger App.
Any way to change this behaviour?
Have you set the default sms app?
Have you tried to disable the messeneger built in app?
These may help you.
Yes, thanks. That DOES cause it to send messages through Hangouts. However, it STILL sends the message from my Cell # rather than my GV #. If I send the message directly (by typing) through Hangouts it works properly. But utilizing Google Voice Actions to send the text will ALWAYS send it from the cells own number no matter what the settings are.

It's always been this way. No fix for it unfortunately.
I have a different issue. Seems that punctuations don't work with voice typing. Like when I say period, rather than full stop it comes as period. Are u guys facing this issue as well? Any work around?

SIP calling with MIUI dialer app not working

I have a SIP number and would love to use it reagularily next to my mobile network number, but unfortunately I can not get the MIUI dialer app to work properly with SIP calls.
I can set up my SIP account in the dialer and receive calls without a problem. Unfortunately it seems to be impossible to tell the dialer to make a specific call through the SIP though. I expected to be offered the choice of which provider I want to make each call through, but there is no per call choice.
I can dig in the settings and restart the dialer app to make it dial exclusively through SIP, or exclusively through mobile network, but that is extremely unpractical. I know a third party SIP app woul work, but I really want to use the integrated solution. Does anyone know how to pull this off?

Just guessing. If Dialer includes hidden support for SIP, maybe Contacts have too. That way you would define a Contact with SIP URI only, and Dialer would recognize and route as SIP call

The SIP implementation isn't really thought through by Xiaomi. But in your address book you can add "internet calls" for contacts (e.g. [email protected]) which are always called via your SIP profile. It's a good workaround for known contacts.

have you solve the problem using the contacts? i have same problem, receive calls normally, but dialing to a [email protected] on contact, receive a message: anyone response, limit time expired.
I have Redmi Note 8. I was able to use a SIP account before, I just dialed the number and I was prompted to select the account I would like to dial that number from (my SIM cards or my SIP account). Then I factory reset my phone. Added my SIP account back to the built-in phone APP, but when I try to call using my SIP number, I am prompted to select the account I would like to dial from, when I select my SIP account, then I am prompted to choose from my SIM cards only again. My SIP account is correct, because it registered correctly and if I setup SIP account only the SIP calls go through.
