I got a DX here flashed to Cricket on the Android plan and all it working pretty well except trying to update my PRL for better reception and such. I live in Dayton, OH and unless i'm in the immediate area i have trouble calling and receiving calls. Like I'll get a busy signal or it says 'please try your call again later', and incoming calls going staight to voice mail. I tired *228 to update it but with no prevail.
My current PRL is 35545. I've used my Google-Fu but it is weak in finding newest or best one for the DX on Cricket. Anyone got any suggestions or PRL files they can upload? Thanks in advance.
P.S. I am able to change PRLs on the phone by using CDMA/QPST just need to find a good one.
im not sure if u can use it over there but im using 49027 prl. look it up. its given me the best reception so far. hope this helps. i would post it but my comp is busy, sorry.

I got my replacement evo from Asurion today and so far it has been a nightmare to get 4g working.
Not sure if this is new, But the replacement I got was NOT in a brand new box, and also has a "remanufactured" sticker on the back. It does look new however and there is ZERO light leak.
Coming back to 4G though; ALL I did was
- Turn on phone, Download and install OTA update
- Use Simpleroot for OTA
- Return to OTA rooted using witslack's starting over method.
And 4g is broken. It detects the 4g network but as soon as it's about to connect, disconnects and keeps searching in an endless loop.
The only thing I have noticed is that my PRI was 1.40 when I got it, and now it's 1.34. Could that be the cause?
Thanks
Update 7/10/2010 Thanks guys. It's actually fixed now! Fixed by itself, Go figure. I am actually thinking it was some sort of provisioning settings from Sprint for people who have switched to other ESNs. I've seen a couple of people complaining about the same thing, under the same exact scenario. So if you just got your Evo replaced, dont try messing with anything too advanced that touches the WiMAX radio. Give it some time.
update your pri then profile. if that doesn't work search in the forums on how to increase the 4g timeout. if it doesn't connect in a certain amount of time by default, the phone will attempt a loop to connect over and over like the problem you are having
If you can't get 4g working from any of the guides, then this should help:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=715915
this was the only way to get 4g working on my phone -- none of the guides worked for me.

Actually, the shipping PRI has always been 1.40, using Toast's method puts it at 1.34 until we get an OTA that updates it again.
(or until I figure out how to flash the newest on there )
You have our MSL number? ##786# call.
Recovery
Then reboot and update.
That's from the top of my head. Anyone correct me if i am wrong.

I've been using 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03 for quite a while and it works the best for me. Keep in mind I am in the Vancouver, BC area.

I'm not with telus. I went back to 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26. The newer ones gave some problems. Sometimes bluetooth was not able to switch on. Only a reboot helps.

It would probably be helpful if you told us what radio you are currently on. I'm still using 63.18.55.06SU_6.35.17.03 as well and it's been pretty good. Occasionally I cant get a signal but its usually pretty good.
Thanks everyone. Updated radio everything seems better now

UPDATE: Seems like the problem is still their. Thought it was gone but loose signal drops calls and voice fades in and out. i am running the latest radio. Does any one have a nandroid backup of the stock telus rom etc. Maybee its a hardware issue
thanks
update above
I'm in Vancouver and been using 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 for a while now and everything seems to work fine ( I am not using bluetooth though). You might want to give it a try or/and maybe change the ROM. I remember reading somewhere on the VillainRom.co.uk forums that Telus Hero users with a Froyo ROM should use 63.18.55.06JU_6.35.09.26 but that was months ago when early versions of FroydVillain were released so I don't know.
I shuould note, GPS tends to be kind of slower than I`d like. Been thinking about updating to the latest but I wonder if it really changes anything.
Feels like every 30 seconds or so my 3G up/down arrows are replaced with a nasty looking red D? Have I missed a fix for this, or is its just that I'm unaware of a fault of the Continuum. Droid never did this. Even searching through the xda forums my 3G drops like nobodies business. If you guys know what I'm talking about let me know. Seriously, just switched from my Droid days ago and been in all the same places. Never had this problem.

Great guys thanks for the help, running MUCH better now!
Flashed to EC07 clean and everything is working but the radio is still responding like crap. Every 30 seconds it goes back to D mode and I lose my connection. It's not the area I'm in. I'm on campus at Kent State University... can anyone else think of what might be causing this issue?
Did you update the base band then, or did you just do the prl update?

newest prl should be 52599 i just updated mine a couple days ago also try running a speed test it could just be verizon has bad data coverage in your area or its really bogged down.
i get around 1.4mbs down from verizon at my house but if you live in a city were a lot of people are using the same cell site youll probably be looking at speeds in the 400-800kbps range

blah blah ST sucks, or they'll disconnect you, "air tank" prepaid crap will get you kicked off, use boost mobile, etc.

Would the steps be identical to that of the fascinate except prior to that you'd have to flash a Verizon prl? I ask because even after the flash was successful, making a call still results in "we're sorry we are currently unable to authentic your phone".

I'm def interested in this. I've been planning on going to straight talk. If I could take my epic with me that would be awesome!

I'm curious to know what 3G speeds you guys are getting. (I know it varies by location/coverage) but still.
Two Tips:
#1, make sure the Donor Phone can be read, in some way, even if its alternate methods, otherwise you're screwed.
#2, If you're flashing an Epic to any carrier that isn't Sprint, it's BEST to uninstall systemupdates.apk.

Just wanted to thank justan00b for putting this together. He is truly a helpful community member, with a lot of patience and drive to be contributing to people who need help.
For months, I have sat on my EVO 3D, because I was not able to successfully write the HA, AAA, and the DMU stuff correctly to the phone to get the true 3G speeds. Granted, all Verizon MVNOs are capped to begin with, but using the EVO on 1X was not an option for me. Thanks to justan00b's guide, I will give this a whirl on Saturday and see how it goes...
Thanks again man!

Depends where I'm at and my signal, but I've gotten download speeds almost 2mbps using speedtest.net app, slowest I'll get is sometimes .50 or .20 mbps down, just depends though. And care to explain on your first tip? What do you mean by can be read, as in can be read in dfs/cdma ws? And what do you mean or else you'll be screwed?

I'm not sure if Verizon phones are any different, but on other prepaid carriers, the keys are much more difficult to read than others, so say the user following your guide tries it out with a phone that locks up and won't allow you to read the keys, they have a bad investment on their hands. Without the possibility of 1x/3G internet.

Thanks for the detailed tut. The best so far for flashing to st. Gonna give this a shot once I get my vzw phone, should be here in a week. Will post an update once done. Wonder if you can get higher 3g speeds by using the full throttle tut posted here. Might give that a try when done.
It seems like with most things there are many ways to accomplish something. I just today flashed an EVO 4G over to ST. This is the second one I have done. First time I used a Handsfree Activation method because I did not have a VZ phone to activate an pull the data from. This time around I have a Fascinate and used a similar yet actually much different method then this. Im kicking myself because the first time around I searched like crazy and found the proper MMS settings and APN that got my MMS fully working, and well...did not save the info so now once again Im searching for it...lol. Now I know the HTC and Samsung MMS works differently on ST, but contrary to most peoples belief...the native MMS CAN be fixed and function 100% on the Samsungs. I have seen it personally working and am trying to get in touch with the flasher who set the phone up. If he gives up the secret I will post it here. If he doesnt then Im either going to try and track down the phone I seen working and see if the guy will allow me to take a peek into the settings and backup and pull a copy of the APN....or...lol...Im going to just send the flasher a Sprint Sammy and pay him to flash it. Then I can just pull the info from my own phone. Stay tuned to this thread...I will be posting the fix.

When you used the handsfree method did your data work, and if it did can you share the instructions and where you got them from because i dont have a vzw phone to use for this method.
For grins I went and did a check for a new PRL...And there was one... 60687 is out... So if you are on a custom ROM that may not automatically check, you may want to update...

And for those that use the 11115 3G Roam PRL there's a 11119 PRL out there.
As well as a 00002 PRL for the more frowned upon VZW roaming.

Actually 11120 replaced 11119. I also heard 11121 has been seen too.
I wouldn't say frowned upon with 00002. I would say the PRL to use if you want Sprint to write you a letter saying "Dear xxxxx, we quit you."
Sent from my C64 w/Epyx FastLoad cartridge
This PRL screwed up my service
I'm 100% roaming where I live. After I updated to this PRL along with Verizon having to replace a local tower 'cause some nut shot it all up, I could no longer receive incoming calls from the local area code whether from a land line or cell, they would only receive a busy signal. Calls from other area codes come in fine. After a 1 hour call to support their only solution was to "go to your sprint store - even though we know it's an hour and a half drive away." So after trying a bunch of consumer and even latest business PRLs the only ones that work are the VZW ones i.e. 00002. I rarely use 3g, so I'm hoping that by leaving mobile network turned off I won't receive a termination letter.

Yeah I just saw this too, my signal strenth was terrible for the past two days so I ran the multiboot rom to update PRL and profile. and WDYK? a brand new PRL! Still have a pretty low signal but it has another bar now. Hopefully they are improving towers or getting ready to put 4g in my area.
